Description

This is what it means to me to cache in Australia

This is the best of caching I reckon: a relaxing ferry ride, a wander along the waterfront, a couple of big sandstone caves, a scramble up the hill (puff, puff, puff), lots of Aussie bush, a swim on the way back if you want - all up, a great day out!

Little Wobby is a boat-access only spot and can be reached by ferry from Brooklyn. Once there, wind your way along the waterfront and past the various houses (public access allowed although it feels strange!), then along the road to Spring Beach where you pass an access track down to the beach on the right. WP1 (S33° 33.486' E151° 15.067'): On the left take the rough track which goes via to two lovely caves and then heads steeply up the hill to the cache.

The terrain rating is a little higher due to the access requirement of the ferry (or your own boat)

The cache seems to have disappeared

A hard slog/climb up the hill eventually got us to the cache, surprised that it was just sitting there on top of the rock, but it was in perfect condition.
That was our last cache but we spent a lot of time looking for an elusive track, much to the disgust of my guide, l was going to say useless guide but that would not be entirely true.
He did manage to get us 'lost' on the way down but somehow found a way to get us down safely.
I love you dearly Old Man but next time I may decide to stay in bed instead. Shocked

Second and last of the day!
It turned out that the so called track is more of a goats track than anything and it does tend to hide from you at times. My companion was not very impressed with me for getting her out of bed for this.
But once the worst part over it was a lovely walk/scramble to GZ and the last thing we expected was to see the cache sitting on top of the rock about 8 metres from the coords. It was intact with a still blank log no idea what happened. We replaced it at the coords as per the hint I hope that is OK blossom*?
From there the plan was to get the other 2 caches but after getting on the wrong track on top of the ridge we vainly tried to find the start of the Midway Ridge Trail, following several tracks that did not go anywhere.
We never got closer than 420 metres and usually much further. Another trip is planned for another go but I fear this time I will be by myself as on the way down I managed to lose the trail and we had to bush bash back down to the shore, not an easy thing to do.
Anyeay thanks for this cache as far as the other 2 are concerned they will have to wait.
