Description

Have a look at the pointy end of Nambung National Park

When you are a bit further from home than you anticipated, why not look for a cache? There has been a movable GCA cache at Nambung National Park's Pinnacles for a few weeks and it seems like a good place for a permanent cache.

Plenty to see in this area too - after you wander the Pinnacles Desert at sunrise (please take a map, decent footwear and a litre of water per person if you intend to go beyond the marked tourist trails), head over to see the stromatalites at Lake Thetis, one of the earliest forms of life to evolve on earth. You could do worse than visit Hansen Bay Lookout, one kilometre south of Cervantes townsite, and Molah Hill Lookout, about 11 kilometres north of Cervantes.

Inspiration by aussie-O's and AusTrackers, hope they don't mind.

Limestone coloured 400ml sistema, logbook, pencil, etc.

Thanks Briggbottoms

Found very quickly after a great drive around The Pinnacles. We love the area.
Thanks for adding to the experience by hiding a cache for us to find Briggbottoms.

Stopped off here on our return trip to Monkey Mia. Was last here about 1995, so pre geocaching days. TFTC

I came to see the frog, but it appears that he has moved on. At least this traditional is still in place and in good condition. Easy grasp in between bursts of muggles checking out the pointy rocks sticking out of the ground. TFTC

It's been 28 years since our last visit to The Pinnacles - a lot of changes since then . Thanks Briggbottoms

We made the find with richlink on a trip north to Jurien and Geraldton. Thanks for this cache Briggbottoms.

We stopped to check out the sights and I grabbed this one on the way. It is a fast find with few muggles as they keep heading straight to the obvious look outs.

Unfortunately it is a bit messy inside due to water ingress, but the log is fine.

Thanks for the cache

Cheers Cool

Found the cache after a couple of muggles moved on and left the place deserted. Just managed to replace the cache before the next group arrived. Most of the contents have rusted as it looks like the cache was full of water at some time in the past.

So nice to be able to log a GCA cache in this amazing National Park. Those pinnacle spires are mind blowing. WOW!! Thanks so much for allowing us to log this on top of all the spectacular scenery.

A quick grab while the spot was clear of muggles. We drained the water out of the cache, the log was damp but still easy to write on. Thanks.

Great fun to find this cache! After 3 fruitless searches in Cervantes, this was a very welcome cache for the kids. TFTC!

Nice find whilst travelling home from the North for the last week. TFTC Clapping At least it wasn't raining when we were here. Although very overcast and really trying to rain. Dodge the muggles to make a find. Goodness knows how hard it will be in the busy time of year.

STF: A nice quick find after found Pinnacles - Enigmas in stone Earthcache nearby. Had to take the cache with me when the muggles came and sat down for lunch and I do not want them to see what I am going to place it back in the hiiden place. Took it and walked away for a while and came back when the coast is clear and returned it into the hidden place. Hope that the cachers didn't turn up in searching it when I had it with me. Enjoyed wandering and look at the information boards and scenery. TNLN and thanks for the cache and great location.

The better half and I went for a drive today to see the Pinnacles and called by to find this cache whilst in the area.

I'm surprised that this lasted so long with the other caches in the area getting visits since it was published.

Goes to show how many are not aware of, or just ignore GCA.

Anyway *FTF* at 2pm.

Now off to walk around the trail.
