OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE
This cache has been flagged as most likely needing some attention. It is time for the CO to take action.
I am temporarily disabling it so as to stop it showing up on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.
Can you please respond to this situation (or indicate your intention) within 30 days, so everyone knows exactly what is happening with this cache?
These are your options:
* Take positive action to maintain your cache (Repair/Replace/Correct co-ords etc_) and post an Owner Maintenance log and ENABLE your cache, and then monitor your logs to ensure the problem is resolved.
* If you don't plan on fixing it up then please Archive it so it is removed from searches and someone else can utilise the location. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your cache.
* If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log before the deadline. Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.Please don't send me an email but instead follow the instructions posted above so that all documention is logged with the cache.
If there is no restorative action or communication within 30 days , then when I circle back to this one it will be Archived.
Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible to be Unarchived.

Saw that the traceable went missing and had not yet been replaced so could find.
As reported by Davidwazza and others, the TB has gone missing. Hoping CO can rectify- it would be a shame to lose this old cache.
This TB seems to be missing over the past 12 months?
Visited the Peppercorns yesterday where this BatKey should have been, and confirmed it wasn't there.
Hoping the CO has a third spare key to allow this cache to continue? Thanks.

I'm not sure how long I've been watching out for the BatKey, but its been quite a few years (I must concur with the comments from the previous finder regarding Key TBs). Finally this morning I was able to retrieve it, and with coordinates and key in hand I thought I might as well continue on directly to the cache.
Cache was found suitably locked, well-concealed and in good order. I didn't actually notice any of the listed TBs though, although I didn't really look either. It was left locked and hidden as found.
Thanks The Batgirls for the cache - a good one to get off the watchlist and onto the found pile!

Over a year since I first saw this one. Frankly I had given up finding the TB.
Sadly as with many other key caches the TB has a tendency to be held by people and handed from one to the next without being placed in a cache as the instructions say.
To be fair I think it has been in caches twice in the last 8 months. Other TBs have faired worse. I am not immune as it appeared at an event and I grabbed it there.
But having found the cache I have placed it in another cache within the prescribed area. And not even a D or T 5
As it turns out the container was not locked when I found it after my walk. However it was locked shut when I left it
There were 4 TBs there. I grabbed one and left the rest. Added my name to the log.
*nana nana nana nana, Bat Cache!*

We finally got our hands on the bat key and today was the day we set off on our adventure to find it.
GZ was about 18m away from coords.
Did a TB drop whilst we were here.

Find #600.
Patiently waited for the key over numerous months. After pinching it on a rainy night near 3rd creek, have now used it to raid the batcache.
Nice walk through the park. Picked up 4 other caches on the way/way back to the car.
GZ was approx 15-20m away from coords, but a quick find after broadening the search area.
A fun caching experience. Fav point from me. Now to hide the key somewhere appropriate tomorrow.

Key in hand RtGW and I stepped into the night to get this cache off my list and to fill a hole in the calendar. After expanding our search the cache was soon in hand. The cache unlocked easily- more trouble was had with the chain than anything else. A couple of TBs dropped and we were out of there. TFTC
Pretty sure I logged this cache via the phone app, but no log on the page! Anyway, I found this one with Jambochicken and am still holding the TB, waiting to place in an appropriate location.
Found with Bek-theraccoon this afternoon. Grabbed the key off hevwalker at the Pi event (North) and with a baby chicken on the way, time was running out to get this one. Fortunately our schedules aligned and the weather cleared up in time for us to grab this one. TFTC
Having collected the Bat Key at this morning's Pi event...I had a couple of hours before this evening's Pi event so went out to grab The BatCache...
It was a pleasant walk to GZ but trying to locate the spot was more difficult...so many options & with instructions 20m out from GZ I was sent in the wrong direction...but using some caching experience I finally located the BatCache...
Unlocked, signed & placed back as found...
The BatKey has been moved on...
Thanks The Batgirls for the adventure

So headed back to GZA armed with another hint from a previous finder and made a quick find in a spot we thought we had checked last time. The cache is about 20m away from GZ. Great idea for a cache, really enjoyed finally making the find. TFTC we will drop off the bat key as soon as we can.
We went on a mission with this one first stage was to strategically obtain the bat key. Once we got the key we made a plan to head to GZ we spent around 45 mins looking for the cache but came away empty handed we will be back for another look after a PAF to see if we can complete our mission tfth
**this is a late log** I have recently made a major upgrade to my GSAK license and found this lovely feature that automatically tells me what caches I have marked found in GSAK but never logged on geocaching.com!! Yay, Clyde, you can have my money anytime! The caches I am logging in this batch were ones I did in 2016. I cache with an assortment of cachers and never alone. In 2016 I cached with Moneydork, Ride the GeoWalrus, Locus Cacher, Liz & Bruce and Team Zouk. My log should match up with one of theirs. I enjoy every cache find I have made and do not for one second take for granted the effort going into each one, its just I'm very bad at logging my finds and I'm trying to improve. To improve I have to reduce the quality of my log and just get it over with -- for now. If I can form a good habit again I will return to my once more meaningful logging. Thanks heaps for hiding caches around South Australia that I could find!
Obtained the key and found the cache.
Was a bit of a walk for the 5yr old.
Early on in the hike, you will have a choice.
If you do not make the right choice, you will have more of a hike, or have to go cross country through some rough terrain.
Cache GZ is about 15m and just off the path.

Having acquired the Batkey some time ago I was immediately inundated with requests.
Happy to oblige I held it until attending the nearby 50 candles event. [^]
Subsequently a group of cachers set out by torchlight in search of the Batcache. Not knowing the park we took the direct approach that included stepping stones across a creek and then a near vertical ascent up through a shrubs via a slippery slope. Cache found. We then followed the nearby path back down a gentle slope and across a bridge. If only we knew.
Thanks Batgirls for placing the cache.

Whilst at the 50 candles event it was decided to go and find a few caches.
So brisal5, Tomboy, Locus cache and SA Sewer Rats ventured into the dark.
I sighted this key and gained the information at the 50 candles event.
We crossed a wet path and scaled a rather slippery slope to get to the cache.
We managed this under the cover of darkness.
Plus we found the cache, signed the log and replaced it in it's hidey hole. TFTC

This cache has been on our "to do" list for some time but during previous visits to South Australia, we have not been able to intercept The BatKey. However the stars came into alignment during this visit and late yesterday afternoon we were able to retrieve The BatKey from its host cache.
Today we went to look for the cache. The walk was short but one section in particular was very steep. It didn't take long to get to GZ and we started to search obvious places around GZ. When we didn't have any success, we gradually widened our search area and eventually found the excellent cache 19m from where our GPS units thought that GZ should be located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks The Batgirls for a very enjoyable caching experience.
We will have The BatKey back in circulation in the next day or so,

A nice walk into GZ, even though it was very dark. Once at the coords, we spread out and started our search... looking high and low for a good 15 mins or more. After reading back through some previous logs, we decided to expand our search area. As noted by a previous finder... we too came across the cache 15m from the GZ coords :c/ Signed the log and grabbed a certain dark TB :cD Left another TB in its place. Great cache. Firstly I climbed"the far away tree" (2nd time) to get the Batkey during a work lunch break then after work off I go to find the cache. The cache is safe and secure but the chain needs replacing for the cache to need the actual key. Lock is fine. The cache was approximately 15 metres from where my GPS was putting me. Took TB. TFTC
Found with sir_spectre
This is my first of this type where you need to get trackable key first.
Hope to find some more like this soon

I dropped a sort after trackable in this cache, while taking rope nut and lady loene here. I will drop bat key off soon.
maybe if I log it with computer and not phone I get a smilely instead of a blue dot
went hunting the bat cache with rod81w and tomboy711. my gps had me at a tree, nope it at base, up the tree, nope but pissed the bees in there hive off and got chased out of the tree by 6 of them. the other 2 where walking around in circles only to find the cache out in the open and unchained to any thing. signed log and recammoed it. co might want to check cache creep hasn't happened.
After Rod81W acquired the Bat Key we headed to the Bat Cache... three of us...Sir Spectre was there as well. The GPS was bouncing all over the place and the cache was not where previous finders had said... it was sitting out in the open and very very exposed ... not chained to anything and likely to get muggled. after signing the log we looked for the closest safe place to pit it and chained it to an anchor point. I suspect that previous finders have done a bit of cache creeping. Thanks for the cache Batgirls
Set out to find this cache today after having the key for a while, headed out with Sir_spectre and tomboy711. Gps had the three of us going everywhere until we made the find and the cache out in the open and not even chained to anything???.
We did the signing duties and also have chained it up and added alot of cammo for a ammo.

I'd never even heard of this one! I don't really come down the hill too much then Kookacrew asked if I wanted to do it so figured I might as well while I can get the key!
Walked through here a few times now just getting one or two at a time so I have more reason to come back and this was the perfect reason! Was a bit busier than usual but managed to get it no problem.
Love the idea behind this too, TFTC

Quick Robin to the Bat mobile, Danadanadana Batman!
We had the bat key in hand and after eluding The Joker, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, Penguin and a few more( well we did come from a geocaching event), we made our way to GZ.
Nice big cache and still in place safely, but yep it is very close to works in the area.
Found the cache, signed the log and re locked so it does need the key to open.
Thanks The Batgirls for the cache and a chance to have a bit of fun in our log.
Cheers Kookacrew

I assembled my bat tracking team and took a lovely morning stroll through the area to GZ. After a bit of looking around, Efo2000 used his BatSonar and spotted the likely location. Unlocked with the Bat Key, signed the Bat Log and locked it all away again nicely. There's a new path being constructed right next to the cache location, so this may need to be checked in the coming months as it's no longer a long way from public eye like it used to be. TFTC and the fun of finding the key too.
After tracking down the key, we headed to the BatCache in the CaheMobile..

The night is always darkest before the dawn...
But today, made my way up to the Bat Cache in broad daylight, with Purrfick Di to assist in the find.
Do I look like a man with a plan...?
Did we find the cache anyway ? YES
Unlocked, signed, travelbugs exchanged... off we go to make Adelaide a safer place to cache!

We found the associated Travel Bug and thought this sounded like an interesting challenge. The area around GZ was magnificent as we wandered around not long before dusk. We enjoyed the local inhabitants, who kept a very close eye on what we were doing. Once at GZ it took a careful eye to find the cache.
Thanks The Batgirls for the cache and sharing this fantastic area with us.

Ismartis had come into possession of the Bat Key so asked if I would like to come out today to find the cache.
It was a perfect spring day for a nice walk in the bush. We set off from the closest access point and walked towards GZ coming across a couple of groups of muggles also enjoying the sunshine.
Arrived at GZ and there were a few possible hides that were investigated, then looking from a different angle I spotted the hide. [^] [^] Soon the BatCache was in our hands and the BatKey was used to open the cache. Photos were taken, log signed a couple of TB's left, then we closed and locked the BatCache and replaced it in its hide waiting for the next cacher to find.

Na, na, na - na- na-na, Na, na, na - na- na- na BAT CACHE!!!
Was lucky to have recently been given the Batkey by Gral4 which meant a visit to the Bat Cave was in order. I asked JJ52 to join me as I knew she hadn't found this one yet and we set off on a lovely spring day.
Na, na, na - na- na-na, Na, na, na - na- na- na BAT CACHE!!!
Arrived at GZ to find some bees nearby and quite a few hidey holes. But before long JJ52 made the find . We had fun opening the cache with the special key, SL, took photos and I left 2 TB's. Then we put everything back together again and headed off to Marion for a good coffee .

Quick pick up of batkey returns on way to work. Knew the cache would be somewhere near where I was working today so did the find after work. Lots of good swag in the cache but I didn't come prepared so just TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache, been watching it for a while now.
I've had the key to this hide for quite some time now, but external events and then the JLWE 2014 conspired against me getting to this one sooner. Finally today I made my way to the GZ in the drizzling rain and unlocked the cache! A great concept and a very well earned favourite point from me. TFTC Batgirls!
Lucky enough to get my hands on the key we eventually made it to claim this one, we grabbed some caches on the way to it and i reckon we could have come in from a different angle avoiding that steep climb and wrestling them damn olive plants lol, it was certainly worth the trip, took nothing as we didnt have anything to leave behind. TFTC
Out with 3LG for an evening of caching.
Luckily he had the key required.
An interesting walk and as we approached from wrong side there was some cursing and slipping around the creek edge.
Cache was soon in hand .
Took trackables to visit.

What a great hide, the moment we first heard of this cache we wanted to find it. After completing a brain stretching puzzle the key was ours
Finding this cache is a little tricky and much thought needs to be given to how to get to the cache.
Anyway thanks for the fantastic hide!

This is what I repeated to myself as I wandered towards the cache. It brought up an interesting mind experiment. If the Baykey is placed in the Batcache is it really in there? How would we ever find out? Is there a vial of cyanide and some radioactive substance in there as well? Is Catwoman in there too?
Took me forever to find - couldn't you have made it a bit bigger! A serious case of cache-blindness, but it was worth the search with a loot-fulled ammo-tin the prize.

Yay! 11.55am. Found the infamous Bat Cache with geoboys on Saturday morning before bike ride. Took Purplepixxie Easter Egg Geocoin to help it find bunnies. Left small Rubik's cube. Took coloured pencils. TFTC BatGirls.
Bat key placed in a nice ? cache. Enjoy the search for the key and the Batcache itself.
Well having retrieved the key from a cache close by, off I trekked with my nice shiny blue walking poles.
From where I was it was not T2 but slightly higher, but then I try to walk in mostly straight lines, but will use a path ... if I see it.
What a great cache, now this is the size I like to see in the bush, I can understand the need for small caches in urban areas, but large should be all but mandatory for bush environments.
It was a bit of fun doing this have a fav point.
Dropped off a Geocoin, and some swag, took the Keep calm and Carry on Caching badge. My log says I took nothing, but it was already back in its plastic bag when I saw this,
As for the key, not sure if I'll put it in a cache, or target a cache leave a note for a cacher to come pick it up from me personally. A local premium cache, has had trackables taken and not logged, as well as the cache being replaced by me recently because it was completely taken, logs and all. And I wont put this in a regular cache. Perhaps it is time to put out my 3rd cache to be found.
... bribes to being taking caching will also be considered. lol (kidding)

Having swooped on the Batkey, Owl was keen to find the Batcache as soon as possible so persuaded the 3Pir8ts to abandon their search for the cursed Yahtzee cache and to join her in the assault on the Batcave. Locuscache rang at just the right moment and joined them. They reached the search area, but the Batdefences (TM) caused the GPS to behave erratically and their caching skills deserted them. A PaF narrowed down the search area and Owl realised there was one spot they’d overlooked – which was of course the entrance. The littlest pirate did the honours and there were photos and celebratory lollies all round. The Batkey then escaped their grasp and flew off to a new location. Thanks for the adventure!

Somehow a plan to join Dr Owl on an assualt of a certain eastern suburbs multi morphed into a group expedition to the Batcache. After Locus Cache made her usual understated appearance, we ventured onwards pausing only briefly to mull on another multi en route. Arriving near GZ we were confronted with a multitude of options which were narrowed down only slightly on advice from one of LC's many geocontacts. Eventually Dr Owl used her superior vision to reveal the cache, much to Pirate Luke's relief! With the necessary bribes of sugar applied, we ventured onwards to other caches. TFTC Batgirls! Kapow! We had a blast!
Busy at home when I had a call with Dr Owl and next thing you know.......I am in Harry bolting down south to meet Dr Owl and 3PIR8S to do a keyed cache for which they had the key
We had a great walk in the park and all up Dr Owl and I (3PIR8S had to leave early after doing the first two caches due to the littlest PIR8 apparently not enjoying bushwalking) found 5 out of the 7 caches we attempted to locus cache at today.
Arriving at GZ we started looking and spent a good 15 minutes here before I PAF'd a previous finder.
After the call confirmed that it wasn't in the tree with the bee hive in it [^] we continued searching and eventually the 'found it' call emerged from the BatCave where the BatCache had been in hiding

The Bat Key lies in waiting for a finder. It must be getting sick of the sound of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik though. It is time Dr Owl.
Na na na na na na na na Na na na na na na na na Bat Key!
Na na na na na na na na Na na na na na na na na Bat Key!
Na na na na na na na na Na na na na na na na na Bat Key, Bat Key, BAT-CACHE!
After years of waiting I finally found the bat key close to home and was able to grab it. Then today was the day I had the time to make the trek to the batcache. A sturdy cache indeed and a pleasure to use the key to open it and discover the secrets of Wayne Manor.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache and the adventure Batgirls.
Now where to hide the key.....

BIFF! POWIE! SOCK! WHAPP! ZLOPP! BAP! No shark repellant was needing in getting to this cache, but getting at the rotten BatKey took a while! Followed the direct line to GZ (not smart in work pants and shoes) and spent longer than I should have looking for the actual cache. Was about to leave it for another day (and more suitable attire to go foraging in) when I spotted the telltale sign and the cache was soon in hand.
Moved along a Puffle TB that the Tiger had heartlessly left to linger...now where to rehide ye BatKey? Somewhere up high I think.
One other mystery remains...namely why Team RedWolf, who had the BatKey before I, chose not to pay this cache a visit? Very odd.
In anycase TFTC Batgirls. A good hunt.

After the BatKey was realeased from the clutches of the evil Gemmalee (I'm sure she's not but it makes for a much better story if she is) it crawls to safety in a nearby cache. Nearly forgotten over time, there it awaits a new owner. Hearing of its freedom, the Tiger begins his trek from the hills to the plains to seek out the BatKey. The power of the BatKey was already starting to take effect on this prospective owner and it wasn't long before the Tiger had the BatKey in hand. "My Precious...."
'The Precious' would be his for a little while. A new set of co-ords were entered for the BatCache and the Tiger was soon headed across the plains under the watchful eye of the Sun God who tried in vain to smite him down with seering heat and UV rays of death. It was soon after that the Tiger discovered the elusive BatCache, unfound for nearly 12 months. His journey was now complete.....except that he must now rehide the BatKey........to be continued.....
No TB rescue took place, I've left it for someone with grander plans to Free the Bugs. TFTC Batgirls.

I'm SO sorry everyone. I totally forgot I had the Batkey and haven't gotten the cache kit out in a while due to the heat. But I have now visited a cache and released the Batkey back into circulation.
Again I apologise a million times and hope that those who are looking can now go and find the Batcache!!

It might be high time to release another Bat Key.
This cache was last found in April 2012 and the last finder hasn't placed the Bat Key in another cache. The key holder last logged onto the GC.com site in September last year. I emailed them last week and haven't received a response.
I raise this for purely selfish reasons: there is a trackable sitting in the cache (hopefully) that has been there for nearly nine months. Great for the 'Challenge Cache: free the Bugs'!!!!

FINALLY!!!!
Second attempt to find this one since finding the Batkey randomly at Glenelg.
This time I took two different GPS devices and the trusty GeoDog (although she turned out the be pretty useless!).
After an hour and a half of wandering and re-entering coordinates it finally dawned on me where it was! Of course it was right where we had been looking the last time =) Got a bit scratched up in the retrieval process though!!
Thanks for a great experience and a great cache.
Left a mercury puzzle, caching badge and a trackable. Whoever goes to the effort to find this one deserves to log a trackable!
Thanks so much Batgirls, this is definitely a favourite.

We were SO excited to find the Batkey in a cache purely by accident. We set out prepared for quite a hike, and quite a hike it was, but unfortunately no recovery of the BatCache!! Not sure if our GPS was off or we input coordinates wrong, reading previous logs it sounded like we were in the right place but came up with nothing (apart from a very scratched up leg from all the prickle bushes!)!!
I'd really like to find this one, open to some email hints!!!!

Nice walk in with TWDG, Princess Consuela, Muff1 & Byercat - No Bats today but plenty of Bee's!!!
What an interesting cache and it gave us a chance to meet other cachers. We went with Muff1 and met The White Dogang at cache site with bat in hand and a short walk we logged the cache. Thanks Batgirls
WARNING - There is a bee hive in the tree quite close to GZ. On checking the placement of the "bat key" we contacted the white doggand and headed out for the cache with Mike, Matt and children, Byercat and ourselves, we had a pleasant walk to GZ. Such a lovely day for a walk. We have been give the responsibility to place the bat in another cache. TNLN TFTC
Batman had to travel a long way out of Gotham city to defeat the Riddler and get to the batkey. Had he known what would transpire he would not have embarked on his expedition...
Today in the company of not one Robin (the geoson) but two (a friend of his) we set course southwards in the bat mobile to try and retrieve a series of puzzle caches.
However our 'guest Robin' wasn't as nimble footed as he thought and when he started running down a steep path there was only one possible outcome. Crash bang and as it turned out not just grazing his knees and elbows and chest but also a fracture in his wrist
Needless to say we hung up our capes and decided to end our expedition for the day.
Shame about the Squeaky key being 'displaced' as well.... Would have loved to make the expedition at least a little worthwhile.

A quick visit today to drop off a TB that seems to be popular at the moment. I was a bit concerned about the scaly tail sticking out of the log next to the cache - I think it was probably a lizard rather than a snake, but I wasn't game to investigate further. Just be careful when sticking your hands anywhere around here folks!
And don't try to force the batcache open without the batkey, I'm sure that Squeaky won't let anyone try to cheat their way into his heart!

Well it was an interesting 23rd of September. Just finished celebrating my daughters 5th birthday when I realized that the key I was after was right under my nose. I know the cache well and fled to it to find my prize. Sorry if I jumped the Q guys if you was still waiting to work that cache puzzle out. Off to GZ for a smilie and then had an idea where to put the batkey. (Mawwhahahaha). Great cache. Love the concept. Have the same cache online as we speak. and I think cache's are chasing there tails for that key. Hehehe.
Thanks for the fun

If anyone lost a pair of glasses while attempting this cache please give me a message as we found a pair right next to the cache.
Found on an afternoon walk with Honeysucker, Scoobster, Mr. Froghoppin, CPWanderer and parislaura. We now know better than to follow honeysucker blindly into the bush. Thanks for the cache batgirls.
When I found out that Mr Honeysucker had orgainised an entourage out to search for the Batcache that had not been found in year, I figured beauty, I would also be able to log a GCA cache, but it had been done a few days before we got there which has got to be some kind of Murphys law.
We took a great walk with Honeysucker, Mr Scoobster, Mr Froghoppin, CP Wanderer, Lost Wonderers and Crystaldragon79, it was an awesome day with awesome company, thanks batgirl for the cache. So glad the batkey is back in circulation!

Amazing what happens when a critical TB is found and lines of communication, bribery and corruption are opened... great to see so many people after one cache... this certainly had Mr Honeysucker he man of the hour!
Easy find on a caching blitz out with some frogs, a honey sucker and CP wanderer!

Has the key gone missing again? Been waiting for it to appear on the log list, with the weather getting nice, I wouldn't mind trying my hand at this soon.
