Description

Like the book caches, photographs of records are required to have some form of identification on the record cover and it would be good if there is some background around the record cover indicating that you have taken the photo of the LP, not lifted it off the internet.  Apologies but no one has to do this series of caches if they don't like the requirements.  Thanks.

Today I am looking for an album whose title begins with "S".  To log this cache please include the name of the album in your log and ensure your identification is clearly visible on the photo.

In line with amendments made to requirements for listing and finding a Locationess geocache, this geocache has been reviewed and found not be in line with the listing requirements.
Locationless Cache Wiki Information
Armchair style Locationless caches where the finder is not required to explore the real world, identify a location and accompany the 'Find' with photographic evidence are no longer accepted.
A Locationless cache listing must require the finder to locate an object or perform a task in the real world, collect the co-ordinates and log the find with accompanying photographic evidence.
The geocaching community would like to thank you for listing this Locationess geocache and congratulations to all that found this locationless geocache.
As the geocache no longer meets the requirements we will archive the cache listing.

"Savage Amusement" - Scorpions. I think this was the first album to come out since I'd start getting into the Scorpions, and it took a long time to grow on me. It's not as raw as the earlier albums and I thought was a bit overproduced. I like the video of "Rhythm of Love" - reminds me of Bladerunner Smile TFTLC!

THE CUT & PASTEY BIT: I’m not sure how long some of these locationless GCA caches will be around for, but there’s only a finite number now that Covid is hopefully mostly past. In any case I was enthused today to check out my old records, and I hope you like the photos! I know I will enjoy checking out the galleries after to see what other people have added. Cheers all! Smile

Roger Taylor is the drummer from Queen. This is his second solo album Strange Frontier. Taylor is very prolific, having many solo albums, as well a as albums with his band The Cross throughout the 90s. A very talented multi instrumentalist. VERY underrated in many ways. He wrote quite a few of Queen's hits...but then, all four members of the band wrote hits.

Scorcher
An album with a mix of songs written on a bikini girl's stomach.. Laughing I usually liked most songs on LP's made from hit songs of the time so they were good value. TFTL Smittengranny

I have just come back from a week up north, in part clearing out my parents' storage shed. Which came with a large variety of LPs so I have some unusual ones to choose from. Now to dust off the LP player that came with it and see what they are like! This one is from 1956 as a Philips release, Satch plays Fats. The cover isn't in the best condition but still something a bit different. Thanks Smittengranny.

Our choice for S is Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones. Produced in 1971,it contains such hits as Brown Sugar, Wild Horses and Can't You Hear Me Knocking.
Another band that is still going strong nearly 50 years later.
I hope you keep the series going as I have most of the remaining letters covered.
If not, have really enjoyed the trip down memory lane.
Thanks

Sweet Fanny Adams is the second album by Sweet, their first of two released in 1974, and also their first album simply as Sweet. The album was a turning point and change in the band's sound. It featured more of a hard rock sound than their previous pop records.

The album title is English (originally Royal Navy) slang originating from the murder of eight-year-old Fanny Adams in 1867 and means "nothing at all" as well as a similar euphemism "F.A." = "f*** all".

Sweet Fanny Adams reached No. 27 on the UK Albums Chart in the year of its release by RCA Records in 1974 and No. 2 in the albums chart of West Germany. It was not released in the US, but five of its tracks appeared on the US version of the album Desolation Boulevard released in July 1975.

S is for Shazam (1969) by The Move

Interestingly, Shazam was the last album with Roy Wood, who was replaced by Jeff Lynne, who would both go on to found Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) together.

Thanks and Happy Trails!
