Despite registering a DNF on this cache, the CO has kindly confirmed we were in the right spot & found the empty container. More importanty she also kindly granted us permission to log it as a find. It's not often you get to claim a sulky & a smiley on a cache on the same day so thanks heaps Fore! We're stoked we got those chemicals to coexist peacefully without exploding in our faces.
We think we were in the right spot, but we're not 100% sure. We also think we looked at the right spot, but again, we're not 100% sure. What we are 100% sure of is that we didn't find the cache in the spot we looked. Bummer, particularly as it was a gnarly D4 puzzle nut to crack. CO emailed to remove that niggling 0.1% doubt.
Made a crazy dash to Canberra for a 3 day weekend so we could meet up with Liz & Bruce for one day at Christmas -- used geocaching to sightsee (my first trip to the ACT/Canberra region) and packed more in a day than I think I've ever done before. Worked a few puzzles in the days leading up to the meet up. I had to use all of the hints and got some help from Adelaide puzzlers too. Got the solution in the end and enjoyed the find. Thanks Fore!
CO confirmed I was in the right spot & it is missing. Sadly it might be the end for this cache which is a shame because it was a good puzzle (meaning I could actually solve it). Logged as found with permission of the CO. Thanks Fore! the cache.
I had this one worked out a while ago & was keeping it as a backup for Pi day. Luckily I did not need it. I arrived at gz today and I think it might be gone. I'll check with the CO. Stay tuned !
I solved this fairly quickly and easily, but still need the CO to confirm my answer was correct, which she did.
Today I was on this side of town and found a couple of puzzle caches that will send my D/T combo in the direcxtion I want it to go. I found the cache easily enough, but the bag containing the log is torn and I suspect that the cache container is missing a lid as the log book was clearly visible, but I could be wrong.
Thanks Fore! for a fun cache.

A little while back I worked out the no.s for this one with the help of YRPsycho as we share an office. He seems to be a bit of a mystery. Errr mystery cache expert. So with my first attempt being a bit off, he spotted my errors and we had a good set of number not to long latter.
Cache nicely set up. But unfortunately there is a crack in the camo. So the log is visible. It will need some tlc soon.
Thanks for the cache.

The twenty fifth find for the day whilst riding around the area. I was really on a puzzle streak at this point! I had solved this one quite some while ago. I parked my bike close to GZ and then made my way over to where my GPS said zero. A very clever hide! I only spotted it because it wasn't quite closed properly. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Fore!
We met up with Adelaide geocaching friends Skippy and Semik nice and early so as to make for a full day of Canberra sightseeing and Geocaching. We managed to visit 3 lookouts, the War Memorial and witness the closing ceremony (and got to say gidday to Winterdragan who by chance was there too), we also visited Parliament house, saw the City Christmas lights and ended up at a Dumpling place for dinner at 9pm. We did a mix of caches including puzzle, traditional and earth and this was one of the caches we targetted and found [^][^] Thanks to Fore! for placing this cache and enhancing the pleasure of our day out and about in Canberra.
Geodad solved this on the way to Canberra.
I really like how it was hidden. Needs a new bag.
Since we parked at McDonalds to find this cache we decided to have lunch there.

Sat down and doodled with this puzzle not expecting to get it sorted in 10 minutes, but I did! Some of that high school chemistry paid off. Scouted the GZ yesterday and the muggle factor was high, but stopped at GZ tonight after collecting another puzzle near by. Realised that the muggle factor was intermittent, so timed the retrieval between waves. Great cache and hide, but the lid is broken and needs maintenance. A favourite point from me! Thanks Fore! the cache!
Thanks for the help with the puzzle! Although I had my thoughts right i needed some confirmation. Today I had a day out in Canberra and decided to cache in the cache. Great container and great idea! Unfortunately the lid is wearing of and the plastic is very fragile. I had to make a few emergency repairs on the inside of the lid. As for now the cache is fine, but on the long run the lid will need replacement.

Fotrtunately I had most of those ingredients lying around the house, and a couple of glass beakers that I could mix them up in. Unfortunately the quantities aren't given, so I just threw in a good amount of each, shook it up, and hoped for the best.
The south coordinates just turned purple, from the potassium pemanganate, then blonde from the hydrogen peroxide. Pretty easy to convert that to coordinates!
The east coordinates went blue from the copper sulfate, and the sodium hydroxide neutralised the acid, so that's pretty obvious as well!
At GZ, I spotted the container fairly quickly, but then took a while to work out how to open it, while trying to not be too obvious... Got there in the end .
TNLN - Thanks Fore!

Found 7:08 pm on the commute back home. Had worked out the potential locations last Saturday but after a quick check of two spots it was either impossible or unlikely that left this one. But it was too cold that night to continue and look over in this direction. So found today glad to have found it and keeps a streak going for me. I think it's a great hide location obviously care is needed.
A few days to spare after the National Folk festival so a few caches are in order.
Thanks Fore!

Puzzle solved before leaving home.
We stopped to grab some lunch & decided this was a good time to wander off to find the cache.

457 Learned a bit doing this one. Tks Fore!
At GZ, I realised I had forgotten a writing implement, so had to re-visit GZ later. Stealth mode engaged. Chose a quiet time of day, so no issues.

An afterwork impromptu mini mission with specimenX.
I was feeling a little stiff from the weekend adventures with Boot65 and FurfacesLL in Wagga Wagga so I decided to message specimenX to see if she was up for another little afterwork adventure. The response was yes so off we went.
Decided to pick up this one and specimenX had a good chuckle at the cache container. Logging duties performed and cache returned.

Found with Rapidlywild during another one of our after work mini missions.
I was a good little scientist and completed my science homework a little while ago, so I was just waiting for an opportune time to collect. And tonight was THE night! We were heading back home now from the city as it was dark and it was a school night lol. And that meant the place was fairly quiet. After timing things just right I jumped out of the geomobile and made the find in seconds. Love the hide-fave from me! TNLNSL.

# 6774 Found on another cool Spring day for a drive around the area.
No more rain again and hardly any muggles around here today.
I had solved this long ago, and finally made it here.
I drove past a few times and couldn't work it out, until I got here on foot.
Another very good hide and a quick find thankfully. TN LN SL.
Thanks for the cache once again Fore!,

Found this cache when in Canberra for the Turner exhibition. Great camo! TFTC
Having solved this yonks ago, but never having a chance to stop by GZ, I went for a ride this afternoon specifically to grab this.
Clever cache, and can't believe I didn't see it on my first sweep.

Woo Hoo !!! Another Fore! puzzle cache solved and found.
The first attempt at calculation gave me a GZ that wasa couple hundred metres away from the correct GZ. I was close the first time but not close enough. I went back home and redid the calcs and found where I had made my mistake. Unfortunatley there was no checksums to verify the solution. C'est la vie.
The cache container was yet another one of Fore!s interesting cache containers.
Thanks Fore! gets a Favourite from me for the puzzle and the container.

#475 - 15:10; Dropped the Geoteen at work and headed in to town on an errand when I realised there was an opportunity to pick this cache up after solving the puzzle earlier in the week. Parked at the nearby hamburger emporium and made the trek to GZ. A nice easy find and the log was completed and returned in no time. TFTC Fore!
Surprised myself by solving this. Had some numbers that were way too big at first, but then calculated things differently and got better numbers. Very clever hide, well done. TFTC!
Number six for the day. Solved the puzzle easily a week ago and have been keen to see if I solved it correctly. I did and with hardly any traffic this was easy to grab. Awesome hide.

Oops. Must have made a mistake with the formula or the transcription into GPSr. This doesn't look like the right place. Will have to recalculate before coming back to ACT. Thanks for chance to use some chemistry once again.
Marco's boss solved this puzzle for us (but Marco wasn't 100% confidant he had it correct), so we headed off to check it out. Did a bit of dodgy parking (that's what hazard lights are for isn't it??) and made our way to GZ. We scratched our heads for a bit and thought we must have been in the wrong place when all of a sudden the light bulb went on and there was the cache! We love it when you can hide a cache out in full view of passing traffic!! Well done Fore! TNLNSL TFTC
Solved this one a while back, and have been meaning to locate it for a while. Late night chance to grab this one on the way from a nearby friend's house.
Lid seemed extremely tight and was hard to remove and replace, but with the aid of a tool it came out eventually.

The Lost Wanderers were visiting this fair city and solved a couple of puzzle caches before making the trip. Mrs. Lost Wanderer studied biochemistry and Mr. Lost Wanderer is a nurse so this puzzle was perfect for us. When it came to picking up the cache, Mrs. Lost Wanderer did the duck and roll out of the car and made the find while Mr. Lost Wanderer kept the wandering mobile going and went around the block. He did come back and we were quickly on our way once more. Thanks for the cache.
And to think I bombed out in Chemistry at school! Found @ 1520 on a quick caching run to break up a day at the Folk Festival. I'd solved the puzzle a couple of weeks ago in anticipation of the visit, but without any way to check the numbers I wasn't at all convinced about where they were sending me - so during a chat with SirJ-OZ this morning I threw him the GC info to see what he came up with. His numbers concurred (though he also found others that I hadn't figured on), so as a reward for behaving myself so far I slipped away to make the find. A nice bold hide that was obvious when approached from the right direction - the log was retrieved and signed (TNLN) between waves of muggles. Thanks for the cache Fore!, and for a reason to escape the folky folk for a while.
I must of listened at school. Puzzle was relatively easy to solve and GZ was very clever. Another great "Fore" cache. T very much FTC. #16
Mr Stormcatcher applied some of his old Chemistry knowledge to help get this one out fairly quickly which was good as we are quickly running out of caches in the area. With no checksum we hoped that Mr Stormcatcher's counting and chemistry skill wasn't to rusty. Arriving at GZ Mr Stormcatcher was a little worried he may have got it all so very wrong but Miss Stormcatcher had a bit more faith and on closer examination we soon revealed the cool hide. Thanks Fore! for another fun puzzle cache and all the Atoms. TFTC
Solved with a bit of serious head scratching. Never was a fan of chemistry and we can see that hasn't changed one little bit either. Great hide.
Thanks for another great cache Fore!
Thanks for another great cache Fore!
Hard to be stealthy on this one. I wasn't sure of my chemistry, but it turned out ok. TFTC!
This was nice and easy to get to since I was camping literally 50m from the cache! Well... except when we had go all the way to the front entrance of EPIC to get out to the road, but nonetheless.... Figured out the puzzle pretty quickly (Chemistry was always my strong suit ) and found the cache with some help from one fellow cacher and one now ex-muggle. TNLNSL. TFTC!
An excellent stroll through fundamental chemistry. Thanks for the memories! A great puzzle that took us to the wrong place using the wrong calculation. A re-calibration and we soon had the find. Our first four, thanks fore!
Who needs checksums when you know GZ. Hahaha.... I must admit solving this one was easier due to the fact I knew what the answer was as I had been with Norkmeister, Agent Basil & dopplefrog on a northside caching run last week....I just needed to figure out the question. Chemistry was most definitely NOT my for(e!)te at school but I must have learned something since then. Liked the hide.
Gang of five was on a roll, well that's what cars do when you put air (O and other bits) in their tyres. A skilful bit of hazard flasher work and nochalant sauntering and straddling and signing and we were that bit closer to our true destination - lunch at the George Harcourt !
Love the 'hidden in plain view' approach to this one. Nicely done.
Out on a multi/puzzle run with Agent Basil, Mtrax, BatGirl&Co and Norkmeister.

A day of caching was planned in Namadgi, but a dodgy-sounding weather forcast put BatGirl off. A northside invasion was then proposed, which turned into a "no-traditionals" day where we would eschew straight-forward caches in favour of those less travelled caches.
I buggered up solving this a while ago and had searched for it inside EPIC. After some advice on chemistry I came up with some coordinates that tallied better with the previous finder's logs.
At GZ I was impressed with the hide.

yep pretty interesting choice to park, but Agent Basil got us pretty close while Norkie did the honours and then in the lull in the traffic we all piled out to check out GZ,
Perhaps I should now try to solve some of the fore caches closer to home .. eeep.
thanks

A great birthday present for Temingi's 67th. This is cache find No.1700. Solved the puzzle back home in QLD and after looking at my co-ords on Google Earth, I said bet I know where the cache container is,but I was wrong. Never mind ,found it anyway. Thanks Fore for a great cache. TNLNSL
Wonderful cache! Love it! Here at the National Folk Festival having a wonderful time. TFTC
No sleep long time and no idea soon had me stopping in a likley spot with some thoughts of this could be anywhere. But not to be bold and beautiful. Somehow we were still going and enjoying ever strange monent of this tour of town.

We we very sceptical about the co-ords we arrived at for this one and being very late at night and no traffic about we slowly approached the site. Spotted something from about 10m away and had the cache log in hand in seconds.
This would be one of the boldest exposed hides we have come across in a long time.
Well done on the puzzle and hide.

Reperio at 1050. Had spent a little time on the puzzle as it seemed I kept getting one or two numbers wrong (don' know how) until finally they worked out. Today I cruised by GZ...three times actually looking for a good place to park until finally resorted to parking right next to it to use the car as cover, and quickly jumped out, signed the log, and was on my way. Certainly a very bold hide indeed...but nicely done.

After getting back from the trip to cowra I just wanted to be there for my mate. No didnt solve the problem but did it to take the photo. Well done Jusojara and hope for many more. Yarrrr - Hoooo - Cache number 1000.
We had discussed what cache we would make our 1000th and Ra wanted to make it a Fore! cache. Our first was a Fore! cache as well as our 100th, so (and as she enjoys your puzzles) it was only fitting that our 1000th was also a Fore! cache. I had been on a trip to Cowra today and had to pass up some finds there to ensure I didn't go over the mark and when I returned we all headed out for this one.
Ra has worked this one out some time ago but we thought she had something wrong as the coords did not seem to be a logical place. After some conformation from Fore! that she should trust her initial instincts we all (including the Geomutts) headed out tonight to grab this as our 1000th. In the end it was Ju who made the find and we also had mr_roo on hand to take a photo of our moment.
Thanks Fore!, another of your enjoyable caches off our list with (hopefully) many more to come.

Another long-solved puzzle off the list. At GZ, saw the "real" spots and thought they were the hide and that it was brilliant. Then realised it wasn't a cache at all. Found that nearby. And it's still excellent, although it could probably do with another coat of paint to blend in better now. TFTC Fore!
The logs all suggested this was a memorable hide and I certainly have to agree. The bolder the better sometimes! I too spent far too long looking for a place to park and then tried to locate the cache but was stymied by a fence! The long walk around was worth it and the retrieval and replacement was carefully timed to avoid attention.
Thanks!

Morning # 5 in canberra.
We spend 10 minutes trying to find somewhere to park - ended up 300m away. So we wandered up to GZ in the dark. We ignored the obvious spot because it almost looked natural and checked out a few of the other spots nearby before returning.
Given the location and time we probably could have parked and virtually leaned out the window.
Thanks for the puzzle and cache.

Great spot - I loved how public it is. I won't be able to stop myself looking for it every time I drive past.
Now that was a cool hide! Most muggles wouldn't notice it! Thanks for a fun cache and puzzle!
Unlike some of Fore!'s puzzles I solved this one fairly quickly. The cache itself was also a nice easy find. TFTC

one of many caches (30 I think)
we managed to find on a "Brethren invade Canberra" weekend
So many caches so little time.
We had to fit in looking at some old paintings and some science content got in there somehow
(Questacon) but otherwise lots of caching was done.
thanks guys in Canbera for putting out so many great caches!

Final cache of the night caching run with Pesky!.
Mrs Shifter solved the puzzle just after it was published three years ago, however we couldn't locate the cache then. This is the first time we have returned and been able to look for it.
Mr Shifter dropped off Mrs Shifter and Pesky! to locate the cache. By the time he had turned the corner to go around the block we had arrived at GZ and Pesky! had located the well hidden cache. Being at the right angle can really help.
The container is starting to lose some of its paint.
A good puzzle and cache.

I had a little help with this cache. I sent Fore! an email to ask if I was working out the sum correctly. Once I knew my coord's were correct I grabbed slowdad and tried to head out. A little voice called out as we headed to the car asking where we were going, I told my 4 year old nephew we were going geocaching. he replied with 'oh geocaching' his Pop then asked him if he wanted to come with us and he was in the car before I had his child seat setup. We found the cache quickly, it's easy to spot but like others have said if you didn't cache you wouldn't think twice about it. Thanks Fore! for the cache and letting me know I haven't completely forgotten my maths skills. Kat'
Found it with the psychodaughter and a 4 year old grandson. The grandson was a last minute addition but always fun to go caching with even if he does forget what geocaching means. Psychokat did the maths for this one, which evens out for the micro's and nano's I find that had her scratching her head . Quick find once we got to ground zero. Thanks
Using the decoy of our SES vehicle we were able to stop and do the deed very quickly. Isn't it funny how a muggle would walk past this a thousand times and not even see it.
Thanks
Thanks
After much chemical analysis this cache can finally be ticked off the list. A number of different calculations had us scratching our heads inside exhibition park but after some confirmation and a recalculation the spot was identified and a drive by today. How many times have we driven pas this one and not known? I'll look at this every time now. TFTC!
I turned to this puzzle for some late night entertainment. It all seemed to fall out once I saw a way forward. Then, amazingly, I got the maths right! Maybe all that boolean training in school? So with some time up my sleave I made the find. Spot on GZ! Tks Fore!
I was a very lucky duck today. RatPackLeavings did all the hard work and I came along to help out with a troublesome GZ. Great hide Fore, as they all are. Love your work (and help everytime I need it).
Found at last with multiple mathematical errors before me. A great sneaky hide, TFTC and the Yr 12 Chemistry refresher.
Found by Mary & David at 1040. The engineer enjoyed the puzzle. A little fore!ay into another of your specialities? We have seen similar overt hides in Bendigo and Shepparton. Great fun. Our thanks again to Fore!
Having the day off work, and with Jack finally over his 'sprained paw', I thought I would take the geodogs for a long, LONG, walk. The plan was 'Youthful Refore!m', 'Law Enfore!cement', 'Sister Act', 'Night at the Movies', 'Majura's Flat' 'Northside Driveby', 'Matilda's Memorial', 'Elementary my dear Watson' and 'Chemical Fore!mulae' . So, cache 9 of 9.
Having attempted to solve this several times I finally realised my mathematical errors (add NOT multiply) and decided to make this cache the last for the days adventures.
Unfortunately, there were a few things against me. Firstly, I obviously still had errors in working out GZ as there was very little where the coords had me that fitted the clues.
Secondly, the fences were open when I walked into the area GZ had put me but they weren't when I tried to leave. So, me with two geohounds were stuck behing a 6 foot fence with triple barbed wire strands at the top. The workers must have left the area and locked up behind them while I was searching for the cache.
So, wandering the entire area I finally resorted to breaking out.
Dogs were pushed under the fence in a small gap while I went over the top. End result - we broke out but my pants will need a slight repair effort and some detol will be required on my arm. Ah, the joys of caching - it isn't real unless there is blood involved!
Back to the drawing board for this cache.

Ahhhh....I love a puzzle that even I can solve!
No problems with the puzzle, I actually wasn't too bad at Chemistry in school. Parked nearby and had a short walk to GZ.
I have to say, this is close to the number 1 "Hide In Plain Sight" cache that I have done!
TFTC!

Found with rubai and JezzzaXtreme. After finishing up at EPIC we found ourselves on the wrong side of a fence, requiring a detour around. Afterward, a fairly quick spot.
Thanks!
Thanks!
#169: Found with JezzzaXtreme and linFox. Just before we headed out for the computer fair JezzzaXtreme alerted me that there was an unfound cache nearby. Solved the puzzle just as he came to pick me up. Once we found a way to get around the fence we quickly found the cache.

Found this with rubai and linFox on the weekend. Having been visiting an 'event' the direct line approach failed due to a large fence being in the way, but after circumnavigating this obstacle, we found the area rather quiet and the cache rather quickly.
Thanks, Jezzza Xtreme.

I'm amazed it only took me to tries to get my calculations right. Very nice hide.
Huzzah, after failed calculations months ago, I rechecked with Fore! A few very helpful emails (I refuse to recognize Lithium as a chemical it's my excuse!) and I got the correct calcs.
I pulled over and almost parked on the cache, but it's No Parking here, so I parked nearby in the shade and did a 200m walk to GZ. I spotted the cache straight away. Very gutzy (gutsy even). Love the container.
Log and then back to work!

Robmc sorted the puzzle (again). But then he should since this is his trade. The find was only hard in that we didn't know where to park at first and yes stealth is required I must say. Very sneaky!
Thanks again Fore

Chemical formulae (even with the e!) present no problems with calculations, so the co-ords were soon in hand. We drove past GZ a couple of time before the call of the cache made us stop.
We started on the wrong side of the fence in the hope that parking wouldn't be a problem - not as such! A short walk was in hand. I had a couple of birthday cards to post but the advertised box was no where to be seen
There was a cache though, signed and dashed.
Thanks, Robmc.

Very cunning hide indeed. Not sure about parking here, but wasn't too bad late at night. Cheers Gav [3168]
Found with the kiwi team on our great Australian caching tour. Good hide, we all enjoyed finding this one.

Wasn't too sure about the coords for this one but went to GZ for a look anyway - Bingo ! What a fantastic hide - have never seen one like it before and was glad of GeoTeens eagle eyes. Was thankful that we went in the evening - wouldn't have been good on a Saturday morning!! T: dice L: clan pathtag - TFTC and TFTH

As usual needed some help with my maths. Found cache very nicely tucked in, and had to get the timing right to retrieve it.
Thanks for the puzzle and the hunt, Fore!.
