Description

The Heritage trail winds from near Westlands all the way to the Wetlands.

The Whyalla Council has created a heritage trail that starts from Ekblom Street, just past Correctional Services and carries through all the way to the Whyalla Wetlands.

This is a trip that is both enjoyable and well worth while, even if only done once. If you have a gopher, or a bike, all the better.

This cache is pretty straight forward and you should not need any clues for this one. Please enjoy your walk.

YOU WILL NEED A PENCIL TO SIGN THE LOG.

Designed this cache for kids and newbies (like me).

This cache is accessible only bike, shank's pony, Gopher, but NOT by car.

Happy Hunting

Our last cache for the day and our GPS brought us to this one through the TAFE grounds!!!
Mr Beetle waited in the almost deserted car park with the van while I went to this one. The coordinates were spot on and at first I thought they had to be wrong and the cache would be in the nearby trees but no!!! There it was and what a perfect fit this cache container is in its hiding place.
Thanks.

Nice of you to provide an access road paralleling the trail to this location Mr. Green
Made for a short walk and a nice easy find at GZ

#GA1453 - 10:50; Day 8 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33. Arrived in Whyalla last night and heading around that area for today's caching run. Coincidentally, the last find on this cache was 12 months ago today, so happy to report it is still in place and in good condition. TFTC Groffy Very Happy

Wasn't planned this way, but exactly 12 months since the last find...and LuckyL10n, Albida33 and myself called past on the way to Alice Springs. It was another fun day heading around Whyalla and we were pleased to find this one sitting nicely in it's hidey hole. Fits in well and it should last for a good while yet.

Thanks Groffy....always good to grab another GCA cache.

Alice 2017 Trip. Day 6. After a trip round the block to get to the right access road we walked the last few meters for a quick find behind the TAFE.

Thanks

Late today we walked part of this trail. It is certainly an asset for the community. We were able to quickly locate the cache and decided to leave the container in place and just extract the log. We were surprised to see that we were only the second team to find this cache. Thanks Groffy for a very good hide and an interesting caching experience.

I managed to make this harder than necessary by being distracted by another possible hiding place near GZ. After deciding I was looking in the wrong place a wider glance revealed the cache. It's a bit of a tight fit!
FTF at 1020. Thanks Groffy.
