Justjessie and I went past here today on a Munzee hunt and the object the cache was in has been "blitzed" to make way for a some play ground equipment...
As one of the last visitors to this cache (with hccatcher11415) I though I would re-visit while in the area for my brother's wedding.
The cache is still in the same spot and in good condition. I suspect cache creep may be the issue. Happy to either meet you out there or remove the cache if you want to open up the area?

I dropped by to check on this cache today but there was no sign of it... not sure if it was a case of cache creep or it is just gone?? I'm considering whether to keep this cache, replace with something different or just archive and free up the area for someone else...
After photos for sons yr 12 Formal a pleasant detour on the way home to mark this important date. No ribbon in cache.
1468. I did the night time visit a while back and must have had fat fingers. So today, being in the area, I retraced my steps and found it with no dramas. I didnt look here before!

Missed the updated "Look Down" ..... in the comments, so spent sometime wandering around trying all possible "UP" options! Once reviewed previous logs, located the GZ extremely close to where I first looked!
Lovely day with full cloud and enjoy clue and finally GZ, a bit seached, found one as hide well thanks
Thank you for this cache, Tealby. Nice to be able to pay respects here. We believe the altitude of the cache has decreased from its original position but it is eminently findable. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
A touching memorial to the unsung heroes. A worthy find for our 500th multicache. TFTC Tealby.
After deciding to head out around the lake on the bikes (my nice new one) we parked the car at the car park of the Police Memorial to set off. With this one being the first of the day.
This Memorial is close to my heart and fitting for the start of a few hours of caching. I was planning on placing a pathtag in the container but realised I didnt have mine with me so I will return asap with one and place it inside.
Thanks for putting a cache here Tealby.

Really enjoyed this cache. I never knew what this plaque was until now. puzzle was good and gz was spot on. Looks as though someone has hidden it in a more secure spot, but still correct gz.
Just watch out for the muggles - they are everywhere! TFTC.

As I approached gz I saw a container lying in the open - it was the cache. I placed it where it looked likely to have slipped from but I'm not certain that the coordinates were exactly right - gps is playing up. Thanks Tealby
This is the second multi cache that I have found. A very nice location and an extra bouns, I went there at night. I hade never really stopped and thought about this location before so thanks Tealby for bringing me to a new part of Canberra. This cache deserves a favorite point from me.

The end of a mountain bike orienteering weekend in Canberra. Just a few caches to round it up.
Thanks Tealby.
Thanks Tealby.
Have been planning on working this out for a month or two since coming here on a previous visit for other reasons (a scavenger hunt - thanks GigglygeckoClan). An important memorial, I remember when it was opened and received the reverance it deserved. Being a copper is a very high calling isn't it!
Made the observations and notes on an early morning visit in the way to work this morning. Found the cache at about 07:45 in a logical location given the information provided. It might get accidently moved from time to time by local fauna.
Anyways, thank you very much for the excellent hunt and cache Tealby, I now have a greater appreciation of the thin blue line.
Cheers

Today is the day that we find our 2000th cache - rather excited! We loved doing this cache. What a somber memorial - a place we should all see. It certainly brings home the courage our police force show every day when they go to work. We found the required information from the memorial and calculated the final co-ordinates. We headed over to GZ and began searching using the hint to help us. We looked and looked and eventually found the cache lying out in the open - not where it should be. We logged our visit before trying to hide the cache where we thought it should be. TFTC
Easy find once I entered the digits in correctly! Visited the Toronto Police Service TB as it seemed appropriate. Too big to leave.
Thank you for letting me know how much there is to see in Canberra and around it Lake. Found Cache with RobyRocket & Captain Uder.
Found with ECLcreations and Captain UDER. What a great day to Cache and what a great spot. TFTC.
A beautiful memorial, thanks for bringing us here. There was someone playing bagpipes nearby which got annoying after a few minutes! TFTC.
An interesting and sad memorial. A neat little puzzle solved with the lovely *cough* background music of a bagpiper practicing. TFTC.
Very interesting little multi. Rain just abated so took this on e on, and were soon rewarded with the cache, but... it was lying on the ground, no ribbon in evidence. log signed and container placed somewhere near we assumed it should be by the clue. Owner may wish to check. TFTC.
Took my time Tealby, but I finally rectified my DNF.
It seems I was doing something wrong with my calculations, but working with guywithface, we got it in the end. Cache was on the ground as mentioned by previous finders, but still a tricky blighter to spot.
Thanks for the cache Tealby, my first ever multi!

Found, although don't think it was in the right spot as we found it laying on the ground. Placed it back and covered with ammo there was no ribbon.
Thanks OZLurker for your assistance in interpretation of this one today.

Now that was taking much longer than though. Almost got into trouble for this. Information was gathered quickly. But I had a number twister in the first set of coords calculated. After some search and rechecking finding the errors we searched a bit over but nothing to be seen. We were about to give up when I saw it on the ground. It blends in very well and could have been easily overlooked. Signed and put back on up will soon fall down again though. I guess the original home is broken. TFTC Tealby.
We came here on Wednesday and took pictures of all the memorial stones, But we couldn't figure out the code. Then the next day, we found the code (How did we miss that?!?) [xx(] finding the cache was easier. TNLN TFTC.
We cannot remember why we didn't go after this cache in its old incarnation. There was possibly a ceremony happening at the memorial that day. Today, however, it was deserted but we still managed to collect the clues in the wrong order! Never mind, we got everything we needed in the end. The cache itself was very exposed but is less so now. Cheers Tealby - our second one of yours today!
And... fail!
I've not done a multi-cache before, but I thought that as I am approaching 30 caches I should at least have a go.
I think I worked out the coordinates, but then didn't know whether the 'S' or 'E' coordinates go first. I am quite sure I did it the wrong way at first as I wandered off to the presumed GZ and found: nothing. Not a tree, bush or shrub. Hmmmm... idiot. So, I tried in the other order and I think I went to the right place. I'm so short I couldn't have reached it, if it was still in place but I think going by previous logs it has moved. Imagine me jumping into every bit of greenery I could find, at nearly 8pm on a Thursday.
Still, no luck. However, I won't be beaten Tealby. I'll be back!

I found this one on this sunny day today. I think I wouldn't have paid attention to this memorial without this cache. So thank you for showing me this memorial. TFTC, marcb109
Finally back in business, but I might look at something a bit different in the longer term.
Found with Tealby's help on an early morning lake walk - Thanks Tealby SL - TFTC

Cache replaced today - the original location has been chipped, so it is probably about 5m away & quite visible if you look.
I thought about archiving the cache, but I have a new container & hope to have it out in the next week - apologies for the delay.
Nice puzzle, and found the cache - but it has been smashed and the log scattered.
Found the first location and we're pretty sure we got the coordinates right but had to cut short the search to get back for more Christmas eating. We'll try again soon.
had a great time atempting this one thanks for the history and the challenge
This is the kind of cache you just want to do, as a recognition for those honoured by such a site. It certainly is a decent memorial for their sacrifice in the line of duty.
Having said that, the information was gathered, calculations were made, and a cache was found !
Thanks, Tealby !

I had already collected the necessary information and calculated the GZ. Turned up to collect the cache but when I reached into the bag I had an old mother Hubbard moment as the GPSr was not there. Luckly I had a wander around and managed to find it anyway. TFTC.
Geodaughter found this interesting cache after a morning at Questacon. Having a Floriade weekend. Good hide. TFTC.
Always liked this memorial, and enjoyed the opportunity to take a closer look. Tried to stop by last night, but just as I arrived, a bus-load of people showed up for some kind of function. No such trouble tonight, though! TFTC.
Clues were fun figuring out. A nice memorial too. Another cache for Herca, T-rex 05 and me... Poor Wasptor is still repeating caches...TFTC!
We had to wait for Wasptor who was sitting in the car, but we got there in the end. Lots of things to look at here. And was a nice walk to get the cache. TFTC
I never did the original Thin Blue Line. While we in the area, gather clues for Tourist Tours, T-Rex05, Fraggle_Rock, Wasptor and I completed the codes and clues and took the short stroll to GZ.
TFTC - really interesting monument this one.

Searched for the names on the memorial for a while before realising there was a nice helpful sign....oops...Found this one with GeeLetcha. TFTH!
We were actually planning on doing 'First Service' tonight, but were muggled out so figured we'd have a go at this one. I figure it's now 9pm on a chilly winters evening in Canberra, the obviously crazy muggles are at my previous cache attempt, so I've gotta be good for this one, right?? Wrong, I've just collected the required info when up pops Mr and Mrs Muggle and sons. I beat a hasty retreat and hope I copied the last bit of info down as I go looking for GZ, leaving them to enjoy the Memorial.
I do my calcs and wander off to find GZ - and just as I'm checking on the location of the Family Muggle, so I can turn on my torch to look for the cache - there they are again - Argggghhhh!!! Luckily, they didn't take too long to get in the car and leave, so I grab the apparently small window of opportunity to search for the cache before what will no doubt be 17 coachloads of tourists descend upon GZ. [:(!]
I completely stuffed up the numbers last time, but managed to get it right this time - the cache was soon at hand, signed and returned to it's hide with nary a muggle seen. TFTC and the hunt.

While in the area I thought I'd do a rare multi for the trip! I was interested by the location and when I got reading I realised the multi existed. After doing the calculations it was off to GZ where the deceptive container took me a little while to locate. After logging I stopped to enjoy the views before venturing off again.

The answers were pretty easy but we knew we had the wrong final coordinates because there was no rock-wall. So we looked around for a rock-wall, checked answers and knew we were in the right place. The cache was easy to find. The clue really helped. TFTC.
Yet another important "thingy" here I never realised was here. Was nice to see this memorial.
The cache took a bit to notice, very good camouflage.

Ah, a nice walk around the carillion area is always better when there's a cache to be had. A nice little multi to showcase the memorial that I had been meaning to check out but never have. I took advantage of the wall and was glad it was there for the computations.
The cache cammo is almost all gone so is really easy to see (if you are looking for it), it may need another lick of paint? Great cache (and I like your pathtag too), thanks Tealby.

One of the things I love about caching is that you see and learn about things you wouldn't always make time for.
This memorial was very interesting.
Thanks for bringing me to this area. Nice quick find once we got all the numbers working.

Completed this nice little multi fairly quickly. Canberra has so many monuments and each one gets you thinking so thanks for bringing us up here.
A really nice multi in a somber but quite pretty location. A good opportunity to remember the fallen as well. TFTC.
At last, doing sums right and no distractions from grandsons makes a nice quick find. Its no longer so easily visible either. tftc
Foun with puddle. No muggles. TFTC.

Puk Ed worked out the nature of the puzzle and then it was a relatively quick solve and retrieval of cache. Log is a bit damp but still ok for writing on.

Bare open ground - what the[?] Something must be wrong here... Let me see... DOH!!! Use the reference numbers silly, not the last number relating to the date of death. Read the instructions better next time... Recalculate - yep - found. Wee Hee!! Log book is still a little bit damp but hopefully with all this dry hot weather the log will dry up soon. TFTC!
A wonderful memorial to our rels....visited twice over weekend. First time to pay our respects and the second to locate cache.....found with ShellcaseNT. TFTC at such a special site.
Found in company with Royston. This has special meaning as having just retired and having taken part in the dedication.
Log damp and container needs to be better waterproofed.
Easily seen in location but now covered with bark for better hiding.

Well this had to be one of the best caches I've done. Did this one at night (very early morning actually) and would recommend visiting this place at night too! Absolutely fantastic!
Had the AFP following me and circling back to see what I was up to again, so it seemed quite fitting to do this cache at the same time. Took some photos and hope they come out.
Log book seemed a little damp. Signed the back and flipped the cache to prevent more water getting in. TFTC!

FlyingPigSquadron has landed! Like previous cacher went to the end part first and discovered afterwards we could have shortened the job - done in the dark. Thanks for bringing us here TNLN
Now if you are an idiot, like me, you'll ignore where your little arrow is pointing you and head for the memorial proper and spend quite some time poring over all the name plaques only to find that there is a key back up towards the carpark that would have narrowed your search. Mind you looking at all those plaques and getting lost in the names (Wallaby was an interesting surname, an Aboriginal officer) I think increased the overall effect of visiting this memorial.
Note that the log sheet was significantly damp, but still signable with the pencil provided.

A nice little cache on a sunny day and a nice puzzle. The road is closed from Blundell's cottage so only access by car is now from Kings Av travelling from S to N.
Another lunch spent with Fitzy, if it wasn't for these outings I would be lucky to get any Vitamin D during winter.
An enjoyable walk to WP1, we spent some time perusing the various names and dates of the memorial. Suprising how many QLD police officers were involved in the Gallipoli Campaign.
A slight error with which numbers should be used in working out GZ had me in an open area looking at the clear blue sky, but a quick re-think had the right location.
Cache had been stuffed with someone's trade and wasn't shut properly so the log was wet. We took out the stuffing, left the log and the ribbon and the cache is now sealed nice and tight.

[I think this was much more luck than anything else. My calculations had me around 30m away from GZ! I searched and searched (on two separate days) to no avail. Checked and re-checked my calcs - went back to the wall checked the names and the dates still ended up in the wrong spot.] So as my coords were totally out I finally re-read the rest of the description and went to the suggested place to sit to search there. Bingo - one cache in hand. Hope that's OK.
Successfully worked out the coordinates with a bit of effort. Cache was lying on the ground, replaced it in its (assumed) original location. TFTC
Got to the memorial and must say a lovely one too. Worked out all the information but couldnt work out how to calculate. So what do I do. Went to where the cache was near and used the clue. What luck a easy find with no calculations used TFTC
First time visit to the memorial, it was interesting to read some of the messages written by the families who had lost a loved one.
Left RAAF badge, took nothing.

Was in 2 minds about doing this one. In some ways it didn't seem right using the memorial to find a cache.
BUT
It was right. It did bring me here, I spent some quite time thinking about what the memorial means. My personal experiences during the Canberra firestorms means I have a special appreciation for those who put themselves in potentially harms way for the greater good.
Thankyou again Tealby for a thoughtful cache.
