Description

J & J's eighteenth cache hide. An easy drive-by on a rocky incline, along the Northern edge of The Hummocks.

This geocache has been placed in honour of the 10th anniversary of geocaching in Australia!

Details of this event can be seen >here<.

The location of this cache is along a rugged dirt road, that is steep in some sections. A 2WD vehicle can access this track, but good ground clearance would be benificial. If approaching from the East, I'd recomend a 4WD vehicle, as the terrain is not only rough, but uphill as well!

We chose to place a geocache here after looking for interesting places through Google Earth's Street View. The track looked rough, and not often used, but if the Google mobile could traverse it, so could we!

The container is a black PVC plumbing contraption with a screw-top lid. It holds a number of new swaps as well as the obligatory log book and pen.

There is also a Geocaching Australia FTF pathtag for the first visitor.

Happy hunting!

A sunny but cool day's caching with Purrfect Di, Sebastbat, and Jack, brought us to your cache Cool

Had been nearby for another cache a few months back, but missed the GCA ones!!

A nice drive by on a track that was better than I remembered Cool

Still in good condition.

This cache was checked today and we are pleased to announce it is still in brand new condition inside. Some of the paint is wearing off of the outside, but that's to be expected.

There are a number of names in the logbook that don't have a matching log online!

After finding the Sanctuary in the hummocks cache I took the off-road cruze along some lovely tracks to get to this cache. Great views along the way, even saw a couple of roos and a heap of grass parrots as I was driving along Mr. Green and then eventually a nice big, easy cache to find at GZ as well
Cheers & TFTC J & J

Never realised there was a track across the Hummocks and it certainly was a interesting drive but was worth it for a FTF on a 10th anniversary cache. Thanks J_&_J
