4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.

I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

Went out for a looksie around my new town today. But there was no Cache to be found, have the feeling the Raafies may have removed it :/

This place looks destroyed. Stayed for about 30mins looking everywhere safe to do so, the smell was enough to drive me away. The Left over unplumbed toilets are still getting used by some unsavory characters and it was bad. Would recommend giving this one a miss to all. Needs attention. Sorry..

Had a good look around but no luck

Couldn't find, had looked high and low, in and out of the area, still no luck.....

No luck today. The white ants seem to be winning the battle, with everything falling.

Took us a while but eventually came up with the goods. TFTC.

A bit run down and fallen down but found none the less.

Heading towards Katherine, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
We were a bit concerned, thought the hole thing was going to fall on us.
Cache was found easily, though it blended in well.

Found it.....first one for me !!!

On a Trip to the top end for the V8 Race weekend 14 days of driving and racing
i was checking in the wrong side of the pipes when firesafe found it

After 5 days in Darwin for the V8's and a little sightseeing it was time to head south back to the cold. Of course we grabbed caches on the way. Spent today in the Katherine area before staying the night at the Mataranka Thermal Pool.

Quick find and sign for this one - didnt spot the python. TFTC.

My day started at sunrise and in the surprisingly cool chill of the morning I was on me pushbike headed for the airport
Of course I was going to pick up as many caches as I could along the way
Would I actually make it to the airport ?
There were so many caches !!

OK!! So I have been in a caching desert for the last couple of weeks traveling from Mareeba in Qld.
I was lucky if I found one cache a day [:o]
I went for three days on the road without a single cache to actually find [:o]
Now suddenly I was in cache overload territory

Fortunately I had tackled a few 'power trails' in Wodonga, Taree and Stanthorpe in the last few months and the skills you pick up on those cache-finding fiestas never really leave you [^]
So I quickly fell into the familiar routine

Next thing you know I am at the terminal
Very quiet out here on a Saturday lunchtime [:o]
So I headed for the club

What a fantastic place, I love the old Ken Maynard cartoons on the walls [^]
Sure it is a bit run down, but you can imagine the olde days if you sit on the verandah for a while and let the mind wander

OK!! Time to find a cache.
I headed in ....
.... hey look, someone has left a rubber snake on the cistern
It moved !! [:o]
OK!! So that isn't the cache, but a very cute little python that has made it's home here
Turning around I spied the cache sitting in another corner.
A quick application of the car keys had the lid off in no time

Was in the right area but not willing to go picking through the rubble, the building has seen better days.

Mr TiedyeSmileys has been on the other side of the airfield many times before but this was the first time on the civvy side. We prefer the Qantas club to this one.

Interesting hide. Wasn't long before I laid hands on it for a quick one in the early morning moonlight. TFTC. TNL1 64 Penny.

From the logs it appears that 'The Club' has been busy today, maybe they will be able to do some repairs LOL. SL TFTC

This was our 8th cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 12:28.
(So this is our 4600th total find.)

Found quickly by Ian, but couldn't get Penny's attention due to the roar of jet fighters taking off.

found with geo child unfortunatly no planes today like I was hoping. Plenty of security around here but none near GZ just a couple of green frogs in the nearby toilet what a great place to live. No ants today. TFTC TNL1

A bit of activity at the airport, but nowhere near the level of activity of the big black ants swarming all over the place, particulary guarding the cache. Rolled the tin in the grass for a while to get the buggers of. Thanks CHEDENT.

It was easy to find. That day was busy and it was a strange place to hide. I was worried about the muggles. I saw two men having lunch nearby. I was glad that it didn't take me long to find the cache.

I'm not going in there with those spiders - Mrs. Rascal. Turned out to be fairly straightforward. TFTC.

Find number 13 for the day, and find number 298 on the twentyfourth day of our month long trip to Warwick, Lightning Ridge, Boulia, Plenty Highway, Alice Springs, Ayres Rock, Darwin, and home. Found at 1255hrs Qld time.

Our last for Katherine, and as it turned out, the last for the day on our run down the Stuart Highway. It turns out there are only 2 more caches to find between here and Camooweal.

Anzac Day so no jets flying. We got here early and found the cache fairly quickly.
We took the top gear keyring and left the deepcreek national park map.

I was really hoping to catch an FA-18 landing while doing this cache as my last few days in the area I've seen many flying around, but alas no planes just the cache. After reading the clue I tried looking in the john only to be confronted with a nasty huntsman spider (think I'll hold on till I get home, thanks). Cache was found shortly after and I grabbed the GeoCoin to take back to Melbourne (as is its goal). TFTC

Out for a quick couple of caches, found this one easily and the meat ants made sure it was a quick grab and log. Those little suckers pack a bite. Left some goodies for the kids and dropped Geo-coin. TFTC.

Actually had a beer here 20+ years ago with some of those portrayed in the images.

The area was deserted when I arrived so the search was conducted without a hitch. Interesting spot with some unique artwork. TFTC CHEDENT. [715]

An interesting place. Walking around an airport with a GPS feels dodgy... like I am going to be accused of being a terrorist or something... but I’m just unnecessarily paranoid! TFTC!

WanderingAus wandered by on day 79 of a "climatic refugee" trip, finally heading South after almost 9 weeks in Darwin, and made a very easy GAFF 1 find.

My find No 1673, LCC, TNLNSL, dropped The Beast, Pizza and the Down Under Dream TB (ref = TB1RHV0) and my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing them back again.

Easy find even late at night with a torch. I had to return during daylight for a good look at the club. It appears to be an old RAAF booser. I'd love to learn more about "THE CLUB".

oh, and we saw two fighter jets land and one take off. The one that took off sat and tested his engines for a minute or so before take off and MY GOD the noise was incredible. Our son loved it.

Love the old club house in spite of cobwebs everywhere! Looked at the wrong area till we checked the clue on our new Garmin, ah quickly Ms Bushies2 found it. Thanks Chedent for organising the hide and hunt.
