Travelling with richlink on a trip from Perth to Darwin and return through the centre to SA and home again. We are in Darwin for a few days before heading south again.
Today, we drove to Adelaide River, enjoying the scenery, history, and, of course, the caches along the way. Thanks CREWIMLOST2.

Travelling with iluvtrekking and a return visit after eleven years. Today we are caching down to Adelaide River and surrounds. Last cache of the day and got there just before the gate was locked. Thanks for the hide.
TFTC what an interesting hike. Loved the water show. A bit off in discription, happy for the find. Happy caching.
Time to catch up on some logging.
Don't go too far from the pole.
Thanks for hiding.

Thanks for hiding.
Found this one on the trip from Batchelor to Jabiru. Getting the caches done super early in the morning really helped with the heat. The humidity is insane but it’s really when the sun is beating down on you that it’s hard going. Thanks for placing these caches TFTC
This one was a great little walk out to the dam wall and looking at the history along the way. Saw a croc trap fully set up which was very cool. We really enjoyed this diversion off our long road trip and it was great to be here early morning to avoid the muggles. Giving a FP for bringing us somewhere we wouldn’t normally have gone

Such great history but a shame it is falling into disrepair. Disappointed at the dam wall that you couldn't really see very much and were not allowed to walk out onto it. I understand why though. Quick cache find but it's much closer to the pole than the hint suggests. Maybe cache creep? TFTC
Heading further into the territory we took the opportunity to collect as many smilies along the way as we could within the timeframe we had, happy to say we came up trumps here and came away with a smiley TFTC
With the long dry season the Dam level is well down & there is no water cascading over the wall. A great showcase of some amazing history & infrastructure. T4TC!
Well being reliant on the hint sort of helps, but it’s much closer to the pole than the hint says.
Probably in need of a new log shortly.
Container is in really good condition.

An interesting spot to visit. Once at GZ the cache was found without problem. Log signed and back safe again. A chance to do some more exploring.
Thanks

Given the detailed hint I made hard work of this looking too high on the hill. Regrouped and made a good find in a logical spot. TFTC CREWIMLOST2
Family of 6 travelled around Australia in a camper trailer on the holiday road trip of our lives. It's been a long time since we came home, but I kept good notes and am now reliving our trip by logging the caches we found on our travels.
After restocking in Darwin we headed to Litchfield National Park. It ended up taking us most of the day as we stop to see all the sights! We enjoyed checking out both sides of the dam today - although with all the croc warning we were concerned about the people swimming here! We noticed in the larger part of the dam there were traps out, but I know I certainly wouldn't let the kids near the waters edge!
Thanks for the cache - a photo attached from the other side of the dam to show we were here (can you spot the croc trap?)!

On a clockwise half lap of the East side of Australia. Travelling from Batchelor to Darwin decided to grab a few caches despite the afternoon heat. Thanks to all the CO'S for their valuable work and maintaining the cache's.

Enjoyable walk past the old buildings. Interesting historical place. Found cache safely tucked away even though the surrounds have been burnt. TFTC
Found the cache ok decided to continue our walk to the top of the dam, don't waste your energy there are locked gates at the end and you can't see the dam (damm)

Today we explored Berry Springs and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. We picked this one up on the way.

Glad to hear this is still going.
If you visit and see it needs some TLC please give it. This was my 1st CACHE and I live a long way away now. I enjoy reading the comments left and hope the CACHE lives on for a bit more yet

Quick find on a lovely morning. Thanks for the clue! Made life a lot easier! TFTC
Found on way to get a new cache at manton. Haven't been up to the dam wall since I was about 8 years old... Tftc!
It was pretty hot and dry out at the dam today. I'd like to come back in the wet and see the water coming over the dam wall. The cache was all good and found easily. TFTC.
Continuing our journey towards Darwin, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
A nice stroll from the highway, on a good path.
Thanks to the hint, made it a good find.
Thanks for the hunt today, CREWIMLOST2.

What a fantastic place hidden away from the day to day tourist [:o]
I rolled into the parking spot around midday to find the place completely deserted.
This seems to be another amazing Territory tourist spot that has lost it's gloss and goes ignored by the passing hoards [:o]
The information boards are faded and rusted, as is the heavy duty industrial equipment on display.
But the area is so peaceful, out of earshot of the highway.
And so full of wartime and present day history
If you like a bit of oily machinery, or even a leaky dam, then this cache is well worth chasing
I spent well over an hour in here.
The cache was a nice easy find, once I reduced the Territory metres down to half size
TFTC, I loved every minute of it.

what a fantastic and interesting area would have loved to stay longer

After 5 days in Darwin for the V8's and a little sightseeing it was time to head south back to the cold. Of course we grabbed caches on the way.
Distances are more like 1m and 1.5m up - may have been some cache creep. TFTC.

Great historic site of Darwin's water supply. Easy enough find, just a matter of picking which rock. Tftc
This area is great at the end of the wet when there is a huge waterfall flowing over the wall here.
There was a sign up here today saying that a croc was spotted here today, no luck for us in spotting it today thought.

A very hot walk to the cache. And I was going to read the main information board at the parking area, however, the MASSIVE amount of ants on that area meant I didn't learn a thing!!!
Such an interesting site and the pink and white flowering shrub was stunning. TFTC.
Thanks for taking us to the dam. Cache is good. TFTC

Walked the low walk then the high walk to get the cache. Continued on to the plug as far as we were allowed. Was interesting to watch the very active fish in the pools below. Thanks.
Thanks for bringing us here, we have driven past numerous times not ever knowing what was there just off the road. Great history lesson and quiet a pretty place to visit. TNLN. TFTC.
Really enjoyed coming back here after many years - brought back some happy family memories! Had place to ourselves today and soon had cache in hand with very helpful clues T4TC
Found as a part of Team SaintsMadHouse and now that the kids have grown we each have our own accounts to finddd geocaches with separately wherever we go!Night time cache. No torch just GPS and pen. Lucky there was some light still available from the sheds etc.

Looked and looked around GPS GZ and also hint GZ, as they are some way apart, but to no avail.
I will endeavour to look harder next time.

Found while on holiday from NZ. We appreciated a sealed road, and a sealed walkway to this one. A very interesting spot to visit, with its view of the lake, its history, and bird life. The cache was in OK condition, thanks to recent maintenance. Well worth the short detour, thanks.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 72 of our annual Climatic Refugee trip, heading down the Stuart Highway towards Adelaide River with the WanderingMrs (aka SWMBO), with the aim of finding a few caches near there and picking up any travellers I came across.
I knew this cache needed maintenance, so I decided to swing by and see what was needed. I had to wonder how I managed to find this cache back in June 2008, with a little over a years experience and less than 600 finds, because the gpsr was still reading 10 metres off, on the other side of the path, by the time I finished what needed to be done.
The cache was very wet inside, and the log was unuseable, so I dried the container and everything useful, including the stash note and two pencils. I left a new log book, ziplock bag and pencil sharpener, and visited my travellers. Unfortunately I didn't know about the log by champstarr, who wrote "... We wrote our name and date on a leaf and put it in the cache", so I probably threw away their leaf. Sorry about that, if I'd know I'd have added them to the new log book.

The log is so wet, smelly and is literally falling to bits. It is impossible to write on it at all- it needs a replacement ASAP. We wrote our name and date on a leaf and put it in the cache (its all we had!), lovely spot. TFTH

It's a shame that the caches such as this that are only a minute or so off the road, don't get more visitors. It really is a pleasant walk to and from GZ.
Didn't see any crocs in the water today, perhaps it was too warm and they were enjoying the cool water... The cache eluded me for a while.and I found myself looking back at the "marker" to see how far I was wandering off track. Got there in the end though... [^]
The cache has suffered a bit in the rain which is unusual given the type of container. It had water in there that I poured out and the log is saturated and unusable. It needs a little tlc now the rains have subsided.
Cheers CREWIMLOST2

A very enjoyable cache. We loved the walk, view of the dam and the clues which helped us to find the cache without turning over too many rocks. Had lunch there too under the shade of the trees. TNLN. thanks CREWIMLOST2
