Description
Last weekend we travelled to Ballarat to complete the second half of their new GeoTour. It took us to many historically interesting places, such as the Sturt Street Statues, Eureka Sockade, and to some beaut lookouts such as Mt Buninyong.
This also had the added bonus of finding an old maccamob cache up on top, as well as one by n0w0rries. And if you looked far enough from the top you could see the wind farms below.
Congratulations 2y'stassies on FTF

Well I don't seem to get in here too much any more but how could I pass up this wonderful view?
A sight we have seen on many different occasions and never tire of.
I'm glad you and Dale enjoyed my cache. It sat in our car for two years and then one day when we were parked near the comms tower, +Wife stated "this is the perfect location for the cache hiding under my seat" and she was quite right too.
Thanks for the jigidi, the cache and the logs on our cache too Val.

A cold wet miserable day here and I have lit the fire for some cheer. What better thing to do than complete jigsaws. Thanks for the puzzle Cybergran. The weather there certainly looks better than up here at the moment.

Thanks Cybergran V for the photo, jigsaw and cache. Hope to be at Mt Buninyong later this week. FTF
I highly recommend the GeoTour at Ballarat. It took us two visits to complete the series, but then we attended three events there as well last weekend, with the Breakfast, CITO, and GeoTour #3 Event.
It takes you not only through the city but to many outlying places of interest as well. It would take you much longer if you stopped to explore these places as you went.
Ballarat has a wide range of geocache types as well, including half a dozen Adventure Lab series, of which we only had time to do one of them.
It doesn’t seem to have as much accommodation as it needs though as we weren’t the only ones there who could not get a bed on Saturday night, it pays to book ahead if you intend to travel there.
