Hi there Maux Faux.
We found your cache **"Stig of the Dump"** at 10:44:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15865).
We cached around the Whyalla area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 5 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** We found a container and weather worn log book in separate locations. We re-united them at GZ..
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothinge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I replaced the cracked cache container today and confirm there is lots of room in the log and it's ready for your visit.
I was, very generously, offered a trip to Whyalla with Moneydork that was too good to refuse!
Today was a working day so while Moneydork worked, I cached Whyalla and the FTF PT
Then after he'd finished work in Whyalla, it was off to Port Augusta for more work, then we finally headed home ...still caching of course! [^]
Sadly, today was a day of 7 DNFs although 58 finds were made and the last cache of the day for me was a FTF at Redhill
A short walk and a cache find in an interesting spot

Another great find while in the area on holiday today.
Thanks for setting up this cache.
Soon had the container found and log signed.

Found it guys it needs repair after all these years, log is wet so left post it note. Would have fixed it but I haven't got any containers or logs on me. TFTC... Will repair in the next few weeks if possible
A quick find while checking out the quarry on a morning ride with Dad. The log book was very wet and really needs a new one. TFTC.
I took a quick bike ride along the trails to find this cache in its eclectic setting
Even before I could be distracted by the obvious piles of household waste, me eyes noticed the wonderful geological stratigraphy, so well exposed in the 'cliff faces'
Nice cross-bedding [^]
Then it was time to get down to finding me a cache
And a big congratulations to the people of Whyalla !!
In all my travels around the country, I've never been to a towne or citadel that takes its illegal dumping so seriously
There is absolutely nowhere within 20 kms that you are more than 50 metres from a pile of trash or landscape scarred by dirt-bikes or 4WD's

Out with Tempo collecting a few of the many I still haven't done in Whyalla, found some time ago but forgot to log it.
A cool day after plenty of recent rain and so the cache was VERY WET.
No means to dry or replace today.
But thanks for the hunt.

Haven't been here for years. Used to be just tyers people dumped out here. Now anything go's TFTC
Wished we had a fly net hat!! Cache in good condition, it is a pity that the same can't be said for the local environment.
The last find for our day with OCP, we took her son with us and he found it straight away for us. TNLN
Got my hand on a work vehicle for the night and made the most of cachetime.
Nobody around tonight and the cache was quickly found.

Found it on my ride home from work (another slight detour), managed to get the geomtb to almost right on top of it. TFTC.
Cache was easily found, but trying to get close in a lowered car proved difficult. TFTC
Possibly not the best place to drive our new car... Drove in half way then walked the rest. TFTC
After a week 4WDing the Lincoln National Park and surrounds it was time to head home. Today was the trip from Whyalla back to Adelaide which took 11 hours but we did make 37 finds.
Was looking for a different track but found one to here. TFTC.

Followed the dirt road from carpark, nice little trek, found cache, discovered wind eroded walls. TFTHSL
This find was our first using the new GPS. Found the Megellan eXplorist GC very easy to use. Akela0
Took us a while before Mr Bushies2 found it....sorry we didn't read the logs earlier and we don't have any spare pen to put in the cache. Thanks maux faux for the cache.
This one was flooded out and ruined recently but now has a new log etc, the pen was ruined so there is none for now. Will next visitor please leave one.
Quick Find. (log book is very wet and slimey)
Left a note saying we found it.

Well hidden, cache in good condition. Gee but it's got messy here. I used to catch tadpoles here as a kid. It was clean enough to swim in back then.(not that I did)
This was our 3954th overall find.
Found at 3:49 PM. I think it took us longer to find the right track in here than find the cache. Whilst here we topped up on diesel and were on our way again.
Thanks maux faux for the cache.

My 1st ever cache. Found with woodsy5. I am officially now a caching addict! TFTC TNLN
Interesting spot, and it is a shame some people throw away their stuff in a place like that. I didn't see Stig, but he was probably hiding.
Rocky Glen Grommets (all 4) did this cache in the early evening - a good location - isn't it a shame that such natural beauty spots become dump holes? We left behind a woolyy sheep and took a tennis lanyard.
Last cache in Whyalla before heading back to my hotel in Pt Augusta.
Found a track up there and soon had the scah in hand.
Then back to the hotel for a beer and a swim.

Our Trip to Whyalla in the 4wd pretty wild country around here!
Not sure of the implication with the long handled shovel???
Thanks

Had no trouble finding the track into the quarry in the Patrol. Co-ords spot on so an easy find. TNLN
abused the golf and made the claim - simple yet very effective hide. Worried I may find a body (or someone mine?) - not helped when I sighted a shovel. Abandoned the remainder of this series until better equipped with a vehicle or having more foot energy! TNLNSL TFTC
I ended up going down some ‘interesting’ roads in the Commode while trying to find a way into this one. Eventually got there and found the cache immediately even though it was very well hidden. I love accurate co-ords [^]. No swaps. Cheers maux faux .
whyalla and surrounds has some of the most awesome mtb trails, single tracks, hills etc. - if you are into (semi)challenging cyclo-caching, get on it!
TNLN - very 'scenic'!

This was the last cache for the day. Found in the dark with no torch. Just happened, by coincidence, to be one in the cache. Couldn't see too much (thankfully), but smelt a lot. Flies didn't seem to be too much of a problem, but the mozzies could of carried you away if you didn't duck.
T - (surprisingly) torch
L - butterfly eraser

Did a lap of the quarry by vehicle first and then walked in to find this .
Interesting sandstone structuring but pity about the dumping.

Well we were in the right spot but no need for the fly hat's it would of helped if we could have ant feet protection. TFTC
Interesting Geology. Sandstone I think. Correct me if I’m wrong. Damn hot to study it in too much detail. Interesting hole. Interesting recycles. Think I spotted 25c worth. Removed 15c (ice coffee cartons). The other 10c was out of easy reach.
Clear skies from TeamAstro. Thanx Maux [^]
Nice little cache spot and walk out there, took a friend so i didnt get lonley haha.. we scaled the wall for sum fun.

In town doing the last of the Christmas shopping, and then spend the afternoon caching!! TFTC
Another great spot just down the road, pity about the rubbish.
Very interesting geology, well worth it to have a look.
Grabbed a photo of Bunya's geocoin but left it for a traveller.
Took the FTF prize left by Bunya, certainly a very neat gift.
Took small lizard
Left octopus strap and torch
BTW Added "Bunya" to his log entry.
Thanks MauxFaux for another interesting cache.

Too hot already at 0900!
Interesting geology – might come back for a longer look on a cooler day.
I liked the Stig story, but I couldn’t find the cave.
As I got a similar FTF prize at Moon Light on Trubble, I left it for 2TF – I’d like someone else to get one too (and see how neat it is).
Took praying mantis, left gecko and bottle opener – plenty of ex-bottles in evidence!
Took Sniffer Skunk geocoin, left Redback geocoin – probably a few other spiders around here for company though fortunately I didn’t meet any.
Thanks maux faux.
BTW I suspect I had a senior’s moment and forgot to put “Bunya†on my log entry – I did write in the log book though – I hope . . .
