To archive or not to archive... Archive!

Recent council work has destroyed the GZ so down the memory lane we go.

Eventually got muggled out on this one, so we weren't able to find it. Cheers Gav

05-Apr-12
We spent a while searching, but without any success.

04-Mar-12
this one has gone missing. i have found it before and was showing a geomate how to solve it. he had done it we went in search but its not where its ment to be. please check and replace

02-Mar-12
We went back in the daytime and hoped against hope that we would "see" something. There has been work done right on GZ, perhaps it has disappeared with the other stuff that has been taken away.

01-Mar-12
After listening to the audio and giving it our best shot Master helped us with were we had gone wrong. Several weeks later we headed out for this one in the dead of night to hunt, maybe this is where we went wrong. But we found zip, nuder, nothing. As we leave Adelaide on Saturday it looks like we will need to place this one in our "solved" folder and have another go when we return to Adelaide somewhere in 2013. Thanks for the fun.

Solved this morning and made the find this afternoon, area fairly busy so it took some stealth to retrieve. TFTC Smile

Afternoon caching with Team Ermalesh while the Geowifes hit Marion [:X][:X]
Nice hide, thanks Master Darko FTC

Log book replaced.

22-May-11
Initially the code did not make much sense, but closer inspection revealed a little trick logic (despite the 1,5 stars).
I had the hint confused with a magnetic hint from a different cache so the kids and I looked around for ages in the wrong spot, but after we took shelter in the car after yet another shower and I revisited the hints, the cache was soon at hand.
The notebook however is completely full and needs replacement.

I have no remorse when I say that I used a valuable resource to listen to the audio code, I haven't got the ear for this type of thing.

I actually found the cache on 1 April but didn't have a scribble stick with me so travelled off to find another cache, but that's another story in itself.

Today I honed in on the cache quicker than you could say 'To remorse or not to remorse' and proudly signed the log - it's up to me how I play the game.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache Master Darko.

Find 72 of 178 for the day. Spent over an hour trying to "read" this code, but my ears weren't fast enough, and I was beaten to the solution by one of the team members. Started at Midnight this morning with the Nxy challenge, and continued till midnight tonight in a 24 hour caching hunt with McKee Clan on our bikes, and then joined at 3:30am by Emily~Angel, swapping our bikes for a 4WD, and finishing at Maclaren Vale with 178 finds for the day for McKee Clan and I, and about 120 for Emily~Angel. Had a ball, but was glad to hug the pillow in the end. See the McKee Clan log for more info. SLTFTC.

PS: I'm definately not caching tomorrow!! (I'm paving instead...)

Mr emily~angel found this on a caching run with McKee Clan and Dennis52. TFTC

28-Dec-10
Today we did a huge challange and achieved 178 caches in a 24 hour period starting at gawler on a bicycle at midnight and finishing at the mclaren vale in a car 24 hours later. Sweat, blood and laughter was part and parcel to find a cache every 8 minutes for 24 hours. We found this cache and thankyou for making our challange possible. We were assisted in our challange by emily~angel & dennisC52, Thanks guys you did a fantastic job. We had a ball and were very tired in the end, maybe I'll not cache tommorow hahaha.TFTCSL TNLN you should see our track from the GPS 320km driven in total for the day with 185 caches visited.

26-Dec-10
Found on Boxing Day after a family lunch in this part of town. Cracked the puzzle last night and then couldn't wait for lunch to be over so we could make our polite goodbyes to set off caching. Not too many muggles about today either. TFTC.

P.S. Log book is rather full.

22-Oct-10
Found this as part of the group down from Queensland for a cache raid this weekend.
With many hands on the scene we soon had this one in our grasps.
TFTC.

22-Oct-10
Found as part of the SE Queensland puzzle solvers group raid on Adelaide. A muggle nearby required us to make an inventive plausible reason for us all being there. Our team of ten were working like a well-oiled machine by this time!. Smile TFTC Master Darko

22-Oct-10
I would love to know what the muggle thought when we arrived en mass at GZ... Happily cleaning up around the boundary of the park, I suspect she thought we were up to no good and decided to move on... Surprised Lucky she did as we wanted to get up to no good and get our names in the log... [^]

Cheers Master Darko

#8 day 1 on SEQ puzzle solvers Adelaide trip.Deciphered the audio clue ok. Took a few go's of looking in the same spot before the cache was found. Nice area. Thanks Master Darko

22-Oct-10
We found ourselves in a small park, but with a muggle nearby, some of the Banana Benders pretended to do some exercises until the coast was clear. After a short search, we were able to leave our mark in the log. TFTC Master Darko

22-Oct-10

Found as part of SEQ Puzzle Solvers group raid on Adelaide...

Various poses struck by some team members to confuse the muggles while the rest o fthe team located the required article...

Log was soon marked & we where away again for the next cache....

Stealth isn't all that easy when you are amobile crowd Wink

Thanks Master Darko for the cache

One of the adeliade puzzles that made us look at puzzle solutions a little differently.

At GZ we had to resort to a time of prayer as a muggle was wandering around close to GZ, putting down water for dogs (we think).

FerretBoy manfully worked his way through much squeaking and squeaking this morning until he came up with the coordinates. Given that it turned out to be 400metres-ish from home, we couldn't leave this one too much longer, and soon had the goods.

Thanks Master Darko!

29-Dec-09
Solved this one ages ago and was finally in the area on a bike ride. Managed to get to this one without any prickles in my tyres for a quick sign of the log.

27-Dec-09
Found by Team GeoCoopers
Worked out the morse some time ago but this morning was a lovely time to go for a walk.
Thanks Darko

09-Dec-09
We popped out after tea in the quiet of the evening to grab the cache. Nice park but the burnt out car nearby suggests the area is a little dodgy at times. TFTC

25-Nov-09
After a little bit of electronic help including the web found GZ without any problems. Had difficulty in finding a free page in the log. Thanks Master Darko for the challenge. TFTC.

20-Sep-09
I found a couple of short cuts that enabled me to solve this one a little less painlessly than the way it was intended Smile. The noise from my office would have seen me evicted by Amy as well. I had to wait while a muggle parked his car and went inside but after that it was a straight forward find.

Thanks,

Find 695 My Way Without a GPS at 3.15pm
Solved the puzzle once I had learnt the skills they failed to teach me in The Royal Corps of Signals during National Service.
Found the cache in the second place I looked.
Six months ago I looked at the first place and was 2 Degrees North I had made a mistake with the decoding.
Thanks to Master Darko for the cache.

Skippy assisted to in solving this one. Finished a busy day at the Clipsal 500 and grabbed this one on the way home from the track. TFTC.

Day 280 of non-stop caching. Big Grin

27-Feb-09
I spent ages learning morse in my previous job. A bunch of us found out that it was easier to learn and retain the information if we were either drunk or hung over so we would hit the pub at lunch time for a few pints and then keep going after knocking off for the day until the wee small hours of the morning. Some of the instructors actually joined in as well!! It made for an expensive few weeks but it was fun at the time.
And the funniest thing is that after learning morse I never actually used it.

A quick stop on our way through the area, whilst taking A to a few unfound caches

With it being such a hot day, the area was clear. I wouldn't want to be buying any of the houses opposite the cache that are just being built, especially the front right one! Who would want a postage stamp that you would struggle to fit a normal size car in the drive way [?][?][?]

Thanks for the fun puzzle

Worked the mystery out in short order and came back today to find it. Nearly got eaten by a vicious attack terrier being walked by his muggle owner while signing the log! TFTC.

17-Nov-08
Also had some help with this one. Got there though, on our Mr Darko Cache Day.

Must admit I got a lot of tipoffs for this one too, and still only just got over the line!
An easy find thank goodness!

I had some help here. A current workmate of mine worked as a communicator for Civil Aviation up in the Pacific Islands about 30 years ago. With no telephones nor satellite communication available back then everything was done by morse. He loved the chance to use his skills once again though was a bit puzzled by what he heard. When he relayed the message to me, I quickly figured it out and told him he heard correctly. Nice twist there. Thanks for the cache.

21-Sep-08
I don't know much about such codes, but was lucky to be with someone who does!

21-Sep-08
Since entering the world of caching I have been exposed to many new skills and morse continues to feature more and more in our world.
Not such a hard audio code to decipher these days with internet tools available but a good cache to find today.
Thanks to master Darko

11-Sep-08
This one puzzle that I had to ask my friend to help me.
Found it nice and easy.
Thanks Master Darko for the cache. Smile

10-Sep-08
Searched for a while and nearly gave up. Then realised we had punched one digit incorrectly. Bingo. There it was. Thanks again Master Darko.

Quick drive from work at lunch time today. Finally got my first Master Darko cache, though not the first one I have worked on.
No one around today so easy find.

Thanks

Arrived at GZ and even before I began the search Mr Muggle wandered over towards me. I started to examine the heat stressed gum and he then asked me if I was a tree specialist. A lengthy conversation ensued with his wife? coming over and joining in. I attempted to escape and wandered over to Mrs Pink only to be followed. After another lengthy exchange including discussions about local property prices, medium density housing, the water restrictions and who knows what else, we excused ourselves and left, cacheless and wondering how we are going to get the cache without being spotted by these people, who live in sight of the GZ, again. Found the cache at 5.30pm. Nice park. SL. Thanks Master Darko for organising the cache and hunt.

Thanks for gave me a note instead of audio code.

Had fun solving the puzzle (long ago), then headed off this morning to find the cache. Thanks Master Darko.

25-Dec-07
A good excuse to head off for a while after xmas lunch for the final location which was quite near where we were. No muggles today. Thanks Master Darko

Nine-teen of forty-three cache finds for the day in the company of dak’s Emu Mob, the cache was found at 15:50. this is the second cache of this type that I have done so I all ready had the tool to enable it to be cracked. It took us two goes at the same spot to find this one. Thanks Master Darko for the cache.

#12 of 34 finds on my first day in Adelaide, in company with acts2youthgroup. We found this one at 1550. In a different life, I wanted to get my Ham Radio licence, but the Morse Code requirement always put me off. I had several goes at learning it, but could never get to the stage of sending and receiving at 10 words per minute. Now that I'm a geocacher, I've had to confront the code a couple of times. Now that I have a better handle on it, I have no interest in a Ham Radio licence, and I believe that Morse is no longer a requirement anyway! Oh well! At least this cache was an easy find. I made no exchange. Thanks to Master Darko for the cache. Cheers, dak.

16-Oct-07
I used to be able to pick up this code on the shortwave radio as a kid. In amongst all those 'blocking' frequencies from the commo countries.

28-Sep-07
Downloaded a tool to help, but in the end just slowed the speed down and did it manually. Thankfully not too long to be able to replay it several times to check my translation.
Interesting final spot. Looks like a very large dot with a dash through it.Cool
Had a work colleague with me - had introduced him to a country cache, and decided to show him the other end of the spectrum with a micro.
TNLN, TFTC Master Darko

Cheers

Found at 18:30. The mozzies attacked while I was signing the log.

10th find for the night. In and out before anyone was the wiser.

We connected the dots and found the cache.

Got to be an expert at translating morse after Astro’s “Marsâ€, so getting the numbers out was no problem. What didn’t make sense was the numbers that I got [?]
Ginned around with various co-ord ‘types’ for an embarrassingly long time before the answer slapped me in the face with a jolt!! Red Face You IDIOT, I thought.
For the effort taken to solve it, I thought the cache was an anti climax, and trudged off to the next one. Cheers

Must have done something wrong last month. The corrected co-ords were private property for me. Bugger.

22-Aug-07
Made a night time visit to this one. Although I should know how to listen, I am a bit rusty and used the software option.
Coordinates took me straight there. Thanks for the hunt, good fun!

I'm getting quite good at deciphering this stuff now, thanks to a little piece of software I found while on a martian mission Wink
Area was very quiet when I arrived so it was a quick stop, signed log & headed off to watch some trains nearby.
