Description
J & J's sixth cache hide. An easy drive by at an historic well.
This site was quite an important source of water for the region back in it's hey day. But the then high tech Beetaloo Dam brought an end to this little council money spinner.
Thankfully it's been left intact and even restored by the Bute council for us all to visit, and as of now, find a cache as well. The container is only small (300ml) but contains log book and pen as well as a few swaps. Enjoy your visit.

A quick find for us today, enjoying a bit of rare sunshine for a country drive along a few back roads collecting the odd cache, well maintained piece of history

Have driven past this spot a couple of times over the years, I've even found this cache once before when it was listed as a GC cache
A quick stop and find today, signed the log sheet and returned to the little cairn it resides in. Cache is still in good condition

Our favorite find for today!!! A cache in an interesting hisoric place, in good condition and which hadn't been found for over 4 years.
We were surprised to see that Ninnes Well and its surrounds were well kept and easy to access. Thoroughly enjoyed reading the history but the crowning glory was the discovery of a Paternoster "Little Gem", a unique little 36 vane windmill. Having completed 11 of MtbikerOz's Great Aussie Icon Hunt multis, based on windmills located around Australia, and started 3 of the final 5 we thought we'd seen every brand of Australian windmill; but no, before today we had not set eyes on a Paternoster "Little Gem". What a thrill!
The cache container was soon located and although it feels quite brittle the container and contents were in very good condition. We signed the log and were surprised to find that this cache was last found in July 2012, over 4 years ago. As the zip lock log bag was torn we replaced it with a new one that will hopefully protect the log for another 4 years. Finally we returned the container to its hide.
Thanks J_&_J for a memorable caching experience. We hope this cache will get more visits in the future.
