Quick cache find here. There is so many places to look.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and seventh day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Nice little walk-through the bush. I nearly trod on it it blended in so well. Thank you. ??

14-Jul-24
Was not allowed access to the path unless booked onto the tour.I followed a dirt road to see how close it would get me. It was only the access road to the cave exit. Took path back to kiosk anyway. No luck finding the cache.

This took a minute but was easy once looking from the right angle. A fun addition to my day and I avoided injury. Yay! TNLN-TFTC! Now for a quick chat at the cabin & an all important 'comfort break' before hitting the road again..

Last full day in Katherine today, were bugging out sometime in tomorrow morning (heading for Mataranka) so it’s revisit time to the Cutta Cutta Caves and then some geocaching around town. Might squeeze another swim in at the hot springs in as well it time permits.
Got just a whisker of time after our tour before the next one arrived to grab this one, thank god there was a pencil in the container as I forgot my pen.
**Thanks for placing this cache CHEDENT**

What a great place to visit. We were surprised at the number of pathways around GZ and the incredible beauty of the landscape here.
We were also happy to have the opportunity to visit The Cutta Cutta NP.
Some lorikeets screeched off into the distance as we arrived at GZ.
We found the lovely old biscuit tin, and have added our name to the log.
Thanks CHEDENT

We visited the Cutta Cutta caves and done the tour today. We grabbed this one on the way out after the rest of the tour group had left, was a nice quick find considering it hasn’t been found for over 2 years TFTC

13-Jul-21
Looked around everywhere but can’t find

08-Jun-21
Looked for quite a while after our tour, but didn’t manage to find it before the next tour was due to start. You’re not able to come into this area unless you’re on a tour. Quite a lot of spinifex around, so a little difficult to see much. Perhaps we’re not great at finding, or maybe the cache has gone missing since it hasn’t been found since before the last wet season. The cave tour was amazing, so it’s still been a fun morning. TFTC

Just checked if we were lucky! Nope! Definstely closed for the season

We didn't do the caves tour today, just a quick walk around the track in the midday sun to grab this cache. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

Well it was third time lucky for this cache. We had tried in the past to enter the National Park but it had been closed for the wet season.

After enjoying a tour of the caves we headed off along the path to grab the cache. Cat found the cache quickly but then had to sign the log in record time before the next tour group walked past!

18-Jun-17
We decided to stay the night in Katherine, mainly to do the Cutta Cutta caves tour and then see how many other local caches we could locate whilst exploring the area.

As the area can now only be accessed with the tour guide who fortunately knows about this geocache as we read in a previous log on the way to do the tour we asked him about it and he said not a problem, after the tour. After having a fantastic time in the cave and a little pop test at the entrance the others left for the 600 metre walk back while Dave took us to gz and basically pointed to where the cache would be. Not even the need for a GPS on this one so we added our name to the log and headed back on the interesting walk back to the car.

Thanks CHEDENT for the cache.

This was found as part of our journey from Mildura to Darwin and return

Still travelling NT after the Red Centre Experience but now moving towards Birdsville in QLD for the Big Red Bash.

Staying a few days in Katherine to attempt 'lots' of the local caches we hope. Razz

Really pleased to be joined by Honeysucker so today we headed out exploring and caching together today. Great fun out with friends.

Interesting scenario here, with the park now being managed by 'Nitmuluk tours' they are not happy for anyone to just access this area without a guide, concerned about people falling down sinkholes. Anyway they heard us talking and after we agreed to wait 15mins or so Mr Felix and Mr Honeysucker were guided to the GZ. There is not normally a 12noon tour for us to join today so we decided to move on, instead of waiting for the tour today. Twisted

Seem funny, Tour guide showed me where the cache is hide spot. I told her I have been here and Logged on: 24/11/2008 then she showed around the caves. Enjoyed my day.

19-Apr-17
No find for us today. We had spoken to the tour guide about the earthcache and then also about this cache as the CO should have approval for the cache to be placed here. The guide wasn't happy about the cache being placed off the track and suggested that it should be moved to a place where it can be accessed without possible damage to the rocks and to cachers trying to find it. We respected her request and did not go off track to find it. Thanks anyway Smile

What a great area. Made it here with 10 minutes to spare for the last cave tour. Some great formations here and always nice to learn a bit about the geology. I was one of the first to leave the cave and while the group went the other way back to the car park i made a bee line for GZ. No muggles about, nice hide. Very humid up here already.

It was the last day of our holiday in Katherine...and we decided to finish with a visit to Cutta Cutta Caves. After we had finished our cave tour, we took another walk around the loop to find this largely ignored cache...over a year since it was last found. ONly a short hunt was required to find the cache...well hidden from passing muggles but easily enough found by someone looking for it.

Thanks CHEDENT for another good cache.

What a great spot.
After more than 4 weeks, we are now in Katherine and have our first internet connection for a few days.

I noticed the "Do not pass without a ticket" sign and so set about finding another way to get to GZ Razz
[blue]I dud nit went a Kiwi tilling me whit ta du, Ay !![/blue] Razz
So I found an alternate, Kiwi free way to GZ Smile

[red]So if you want to find this cache without any "harissmint" read on !! [/red]

At the southern end of the carpark loop is a service trail with a 'boom gate' across it.
I wandered along the grassy trail until I came to a cross roads.
Turned right and strolled along until I came to a giant metal starcase in the bush that led to GZ Smile

My timing was great and the area was muggle free.
Which was a good thing because of all the noise I made removing the tin's lid, dropping the
tin and dropping it once more for good measure as I stumbled while trying to rehide it Red Face

This was our 15th cache find in the caching run & we found it at 13:19
So this now makes our total find count 6891.

Another wonderful day in Katherine. The cache raid today was a random start point followed by a string of caches selected, in most cases, by the "next closest" method.
On our approach to the path some big Kiwi guy yelled out from a window in the building. He was quite obnoxious and insisted that we had to purchase a ticket. He wasn't very happy to be told in no uncertain terms that we weren't going to pay such an exorbitant price and certainly didn't need a ticket to just walk along the path.
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Around 2 metres).
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks CHEDENT for the hunt today.
