As the equestrian trail has been closed by the ACT Parks, Conservation and Lands due to the damage caused by the recent heavy rain, the area leading to this cache is off-limits and unsafe.
UnFore!tunately this cache is now archived (the container was retrieved from further downstream!). I hope to reincarnate this cache at a later date. Thanks to all who visited.

Finally got up this part of town to find this cache, and retrieve the TB inside - only to find that fogg was here earlier today... Geokids swapped toys, geodad scored some cool scratches from the barbed wire fence (picked the wrong trail, made a slight detour) signed log. TFTC!
This was sort of the culmination point of my 12 hours MTB cache raid through the northern suburbs. I did something similar before almost two year ago (3 days missing), but at that tour had a DNF on this cache. I searched for a (felt) half an hour, then there was the snake - and I left as fast as I could.
This year when I planed the cache raid, the cache was not on the the planned route. But when I noticed that it was sort of close, I included it. I remembered that it was a nice trail to ride. And, of course, eliminating a DNF is one of the extra points you can get.
So, this time it took me 5 minutes to figure out where the box was hidden and I was able to finally log the cache.

Was out for a walk with geopooch and decided to look for this cache. Really nice walk, no wildlife but did give a couple of friendly horses a pat.
Love the container, a real treasure. Surprised this cache wasn't flooded despite the recent rain we've had, you can see where the water level was.

Thanks to my lovely [xx(] geocaching assistant allrounder, this cache is good to go!
Fifth of six caches on a maintenance check run.
All is good with this one - the container is muddy but the contents are safe and sound. Cache on!

Not where it was when I found it, but then, neither is the road. I spent a morning here during the first flood. There was a nasty series of whirlpools forming on the top side, sucking air through the pipes and out the other side. And the dog was gonna go for a swim. I took a video of a log I threw in. Sucked straight down and ejected out the other side in just a couple seconds. Good fun But not for puppies.
Co-ords have changed since I found it, though. I'll try the new co-ords soon.
UPDATE: Tried the new co-ords today (16th) and relied on the hint. GPS had me consistantly within 2 metres of the same spot. Unfortunately, most of the area is under debris. I moved as much as I could, but underneath is farely well washed out, right up to 50cms under the permanent concrete road support in places. I think you'll have to get out for a look.

=( we spent a good amount of time looking for this one. Has anyone been here/checked it since the last lot of rains? the water level was low, but there was alot of debris all over the place... including a few containers smashed and empty a bit 'down stream'...
so either it got washed away? or we are just bad hunters =P

Headed out to this one with the whole troupe and replaced it with an ammo can. It's not in the same location as it was originally (updated hint provided) but it's now restocked and ready to go. I still love this location, overall - it's a great walk for any geohound - safe and protected, and a pleasant, albeit short, stroll. Huxley's always curious about the REALLY big dogs in the nearby paddocks. Hilarious.
We enjoyed the walk to this one but sadly when we got to GZ we couldn't find the cache although we did find an A4 sheet of stickers and 2 parts of a snap lock box that seemed to fit together. There were dead reeds over the concrete path which seemed to indicate water had been flowing over the top. Looked everywhere and found the stuff the clue mentions but no cache. We think this one may have gone.
I pretty much walked from my house to NSW.
It was my hope that I'd be able to easily get to this one from "There's a Hole in My Bucket...", but there's a fence line the whole way so I ended up walking back around counter-clockwise until I reached a gate that I thought was the entrance to an equestrian trail on public land... so I jumped it.
I soon discovered a herd of cows, so I'm relatively sure that I trespassed to get there.
Took a geocaching "X" sticker, left a furry white little ball. TFTC

Cache found in good order for an early Sunday morning walk amongst the horses, cattle and flies. Took trackable to place in another cache. Many thanks for the cache Fore!
Cache 10 of 30 for our day's Northside Noodge (great word, look it up )
Another lovely wander this morning, although with the heat kicking in, GeoPup really wanted a swim. Being the meanie that I am and not wanting the lovely 'wet dog' smell all day, I had to say no ...
Thanks Fore!, yet another great location with the bonus of a Fore! PathTag.

Visited by the maintenance crew of Fore!, Shadow!, allrounder and Huxley. Cache replaced, travellers swapped. All good to go!
Found this cache after a nice stroll down a track. Enjoyed the beauty of the Pattersons Curse in the nearby paddock. Found cache on opposite side of track than we'd expected, just sitting there near some long grass. Owner might want to check it's location and adjust if necessary. Seems to me that it is in constant danger of being swept away in it's present location. Cache was wet inside. Log was wet. Left new log and new ziplock to protect the log. Left the decent swag in a new ziplock and removed the smelly and wet items. No sign of Tamykian, No time to Sleep TB. Took: Mr Incredible, candle and tea bag. Left: new log and ziplocks, crayons, car, and Race to the Top TB. Also dipped some other trackables for miles. TFTC.
Left TB in this cache. Forgot to put it in my log. It wants to get to Mt. Everest!!!! Can anyone help it get there???
A lovely sunny walk down to the cache. Cache was wet. Has been dried as much as possible and new ziplocks in cache, but it needs some attention as regards drying it out. We couldn't stay there and wait for the sun to do it's work, sorry. TFTC. TNLN. SL.

Visited this one today on a lunchtime run in the area. Found the cache easily enough, but as noted the other day, a lot of water damage in the cache, particularly in the log, prevented me from signing.
I hadn't intended to pick up anything here, but thought it best to rescue the Blue Tongue TB that was in this cache.

Found this one easily although would've been much better if we'd have driven up the road rather than walked....
The cache is drenched and was unable to use the pen or note pad. Needs maintenance.

A quick drive by before the evening time showers, but a slow walk in the drizzle to sign the log. left No sleep TB. TFTC ;-)>
No flood (thank goodness) and a dribbling crossing helped towards a successful find. I loved the hiding spot and camo. Just to let you know Fore, the hinge isn't attaching base to lid, its come apart. Lid can go on as normal and then click down as normal regardless. Thanks for another great hunt.
A nice evening walk with the dogs, still debating about the fact that I am now driving 15 mins to take them for a walk each night, but the things we do for caching. Dogs enjoyed a swim while I found the cache, grabbed the TB and left another TB (a tea bag this time). TFTC, glad it wasn't flooded.
Found by Mary & David at 1335. We'd been looking fore!ward to doing more Fore! caches since coming across Fore!mer State in Adelaide not long ago. Drove around a bit looking for the best approach, and ended up going back to a spot near a cache we'd done earlier. An enjoyable walk of about 1.7km return. Great views to the hills with splashes of yellow wattle. Dropped off 'Blingg's Lantern' TB. Our thanks again to Fore!
Was a great day for using new gps. Have lived in area for 19yrs, but never new about this great little track for the mutt. Pretty easy find (love the container!) and creek flowing fairly well.
Well after my last DNF in March last year, I was fairly confident that today would be sufficiently cool enough to keep my brown slithering friend away.
This time I parked within about 500m and strolled on down to the GZ.
Being wary of the snake I saw last year I poked around in the grass with a stick and found the cache really quickly in an area I swear I looked last time.

My Foreth find of the afternoon, a pleasant stroll in and good to see a little water trickling through the creek.
Encountered lots of doggies on the way out, it seems to be a very popular owner-walking area for them.
No swaps today, thanks Fore!

Sometimes I wonder how you find these areas Fore!, but the logical path into the cache quickly solved that question. Enroute we said hello to the nags, the light dappled grey coming up for a pat and some grass from the green side of the fence on our return. The cache took a few minutes longer to find than expected, largely while I found a big stick to tap everything with and to shake in the surrounding reeds. Once in hand we rummaged through the swag, decided to TNLN, and signed the cache. A great walk along the Territory's borders. TFTC
Took me a little while to grab the cache, was looking for snakes and things all the way. Hey presto there it is..Thanks fore the cache. ZZ7
My only failure during my MTB cache raid through the northern suburbs today. And I have a good excuse: I was scared away by a snake (probably the snake was also scared away). Being a foreigner, I am not an expert in telling which snake is poisonous. For this reason, I concentrated on the other caches on my list.
Thanks anyway for the cache - Fogg

Turned a half hour trip out to the vet into a 3 hour caching trip and dog walk. This was the second of three finds out this way with two of them having a bit of a walk.
Had to do a bit of searching around at GZ but in the end found it, luckly. A pleasant walk on a very windy morning.

After a walk from fore!ttude with great veiws over dunlop and dunlop ponds. We turns towards the ford where this cache can be founded. Passing a few muggles who were doing some archery in our direction. We got to the ford, where the gps decided to play up after a few minutes I founded this one while the geoneice stood up to grab the cache when i pulled it out of its hiding place. Left Pita the travel bug took a mini screw driver set. Great hiding place
A very pleasant stroll
But no water over the ford today, just a trickle through the pipe underneath
At the coords I wondered for a while where this cache could be hidden. There didn't seem to many safe places [:o]
But with a bit of poking around the cache did appear eventually
I took the Cache Movers geocoin and left Lancashire Lad travel bug.

Despite having detailed access directions from Fore! (many thanks - on my last visit I just didn't drive on far enough), I decided to try something different & take the back roads from the "Falls". Through roads were shown on both my printed street directory & on my GPSr maps. But unfortunately, after some distance I came across a locked gate, so I had to go right back around.
In the end it was a very straightforward cache. I chased some cheeky cows down the horse trail as I approached - they had an access hole through the fence. Fortunately there was no sign of any snake today either - no doubt they were all rugged up in a hole somewhere keeping out of the wind & rain.
I didn't see a GC in the cache, but it was raining so I didn't look at the contents too closely. I also didn't see a pen in the cache (although there might have been one there too) so I left the pen I was carrying with me - I lived to regret that decision at the very next cache!!
TFTC.
Access tip for future finders - keep driving until you get to the "no trespassing/no shooting" etc sign - then you can virtually see the cache site.

2nd find today. No sign of snakes. Got out just after the other crossing but realised that the entrance was further up the road. Great sized cache.
I am more than happy to log a DNF on this one.
After work I headed out for a 2kn round trip walk from where I parked the car.
Once at the GZ I was hunting around for a minute or so when I heard a rustle in the leaf litter off to my right.
Turning to see what it was, I saw a rather large brown snake coiling through all of the washed up debris by the side of the road about two metres away from me.
I stood there for a good couple of seconds while my brain process this bit of information, before I decided that the snake can keep the cache and I high tailed it out of there.
I think that I’ll come back to this one in the cooler months

Found this one after a long trek through the cow paddock... only to find out i could have gone around in the first place. It did make my walk shorter though. Nice little hiding spot for the cache, after the recent rains there was a bit of water flowing past. I also found a dead turtle a little further up the road, must have been displaced out of the creek by the flooding poor little fella.

Another Friday afternoon and another afternoon out hunting caches.....
I use to frequent this area back in the mid 70's when my then girlfriend, now Geopartner, and soon to be Geowife for the second time (but that's a whole other story) keep her horses at the 'Fassifern' named property. The stables and round yard are still there, but the fast approaching housing development will no doubt soon put an end to them as well. I use to ride my old green mustang pushbike out along the dirt road and over the Fore!d and hang around the paddocks and stables til all hours of the day. But, I digress........so back to the cache find!!!!
Followed the clues and after making sure, and hoping, that no legless friends were around, I pulled the cache from it's hiding place, signed the log, and headed back to the car with all the memoires that the area held.
Took 'Reinforcement No.2' TB and left 'Caches Movers' GC
Thanks For!e a memory jogging cache.
Cheers,

7.30pm - at home - bored - nothing on telly. Can't be bothered to drive anywhere. OK how about doing a cache on bike a-la mtbikeroz. Logical cache is the Flooded Fore!d (less than a k away) which I've been putting off for no good reason.
An interesting cross country ride later including herding cows, I get to the Fore!d which has seen plenty of water going through it lately. Lots of rubbish caught here. Always careful of the snake factor I grabbed a large long stick and started to poke around the rubbish and beFore! long I'd located the cache. A nice big one which is well concealed. Signed log at 2030 - getting fairly dark by then. Took the easier but longer route home up past "NSW Border "Flys" by".
Took The Two Towers Travel Bug, Left Nothing.
Thanks Fore! a great Cache !
Cache number 70 (of which 18 have been Fore!'s)

BEWARE the possibility for snakes here.
Noticed the lizard who had moved on to the next life. After further searching nearly put my hand on a dead snake so decided it was time to head back home. It was late 2020 and Salvation Jane is running riot which made the hunt more challenging.

Do NOT look for this cache right now, at least not alone. There is a brown snake trapped] in the mesh [where I wanted to look, and it is very much alive and Not Happy. As well, there is a very ripe dead goanna on the ford, and the flies will carry you away if the smell doesn't get to you first.

Rather revolting overall at the moment (the area, not the cache, which I really hope to find!), but that's nature sometimes; hope to return with someone once it's cleared up, and look for it! Eventually!]

Last find before we had to return to our domestic obligations, so we jogged in here for a quick find. Good flow under the crossing today thanks to last night's rain. TNLN Thanks Fore!
Found 12:59pm.
When I first began geocaching, it struck me how many times I'd walked past these secret lil hiding spots, none the wiser. And now, especially in those out of the way places, when you see someone, you have to wonder if they know (although, sometimes it's obvious Me, I haven't been caught out yet... but I reckon it will come.
I walked right over this cache a few days back, without knowing it was there... so now I feel even sillier. Ya get that. Admittedly, I don't religiously keep up to date, but like to have a look every now and again around my regular haunts. No wonder I've seen an increase in the number of people around these parts.
Unfortunately for cachers, I've been placing caches since I began, but have only posted 1 (now archived). This cache has made me re-think whether I want to attract people to the places I use to get away from it all. At this point in my life, no... time will tell, as I'd love to share them with you (so long as you're not there when I arrive
A note to Fore!: This crossing does get flooded, but I haven't seen it personally, or heard of it happening, for numerous years. Even then, I'd predict the cache will remain safe.
A note to cachers: Don't place anything inside the cache that can't handle moisture. If the cache lasts, there will come a time when it will be submerged for many days.
A note for safety: Brown snakes. This is a horse trail and they have right of way, so dogs should be on a leash, though I often let mine run. You can see for a long way either way, so you have plenty of warning if a horse should be coming along, and I can call my pup back and put him on a leash if needed. Though, at this time of year, keep them on the leash if they like to run off.
It's Eastern Brown snake territory. Day AND NIGHT if it's warm. I'm not trying to frighten anyone, just protect you. Provention is the best cure. Snakes will not be any bother unless cornered or attacked. Just be safe, people
Took: Koala... thanks to whomever... It's going to be a new TB.
Left: Magno Z... those lil magnetic guys I'm going to flood the country with. Muah hahahahaha hargh... .... you get the point

Attempted this one by bike, but couldnt find a way towards it that didnt look like it was private property
Nice stroll to GZ. Been this way once before, must come out for a bike ride one arvo. TFTC
I nice bit of rural so close to the 'burbs. Good place for a picnic, so we had one. The kids did some swaps and I left a TB. Thanks fore! the cache.
Excellent! love these type of caches. lots of friendly horses around here. great hiding spot! left arabic coin, upgraded water pistol TFTC
Had a few false starts trying to determing the way into the forde. Once found it was a pleasant walk on a magnificant winter's day. Got sprung by some walkers as I was reading/signing the log.
Stopped by this one on the way to 'end of the line' on a freezing but fine Canberra day at the end of my holiday break. Geo-puppy was familar with the area and conversed with the natives at GZ much to Fore!s horror. A nice hide and a nice stroll. T: keyring L: koala STL TFTC Fun
Stopped by this one, leaving Shadow! to locate the cache whilst I observed. Huxley (Use TB1NGXG to reference him) had a greta time messing about and had to be stopped from getting up to mischief.
All's well. Still plenty of swaps, and it's nice and dry.

Decided to turn this into a bit of a walk and came in from the wrong side, via several barbed wire fenes and a bunch of cows ... very mooving experience. Nice to find a cache away from the 'burbs. TFTC
This was quite funny as it had been raining and the track was wet and nice and muddy made for some nice sliperty slidy. Like the container. Thank you StevenWill

Found quickly by Last Mile. Also helping we had Mrs Bent and AK. Out on a long bike ride round West Belco. Have run through the Ford a number of times in the past year. TFTC
Found @7:45pm. Getting dark but the track was easy to follow - right to the cache. Cool hide and real camo! TFTC. TNLN
#80 @7:20pm with GPSr
I had been planning an assault on the remaining Fore!midable collection of Fore! caches.
Holding me back was lack of a GPSr - using Google Maps requires very clear landmarks and trees so fore!sts and airport building sites up the bar too much.
Today I got the word from the GeoSpouse - it's here!!! I couldn't escape from work early even though I was chafing at the bit.
Fore!tunately Captain Tomato had given me a brief lesson on his Etrex Legend so no sooner was the Etrex Legend out of the box but the hunt was on! Even Max the Geo Mutt was up for it.
I was about to get a Fore!taste of GPSr hunting - I am sure I was fore-destined for today. [Ok! Have I used the Fore! word enough]
Ok to the cache
We made it to the cache at 7:20pm because we walked in for a kilometre just to savour the experience.
That is a beautiful time of the evening - the sun was almost set but there was lots of light. Horses were out being fed.
The Fore!d wasn't flooded but the pond was certainly full - and really cool - frogs were croaking.
Wow! Ammo container - well hidden
Left: Silver Bear from Fore!ming Paw Behaviours.
Took: Travel Bug - Mickey Fire Truck

A very familiar area. This was part of our training grounds for 'Smoking', not that the terrain compared in any way to that cache. Took nil. Left travel bugs Southampton Hackney Cab and Firemen Mickey. TFTC.
Found @ 3:46pm.
#200 for me! Well concealed (I wonder why that stuff was there in the first place?) - the GPS took me to exactly the right spot but I was bit concerned about poking around there due to the DEAD snake. Looked in a couple of other spots before checking the hint to confirm I'd been in the right spot to start with.
The water level was quite good - there's a couple of big fish in there plus there was a lizard having a swim as well.
Lots of curious cows were also looking on.
Took: red water pistol
Left: 8-ball keyring

Found this one with JezzzaXtreme on a nice but hot day... on the way I found a turtle shell with all of the guts still inside... poor turtle, probably died because of the drought. Anyway, when we got to the cache location I was peering under a doovylacky and there was a snake there and i was so frightened, and then i realised it was dead and being eaten by ants... phew!
anyway, the container has sparked JezzzaXtreme's interest for us to drive to Goulbourn and pick some up. But of course i have to drive because he doesn't have his licence. TFTC

Nice cache. Nice out of the way location. It look me a few visits to find the proper road access on my trusty scooter. But today, I got it.
Nice walk after work, easy find. Nice cool walk after a busy day.
Took Big Spider (already scared the sh*t out of Mrs Peachfuzz with it ) and the TB. Left mouse adapter thingy, EEPROM chip and a dice.

As I approached the start of the trail a group of walkers had just left the trail and I think they where McPhan and clan. Once over the logs it was a quick downhill to the cache site. After looking in the first location which had lot of recent activity I decided to look in the last place as I find this saves time and found another real size cache, glad to see their return to Canberra. Once the caching duties where completed it was back on the bike. Then just as I was leaving people where turning up for their morning walk, which was a nice change as they normally turn up when you are looking for the cache.
436. Once I settled on a spot to start from this walk had it all. Started out with a very very light drizzle. Once that stopped it was actually very chilly and I was wishing I'd brought a more substantial t-shirt. After having to almost completely circumnavigate a large pond it was off to the cache. Both the etrex and imate pointed to one spot just as they had done on the last one. Obviously they were ganging up because there was nothing there. After I ignored them for a bit they both pointed in another direction and there was the cache. This was a real "Hallelujah" moment as the sun broke through the clouds (and beams of light lit the way and a choir of angels... okay I'll stop now)Annnnd there was a little bit of water if not a flood.
Great camo and hide. After placing it back after logging it simply disappears - well done. On the way back I finished circumnavigating the pond accompanied by flys and rising humidity.
L - McPhan wooden nickle TN. TFTC and very pleasant stroll.

Nice walk in the country, shame about the flies. Fairly easy find, a lot of similar cover seems to have been lifted for a look as well. I spotted this track a couple of weeks ago when looking around after doing the other nearby new one, so it was a hmmm moment when this one came up. I secured as found but I hope it's still there after this afternoons storm.

Yes indeed, I too have been out here BeFore! chasing a cache right here. This time, Fore! something different, I came in from the south - (We'll one has to add variety into their cache chasing doesn't one?). Coooeeeeeee.
Nice walk. Good to see some water about. I thought I was going to have company, but the car just dropped off someone to walk back down the bitumun.

I did the Keystone Kops version of this cache, I think. After walking up from "End of the Line", I took a wrong turn and ended up walking through a couple of cow paddocks to get to the cache and had to jump a couple of fences. Now, I'm not as agile as I used to be, so I ended up taking a couple of falls [xx(]. Apart from a couple of grazes, nothing hurt but my pride.
I thought the cache was brilliantly hidden, and the camo paintjob worked a treat.
On the way out, I discovered if I'd only walked another 100m up the hill, I could have used the horse crossing and saved myself all that embarrassment. *facepalm*

Ah ha – another good location revisited! There was a cache here before, about 20m away! So this time I managed to find the right access point straight away! Met a few people along the way, and expected they were geocachers, but no, the first was an ordinary dog walker, and the second was carrying leather straps and a whip! (Glad they weren’t for me!).
No flooding today, but there was a pond with a nice fat fish inside! Thanks Fore!

On the turn of midnight, with an amazing moonlit sky a chorus of cows were echoing around us for the FTF!. Found with Hayleylou.
Nice hiding spot. This one was close to home and I spotted it before hopping into bed, one last adventure for the day!.
Was an absolute perfect night for caching, it was almost blinding to look at the moon!.

Found with frebbles on a spot of moonlit midnight caching! Was about to fall asleep when I was told to get my walking shoes on, but it turned out to be a really nice walk in the cool air and we only needed a torch to sign the log. Lots of frogs and cows about, but at that time not much else, so another FTF! TNLN Nice hide. TFTC
