Description

"Room For A Pony" is a cache placed for Geosportz 2016.

Our older daughter always wanted us to move into the country so we would have room for a pony. This never happened and we fear that she will never forgive us. When she was less than 5, she did have a fall back position - she would keep a pony in her bedroom if we let her have one! That offer did not change our decision. Thankfully as the reality of the offer set in, she was less enthusiastic with this option. However, the long term goal of having enough room for a pony remained into adulthood.

Today we visited the Harness Racing Centre at St Arnaud and found ample room for a pony (or two or three or ......). As there are few GCA caches in the area, we decided to leave one. Have fun.

Surprised to find a 2y'stassies cache in the area!!
33 weeks since a find but the cache was still in great condition although we did replace the zip lock bag which was torn.
Your poor daughter, I sympathize as I wanted a horse for 10 years before I finally got one.
And then it was over 40 years of horses and competing and commitment.
Thanks.

Room for a pony indeed. I was somewhat surprised to discover this was a GCA cache after I found it. They all look the same in my GPS, but I am absolutely happy that we decided to pick it up while we were walking around town in our mid-week jaunt to St. Arnaud.

We arrived on the Spirit this morning and headed north on our 5 month trek.
This seemed like a nice spot to stop, catch up on our Rest, and maybe pick up a few geocaches in the area.
A lovely little town and a free campsite ticks a few boxes with a lot of bonus caches to find all within walking distance.

Revisiting a very familiar area we made the GCA find here today as we have ran out of GC caches to find. All good here today.
Thanks for the placement.

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud mega. Couldn't resist finding the GCA cache at the event site; so after getting the nearby letterbox cache, I walked over here for a very quick find. Everything still in fine condition. Pleasant location in the park. TNLNSL. TFTC 2y'stassies!

It was a lovely morning and H423L and I were out for a morning walk to blow off the cobwebs (well I always have cobwebs in the morning and H423L normally has done a day's work by the time I wake up). We had found a few GC caches and spied Ben (the L Legend) in the bushes. We used our slooth skills to retrace and track his steps to a likely tree. We spread out and saw a suspicious pile. We were not sure what we would find but low and behold, it was a cache! This cache. Our thanks to 2Y'TASSIES for placing. I think this is my first GCA cache in a very long time, perhaps since the last Mega in Wagga where I maintained one.... But that's another story.

Clear skies from TeamAstro.

Found It!
A quick find here while at the mega event. Geosportz was a fun game all those years ago, somehow I managed to finish in the top five that year!

Found on a trip back from Bendigo after we took a wrong turn toward St Arnaud. Well worth the stop for this little cache. Took nothing left nothing but did cover it with some more leaf litter as it was quite visible to muggles especially as it was not far off the track. TFTC.

Came into this one by a very convoluted route! Then discovered I could have driven almost to GZ Laughing
But made a nice easy find in the end

#GA1955 - 09:45; Day four of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. After a big day on the road yesterday going from Creswick to Mount Gambier and back, the plan for today is a more leisurely drive to Learmonth, St Arnaud, Wycheproof then through Beulah to Brim for some silo art and on to Warracknabeal and home again via Ararat. Made it to St Arnaud after a very nice breakfast at a little bakery in Avoca on the way through. Took what seemed like a long way in, but managed to get access to the right side of the fence to reach GZ. It was good to collect this cache before scaling the heights for a nearby GC cache as well. A quick find once we found GZ. Lots of activity in the area late in the afternoon but managed to find the cache and sign the log between people and their dogs wandering by. TFTC

On our way to the Red Centre Experience taking a long roundabout way there and stopped in St Arnaud for a coffee and this GCA cache, everything else was a bonus. Not a bad place to have a pony, especially a good trotter. TFTC 2y'stassies.

We were staying nearby but it wasn't until we were leaving that we got a chance to make the find. Another St Arnaud spot full of mozzies. TFTC 2y'stassies

Today's the first day of an annual pilgrimage to St Arnaud for a series of geocaching events and some very creative caches. Along the way I found a few caches and this was one of them. Unfortunately it was the only GCA cache find for the day.

Thank you, 2y'stassies, for this cache.

We were notified that this was up and running but socializing at the GC Event got the better of us. What we thought was going to be a 2TF turned out to be a 3TF!

Thanks for the placement 2y'stassies.

While at an event I heard that there was a new GCA cache published in town so I teamed up with sharkiefan to hunt this one down.
With good cords it made it a quick grab.
