Description
The Olive-backed Oriole, also called Green Thrush, frequent the open forest or brushlands of northern, eastern, and southern Australia to Adelaide. It utters rolling, somewhat monotonous notes and is an assured mimic of other birds' calls. It often calls "O-ree-ee-o-ole." It's beautiful, hanging, cup-shaped nest, composed of strips of soft bark and leaves and lined with dry grass, is cleverly suspended from an outer, drooping branch of a leafy tree, from 4 to 60 feet from the ground. It eats native fruits, berries, and insects.
