It is with regret that I archive this as it is such a pretty sight and holds memories dear to us. But I fear it is gone and the daughter who set it is now almost 22. We are not on a position to easily replace as my parents ( her grandparents) are no longer there. They were special times. I hope someone else sets a cache here.
We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the Land Down Under" ... This one was missing when we were here last trip and unfortunately it seems like it may have gone missing again. We had a very thorough look for it but sadly no luck.
Thanks anyways Silver Snitch.

Did not find today with3LG and the x-trailers. Will delete previous log when home
Found some golf tees near the edge, hopefully the cache is not somewhere of in the distance lol.
We had spent the weekend in the Riverland visiting relatives and doing a little caching.
This one proved to be elusive, may have been there but after losing some blood in the bushes I gave up.

Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega
Camped for a few days at Holder Bend we decided to head out and explore town. We started off visiting the tourist info centre then to the Cholcolate shop... Oh wow, oh wow. [:X]
Then off to explore the surrounds and some history. Took a bit longer here than we would care to admit to, but Mrs Felix soon had the cache in hand.
Sadly there were a few DNF's today but such fantastic weather.
Thanks for the cache and for helping us explore the local area.

Found this cache while In SA to attend Oz Mega. Travelled today from Karoonda to Berri. Enjoyed the variety of caches along the way and the many novel hides. Thanks for your cache The Silver Snitch
We found your cache today The Silver Snitch, we were travelling from Berri to Nuriootpa on another leg of our South Australian adventure. The weather was perfect for caching and we saw some wonderful countryside along the way. Thanks for the hunt.
Finally! This was my third visit here since January and at last I have the cache. TFTC
Day 11 Mega Road Trip, heading from Adelaide to Mildura today. Couldn't resist a stop at this one. Quick find and great photo op for us. But alas the first encounter with creatures... a large ant bite on the ankle.... ouch and a scary few moments to get him off. Guess we will have a memory of this cache now. SL. TFTC.
Thanks once again to Bart for getting the cache operational.
This Cache has lasted for many years.
Please folks, even if you are on a cache run, tuck it away out of sight again.

Checked for CO; and seems to have done a disappearing trick from correct location.
A new container and log has been put in place.
Please be sure to tuck cache completely out of sight of passers-by on the walking track.
Cheers, Bart57

Here from Canada, caching our way across Australia....
Had a good look for this one but unfortuately all we came up with was a broken piece of sistema. Hoping that wasn't part of the hide.
Thanks anyways The Silver Snitch

# 5370. Robmc and I are in SA to tackle a few of the many Series and others along the way. We have now been joined by pprass to join in the adventures.
Today we decided to do some caching around Waikerie and Loxton and try to finish off the Wandering Heroes Series.
This was our last one for the day and provided more spectacular views from up high. The river cliffs were looking lovely in the afternoon sunshine and I did wonder at the pilgrimage that used to take place so close to the edge. Brave souls. A bit of shuffling to find the cache but it was soon to hand.
Thanks The Silver Snitch

Found at 5:37 PM GAFF5 in the company Robmc and BB#. Last cache for the day and we enjoyed the views and looking up the river at the cliffs. We read the history on the boards and then looked around to see if we could see the walking tracks that the early villagers used.
Thanks The Silver Snitch.

Just a quick one on the way through. Beware - the ants can be friendly! TFTC TNLN
Cache checked; container replaced due to damage, now a camouflaged 90mm dia. pvc tube, additional logbook in place.
Thanks in Advance to Bart 57 who will soon be checking on and carrying out maintance on this cache.
what a fantastic spot on the river. Great views. Too bad we didn't have a picnic lunch. TFTC
Found. What a day. Dutchy76 and myself thought we would give the 24hr geocaching a go. We left the barossa on the 4/8/13 and found our first cache in springton @ midday. From there we headed towards Murray Bridge picking up caches along the way and then attempted the Oz Mega trail and the Wandering Heroes trail. We had a lot of finds and a lot we couldn't find due to poor phone reception.
As the sun came up we headed towards Waikerie and Morgan attempting the TDF series. We got thru half of the series before our 24hrs were up, finishing at midday 5/8/13 with 273 finds.
Thanks to all the cache owners for their hides and for the fun experience of a 24hr cache dash.
Sorry for the cut and pasting but made it quicker for logging all these caches.

Meatpaws and myself set a 24hr challenge for our self's and it was a hard but a successful challenge. We have not done this challenge before. It was a very hard 24hr rally. Felling stiff and sore, when you have to jump out of a car every so often ( good exercise). If you get a chance to do it i recommend it.
Thanks to all the people that put the chaches out there. Look forward to a 48hr caching challenge.

Great little spot to stretch your legs, and stretch we did. A vehicle was already parked nearby so searching for the cache was impossible. Instead of driving off we stayed and walked part of the track and came back after the vehicle had gone. Thankyou Silver Snitch.
Sorry The Silver Snitch for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks The Silver Snitch for placing this cache.
Found with micaparamedic on our way to the Berri river rendesvous, rendavu... uh! get together event.

A nice quick and easy find. Though I did get a strange look from a muggle that appeared from no where as I was signing the log!

The Aussies decided that it was time to make yet another assault on the Wandering Heroes series, and as this series has now grown to where it almost reaches Loxton, we decided to make it into an epic journey and do a loop back through the Barossa. brisal5 kept us company and had a great day making the majority of the finds.
It was a legendary caching day consisting of about 17hrs of caching and around 130 caches contributing to about 100 smilies to both teams, however it was not without it's dramas with blood being spilt more than once.
Mr M decided to get the car as close as he could to GZ, so we had to get a couple of photos. Fantastic lookout. The cache was quickly located and then it was a matter of checking how many torches we had as night was beginning to fall. TFTC Silver Snitch.

Time for another caching adventure. Picked up by Aussie M&M at 0730. [l)] Dropped home just after midnight the next day. The plan: Do some new or missed caches along the wandering heroes, some cache maintainace for CP along the trail and make it to Loxton for Lunch. Pick up a few interesting caches that are SMALL detours and return another way picked up some more caches and make a few SMALL detours.
But here's what actually happened. Did the wandering heroes, did some cache maintainance, made some MEDIUM detours to check out the 4wd of the geofrogmobile, got to Loxton for afternoon tea at the bakery, did some more caches, got to Blanachetown for a pub meal (supper) which took so long to arrive we could have done ten caches while they cooked it, did some more caches and finally got home.
Along the way the usual stuff happened, found some really interesting caches, some not so, there was blood from two, [B)] two fell over, collected 3 travellers, left about a dozen pathtags in the wild, lots of laughter, each team did over 100 caches and now we have the task of the logs.
The only things missing from this adventure; Brisal didn't tear a garment of clothing or dak himself and the constant giggling of Mogni. We missed it.
A quick find for Mr M. I am sure you are not supposed to drive this close to the cliff though. Thanks silver snitch.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.
As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.
To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.
****************
Tuesday was the day of our record run from midnight to midnight. We rested before the start and got a few hours sleep. Once we started, it was a blur of caching, we did the Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TDF series along the way. Caches were being found so quickly, it was amazing. The time went very fast, and at the end, even the several cans of energy drink did nothing to hold off some tiredness. I got through, and was proud to have been part of this incredible day.
****************
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.
I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.
Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.
The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.
Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.
Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.
Thanks, Quasar3671.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.
The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.
With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.

Tuesday was the day of our record attempt, a crack at the 24 hour Australian record. Starting at midnight and finishing at midnight, it was an awesome run. Some rest and sleep was had before the run, and many, many cans of energy drinks (harden up) was consumed during the 24 hours. We picked up the Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TDF series along the way. Caches were found and logged at an immense speed, and in hindsight, the greatest single day of caching I have ever had. It was hard, hard work, but a lot of fun. Humor and our goal kept our spirits up during a mammoth 24 hours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. TFTC and the memories.

When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.
Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.
With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.
Tuesday was our attempt at a 24 cache run which naturally started at midnight and finished at midnight. It was a great run with Oz Mega, Oz Mega Signal, Wandering Heroes and TdF cache series being picked up. At one stage caches were being logged so fast it was all a blur. Naturally a few cans of toughen up were consumed many laughs had.
While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.

Nice stop to find this cache whilst driving from Mildura back to Adelaide. TFTC The Silver Snitch.
Nice and easy cache with a beautiful location. Cache is a tad soggy, we tried to air it out a bit. TFTC.
This cache was found by Team PacketStorm and Team Indiana08 whilst completing their designated mission to SA. The teams set out together on the 01/02/13 to 09/02/13 to gain as many smiley's as they could in a short amount of time. Both teams logs will be exactly the same but I can assure you much fun was had by all.
Thank you to all cache owners who have placed and maintained these caches.
Day 5, 05/02/13, We set off from Loxton at 10am and headed towards the 'TDF' series. We managed to find all 104 of the series without seeing a wriggly stick! We did however spot some emus, a few kangaroos, unfortunately one dead one and also a dead wombat. We ended up with 119 caches for the day and set up camp for the night in Mallala, which has a great free camp site at the sports ground.

Found this one on our way home from Barmera, thought we would call into Waikerie for a Bakery stop and thankfully the kids allowed my one cache in our bid to get home. The cache is a bit wet, we did dry it out as much as we could. TFTC
Ingy found this one, then went running after she handed it to me, as the ants thought she was a good place to crawl.
Wasn't overly keen to look to hard into the bushes here because they're so easily broken and I have seen the destruction that geocachers can do to these.
There was some sort of school girl rowing event going on on the river.

What a splendid view! Thanks for showing us this one SS. By the way the co-ords were spot on so the cache creep mentioned in previous logs has been rectified. I see someone else found it earlier today.
Find #51 on honeymoon with Alex-theSquirrel
The coords for this one were a couple of metres off, this cache may be the victim of cache creep?? TFTC

An easy wander as we were staying over the road in one of the cabins. Great lookout as they all seem to be around here.

On a visit from the Gold Coast and loved the location for this one. Thanks for the view and the cache which is in good order.
This one had us tricked for a while and when we decided to give up it decided to show it's colours and "jump" out at us like a toddler playing hidey!. Have no idea how we missed it before! Found at 10:55am on our way from Victoria to Lambert's Centre of Australia. Took Kermit. Left Pathtag. SL TFTC

Today was day two of our holiday from Melbourne to the Flinders Ranges.
The route today was from Barmera to Rawnsley Park Station just south of Wilpena Pound, where we are staying for thee nights.
The weather was fine but cool and cloudy, pefect for caching really. We stopped for lunch at Burra and arrived at Rawnsley Park just on sunset. Now comes my task of writing up todays 21 finds.
This one was find number 6.
Fantastic location. Sistemas are not waterproof however if they are left upside down.
The insides weere damp so we dried it out. The log was okay.
Thanks The Silver Snitch,

We found this cache on our way home from Adelaide on dusk. We waved to the people enjoying a campfire on the other side of the river with their houseboat. thanks.
Beaut views we wouldn't have seen without your cache leading us off the highway. Wife enjoyed pouncing on this while I was still getting there. Thanks.
After calling in here to get a few picks of the beautiful sunrise this morning I thought it would be a great spot for a hide. Fired up the iphone and sure enough there it was very close to where I was standing. I really enjoyed my time at this cache. Fantastic view. TNLN Thanks to The Silver Snitch for placing a cache here.
Found and logged at 11:30, On my way north to escape the winter
Thanks The Silver Snitch

Please do not hide caches in bushes. I do not want to search for them with a machete neither I want to disturb any animals in there. I saw enough demolished bushes due to geocaching. The location though is really beautiful and diserves a cache. Think about hiding in a different way. Thanks for the cache anyway.
we stayed at waikerie caravan park over night and it was freezing we found picnic views in the morning what a beautiful spot tn left happy frog head tftc
