Description
Hello world!
Whether you're on your way to Maralinga on nuclear weapons business, or Oak Valley to experience South Australia's most remote Aboriginal community, you're bound to stop here at Ooldea Tower. It's the only place you'll get mobile phone reception for hundreds of kilometers! Wow. The world outside still exists! Although you will be excited by the phone coverage, you really should not come out this way without a satellite phone as well. Although the dirt road leading from the Eyre Highway to this point is well maintained, I have put a fairly high terrain difficulty because of it's remoteness and the fact that it would be a muddy bog in the wet.
If you're lucky you'll see the Indian-Pacific train making it's way past on the route to Perth.
The cache is a small clip-lock sistema which I had handy. It is an easy hide. Initial content is an Aussie flag pathtag.
I can't guarantee I'll ever be out this far ever again to maintain it, but I think the chances of this cache being muggled are far less than being chewed by a wombat.
