Description

Come and watch O'Malley Grow!

I like to walk in this area and I can assure you that there's plenty of interesting architecture to be seen from this location. This is a nice spot, an easy distance from a maintainance road so there's no reason to bash the bush in the area. You can walk over from the Red Hill reserve parking or if you are careful pull of Hindamarsh drive onto the dirt area before a maintainance access about half way up the hill.

A really quick sign of this cache as it had started to rain as I came down from the trig. SL as SG to keep log dry as possible. TFTC Cazbol. Very Happy

Ribbit Walking around Red Hill today and this was next on the map. Took a second look to spot the cache but thankfully no dnf here! The cache is a bit damp but logbook is nice and dry. Lots of views all over the place up here. Thanks cazbol Ribbit

#GA392 - 17:00; I had this cache on the 'to do' list during the dZ triple point fortnight and time was running out. After dropping the geograndson home after an overnight stay, made my way over and parked quite close. It was only a short walk to GZ where I soon had the cache in hand and log signed. Walking to woden from work at the TGA. Saw a GCA cache on the way so of course had to stop to get it. Nice easy trails, a fairly simple find and some wonderful views on the walk that you don't see when in the car. TFTC

07-Mar-14
Stopped by to grab this one while meandering around Red Hill. Nice sized container.

18-Aug-13
On a stroll around Red Hill, found this in an easily accessible spot. Cache was not covered, but it's reasonably secluded where it is. Took an overview of O'Malley, then on my way again...

TNLN - Thanks cazbol!

This certainlt is an interesting tree. We can only speculate about how it came to grow that way. Accurate coodinates and the hint led to a quick find. the cache and its contents were in good condition. TFTC.

24-Apr-12
Came close by here this morning so went to pick this up just before a shower set in. A surprising find of a PT so took that and left one of my own. Thanks for the cache cazbol! Nice big and dry box.

28-Jan-12
Found @ 1350 - nicely camo'd, but the spot-on coordinates took me right there. Hopefully the most recent of many GA finds, now that there's an Android app that makes spontaneous caching possible (thanks mtrax!) Took 'CITO Kit', left pathtag, SL-TFTC.

Found on a GA caching run through Red Hill reserve. Made a beeline to the cache, to discover a fence in the way...After finding a way over it the cache was found after a brief search. Thanks.

GCA 206 - 4154. Found during a nearby Meander !

Quick find as we were walking by for a GC cache - Thanks !

TFTC !!

13-Jun-11
It was an easy find. The clue really helped. Cool hiding spot. Nice area. TNLN. Thanks. Clapping

09-Jun-11
This was a nice easy find on the way back down from a GC cache up the hill. Scored a cazbol path tag so hugely chuffed. Thanks for the cache, and another GCA one off the list!

29-May-11
our very first day of geocaching... didn't find this one... lack of experience??? can't say I saw any lovely trees but some good view of bad architecture.

28-May-11
Great location for a view of all the O'Malley McMansions. You'd think that with how much they cost, they could by some architectural design.... Evil or Very Mad

However, this was a nice spot to stop and apparently some muggles thought so too, they left some really funny artwork in the logbook - well, it made me chuckle anyway.

This was CazBol and my first cache on our way up the hill - nice and easy.

I can't believe I have left this one unfound for so long! Today it was an easy find after a trek "over the hill" but by the time I arrived here I was sodden (or my shoes & socks were - very squelchy). I was glad of the seat to log my find, but another walker pass by before I was done & I think she may have suspected I was up to something quite different! TFTC.

Grabbed on the way home this afternoon. Surprised at how close i could park to the GZ. A nice asy walk from there.

Thanks for the cache Cazbol.

02-Jan-11
Went for a walk up the hill with Anna this afternoon. Got fairly humid, but a good start to the afternoon.
Saw a rather large (close to 2m) Kangaroo utilising an underground crossing under Hindmarsh Drive as we walked up the hill - he didn't seem too happy to see us though.
Thanks for the cache.

24-Dec-10
I was up here with Geodog and finding the nearby mystery, only a short walk and after a short search found it, a pity I missed the nearby Gnome but only noticed there was another one across the road, anyway nice walk and thanks

23-Nov-10
Somehow the night always has a way of making the easy seem difficult, as in this case ! Embarassed
The walk up the hill was easy, but finding even that decent sized cache took a little searching, but find it I did ! Very Happy
Thanks for the cache, cazbol !

06-Nov-10
Was in the area with Norkmeister picking up some puzzles on the hill that had been driving me even more batty for ...hmmm...about a year I think! Nice to have something straight forward to aim at as well.

06-Nov-10
In the area with BatGirl picking up a couple of puzzles and found we were only 150 metres away from this one so we decided to pop past and do it. All was in good order.

Thanks Cazbol.

27-Oct-10
Busy traffic but nice stroll up from road.

13-Oct-10
Visited the cache and had a walk further up the hill too. It was dark and wet so the view was very different to usual. Well worth the wander.

Thanks.

155. A pleasant walk in an area that I have been by a couple of times before. The funny part was as I approached my car after the find I got to see a couple of honey-eaters beating the living day;lights out of my side windows and external mirrors. Obviously threatened by their own reflection. Cute plus.

TFTC and the oh oh.

05-Sep-10
It wasnt the nicest day for caching, but I wasnt going to let that stop me getting a couple of Fathers Day finds. A nice little spot with decent views but not too taxing to get to.

Thanks very much!

17-Jul-10
Parked at the nearby gate, for this easy find. Good view over O'Malley and I could see where I was looking for another cache earlier in the day. Not many tracks near the GZ, but it was still an easy find. There was a muddy section on the nearby trail that showed all the traffic that passes, surprisingly there were tracks from somebody walking barefooted!

After coming off red hill I was exhausted but still wanted caching so, got to this gz and started my search for this one. I kicked it and found it quickly TFTC

05-Jun-10
Found with SecretSquirrel-BJC.

Last find for the day (22 all up). Crikey there are some mansions being build over in O'Malley.

05-Jun-10
113+1899=2012 with Captain Tomato

Thanks cazbol – it is a good view over O’Malley – one of the new houses (or is it an embassy) going up there is monstrous, and ornate with columns.

05-Jun-10
Certainly a nice view over OMally. Nice easy find. The only tricky thing was getting back into the traffic!

30-May-10
A quick find in the light morning rain. SL TNLN

26-May-10
Parked in Garran, hopped over the equestrian grid and a short stroll along the firetrail to GZ. A not so fine view over the Hindmarsh rush hour traffic to all the ugliness that has subverted what used to be superb yellow box forested eastern O'Malley.

But a nice big cache Cazbol, thanks, and still nice and dry after the rain.

22-May-10
I you were heading for a few other caches this would be a good place to start. Albida

22-May-10
Yep, lots of BIG mansions over there, Thanks.

19-May-10
I dropped in on this cache after dropping ms m_family to work. I took the dodgy Hindmarsh Drive parking approach. Fortunately the road was quiet.

18-May-10
Lots of 10th anniversary caches coming on line Smile
The first 2 I look for I DNF Sad
Then I get 2 FTFs Smile
The next couple of caches I have been beaten to by a few minutes Sad
two new anniversary caches pop up at morning tea time Smile
And I get FTF Very Happy

The smilies have it. It has been a hard night but good fun.

Since the GPS told me that "O'Malley Overview" was just about 1km away from Old Red" I decided to walk over Mt Davidson rather than drive around.

What a great idea. The ridge down to GZ from Davidson is a great walk...
and I get a *FTF*

Now I have to get back to the car.
