I am achieving this cache due to the high water in the Murray River

FTF the new cache hide!

Neat cache, safe from the waters - for now!

Running around the riverland today prior to the NYE event. Did a heap, and this was in the crowd.

Thanks

1412 All the gum trees down here are rather lovely and such a pretty spot. It's amazing how many blue wrens land on my rear view mirror to admire themselves (they must think they're beautiful too). Easy find but much yoga to get it out. TFTC Team RAMman

Found by Mary & David at 1205. A magnificent specimen. A cockatoo screeched above us as the river flowed majestically along. A great place. Our thanks to Team RAMman.

Fantastic old gum tree. A really nice part of the world down here. The roads weren't too bad on the way in, it hadn't rained much.
Thanks, Robmc.

Spent some time on the Murray recently, east of Echuca and I'd say in general that the gums there are much larger than this area. Nevertheless there are plenty of magnificent old specimans around here too obviously.
Thanks for bringing us here Team RAMman

These old gums are a wonderful feature along the river and very accommodating as this one held not only a cache but a large rubbish receptacle.
We were careful to rehide away from future prying eyes.

Easy! Good for the kids.

This is a great camping area. We will be back.

Rocky Glen Grommets were given a hint by crane2 NOT to look in the most obvious spot and luckily we didn't. A nice, neat, low hide - well done.

It was Australia day.

[blue] What better sight to greet you at your 2400th find than a lot of ozzies sitting in the Murray, on their deckies, with Ozzie flags flying proud .....[/blue] All were in the cool cool water, sipping stubbies, at 10am.

The cache was also in a classic spot. Beauty for the find.

I placed the GPSr down, outside the dunny, and checked out the spot.

After a few happy snaps, off I went.

As I went past First Tree by crane2 (GC18WXM), I looked to see the coords and to my shock, I'd left the unit back on the tree. SurprisedSurprisedSurprised A lighting fast Uee and I flew back to this GZ.

All was calm, the lads were still having a paddle, the flags were still up, and my GPSr was sitting there, pulling in the signals (probably just to hit Zzzz mode).

Great cache for the Astro 2400 and Ozzie day. Our thanx to Team RAMman from TeamAstro. [^][^]

There were lots of muggles camped nearby but fortunately they must have all been having siestas when I visited as I didn't see anyone [^]
The other tin is still nearby though unfortunately

Cheers

Easy find, but the drum of human waste less than 1m away was a bit off putting. Suggest a location move for this cache. If you need help Rob, please let me know.

30-Nov-08
OK so I now know that I was so close after reading other logs. I didnt find it as I thought there is no way I am going in that tree with the way it is being used. I cant believe how close I was. so another DNF for me.

22-Nov-08
Campers nearby enjoying their own Schoolies week.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys

What a beautiful old tree. A good hide with Mrs K coming up with the goods after scrabbling around a bit. Left a klem bear and a koala because they like gum trees and took a knife. Thanks Team RAMman

Had a little rain the night before, but I was driving a 4WD so thought no problems. Got into a very sticky patch and had to get out and turn the locks on. Yuk! Finally backed out, but not before getting very muddy. Decided to get into 4WD in future before going into mud. An interesting old gum tree. TFTC

That is a big old gum! Pity about the rubbish in there, not to mention the apparent recent use although thankfully it is dissipating rapidly. The cache was found in its good hiding spot after a few minutes of searching in and around - a good hide! Thanks Team RAMman.

17-Jul-08
dodged the puddles and survived the mud 2 find this one 2day... must make an effort to read the clues in future the gps was quite a bit out on all caches 2 day which made looking a bigger task..... not that it was a chore Smile tnln.... cheers 4 da cache RAMman

Had a lot of fun getting to this one (I didn't dodge the puddles) - pity we didn't run into the other cachers who visited today - TFTC Big Grin

Hmm. Not fond of the cache placement because of it's recent use. Nice area near the river though. TNLNSL. Cheers and thanks.

We found this one on our second visit. Very slippery after recent rain but a beautiful spot. Glad we didn't venture in here with the caravan though. I think if we had we might still be there. Thanks for the cache.

A trickie hide Rob. I fess up I had to e-mail a friend and then couldn't believe just how I missed it without the help! TFTC.

Trust me to visit the morning after a big rain. Talk about slip sliding away. I think the back of the car tried to overtake the front. It sure felt like I was driving sideways up the track. Seems like playing in the bog was just practice for one of another kind. Didnt think it could be there at first but spotted it in the end.

20-Apr-08
Attempted to moor the houseboat here for the night but also it was too shallow. Pulled the boat in 100m up stream and canoed back. TFTC

20-Apr-08
River was too shallow to moor the houseboat here, so we paddled back from further upstream. TFTC

Clever comment Postiegirl - a BOG in both senses of the word! I haven't been in this reserve for a few years. I can recall one Easter when it rained and visitors had to be towed out by tractors! Took American Quarter and left Finger puppet. Find #124.
