No find in over 15 months, including by two well credentialled finders. With no indication by the CO that it is still there or that any action has been or will be taken to replace it, maybe it's time to let this one go. It's a long way to go for a fruitless search despite how nice the area is.
This cache appears to be in need of owner intervention, therefore I am temporarily disabling it so as to stop it showing up on on search lists and to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

After finding the nearby 'Little Desert' cache, I continued my drive along the 'Salt Lake Track'
It looked like a nice track until I passed the 'Trig Point Lookout' carpark.
Suddenly I was on soft sand !!
The track got firmer again and so I continued onwards until more soft sand was encountered [:o]
Hmmm !!
Time to let some air out of the tyres methinks
Begone Highway pressures .... 25psi will probably improve things and let me relax a bit
Sure 'nuff, my fear of bogging down disappeared and I could relax again !!
Onwards !!
And after half an hour or so of being lost in the beautiful scenery, I spied the Mill
Wow!! what a great spot !!
I set about finding the cache ...
... 40 minutes later and I had to admit defeat here and claim the DNF
Either the cache has been taken, or it has been buried by the shifting sands !!
I gave it a damn good look for though !!
But a DNF in a spot like this is as good as a find
I still left with a 'smilie' on me dial !!
Thanks for the detour and pleasant 'Sunday drive'
PS: Forget bringing an AWD out here !! A proper 4WD will be needed !!

Standing under the burnt out windmill and have found the cache. Removed several inappropriate items including lollies, cigarettes and lighter, and added other child appropriate items. TFTC
Pajero 4WD Club of Vic travelling the Eastern end of Little Desert for Melb Cup (long) weekend, staying at Kiata. Included some geocaching in our travels. Easy find. Left Groudon Pokeman toy and took trackable TB32RQN (I SPY TB). We will take this bug for a 4WD ride.

Was on a road trip with Honeysucker to Bendigo, taking in the Little Desert and some night caching around Marong. Grabbed 34 finds for the day. Tomorrow should be a buit bigger.
This was a fun drive into this one. TFTC.

From Pimpinio we took the long 4WD route thru the Little Desert and had a ball. Geowife had first 4WD driving lesson and Stopped off at Salt lake for lunch. After finding GZ we took photos with TB "Elwyn" and matchbox 4WD, which we left after taking army lapel. A great days drive, so far...
Found this 3 years ago but must of forgotten to log it, when we arrived we got that "we've been here before" feeling haha. Added a new log in the book, TNLN, TFTC!
This cache was quickly found and was a great stop with great timing,we had seen roos, goanna's, birds of every sort and all up close and personal, as for the goanna, he (I think it was a he) was in no hurry to cross the sandy track, as slow as he was, we were even slower getting the camera out and so missed an opportunity pic. The country was changing all of the time and at no time did boredom set in, mind you, we were being thrown about even at the slow pace we were driving, so that might have had something to do with it lol. Thank you The Rizzos....TN....Left a smile.
We came to this one by a convoluted desert drive. Some flowers around which made it pleasant. Thanks The Rizzos
GeoDad laid eyes on it before he even got out of the car. Was in full sight and not under a bush. We replaced it in the same position as where we found it but covered it up properly. We sat here a couple of years ago and had lunch in the shade when we were muggles and yet to discover the Geocaching secret society. TFTCSL
There were signs of potential muggle activity - broken bottles, camp fire and toilet paper. Perhaps the cache had been found? Please let us know of the location of the cache so that we know if we were looking in the right area or not. (Might save you a trip in to check?)
Isolated alright! After a long and harrowing drive in (it was getting late in the day already when we decided to push in) we could not find the cache. Aarrgghhh!!!!!!! Please let us know of the location of the cache so that we know if we were looking in the right area or not. (Might save you a trip in to check?)
Thanks for bringing us all the way here - now to only get out again

Found by Mary & David at 1535. Took us quite a while to get to GZ. We were close to the start of Salt Lake Track at our previous cache, so set off in that direction. We'd travelled that track to Derringer's 'Triple S' cache in October 05, but the sand seemed much deeper this time, and the (standard) GeoPrado was frequently hitting the crest between the tracks. We pressed on to within about 3km of the site of the Derriger cache, but caution led us to retrace our steps at that point. We then made our way around to the start of the Dahlenburgs Mill Track on the Nhill-Harrow Road, and had an uneventful trip in to the cache from there. We noted that we were the first visitors for 2011. What a lonely, desolate place. You can only begin to imagine the battle those pioneers must have had. We're sure they didn't appreciate the beauty of the wildflowers then. For future visitors, we'd recommend the Dahlenburgs Mill Track approach as noticeably easier and shorter. Under today's conditions, we wouldn't want to attempt Salt Lake Track in an AWD. Our thanks to The Rizzos.
Out for a nice drive following honeysucker.
Anice day for it, ground not too soft with the slight rain.
Did the swap thing and SL

Having come up a ½ a day early to going riding in the central block I spent my time wisely collecting a couple of caches in the eastern block.
This was my first and was surprising well camouflaged.
My thanks to Rizzo

A very late log I'm afraid, having just completed a thorough reconciliation of finds whilst out on adventures with Cached and/or Robtas - slacky Wacky missed just a few (cough cough)
Many thanks The Rizzos from the Wacky one

On the way to Dimboola to cross Little Desert to Frances with a group of 28 bikes and 4wds . past here last year just before I started caching . container is in gc . tftc
We got to this one the hard way - from the south east. The desert tracks were very sandy and definitely 4WD only.
The grass trees on the way were magnificent. Worth the adventure.
Took Travel Bug TB499477, left Silver Australia letter opener.

1st find of the day and 2048th total find at 10:05.
We found this cache in the company of CityWest 4WD Club Little Desert Recce group. We were checking out some of the tracks in the area in preparation for a club trip in September.
Found the cache easily enough. It's charred from the fires but still serviceable. We will put a few more swaps in if we get the opportunity on the next trip.
Whilst there, we wondered about the folly of installing a plastic water tank, if the fire is intense enough surely it will melt!
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver
Thanks The Rizzos for the cache.

Found with other Wombat Warriors on the Melbourne Cup weekend. The fire which was started by lightning near here on Thursday evening ultimately covered a fair distance. The cache is fine as the fire didn't cross the track here (see photo). TNLNSL. Had been here before with the Pajero 4WD club in pre geocaching days but nice to come back to this spot. Thanks Rizzo's
Had abit of a drive just to check on the burnt out and missing cache.
We were relieved to find the cache with the new goodies in tack in a gr8 hide.
TNLNSL
cleaned out ammo box of it old burnt plastic.
Thanx for bringing us here Rizzos

Whilst in the Little Desert on our CityOffpeak 4wd club trip, we stopped to check for this cache, but after scratching around all the possibles, we came to the conclusion that the very BIG H20 tank that has recently been placed there may have disturbed the location.
With the limited time available, we gave up the search and continued southwest in high range @ 20 psi.
Thank you anyway for the opportunity of bringing us out to this remote location, and we MAY return in the future if the cache remains.

I met a nice Parks Victoria Ranger and asked him about the water tank at this location, and was informed it has recently been placed there.
I suspect the cache has gone AWOL as at least a dozen sets of eyes were helping us locate an ammo box to no avail.
With the clue as well, we think this cache has gone.
Hope it is up and active again soon for the next cache seeker, even if it is NOT us.

Found at 6.35pm GAFF1. We were motoring along quite well in 4wd high, but from time to time a patch of deep soft sand would just about stop us in our tracks. So into 4wd low and it was a lot easier. Could now enjoy the scenery rather than watching every metre of the track. Came across a huge emu on the track and he/she was doing about 30 kph running in front of us. Took ages for it to find a spot where it could jump into the bush. Got to GZ and we nearly got bogged with the deep sand there, but the 4.2 ltr diesel Patrol, just powered its way through - cleaned the tyres as well! The charred cache was found quickly and after exploring the area with the nephews, we headed off to our camp for the night. Thanks The Rizzos.

After finding the remains of Triple S we feared for the worst but there it was standing upright against a skeleton bush.
we had to find another spot of it would have got muggled.
We had no trouble wot so ever getting here, the Ptrol even climbed the 2 foot rut coming into the cache location .
I was running 45psi cold which might have had up to 50 psi hot driving in here, I can see if you drove a AWD or a Toyota you could have a few problems [:o)]
Thanks Rizzo's for bringing me here

Unfortunately the recent fires got to this location also
However one of the benefits of ammo boxes is that even after a fire there is still something to find
We emptied ashes & used the remains of the container to ressurect the cache (and claim the FTF naturally!)
Left new logbook and a few new swaps
Repositioned cache to S36 30.886 E141 45.404 as there was no cover remaining at its original location.
Cheers Rizzos, it was a fun adventure getting here [^]

Tried to get this cache, and the others in LDNP today. Successfully visited Possum Eucalytpus and Litte Desert.
A big warning to all attempting to use Salt Creek Track: about 4km south from the turn-off from Kiata campground track there is a deeply rutted sandy section of track. This section is eating cars at a rapid rate. I was in an AWD Subaru Forester and got bogged because the undertray bottomed out. The towie that pulled me out (cost $222) said that even 4wd's like Toyota Landcruisers were getting into strife on this section of track.
Apart from that thanks Rizzos for getting me off the main road and into an area that I've never visited before.
