I have been meaning to do this one for years. Searched both close to the water and further uphill for about 30mins but no joy.
Unfortunately this cache is no longer here. Had a long search & got within 3m of hint item/s.
Been a while since anyone was here. A few trees down in the way perhaps. Lovely spot though.
Nice to come out and get some new smileys. A spur of the moment overnight trip to Taupo meant I was able to get out today for some caching.
Met some friends here and realised I hadn’t logged after finding over a year ago. Oops.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

As the summer months come to an end, and with daylight savings ending for us real soon, it's time for an extended weekend trip to Rotorua (from Wellington). Lots of activities are on the agenda, and geocaching is one of them. I had several specific caches marked to find on this trip, some to meet specific requirements, some were such fun puzzle solves that I just had to come and sign the log, and are some just because. This cache is one of them.
High lake level, tonnes of lake weed, and a large number of hint items made this a challenging find. Definitely got wet feet.
Thanks to secretsquirrelnz for placing this cache here.

Out cycling the W2K and wasn't prepared to get wet feet, after reading a few previous logs they mentioned no wet feet so decided to have a look and ended finding the cache without getting feet wet, signed and replaced cache as found TFTC
Visited the Maori carvings this Easter weekend and came around the bays to find this cache. Was intrigued by the fact we might get wet feet, but we didn’t at all. Quick and easy find. Saw a swan sitting on her nest. Never seen that before. Was very cool. Dropped TB. TFTC
Staying in Kinloch and got curious so took a walk down. Managed to get in with no wet feet. Woohoo. Quick find.
Staying nearby tonight, so I couldn’t resist the cache nearby.
Managed to get the cache without getting my feet wet!
I think the water level is a bit low!
Thanks for the cache!

No wet feet today as lake level helped. Lots of muggles about.
Log wet and needs repairs. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), the nieces, and the dog... We didn’t visit a whole lot of caches today, but we did make some important finds...
We drove the dusty road into Whakaipo Bay and were surprised with the number of campers in here. It certainly is a nice place to stay over... There probably isn’t a better time than now to visit this cache. The beach is high and dry and access to ground zone is direct... We shared the beach with a few others and managed to find this hide without attracting attention. The cache contents are wet, but we scratched our handles onto the log. This could do with a makeover. Thanks Secretsquirrelnz and TFTC.

#15 - a lovely spot. Pretty easy find to be fair but great spot and in a 30 degree summer’s day, this was exactly what I needed! TFTF and a nice local favourite cache of mine now
We went for a lovely last swim of the year today and thought we also need to get a final cache of the year. Definitely got more than just our feet wet. Tftc with jakesrage
Well i definitely got more than wet feet looking for this one. Great end to this years caching. Tftc with isistibisi.
Very fun cache and a big adventure. Definitely got wet feet lake very deep! TFTC best one today
A cold drizzly day, with three dogs, we did get wet feet getting to GZ, though the lake is at a really low level. A scramble around, and found the cache! Contents a little damp but a very cool historic logbook. No muggles here, TFTC.
Tried this on twilight last night, but needed more illumination so back today for a second go. Success, but alas no go with pen. Photo of log taken though. TFTC. Nb, need shoes for the water wade, those stones are hard on the feet.
Not at all where we were expecting it to be. After getting feet wet at where we thought GZ was and hunting a while we discovered it high and dry instead.
Found the cache laying at the beach. Not really hidden by sisso... I put it back which I guess is the right one.
Anyway a beautiful place, but if there is a storm, the cache would be gone.

No wet feet today. Retrieved and replaced with my paddle . More pictures to add later as it is a stunning day with no one around. Paddling to the other end of the bay now to see about another cache.
GPS did not like being in here so I just had to look under every large rock. Persistence paid off. Yes got feet wet but had a swim after so was all good. Ummm not sure about T/D! TFTC
Gorgeous spot wish I'd known I was coming here and I'd have thrown in some wet shoes. Tried in bare feet. Got to within 70 m but stones were killing me so I gave up.
After staying the night in Kinloch and losing half of our group, alpenmilch80 and I decided to stay around the Taupo area for some more geocaching before heading up to Rotorua for some more adventure.
Managed to avoid wet feet getting to GZ and after a bit of a hunt around the place eventually found the cache in good condition. TFTC

After staying the night in Kinloch evilno9 and I decided to stay around the Taupo area for some more geocaching before driving to Rotorua. It turned out to be a great day at the lake. Enjoyed the walk to GZ without getting wet feet. Took a while to locate, but found in good conditions. TFTC
Walked part of the W2K track with sveppi today, then came here afterwards to let her claim the find. Cache is not exactly where I remember it to be (found it in 2010 and 2011) but near enough and easily located. THe area is growing and the bush is getting more dense. Did get wet boots and socks today, unlike 4 years ago when the lake was so low I managed to go there with dry feet.
Walked part of the W2K track with fanfan-77 today and decided to grab the cache on the way back to the car. We did get wet feet.... very welcome actually as my feet were a little tired and hot anyway. Lake and spot is lovely. Plenty of people around but cache location is well out of the way. Had to hunt a little but found ok. Cache and log book in good order. TFTC
Made an afternoon of it. A favourite family spot, beautiful place to visit!!! TFTC. We got our feet wet today.
Nice spot to park up for a couple of nights while biking in the area. High tide and pretty rough so had to take the dry route. Found after a thorough search of the area (no GPS). All in good order. TFTC.
Oh darn every time we come to Kinloch for an event we hope to also find a cache or 2 but seems we have a cache curse for the area, lol enjoyed getting the "ice bath" which was well needed after doing the off road 1/2 marathon on the W2K track, so thanks anyway
Sunday morning adventure by treasure pirates. Happily Found it. Also picked up glass to avoid future accidents.
We didn't get our feet wet and took nine of us to find it but the broken glass comment really is what made us look in the right place

I was lucky enough to be invited by Cats&Dragons to join him on one of his infamous missions. The main focus of today was Mason's rock Earthcache. After our paddle out on the lake we made sure to come down this end of the beech to pick up this cache before heading off. C&D had no trouble spotting the cache container and it was quickly signed and returned. Thanks for placing it.
THis mornings mission was to collect this earthcache which has been sitting here on my radar for quite some time. So up early this morning and in the company of Mrs Dragon and iammrwalker we set off from home with the idea of a quiet sunny paddle out here under a lazy summers sky.
Well the day started out not too bad, but as we paddled our way out we got caught in a shower of three and were a little despondent after all the wonderful fine weather that we have had over the last few weeks. Even in saying that it was still a very nice paddle out and great to be able to send to the CO the required information.
So before heading off to Kinlock to check things out we stopped to grab this one, No one about and a simple find.
Please be careful of broken Glass amongst rocks near to GZ
thanks for the placement

Nearly got muggled by a dog that followed me into the undergrowth but got out unseen!
Lovely hot day, swimming and picnic. Beautiful spot. Thanks.

TFTC!
We did get wet feet. Cold feet too! But a lovely warm day so it was nice. Saw lots of baby fish, ducks and boats too.

left a TB in it . The Tb is a little worse for wear having lost an eye and also almost its identity. The tracking code very hard to see . Maybe the next person could think of an inventive way to make number more obvious . I just kept for a very short time a it was part of grandkids school hols. Ty
As we were in the area collecting Redants from the Tawa Scouts Easter Camp (that they have had here for the last 19 years), we thought it would be rude not to find this cache. I'm not sure what they do at these camps as this was the third time Redants had been here and he still hadn't found this cache. We arrived just as they finished packing up, so just enough time to have a run on the flying fox then off to get our feet wet (not).
Cache easily found, signed and re-hid with a bit more cover so not so visible. TFTC.

After Banian picked me up at the end of a Scout camp in Whakaipo Bay, we embarked on a caching journey to Cambridge. We started with this cache, and didn't get wet feeta as lake levels seem down. TFTC
What a lovely bay found thanks to geocaching. We spent a couple of hours here swimming and sunbathing.
Just moved to the area so a nice find for us. Also a chance to introduce our friends to the geocache world.
Thanks for the cache...we love Whakaipo Bay so a great hide

Fantastic day for kayaking @ Whakaipo Bay! Easy find for our youngest GCer over some slippery rocks!
Found it after wet feet, needs new pencil, we will replace. Enjoyed the search, special spot.
Parked up to see the New Year in at the reserve. Lake was reasonably warm and only low waves so only had wet warm feet, first time ever in here so pleased to have a reason to go right to the end. Tftc
Found it but got wet feet. Nice bay! Great place to hide a cache. Together with Pandabär13. TB out. TFTC.
Impressive rock wall..first time this close and we have lived here for a lifetime!
TYFC. took me two attempts in same dy . i enjoyed the search ... Good cache .Took sewing kit .put in soap.

Found during nice afternoon bike trip to this great bay. The water level is low, so no wet feet today.
But lot of water grass on the stony beach. The bay is very nice. Great view on the vocanos with the snow hats.
I looked for the cache little bit longer. After a few wrong places I finally found it.

Did today with Wandering Dragons, MycroMan and Crystal Fairy. Had a great time throwing stones into the water. A beautiful morning. TFTC!
Cache #359
Cache #359
Cache #1025 - an absolutely stunning location. Never would have found this little cove if we hadn't been drawn here by the two caches in the vicinity. A nice short walk for this one, and a bit of work finding the cache. Eventually went back on the beach, got a new orientation on the GPS and realised we were looking a bit too far to one side. Straight to the cache after that, much to Crystal Fairy's surprise. Thank you for bringing us here.
Now this is what geocaching us all about. An absolute gem of a location and had the cache in hand after a short search. The cache was found quite a few metres to the right of the location our GPS was pointing to. T4TC. Did with Mycro Man, Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly
Searched and searched with 6 kids but couldn't find it - will have to go back and look again sometime [?]
What a beautiful bay! Went there with raewynandkeith, like previous loggers we were tricked by the 'wet feet' title. Due to such a long hot summer and therefore a lower lake, there is no need for wet feet to find this cache at the moment
YAY! Found it after a bit of hunting, had to stop and think again, reading the last logs about using cache instinct helped lots, think I got a bit excited about the whole wet feet thing and was momentarily distracted, amazingly gorgeous area, very satisfying find after a wonderful walk along the shore front, great views, awesome! TFTC!
Each time I have been out here, I have forgotten to take the GPS, but not today, found this cache just before launching our kayaks to have a paddle in the waves. !
This cache was not where I first thought it might be, which was a bit disappointing, but perhaps also a bit of a big ask - the maintainence requirements would have been quite extreme! The GPSr struggled under the trees, but eventually took me past something that seemed a touch suspicious - aha!
Was pleased to find this on my second attempt, I looked for it about three years ago after only recently starting caching. On both occasions I was in the area for some night orienteering - wish me luck tonight!

No wet feet for me today despite quite a high lake level - I was wearing good waterproof tramping boots with tight-fitting gaiters and was able to wade to the cache and back with dry feet inside. Found cache using mainly "cacher's instinct" after about a 5-minute search. I enjoyed coming here - TFTC and for bringing me to this spot for the first time!
Nice location, thanks, but could not find it. Obviously need to read the old logs carefully first.
large tree fallen near by thought it may have taken cache with it but luck was on our side and with the help of previous logs we were able to find and sign cache TFTF
Last time I was here was about 18 months ago, helping Alouette955 to find the cache. The water was very low and it, combined with the vague hint led us to look for aaages! This time though the lake is much higher, did get my boots wet for about 2m, then up the bank and I nearly walked on the cache! So easy find this time, the old cache is all in good condition log a tad damp but no worries. TFTC
Brrr bit chilly for poor Mr FF in the water! Could not find - will try again in warmer weather!
