Description
There will hopefully be plenty of muggles where you find this locationless skateboard park 'cache'.
As opposed to a 'waymark', this cache needs to be within walking distance of an actual geocache - whether you have found it or not!!
Most suburbs and towns have an official skate/bike park where the locals practice, and provide us nurses with a few injuries to patch up. I will accept those unofficial jumps that locals have built in the area as well.
To log this as a FIND, please include a photo of the skate park, either with yourself and GPSr in it, or with some adventuresome skater. AND, it MUST be within walking distance (that means YOU have walked it) from a local geocache. Give the coordinates of the skate park in the log, and the name or code of the local geocache/s you have looked for. Also, a general description of the park conditions.
For logging as a NOTE, please give the coordinates, hopefully take a photo, and give a description of the park.
As a continuation of my 'Dance' themed caches, you're welcome to video yourself doing some 'Free-Style' dance moves a'la Matt Harding, for the GeoMonkeys' GA0510 cache, http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0510
Congratulations go to:
2009 collector of most skating parks: Wandering Aus (6)
2010 collector of skating parks: M_Family (snuck in with 3)
2011 collector of skate parks: Team Robbins scores with 6 - one (Harrington - 18/3/11) had been already scored by Stringy 21/11/09

GCA8246 Lauderdale Canal History cache placed by us,
GA27510 Traditional Ralph's Bay placed by us abd GA1047 Great Balls of ??? Maintained by us.
Thanks for the locationless. Using for the Cacheopoly games.
I was here early so this skate park was not in use except as I was leaving there was one young person enhancing the art work with a spray can.
There are two caches close by. GC97PVM Le Fou is less than 200 metres from where the photo was taken. Three other caches would be within 400 metres.
S37 25.516 E143 53.851.
Called pump park by the locals and is designed as a loop.
It is within 200m of mystery cache
GC6F49E trees of Creswick.
Not in use at the moment due to covid.
Thanks.
Walking over the road to the nearest cache is the one Indian-Pacific Challenge - West GC8E87R which we have previously found.
Thanks for the locationless cache
Last week I took a photograph of the skate park at Evandale in Tasmania, for a specific cache, but I didn't end up using it as I also had one from today at Sheffield.
This skatepark is right next to the primary school at Evandale at S41 34.037 E147 14.700. The nearest cache, which we have found in the past is Evandale to Launceston Water Supply Scheme - Historic Engineering Marker #63 GA7741, a virtual cache which can be found less than 5 minutes away at S41 34.121 E147 14.607.
Thanks.
Thank you for the locationless.
The cache that was hidden here was called 'Behind the 8 Ball' - it was hanging between the boards of the sign seen in the photo. So of course we had to time our visit here when no muggle skateboarders were around.
Thanks Grahame Cookie
This park is within walking distance of the gc.com cache GC1W1GZ Plane Spotter. Also in shot is Ge-Gnarly one of the movables from the gnome race.
It was a great park with a variety bowls, pipes and boxes.
When we were there, there was 'dad' who was giving skater boy son some tips on how to skate the quarter pipe.
This skate park is in Victoria Park, WA. Next to the Swan River.
Nearest cache is a nice multi called "This is Heresy" (http://coord.info/GCGWC1).
My kids played there for years till they grew up now with Bubbies on the way they will be able to take their kids there. Fun place.
Thanks Acko
A lot of work has gone into the building of the jumps and it looks to be well used.
Just off the Victoria Falls Road near the Great Western Highway as you get to Mount Victoria,
This bike park is obviously strictly for the locals but it has well made jumps and tracks and even has a starting ramp.
The attached photo features The Split, geoboy cacher aged 8, riding at Helmet Bowl which is also GZ for GC37JCA "Freestyle". Thanks for the locationless cache.
This Skate Park is located at The Bluff recreation area in Devonport. In our youth it was a 20m swimming pool which when maintenance became too costly for the local council was filled in and a small skate facility built. Recently local youth worked with the council to upgrade the skate park along with the redevelopment of the playground, nearby picnic facilities and the surf club.
Today there were plenty of kids (nearly all boys) skate-boarding, scootering and BMX riding.
However the locals were cagey about having their photos taken, so they took one of me - LOL
Took my photo from about 40 metres.
I've been trying to grab this one for a while, and amazingly had to come about 700 km's from home to do so.
Thanks for the locationless.
The nearest cache that I can divulge the name of is Stirling Silver GC2P202. It's around 400m away.
TFTC and the figures.
Nearby caches: my Magrat cache(GC2KT1K) is just down the road a little, Bolt from the Blue (GC2PK2M) is across the road and there are a few other caches in Glenbrook that are not too far distant.
It was in walking distance of a GC cache Dig Deep GC2PDAK. A nice place in St Ives with a shopping centre just across the road.
Nearby caches - from where I am sitting in the photo attached to this log I can see Summerhayes #2 (GC291AB). Well, it's a nano, so I can't actually see the cache, but I can see the location. Maybe a 30 second walk.
Summerhayes #1 (GC28167) is perhaps 5 minutes walk away, closer to where you would probably park to pick up these 2 caches. Summerhayes Park is home to our local football and netball clubs. It also has a fairly good play area for children. Unfortunately the toilets are usually locked, unless there is a game on.
Woylies of Winmalee (GC2674B) is also within walking distance. It would normally be accessed via Hawkesbury Rd, but there is a back entrance into this location from Summerhayes Park.
Finally I think I Suffer for my Art (GC2AEPM) would also be within walking distance but I haven't found this one yet to confirm that.
It is a nice walk from here to the cache GC25GHV along the coast "Don't get Hooked"
TFTC
It was too early and damp for the skaters but there was a young fellow practicing his basketball moves nearby.
The park is home to all sorts of features, swimming pool, play equipment, miniature rail line, rowing club, fountain and plenty of room for running around.
Returned today while gnoming to grab this adjacent skate park.
Hastings skate park also has a playground next door, a little further up is toilets, a pool and a place to grab some food. Along with the cache that follows along past all these things this pit stop equals fun for all the family
Hey he is cute, bonus smiley for the bonus smiley.
If you're after caches the nearest is GC225F0 - Norris Rocks only a short 150m stroll away.
This skate park is the best looking one I ve ever seen. There were a family of young kids from NSW having a ball on the half pipe even though they didn't have a wheel between them. The local kids had gone back to school, but they still had a week to go. I went past the previous afternoon after school hours and the place was packed.

No-one skating today, but it was the middle of a school day.
This park is next to the swimming pool here in Revesby, a Sydney Suburb, and is usually busy outside school hours. It seems to be in fine condition.
TFTC
In the photo, less than 2 metres from her is also a cache of ours called L is for... (GC20TR1)
S 34° 42.869 E 138° 40.217 is the coords for the cache.
The closest GC.com cache is GC1QQRA - Scene of the crime, a multi. The closest GCA cache is GA1080 - Joshua's 2nd Birthday Bash Cache.
What else can you do around this skate park? There is Lilydale Lake for walking, cycling, kayaking, sailing or fishing. There is also a track for racing RC cars.
Geokid didn't rate this one too high.
- A Rose by Any Other Name;
- Valley Lake #1, Bridge;
- Valley Lake #2, Clifftop;
- Valley Lake #3, Lakeside.
This photo was taken early in the morning, hence the deserted park. However, it's normally full of keen skaters and bikers. Enjoy!
GC13H9G- Harrington Trig Station is very close but just up the hill.
There is nothing very special about the skate park but you could still have fun on it though.
MY 200TH FIND!!!!11

The skate park is located near the aquatic centre, and has half pipes, humps, grind rails and all the other popular items. There are also two gazebos with seating, and parking and toilets nearby. I think it's the biggest skate park I've seen, I had to stand a long way back and use full wide angle to get it all in.

The skate park is located in Jean Garvey Park, Ashburton Drive, Gosnells WA, and has half pipes, humps, grind rails and all the other popular items, and is very popular with the young folk. It is even floodlit at night, how good is that? Of course if you're not into skating etc there is always my cache nearby, GC177G5 WanAus 13 - Jean Garvey Park.

The nearest cache is GC1XAHY: Cycle Mania - Altone Park, which uses the same carpark of the rec centre, and is less than 250m away. Definitely walking distance.
The skate park is located in Collins Reserve, Fulham Gardens SA, and seems to be two similar large depressions with hills in the middle, and a couple of grind rails, but the young blokes there seemed to be enjoying it.

We walked from the south via Camels on the 'Nard GC1NKMX and KINGFISHER
GCZA8V but Platy's Mob Juniors Caching Endeavours GC16PN7 which we drove to in the heat is also nearby.
This skate park is the biggest I've ever seen, and surprisingly it was unoccupied when I swung past to take some photos. It's almost half a century since I last had skates on, and my bones are a lot more fragile now, so I decided not to try out the facilities.

There was no-one there which was a surprise but then I realised that it was a Wednesday and most skaters would have been in school.
This skate ramp is only a couple of years old and is very popular. The interesting thing about it are that it was built in sight of the main road into Victor Harbor and so the skaters are under constant public view, which makes it a very good ramp. Younger children are able to use it as well as the older ones. Next to it the Victor Harbor council have built a teens playground.
The skate park consisted of two bowl shape things (I dont know about it sorry) which I think might be called half pipes??? Anyhow it is always popular and as you can see in the photos was busy today.
