Not found with Slaytornator and Aniisawesome. Add 3 more people to the DNF list. Had a good hard look and then decided we had bigger fish to fry.
can the co have look and let us know if its still there, this is the last one on my baulko hit list, cheers.
had an idea of what it may be but as the past logs suggest it may have been washed away.
Could the CO please check this cache out to determine whether it has indeed been washed away. I have been monitorng this cache for a while because it is the last in my 6km radius hit list.
Thanks FF in anticipation

looked high looked low,did not find as last post sugest could of been washed away.
If this cache is where i think it was , then it might be down stream. The bridge is covered in debris from where the water was higher then the bridge in the recent storm.
Hope it's still there but 2 of us couldn't see it?

Poked around where trolls live and found it - thankfully there were no trolls, just a few spiders. TFTC
Fun! Tricky one, took a while with a crappy map and no gps, but it was a good one. TFTC!
Thankfully managed to avoid all the huge golden orb web spiders. Assisted dad with a torch to zero in on the cache =) Interesting history on the site plaque nearby ;p TFTC!
A well-hidden troll cache. Found on this pleasant, sunny morning with sjamp and sjamp jnr. SL Thanx.
Another place we wouldn't have known about, but for Geocaching. Found with GeoSon and Baktrak. TFTC.
Took a while to find this one, looked all over and under and Estreich Dad was brave enough to stick his hand in there to come up with the cache

This was a beautiful walk into an area that we always just drive straight by, it was a good search & even geodaughters were willing to go hunting, just watch the cobwebs...TFTC
969 - 2 for today. Found on 7/02/11 6:09 PM
As with other cachers, didn't find after the first search. Did take some time to locate. Found it after searching in the same vicinity after a number of times. Thanks. TNSLLN

Got to gz having seen some caches like this before. Once there, though, it was a different story. I spent 20min going up and down, around wondering if, as some logs stated, the cache had floated down the stream. Well on the 3rd pass though, with the torch I spotted the cache and couldn't believe I had missed it twice before. Never mind, got it in the end. SL and returned. I had the place to myself the whole time, not a muggle or bike rider to be seen, nice and quiet and hot and muggy. TFTC again feral five

Seemed like we were looking for ages. Took us a second look in the same place to find it - so obvious now!
Did this cache after talking to "Socks" Thanks for the infro socks. The creek was running high and fast after 3 days of rain and with the sun out, there were lots of muggles about.

I'm trying to catch up on past logs today. I've let 140 caches pass without logging them. So I can't say anything specific about your cache. I'm only 10 years old, and while I love caching, I sometimes like doing other things rather than logging my finds when I get home. Sorry. Thanks for putting your cache out for me to enjoy.
Well, when we found it last time it was muggled, but now it's back up! Congratulations to the feral five!
Didn't find this last time because it had been muggled. It took us a bit of rooting around, getting a bit muddy, but we weren't leaving this time without it. This resolution was not helped by Garks, who wanted to pat every dog that was being walked here, thereby delaying muggles and us. Thanks
The first of two for the feral five (or part of the gang). Another one of those which we had to come back for as it had been muggled last time we were here. Glad to see it (unlike their other) is still there. TFTC
Reading the previous logs I thought this could take a while or be another DNF.
Walked in from a nearby street and GPS was only indicating GZ was somewhere round the crossing.
As luck would I have it arrived at the same time as a father with a very young daughter. Waited and waited for them to leave and then decided They were going to be there longer than me so started searching after explaining I was doing a treasure hunt.
The geo gods were shining on me. The first spot I tested came up trumps. By then the dad and daughter were on their way out.

By this time of the day it was raining quite consistently and I was getting a little soaked, but found the cache after searching almost everywhere else. TFTC
Although I had been here back in May 2010, that did not make the finding this time any the easier!!
I looked for a while without success and then regrouped on the seat waiting for inspiration. It must be there somewhere, just needed those caching eyes. After a little more looking, there it was, just waiting for me!!

Back in February we spent a fruitless hour here looking for a tricky hide. As it turned out it was gone at the time. This time we made the find within five minutes and it was very nice to lay a DNF to rest. Signed the 'log' and returned. I don't even know where it was as it was found and returned by the geokid - he searched the end that I didn't. While I signed I noticed a swarm of bees had covered the path on the way up the hill just past the bridge - we came in from the other way. I warned one walker who turned back and managed to warn a cyclist in time to stop him riding through the middle of them. As he said afterwards, he probably wasn't in danger as he could have ridden away but they would have been angry enough to attack us. He went off to get his apiarist friend so hopefully they'll be gone soon.
5/6 for the arvo.
Thanks!

Here's another one that I was pleased to find properly re-established, after some difficulties with muggling over recent months.
And it's a model of extreme simplicity -- only the barest of bare essentials!
When I first arrived at the Baulkham Hills park -- Sophia Doyle Reserve -- I thought the cache coordinates were off by at least 15-20 metres. But eventually the satellites settled down and I think the published coordinates aren't bad at all. I did some 'waypoint averaging' and will include my results.
Of course, the name of the geocache will point you firmly to the correct location. And a bit of seeking in likely trollish places will inevitably lead you to your goal . . .
Container and log sheet were fine. My name is now at the top of the page!
Thanks to the feral five for getting this one up and running again. It's a nice park and reserve with good quality concrete paths and well worth a geofamily outing.
I'll upload some photos later.

cache back where it belongs, but in a little bit more secure location. difficulty ratings adjusted to reflect these changes
Looked all over the place and then saw the other DNF logs. Ditto to what they said. Thanks
Looked every where for this one, All corners, even into the middle, underneath, on top, still with on luck. Bolts, boards, screws, steel. Nothing! Looking at the creek and all the heavy rain we have been having, maybe it's washed away.

Not so good - spent a lot of time on this. Went back to read log and will re-attempt another day soon. Micro caches and us just don't seem to work.[xx(]
Only DNF of the day, a rarity for us. Looked everywhere conceivable, read all the logs and apparently it's on a corner, in a key holder or perhaps a film canister, it's magnetic, it's a perfect fit, it can be reached from the bridge top but better to go under, all of which are a bit contradictory. Add that to the floods of the past few weeks where the debris at the top of the bridge shows it was seriously deep water at one stage. I'm not sure if it's still there. Will have to wait and see if others log DNFs as it hasn't been found since the start of January but no one has logged a DNF so can't confirm.[B)]
Thanks anyway.

Well...the GPSr had me on a different corner this time, this time being the correct one! Cache was found in seconds.
The geomum and I did not find this one today, we gave it a good go but we just couldn't spot it
Scratched about, but couldn't spot it.
Only had a quick look for this one, before a dog it's pet people came by.
No trolls to be seen either.

Two ways in - we chose the harder way as usual. Regardless, it was a quick stroll through the reserve to GZ. However, a bit more time was required locating the cache. Nice location. TN LN SL TFTC

Found 11:35 found it the first spot I looked. Co-ordinates were spot on! TNLN thanks.
Had a quick look but didn't want to spend too much time here - had more caches to look for on my first day caching. Did find a grumpy lizard though who growled when I took his photo. Will be back for a proper hunt.
didnt get much of a chance to look for this as I had a quick look at, near and under was just checking my notes when a jogger showed up , and keep looking back to see what I was up to ... then he returned again , looking over to see if I had left .. so MR jogger Im guessing your not a muggle!!
Geokids had fun looking for trolls, Found plenty of lizards but. TFTC

I can now verify that there are NO TROLLS here. The last section of the structure has been analysed and the cache found.
Amusingly a new local resident was "cleaning his shoes" in the river nearby.. within 10 metres of GZ, and, a group of mother muggles and their dogs marched by while the inspection was underway.
I guess people don't pay any attention to someone writing on paper.
The inspection was so thorough that the magnet from the cache was discovered first, separate from the cache. I left it in situ.
The log was damp but functional.

Looks fairly thoroughly under the object to no avail. A muggle turned up and sat down next to us so we had to exit stage left.
Next time.

I've scoured the complete structure. I'm obviously looking too hard. As Arnie would say "I'll be back"
a nice easy find in the dark thankfully there are not trolls at night either. tftc
After my failed attempt last month, I'm glad to say I found this one today. It really wasn't all that hard, but certainly very tricky. And to top it all off, there's a nice spot to sit down while I signed the cache.

Bring your own pen was good advice. Some passing muggles so some stealth is needed. My third of three for the day. Thanks for the hunt!
Headed back to the hotel at Parramatta after being at Baulkham Hills for dinner with my Sydney cousin. Tried to grab a couple of caches on the way Home but only got 2 from 3 and this one was a DNF.
Travelled the track in the darkness until I came to GZ. Checked the upper and lower levels and all over and under with no luck.
Day 320 of non-stop caching

After all the blue mountains caches I have done, that certainly was a one-star terrain. Although a bit small and more trickily hidden than the mountains' ones.

There maybe no trolls, but the was an impressive lizard guarding the cache this afternoon. A nice walk in through empty bush.

When the heat of the day had started to dissipate i went out for a stroll and in search of a couple of caches. I found this one without too much trouble, signed log and moved on down the path. TFTC
While visiting some friends who lived nearby, we were discussing our new hobby and decided to see what was in the area. They were eager to get out of the house, so we went for a walk/ride.
Unfortunately GZ is in the bottom of gully with lots of tree cover. iPhone was having trouble getting consistent reading. We werent really sure where to look which became frustrating so we moved on.
A hint would have been welcome.

Nice walk from the nearby street. Found the bridge, and then looked around for the cache a short while before finding it.
Did not see any trolls, just a muggle passing by.

found at 14:00, A pleasant walk once we found our way to the cache. It was very clean water in the creek also enjoyed the bottlebrush in flower along the creek. Thanks sspack for organised the hunt.
Followed the bike path down to GZ.
Was about to extract the cache when the whole family together with dogs cats and the kitchen sink decided to arrive.
waited for them to leave and then it was on to signing the log.

I think I found a funny way to gz but I got there, in this nice piece of bushland. Took me longer than it should to find the log but the signing was quick! Thanks again sspack.
WanderingAus wandered by on day 117 of a 6 month trip Wandering Australia and made an easy find. The log was still a little damp so I supplied a new log in a ziplock bag and put the old logs in a film cannister under the bridge.

3pm. Third time lucky! We'd focussed our attention on a couple of other spots previously. Once Mr S started looking in the right area it was a quick find. This cache has been bugging us for a while now, so it's good to finally cross it off the list.
A really good stroll through the bush here, very peaceful and quiet. The GPS gave good direction to the right corner.
I wonder if the Doyle mentioned has a family now into fish and chips in Watson's bay?

Second trip and I didn't think I'd find it. In fact I didn't, Alpini did. Signed log and prodded the remnants of the old one.
Last one for the day...
Actually felt not comfortable when Spindoc told me he could not find it last time.
Anyway found a likely spot, no actually four of them. The third one was it finally.

Searched for some time....hope it hasn't washed away...only found a couple of days ago??
The story about the Doyles is interesting - especially how a convicted forger go to paint pictures for Joseph Banks! The coorinates were spot-on leading Mr Ozjeeper to the correct corner of the bridge at first attempt. Didn't see any trolls as he didn't need to go under the bridge to grab the well-placed cache.
The logsheet is totally unusable. Added some new logsheets in a zip-lock bag. Can the next finder (or perhaps the cache owner) please bring a really small zip-lock bag that will fit into a magnetic keycase to place the new logsheets into.
