Description
Just out of Avoca is the old gold mining area of Percydale. Once a thriving mining community now being reclaimed by the Australian bush.
We were brought to the area by the new Adventure Lab caches there, and the other GC caches highlighting what is left of the mining history here.
It is well worth the visit, even if just to do the Earthcache there.

I have been accumulating a huge amount of jigsaw puzzle locationless caches and I thought I'd do one or two.

Thanks for another good jigsaw Cybergran V. It is good to see how well the environment bounces back after devastation if it is left alone
Another good one. Might not be able to do too much here in Melbourne Metro but great to be able to have locationless caches to help pass the time. Thanks for another puzzle Cybergran V

Imagine this scene all those years ago, stripped bare of trees and foliage as hundreds of men scrambled for gold.
Isn’t Mother Nature amazing the way she reclaims the land, forgives the damage caused, and just gets on with reclaiming her land?
