Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra for ANZAC day. With a late start trying to catch up on some lost sleep from yesterdays early start for the Dawn service. Headed out locally to convert a few smilies.TFTC Sol de Lune
Over here for Capital GeoBash Mega which has now concluded. One of many cache finds all over the city, particularly the oldest ones for my Jasmar grid. TFTC
Before leaving the mega, I went for a walk collecting the challenge caches, all for which I qualify. This one was just a bit further up the road, so I grabbed it while I was there. Thanks to Sol de Lune for the cache.
Infoferret and I spotted this one quickly. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 4 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega from the U.S. and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It was Easter morning and my original plan was to attend a service with other geocachers. Unfortunately, the minister was unable to attend which we didn't find out until late the night before. Another new friend I made in New Zealand, Infoferret, had come to the service only to find out what I already knew. We decided to pick up some of the caches around the mega area together. We walked to some and drove to others and managed to find everything we sought. That's always a good thing. AND I got to spend time with Infoferret that I might otherwise not have. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
31 March 2024 08:29 TFTC Sol de Lune for placing this cache, number 14004 for me.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
*The generic bit*Travelled up form Northern Victoria to attend the GeoBash Mega in Canberra. We started geocaching just before the Easter Mega event in Rutherglen last year and will celebrate our 1000th find at this Mega. Thanks to the organisers, sponsors, volunteers and all the COs who make these events a great success.
Found on Easter Sunday morning while in Canberra attending the Geobash. Clever spot. Wasnt my first assumption of where the hide would be.TFTC
I am enjoying all the happenings at the Capital GeoBash Mega and this cache was the closest unfound. It was a nice easy find with perfect coords. Thanks Sol de lune for placing the cache.
After a good search of the hint item, I was just walking away having given up when I thought 'It can't be here can it' - and it was.
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA6
Quick drive by indeed. OCW MaxAdventurer and Martin Cousins. ?? TFTC Sol de lune
Well it is finally the official day of the Canberra Geobash Mega. After a couple of big days of travelling to Canberra and then the surrounds a more laid back approach will happen today,So after a great lead up event yesterday on the 4WD tour today will be spent collecting caches a lot closer to the event site.It is also great to catch up with friends from far and wide as that you only seem to catch up with them at these type of events. It was time to jump in to the Geocruiser to find some of the more local caches that arent within walking distance of the Mega site. After returning to the Mega site for the wedding of the year I teamed up with Kristysadventures after the wedding to hunt down a few more caches.Picked this one up on the way back after Kristy found a couple of Galahs. Thanks Sol de lune TFTC.
Found with posums on a sunny Easter Saturday as part of the Canberra mega.this was a quick drive by before going back to the mega site
Came down to Canberra for the Easter weekend and Mega event. I managed to book a room in a hotel not too far from the Mega so we could walk if we wanted to. After a slow start, I finally got my son to turn off the TV in our room. He was super keen for a walk, so we headed out on foot. We stopped at the fuel station and purchased some rewards for each time we successfully found and logged a cache and continued down the bike track. We had not gotten far when he asked if we could find a cache so he could start consuming the rewards... I had already planned on finding this one. We stopped by the side of the track and patiently waited for the muggles to pass by before we went in for the find. We signed the log and replaced everything as found.TFTC and the first cache of our Mega weekend!

29 March 2024 2:53pmFind # 9937An extended Easter holiday with +Wife, and EveTheStaffy. We have travelled via Rutherglen to find the last of that MEGA's caches on our way through. We are now in Canberra and the caching begins in earnest.Thank you Sol de Lune for the cache.
YAY - found it while night caching on Good Friday evening while in Canberra for the Capital Geobash. Thanks Sol de lune for the cache and the fun hunt. It was pretty much a drive by BUT I did park and walk a few steps. PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great Good Friday evening caching adventures.
You know its an old cache when it has a pencil sharpener in it. Second spot I visited was where I found it, after being led slightly astray. I didnt need to dismount from the bicycle as it turned out, but did anyway. Geocache in good nick. Cheers Sol de Lune .--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Ah well, why not find this one, it was just across the road from the last one we found! Thats how we roll.
The third day in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend.Made my way to the event location for the first time today and enjoyed some of the festivities there throughout the morning. The afternoon was filled caching all over the place with a high priority placed on older caches to help fill Jasmer grids.Another day filled with an amazing variety of cache types and containers were located and with a large group the competition to get hands on the log first was high, with plenty of laughs along the way too. Thanks Sol de lune for placing Northside Drive By for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 13:15 on 29/3/2024.This is find number 8508 for me.
Its Capital GeoBash and Ive made it to Canberra with Tweety2. We have a little time this morning while we wait for Tilda241 to arrive and take us to our war memorial tour later in the day. So its time to walk around Canberra Park & collect some close caches. A quick find here signed the log and now time to head back and onto our tour for the day. TFTC!
Geobash Easter Mega - Day #2 (Good Friday 29/3)For day two, my main focus was the finding the mega site ALs and attending my second of three (pre-registered) tours. This made three tours total so far. I started the day at the mega site and I found the challenge caches around the perimeter of the mega site before heading in for the ALs I ended up finding most of them before heading off to todays tour. Todays tour was at the Australian War Memorial. Another great tour to attend as I once again learnt lots and saw some of the newly updated (to me at least) exhibits. After a late lunch I headed back to the mega site to find the last of the ALs. Once they were complete, I headed off to find some solved WIGs before heading back to the motel. I also found two others which has been on the to-find-list for far too long. Now time to get some sleep for my really busy day tomorrow. TB visit. If the cache wasnt signed as JohnoMawbs, it was signed as JM or as the tour group name. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs & TFTCs Once at the Mega site, myself and a couple of others walked the perimeter of Canberra Park to find the challenge caches. After completing that mission we headed over the hwy to this historic cache. It's always great to find an oldie. A nice quick find here and now back to the mega site to find the AL's. Thanks for placing this cache.

We cant complain about how this GeoBash week is going!Out and about with our WA5 team Burns345 Geotrakka ICNothing and also Neva2Old collecting some targeted caches on our list!Logs signed as WA6 and found a space on the front page to save room this weekend.Cache found with no issues. 14:52Good Friday GeoBashing. The general plan was to get our names on as many Challenge caches as possible. The rest is a bonus. With +Wife doing the chauffeur honours, we amassed nearly a dozen of the former, and a similar number of others, including a variety of types. After making a pair of galahs of ourselves, we were dropped off here so we could walk the fence line picking up a few Challenge caches. Thanks, Sol de Lune... n0w0rries swears he looked there first.#8581

Today sees the opening of the long awaited geobash. While it might not be the official opening it was good to get in an early start. I had car park duties first up this morning, it was nice to meet and greet the cachers as they came in. Registration done, bags picked up, car flag, check out the stalls and ok I'm ready for caching. This is just nicely organised and well set up. Pathtags will be tomorrow. I wondered off and did some of the gadget caches before I meet up with my team mates for the day and we worked out what we were doing.ok sorted and we are off, there were multis and challenge caches, a few puzzles and a few targets for the day. It was not going to be a huge day, well it is a late start and there is an afternoon drinks event and then dinner.A nice multi cache and a fun puzzle to solve.
My first ACT cache. After arriving at Canberra Park for the Geobash had had enough time in the car. Decided to walk down to this cache. A quick find. TFTC
Finally we are in Canberra for the GeoBash.Today Mr Morris headed off with Pprass et al to walk Isaac Ridge and Lady Morris joined Geono for a bike ride along the Majura Cycleway. Different day, different experiences but all good fun. This was the first as we wended our way towards the track and indeed I didn't have to dismount. Thanks for contributing to our holiday Sol de lune
Found at 10:02 AM GAFF1 in the company of geono. Not sure why we did this cache as we were concentrating on high D/T caches. However it was nice to do a simple cache that didn't need some special TOTT's.Thanks to Sol de lune
One of those places where you think 'this hide was asking for a cache'. We were being chauffeured by pprass' for some caching fun on our first day in Canberra for the Geobash. A quick find by me. Dunno why the men were over there..... TFTC Sol de lune.

Arrived at Canberra Park yesterday afternoon and took it easy, just the ad lab and the multi sasuage solving to do. Today we were out on our bikes heading for the CCT trail, not doing it all just see how far we can get by 1200. Also picking up those caches that we pass. A good day had no DNF's which is a bonus when Canberra caching.Total Caches Found 15595TFTC Sol de lune
A nice quick find on our first day in town . Thanks for the cache tnln replaced as found sl
I needed a quick evening find for the streak and this one appeared to fit the bill!Didn't quite park next to gz, but a spot a respectable distance away was chosen and I got to searching soon after.Tried the larger structure first to no avail before repositioning and locating the hide with the aid of my phone torch.A bit of a reach of faith was required in the retrieval process, though fortunately nothing sinister was lurking at gz!Thanks to Sol de Lune for hiding this one!
I am in Canberra for a few days and grabbing some of the local caches while I am here. TFTC
Last day of Cancon for Finalf29 and I only have a couple of hours before I have to pick him up... had a mixed bag of Virtuals, Multis, Trads, ALs and DNFs.
Glad I had my glove... OK I'm just wary of and ... geocaching has really helped a lot with my arachnophobia. Thanks

We are travelling down from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Canberra for a 6 day (5 night) holiday, staying in a park cabin at Alivio Tourist Park in O'Connor, and planning to explore the areas around Lake Burley Griffin, old & new Parliament House’s, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon, the Carillion, Black Mountain, Mount Ainslie, and areas around Canberra Airport and maybe out around the Kowen Forest if time permits. Have solved most of the CBR Wherigo Puzzle series and numerous other Mystery/Puzzle caches, so will hopefully get to some of those, and will do some of the Adventure Labs, Virtuals, and EarthCaches in the areas we visit. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base. This was the 23rd of 23 finds for the day (day 1), and 23rd find of the holiday.
Finally arrived in Canberra and this was the next cache we came to, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Now it's off to the Woolies supermarket at Dickson for supplies, then to our accommodation to check-in. TFTC Sol de Lune.

A drizzly last day in Canberra. Picked this one up on the way out of Canberra. TFTC!
This was our first geocache! It was a nice easy one that gave us an idea of how it works
The current future mrs. Dabricksean and I went for a lovely morning stroll. We are in town working and staying at the nearby caravan park. After a few days of laziness we need to get our ass into gear and go to a nearby walking trail.
This spooky spider full cache was on the way and a nice little spot. A bit hesitant to grab but in the end we came out alive and without any bites
