I was heading up North for New Year so I stopped for petrol, decided against the burger as I'd just had lunch and then signed the log on this cache for the souvenir Smile

25-Dec-15
All that was needed was a simple cache to keep the streak rolling and this fitted perfectly. The volume of traffic was so much busier than expected heading North our original destination for a find was diverted here. Once at GZ quickly located. Cache has dried out but you can see the log has been soaked- see previous logs. Functioning but could benefit from TLC. TFTC

sad to see this cache in very bad condition. it was water logged and we couldn't sign the log. needs an immediate maintenance.

12-Sep-15
Heading home from the airport and needed coffee. The area around the cache is sodden so we're guessing you've had plenty of rain while we were away. Couldn't sign as the container is also waterlogged. Will log a "maintenance needed". TFTC

11-Sep-15
Totally waterlogged, no pun intended.

05-Sep-15
A massive day ahead... Today's adventure requires 50 caches with at least a kilometre of separation. It's also a Dot Day for me... And we are interested in finding any caches that were published within a week of today... No problem! Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a planned route that will take us as far north as Waipu (Northland).

Ground zone was a soggy, wet mess... We searched most of the shrubbery, expecting this one to be placed higher and out of sight. It turned out to be much more accessible and at ground level. Sadly, the container had taken in some water, so the contents were quite damp. I'm surprised this area doesn't flood in heavy rain. TFTC.

05-Sep-15
Frost at home this morning and 2 degrees and today is going to be a biggie for us. Planned at attempt our challenge of 50 caches a kilometre or more apart, problem is we have almost cleaned out all caches within 100 Km's of home so arranged with Hemi (Squirrel Nutcase) to pick up at 6am and head north. For some reason I was up at 3.15am so this just added more time to my day. Caching was a little sparse until we got to about Silverdale. State Highway 1 was very busy and with caches on both sides of road, watchful eyes were very important.

10.30am - Bit of a search to find this one, found on ground in mud. Log sheet wet and needsd replacing. SLTFTC

05-Jul-15
Quick easy find on a coffee break. There was water insode. Tipped it out and replced cache. SLTFTC

Stopped off here on our way home today. An easy find then off to Burger King for lunch. A good stop, with easy motorway exit and re-entry and nice to be out of Auckland. Glad the weather is fine for our drive home. Hoping to pick up some caches along the way. TFTC Smile

02-Apr-15
Stopped for petrol and lunch on the way up to the bach for Easter. Left Auckland early to avoid the horrendous traffic I knew would be heading north for the long weekend. Thought I'd just check if there was a cache here and of course there was. Pleased to go straight to this one and then hit the road again. BTW I can recommend the Thai Chicken Pies from BP Smile

Out with the geohubby for a long drive to visit his dad. We stopped along the way to pick up some caches. The roads were very busy so we only managed to get 15 but all of them were found quite quickly. TFTC

Today we were travelling north from Auckland to Whangarei, and when we drove in at this place to buy a licence to use the highway, we saw, that there was a cache right here. It was easily found. The container were soaking wet, but fortunately there was a dry log to sign. We poured Water out of the container.

Thanks for the cache.

It was just coincidence that I stopped here with my car and had a look if some caches are nearby. It was a little bit wet and I have dirty shoes now, but I found the cache Smile. TFTC

This is my third trip back for this one, inspired by the recent finds I returned again.

Found it this time without any issues. The cache was wet inside so I drained it. The log is soaked so I added a new one inside of a fresh baggie. Smile

Find #1064. Thank you very much for the cache. 19/11/2014 17:10

Accurate GPS. found first place looked. Log book damp & water in cache

26-Sep-14
Heading north for the weekend and stopped for burgers on the way. Left Mrs & Mini McArgister in the car for a few minutes. Didn't have this loaded on the GPS but had looked at Google Maps before leaving with the hope of searching for this. Meant that I tried a few wrong places first and got quite muddy shoes but got there in the end. Log full to halfway with water and mushy dissolved swag. Emptied and cleared as much as possible but couldn't sign the log. Thanks for adding a smiley to my burger & fries!

On my way home after an afternoon of caching with my sister (casaba3) and petrol was low so stopped for petrol and, of course, had to look for the cache I knew to be here, just one more to squeeze into the day. Getting dark but still enough light to see by I set off on the hunt. Looked in the same spot a number of times before locating the cache. Unfortunately way too wet to sign so didn't attempt (had no luck with similarly wet log in the weekend). TFTC The WonderStuff.

28-Oct-13
What the &*(&) are we doing here - I think we took a wrong turn somewhere and once on the motorways its hard to get off. Hmmm time for a cuppa and a potty stop and rethink of where we should be. Checking gps - there's that traditional just round there we could get so RuruNZ and I did. RuruNZ found it but log has been wet and is still damp but writeable in it. Now where are we going? Oh yes - to find that puzzle cache back down the road!!!

28-Oct-13
Found with kiwicampnut on Day 7 of our Mega trip north.
We'd been here last week when heading for Route 66, but were rather focused and didn't check.
Today we made a wrong calcuation for a puzzle, ended uo on the motorway with no exit til after here, so called in again now knowing there was a smilie to be had.
Definitely WET. Though has dried out enough to sign.

Reminds me of motorway rest areas when I ws in the states (as a child) in 1979. It was usualy to have spots like this (Stuckey's was the chain of shops) but also some restaurants that were built across the motorway so both North and South (or East and West) traffic could stop at the same place.

Picked up a wet trackable geostuff card here.

On our way north and finding a few caches along the way. Stopped here after the long drive through Auckland on the motorway, no caches there so boring.....found the cache, it is wet through, the camo on the lid is all but gone and the log is only just signable. There is a lot of rubbish around GZ and if anyone does decide to clean it up the cache may go too. Didn't have any replacement supplies with me I am sorry but do appreciate the cache being there. On my way to an HCMC day/night bentsprint, I stopped off here to put some air in my tyres, so picked up this cache while I was here. Cache had some water in it. Emptied it out, and cleared some mud off the seal, so hopefully its waterproof again. Could do with a good dry out though. TFTC.

Today was the day to drive north from Auckland towards the Bay of Islands. I was not the only one who had this idea so the traffic was rather heavy. The pitstop was very welcome. I gave up to pay the toll on the machine there after 10 minutes waiting and went for a geocache hunt instead. This I was able to finish much quicker! The log was quite wet, but still suitable to write on.

Thanks for the cache!

Heading north to the work site, needed a short stop to use the "facilities" and found that there was a cache nearby. Well it was a particularly easy find, as it was floating in a small puddle created by all the rain we have had lately. So having signed the log, wedged it under a low branch and covered it over. Hopefully it wont float off again.

Got the Southbound version of this cache once ages ago, so naturally had to get this one at some point too!

I passed it many a time on the bus to snow planet, but of course, you cant make the bus pull over for a cache! And the few times I have been since I got my car I haven't had time for an extra caches.

But, this time I made the effort, and purposely left home 2 hours before night rates started, so I would have time to get a few extra caches along the way. And so although it ws pouring down with rain, I attempted to go for this one. Ground was gross and soggy, and yuck and all, but eventually I was in the right place, and then spotting the cache came not too long after. Some of the camo appears to be peeling off the outside, but it was still pretty dry on the inside.
So a nice quick find in the muddy weather!

TFTC!! Smile
