Description

Have your photo taken at the Manangatang Mural

Manangatang is a small town we stopped at on our journey from Shepparton to Mildura.

The townsfolk are obviously proud of their mural and have signs attached to painted bicycle frames to point you in the right direction.

If you are too shy to have your photo taken here, a photo of your GPS with the mural will be fine.

By turning this mural into a virtual cache I thought it might encourage travellers to break their journey here and stretch their legs.

No problem getting a spot to park your car here.

Congratulations WazzaAndWenches on FTF

It was worth stopping just to say we've found a cache in Manangatang. Cool We didn't have any luck with the other but we're fairly good at finding murals. TFTV Cybergran V.

We noticed that there was a mural at Manangatang as we drive through. So we turned around and went back. Certainly a close finish in this mural Thanks Cybergran V for an enjoyable mural.

On my way from Ararat to Mildura for a couple of days caching with family and friends. A nice early start as I headed out to grab a few caches and waymarks along to way to catching up with them. Shadows starting to get a bit longer now. Out and about taking the roads less travelled. Dancing Thanks for a chance to stretch the legs.

*Apologies for the late log Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the cache Val and for bringing me here. Clapping

On my way from Mildura to Swan Hill this afternoon and I reckon that was Wazza driving the bus northbound up the road. We gave each other a friendly wave regardless, as you do in the scrub.
Dropped in here to take some photos before continuing on my way. Cool
We've been here before, when we visited 'Elvis' a while back, also on our way to Swan Hill. Except that was for a geocaching event, today was just work. (With the odd cache thrown in) Laughing

Having driven the Mallee Highway through this town on many, many ocassions over recent months I have had to look wishfully in the direction of this mural. I'm afraid passengers just don't understand the importance of being delayed so the driver can find a cache.

I didn't have passengers to worry about today. In fact, the drive was 690km without any passengers. Any there's enough fat in the timetable that I can stop for a couple of minutes here and there. I wasted too long chasing the compass needle around and around in the bush at Ouyen then had to rush to find a cache in Underbool before returning to Manang for this mural.

The closest I could get without going through the 3 minute "park the bus" routine was across the road.

Stopping here to use their very clean conveniences, we noted the signs leading to this mural, very conveniently across the road.
Worth having a look at the mural.
There is a GC Multi Cache here also, but we didn’t have time for that one, perhaps next time, if we are ever allowed to travel again!
