Description
We've all got one, but don't like using sometimes, especially if a cache is calling. The cache is not at the above co-ordinates.
Mowed the lawns today and thought that I'd post a cache requiring the following:
1. Photograph the mower (not a distant shot) you use to keep the grass trim and neat and post in your log;
2. Name it's maker;
3. Roughly how old it is;
4. What "cc" capacity it is; if it is not an old fashioned push type, in which case log its "horsepower";
5. The date that you personally last used it!
Only one log per cacher please and include your GPS in the photograph along with the co-ords or the rounded out co-ords of the mower's home.
Enjoy your gardening (or should that be toiling) and stop thinking that you could be caching instead!!

This is an oldy but a goody
Its a Scotts Bonnar drum mower, roughly 30 years old and 3Hp
I last used it about 5 years ago.
When I moved out to go to uni we were given an old 2 stroke mower that was loud and smokey and a pain to start, no matter how many times I stripped it down and cleaned it all out.
We eventually upgraded to this Ryobi battery powered job. Wouldn't want to be slashing a paddock with it but it does the job for our house and the scout hall, and it's quiet and we don't have to worry about storing and using fuel with the kids around.
Here are the details:
Maker: Ryobi
Age: about 5 years
Capacity: 36V, 800W
Last used: 11 Feb 2022 (All the rain has put a stop to outdoor work at our house)
Me Mower is a Talon
Probably 145 cc capacity 4 stroke engine.
Guessing it is somewhere between 15 - 20 years old
Rounded Location S41 22.000 E147 07.000
An oldie but a goodie
The lawn was mowed yesterday, 11/11/2020
Thanks for the Locationless Cache OldSaint
However he is currently in Tasmania helpin’ paint our son’s house.
But me lawns needed mowin’ so I called in our other son dalerious. So today he was me mower.
This is a more recent model of mower. He’s a 1968 model, and fer a mower that’s over fifty years old, I reckon he did a pretty good job today!
In me younger days I used ter be damn fine mower meself, but unfortunately I suffered lawn mowin’ amnesia as a result of eatin’ some of our weddin’ cake on the day we got hitched.
Thanks fer the Locationless OldSaint
This is our mower:
Masport 400 Four Stroke approx 150cc
(Photos attached)
TFTC
I think it's a 260cc engine - It's loud, and it destroys everything you throw at it - still
I've borrowed other mowers that come nowhere near this one..
I mowed the lawn about 3 weeks ago!
TFTC OldSaint
160cc mower last used by me in october 2016. Have been quite crook since.
TFTC..cheers.
This one however is my one, its a bit of a disgrace really.
1. Location - My garden shed along with a lot of other stuff that never gets used.
2. Name it's maker; - No idea guessing Briggs & Stratton.
3. Roughly how old it is; - VERY! trying to remember if we brought it with us from Ireland, if so 25+ years old.
4. What "cc" capacity it is; if it is not an old fashioned push type, in which case log its "horsepower"; No idea again, sorry, it was never me who used it. does the 50 on it count for anything?
5. The date that you personally last used it! - Never did.
I can't include a GPS because it is my iphone & its the camera I used for the photos. So I put Seeka on the top of the mower.
Model: Ryobi
Motor: Subaru 190cc 4 stroke
Age: 4 years but still looks like new!!
Last used: a couple of days before i went on holidays which makes it exactly 3 weeks. I just got back home today so it will be used very soon
It's a 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton 3.75hp.
I last used it just before Xmas to tidy up the yard for all the freeloaders to come over.
The photo is of the mower in the shed, just where I like it.
Talon tough tools
we have had it a couple of years but dont know how long exactly
four stroke engine
i don't personally use it as i break out in hives when i use mowers
We've have had it for a couple of years now, previously we were using Dad's old mower that we inherited when he died in 1995, it was at least 10yrs old then and we used it for another 20years. When it became a little unreliable we decided it was time for a change .
Engine Size: 5.5hp OHV/OHC engine
When last used: Yesterday
Extra information: Tend not to use the catcher, instead use it in mulching mode
It is just on two years siunce I had to reluctantly part with my 22 year old Victa. The enguine is 150cc capacity. Last used on the 22nd of December 2016 and with the current heat and some little rain about will pmore than likely be back in action within the next 7 days. The GPSr is on top of the engine in the photo. TFTL OldSaint
The normal mower is a victa, and is used on the grass at home - well it used to be before we engaged the services of a gardner. The date I last used it would be August-ish 2016. I got it second hand from a local mower place, that has since disappeared, about 2005 - and it still starts first go. I can't see the capacity marked on the mower.
The ride on is a rover, and is used to clear a firebreak in Kinglake - well it used to be before the engine bolts sheared off, and my wife told me not to stuff around trying to fix it (yet again). This season's firebreak wazs done using the brushcutter (not in the picture) and a hired walk behind slasher. The date I last used it would be December 2015. I got this second hand from the father-in-law of a previous work friend, in about 2011. The capacity is a 10.5 hp motor.
Using as a claim for my Summer Scavenger Series.
Thanks for the locationless OldSaint.
Morrison, with a Briggs & Stratton motor.
Roughly how old it is;
Likely over 30 years.
What "cc" capacity it is; if it is not an old fashioned push type, in which case log its "horsepower";
148cc
The date that you personally last used it!
Three years ago.
I have now landscaped the garden and replaced the lawn (mown weeds) with wood chips, vegetable gardens and ground coverings, so the mower is no longer used; hence the state of the place it is stored. It will be going to a new home though soon, as it still works well.
Mr T is about to mow so used today 2nd January 2017
I would have last used it about 3 weeks ago I think. I often mow the easy and flat bit of lawn out the front and let G mow the rest for us as he's stronger!
Roughly how old it is; 3 years
What "cc" capacity it is; 123cc
The date that you personally last used it! Christmas Eve so I should be out there now rather than doing Locs via my Waymarking armchair, although did have to get it out of the shed which is a start.
The old one reached its use by date but unfortunately they "don't make them like they used to" so this one wont last as long.
The mower was second hand when he got it 30 years ago. It is on it's second Briggs and Stratton motor and is 8 hp. Thanks OldSaint for the interesting locationless which I am using as part of the Summer Scavenger Series games. Happy New Year
Roughly 12 years old
Engine capacity is 18 horsepower
Never used myself but Geo hubby and Geo son use all the time including today when photo was taken.
Age: ?? no idea, at a guess about 5 years
CC : 140
Last used it: Nope, not me, it's hubz favourite job.
We got this secondhand earlier in the year as my old faithful Victa curled up its blades and blew up in a puff of smoke.
Honda HRU19R
About 12 years old
160 cc motor
Last used today after a three week rest!
TFTC OldSaint
It's a Rover i5500.
Not sure of the engine size.
It's a couple of years old but just recently given to us by an Aunt who was having trouble with it.
Last used about 5 mins ago.
- Masport
- It's about 2 years old
- 140cc
- I used it last weekend : )
TFTLC!
As anyone who has grabbed our cache Pegarah Palisade can see our driveway is quite long and wide. For the last 20 years we have put electric tapes at the top and bottom and let the horses down there to do the 'mowing'. Alas the horses are now all gone and last spring the area was cut using a whipper snipper. This involved hours of work so 4 days ago we bit the bullet and bought a ride on.
Then we had to wait 3 days before it would stop raining long enough to mow it.
It is a 21 horse power Husquvarna and was finally used yesterday for the first time. It has now done 30 minutes of work [but that is better than 4 or 5 hours whipper snippering].
Thanks.
It is an Ariens Zoom 42 XL, a 24HP/726cc Twin Engine with a 54" cutting width
Had to mow the lawn today to keep the peace at home. There were about three caches I had lined up, so it was a bit of a downer. Anyway, lawn mowed and then I thought a locationless for this mus be out there. And I found it. Perfect a cache for keeping the peace.
All I can tell you about the lawn mower is
A) it's red
B) it's 4 stroke (apparently that is important when you buy fuel for it)
C) it cuts grass
Going by the 375 on the top I would have to guess this is horsepower. Anyway it's a rover (not the scouting variety)

The one on the right is a Victa which I've had since 1995 from new, originally in a shared arrangement with the b-i-l. It's a 4 stroke with 207 ccs of pure grunt but it's one of those mowers that will start first time or it won't start for 20 minutes so save your arm. I think they all have Briggs and Stratton engines don't they? It has some problem where the catcher keeps falling off so I use the other mower.
The one on the left is the Rover which has a two stroke Suzuki motor and I inherited this one from the f-i-l when the other was in for repairs years ago. He didn't want it back and now it's the mower of choice. I'd say it's at least 20 years old and still does the job.
Mowed about two weeks ago and it's only winter grass at present but I'll have to mow again this weekend.
TFTC and the Lorne Greene
Scott Bonner Green Keeper SX 4000 4 stroke.
Does what I need it to, so it's all good by me.
TFTL
It's an MTD with a 11.5HP Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke and a 32 inch deck.
It mowed the lawns about 1 hour prior to the photo, though I haven't used it myself for about a month.
Photo of "Me Mower" attached !
It's a Victa Vantage 148 cc which I bought 6 months ago. I last used it 6 days ago (20/2/2011) to cut the rapidly growing grass/weeds of my backyard @ approx S 35 11.000 E 149 06 300 !!
TFTC !!
He is a real work horse.
Existed in the family for at least 20 years.
He's a semi industrial workhorse so he'd have a few HP under his hood.
He just had a work out t oday!!
It's a Victa with a Briggs and Stratton engine. It's about 5 years old and 3hp and I last used it about a week ago. When I think about it the lawn is about due again although this hot weather will slow it down.
But it was still raining and also incredibly foggy! So I decided to finally log 'Me Mower!!' to commemorate the milestone day.
The photo shows my Talon Falcon 460 four-stroke, 145cc. It's not one of the more expensive mowers on the market, and I assume it was manufactured somewhere in the vastness of China!
I bought it slightly more than three years ago at the Dural Bunnings, and it's served me well. Starts every time and seems to keep going.
Of course, I don't have very much in the way of lawns to mow. Our Leura property is only just over 800 square metres, with small front and back yards and a nature strip.
I also have an old-fashioned non-powered mower and an electric mower, but I never use them.
It's been nearly ten days since I last used 'me mower' and my lawn is showing it! Maybe tomorrow . . .
Coordinates are of the roundabout at the intersection of Leura Mall and Megalong Street.
1. Photograph the mower - attached
2. Name it's maker - Victa, Briggs and Stratton engine.
3. Roughly how old is it? - 9 years old (yes I take care of it)
4. What "cc" capacity is it? - 148cc
5. The date that I personally last used it? 11th Dec 2010.
It was a great sunny day, finally, after all that rain. Even replaced the blades. She purrs like a cougar if you tighten the bolts up properly
it is a masport with a Briggs and stratons motor
Bought 1972!!!, yes, 1972.
3 Horsepower!
Last used about a month ago.
So alas - it was time to wheel out the zombie mower.
My mower used to be alive, but then it died. Fortunately that hasn't stopped it working yet, so it's officially a zombie. Blows a lot of smoke, sounds unhealthy, but still cuts the grass.
Long live the undead mower!
(co-ords are approx - and I forgot to put the GPS in the shot, sorry)
It's about a 10 year old Victa V40 (40cc) 2 stroke push mower that is a mongrel to start but gets the job done! Growing season is coming, will get more exercise soon!
We have a Victa Pace V160 which was given to us about 3 years ago by my Mother in law.
I have personally never used it, hubby is the lawn mower man and he last used it far too long ago for me to remember - thinking about a month ago on the front lawn.
It has a 5.5HP GX 4 stroke motor and its only about a year old.
It hasnt been used for a few weeks as can be seen by the untidy grass.
We have had it for about 15 years and it is a mulcher mower so we don't need to worry about a grass catcher.
FLYMO - 375CC SPRINT BRIGGS & STRATTON motor, SAXON series 4 stroke
I've owned it for about 10 ten years or more and it was second hand when I bought it. I recent had it completed serviced; new throttle cable, lots of missing bolts replaced, new oil, spark plug and the engine serviced. I was so impressed with the bloke at the Jamison trash n treasure that did the job for $50!
I don't mow very often (we have chickens) and it's probably two months since I've used it. TFTC!
I pulled out the trusty mower today to reduce the weed patch to a reasonable height after all the unusual rain we have had recently sent it very wild. My poor mower is a Victa and is getting on for 30years old as I inherited it from my grandparents when they no longer needed it in the early nineties. Albida.
The mower is a Rover Professional series with a 6 hp briggs & stratton with overhead cam. Not sure how old it as, because i found it at the recycle markets for $10. It just needed the correct spark plug installed and it started first go and still does!
It's a Victa Supa, 2 stroke mower about 10 years old. CC rating unknown.
I last used it Sunday 7 March 2010, when we had a working bee at the gardens.
We got it 3 years ago and used it probably a month ago to mow down the dandelions.
I also have to admit I don't enjoy gardening and nor does Mr red tag so we have someone come once a week who takes care of it all for us.
We would sooner be caching
Thanks OldSaint
It is I, Sonic the super bird!
Since I do not do the mowing as I am a cockatiel, I have gathered information from PF2 about our lawn mower and this is what I got:
It's a Victa 2 Stroke. It's over 20 years old, as my owners have had it "for a while". 160 cc and used it a couple of weeks ago.
As you can see in the photo, PF2 doesn't use it much, its been through alot and it lives downstairs.
Our motor for our mower is similar to Cheesy Pigs'-But ours runs on methane that it produces, which let me tell you, it stinks REAL BAD.
TFTC OldSaint.
Over and out,
SONIC THE SUPER BIRD.
I can't remember when mine was acquired, but I didn't mow any lawns at all between about September 2000 and December 2006. SWMBO did all the mowing during that period due to my extensive health problems.
SWMBO won her Victa Tornado Edge Mulch or Catch mower with a Victa EcoTorque VEX60 2 stroke engine as part of a package comprising the mower, a brush cutter and a yard vac. I can't remember which breakfast TV show but it was probably Sunrise. It was won sometime in Spring 2007, but delivery was not made until almost Spring 2008 - our son had to take delivery because we were on our annual "Climatic Refugee" trip.
While we are away our son uses the Mulch method to look after our lawns, but when I do it I use the Catcher. Last time I mowed the lawn was yesterday evening starting at 7 PM, after a days caching.

PS. Coords are for my nearest cache, GC180EJ WanAus 30 - Tranquil Lake, a very short walk from home.
The brand is commando, wich suited the need!
As is was a gift, I have no idea how much CC it has and I can only estimate it would be at least 10 years old?
The mower is a Rover, about 8 years old, capacity unknown & have lost the book. It only uses half the quanity of oil (50:1). My dog (bull mastif X) wanted his photo taken so have included him. He is why you won't be found in my back yard.
Woof.
