Description
Part of the ICEM series
I've Cached Everywhere, Man is the largest cache series hidden in Australia. It is made up of the locations made famous by Lucky Star in the song "I've been everywhere" in 1962, lyrics by Geoff Mack.
It would appear that "I haven't exactly been everywhere" and so verses 5, 6 and 7 have been added by hookline and Trigg-A-Nomics to cover Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania. The community's grateful thanks go to those geocachers for helping to cover most of the populated (and less populated) parts of Australia.
GCA Verse 5 by hookline
I've cached in Narrogin, Leeuwin, Corrigin, Carnarvon
Kalbarri, Kalgoorlie, Narembeen, Geraldton
Burrup, Manjimup, Munglinup, Kununurra
Gillingarra, Badgingarra, Meekatharra, Peedamulla
Albany, Jindalee, Karijini, Yalgoo
Bindoon, Mingenew, Ningaloo... cached there too!
Kalgoorlie-Western Australia
Kalgoorlie, now known as Kalgoorlie–Boulder after Kalgoorlie and Boulder joined, is a city in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, Australia, and is located 595 kilometres (370 mi) east-northeast ofPerth at the end of the Great Eastern Highway. The town was founded in 1893 during the Yilgarn-Goldfields gold rush, and is located close to the so-called "Golden Mile".
According to the 2011 census, it had a population of 31,107,[2] making it the largest urban centre in the Goldfields-Esperance region and the fifth-largest in Western Australia.
The name Kalgoorlie is derived from the Wangai word Karlkurla, meaning "place of the silky pears"
Park in the Mt. Charlotte Reservoir parking area and take a walk along the paved path. The cache is a tube 150mm x 40mm in a stone wall.
Please conceal it well when finished

Logs
There are hundreds of signs saying do not drive tired so geocaching helped with that.
The day turned out great taking in lots of sights at Norseman, Kambalda, Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie and only about 3ookm of driving instead of the 6-700km's.
Managed to get three gca caches up two towers before heading down into Boulder.
I found many caches during the adventure.
I had previously been up here some years back but did not have time for geocaching.
This whole area is so different now with all new landscaping, shelter and lookout and signage moved and consolidated.
I believe your cache has gone Ross1957. I di not have caching supplies with me to replace this one. I could have bought a container but then the tricky bit would be where to hide as well without going outside the or below the lookout.
I have attached a photo of the new look area.
Quick find and added my name.
Grabbed the virtual while I was here.
A amazing piece of engineering here.
Thanks for the hide Ross1957.
Didn't take long to locate this one. Thanks for setting it up for us to come and find ROSS1957
This trip had been on my 'Wish List' for some years
The problem was Logistics
I had to get the timing right...…….So many Variables!
Weather
The best time of year is after winter to avoid the very worst of the cold and wet, and before the weather gets too hot in summer
We were very fortunate to get nice warm sunny days and mild nights with no rain, the track was mostly dry and the deep mud puddles could easily be skirted around on dry tracks
Company
I did not want to tackle the track on my own as my vehicle is not fully set up for hard core 4 wheel driving, no winch or high lift kit which would be advisable, especially after rain
Luckily I found a group of other geocachers who were planning to tackle the track and I quickly agreed to join in the group
Today was the day
After spending many hours the previous afternoon removing all my work tools and other stuff out of my vehicle and packing in all my camp gear, I was ready to go early in the morning
Stopping to fill up with fuel on my way out of town then continuing on to pick up my passenger Mistraluna
While we had discussed a rough plan of finding caches on the way to Hyden I was not prepared for the coming adventure that this day would prove to become
Luckily we had all day today and tomorrow to get to Hyden where we would meet up with the other members of our party
On the way we stopped to top up with fuel and headed for our first cache of the day
From the fuel station we drove east to Pinjarra then on Pinjarra - Williams road, through Dwellingup, continuing east until we reached the power line road just past East Boundary rd. We made a left turn here and started heading north
The road was quite good and I did not need to use 4 wheel drive
I was thrilled to see a great number and variety of wild flowers along the roadside which I had not seen before
Our journey continues
Day 6
A busy day of caching so far and we still had a busy day ahead of us
Today I found this one very quickly with Mistraluna, so quickly that it was a bitter-sweet victory, as I had come several times previously searching long and hard but, obviously, not in the right place. Ha Ha
I was able to add my name to the log at long last and replaced the cache as found
DNF Avenged
A nice little hiding place and the first part of the clue and the elevation really helped here.
Thanks. A HEM marker to be found here too.
Hit the road shortly after sunrise, into a forecast 37C day, finding a total 19 caches; 15 of these being dragonZone thus earning "Ides of March" trophy; with two FTF Trig's.
We headed off from our camp at Norseman nice and early today with the intention of collecting caches in Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie, Southern Cross and a few scattered in between. We were on a mission to get back to Perth today so kept the pedal to the metal and were only stoping to grab caches which were nice and easy! Cheers
With the huge distances we were looking to cover over a couple of days we had to highlight a select few caches to stop and grab, this cache was one of the ones we stopped for! TFTC
Four caches to chase, in close proximity,
and a tonne of history
This cache eluded me for a while
It is much easier to find if you are at the correct elevation
TFTC !!
GZ was pointing to a dead bush just on the downward slope of the hill on the otherside of the fence
After reading the description just now, I realize I was looking in the wrong area.
I wish there was an iPhone app for GCA , so I could easily check cache details
Maybe next time
Thanks for adding to the ICEM series.
Thanks
