That one was a fun one

25-Mar-12
Container and cache were on floor at GZ. Cache was empty except for wet and crumpled log. Replaced container/cache where I believe it may have been placed originally. Owner notified.

Very nice camo. Container and cache were on floor at GZ. Cache was empty except for wet and crumpled log. Replaced container/cache where I believe it may have been placed originally. TFTC.

That was fun, but log too wet to sign so that piece of charcoal is my indication that I've been here and tried to sign the log. t4tc

24-Sep-11
A very clever cache! Had thought of making one like this myself before learning that it had already been done. Great to finally tick this one off Smile It was everything I had thought it would be

HaHa - that weta was still in residence. He was wet through when we first spyed him sitting on top of the cache. Although a very wet weta he was reluctant to vacate his perch and needed a little gentle persuasion. Very clever cache and have made it a favourite. Fortunately some wayward muggles had left some tools to help with the retrieval. TFTC

17-Apr-11
Yeah pretty damn cool this one. Took a bit of hunting to find the first part, and then a bit longer to retrieve the cache but luckily we were able to make do with what was available to us. Out popped the cache and a not too happy looking weta. After helping him on his way it was just time to sign the log and bail before the H20 came down. TFTC

17-Apr-11
Spotted this one after a bit of search. Nicely done. Loved the setup. May have injured a little creature (weta) , but we think he will survive. This H20 did get us little wet...maybe the H20 in the clouds were happy that the log was singed after a wee bit time Razz

yup epic fall, watch out for the trenches kids!

27-Dec-10
Well, were do i start... first of all, we weren't keem to cross the stream, at about midnight.... So we headed back to the car.. On the walk back through the field... What did we find? A Waist High Hole... 2 of us, fell in at exactly the same time.. we sat there in the hole, in a complete fit of giggles.... Was actually one of the highlights of the evening.... "WARNING" - Geoaching is Dangerous.......

Oh my! This one deserves 10 points for originality Cool

Arrived at GZ unprepared for the challenge, but thankfully some kind muggles had left some things behind to help us Big Grin

Having done several caches with mum decided to embark on our own and managed our first cache. Enjoyed the pun H to O, didnt like the cache gardian much it just popped out, will upload photo shortly. TFTC

13-Apr-10
Out with Mum & Dad (Dad's birthday), Son and his Girlfriend (new cachers) for the day. Good thing I had lots and lots of the tool, as had to keep cache up while removing the cache gardian that was sitting on top (a Weta).Log sheet wet, dried out a bit, added silica and replaced bag (It looks like gaurdian has been nibling at top of cache). TFTC

18-Feb-10
Only just brought enough with me. Very nicely done. SL TFTC

13-Feb-10
No trouble here. I had seen something similar in the Waikato, so I thought I knew what I was in for. Thanks.

Hé TWS!! We are still waiting for H2o MAXI......

24-Dec-09
Out with Capgun098 enjoying the sun and the hunt this afternoon. As he is younger than me, I delegated him to do the hard work with the tool! A fun cache, thanks.

24-Dec-09
out with hastingus in nz had fun using the tool! TFTC

12-Dec-09
THIS WAS GREAT FUN-MY "TOOL" WASN'T BIG ENOUGH SO HAD TO GO & GET "BIGGER "ONE-DAN HAD A BALL IN THE MUD & MANAGED TO SPREAD IT THRU THE CAR-A FANTASTIC IDEA-TFTC

12-Dec-09
good idea hard 2 get h to o with out geting muddy good fun

25-Oct-09
1152 we had the required 'tool' so the cache was soon in hand. Think we saw the muggles that raided the last cache showing the holder to their mates. TFTC

17-Oct-09
This onne had me going for a while until I circled back as I had gone too far towards the river. The tool I had with me was too small to be able to get the cache but went back to the car to fetch another that was way too big but still worked.

Ingenuous (=nastyTwisted) Wink methos of retrieval.

Cheers for the cache.

29-Sep-09
Very cool cache. Made sure I had the correct TOTT and headed to GZ. Had log in hand soon after. TFTC

15-Sep-09
Great cache, one of the last on the Coast to do so we saved some of the more interesting til last.

02-Sep-09
Nice Hide Once again. I get to go places I never knew existed despite living on the coast for almost 10 years. TFTC
By the way... despite the description i didn't take a pen... I can provide photos if proof is required??

30-Aug-09
Nicely done, took a bit of looking to spot it though. Came well prepared and no problem with the retrieval.

01-Aug-09
Kiwileon had the necessry supplies to effect retrieval.

Happy to be along and see that my caches placed in or near bush aren't the only ones with soft ground in the winter months.

found with Pooke and 90crx.. Seen something like this before Smile

03-May-09
Took a minute or two to find the cache. Was close to not being able to cliam it but nimble fingers got it out. TFTC

Cool hide, the maxi sounds interesting cant wait to see that. Only just had enough Hydrogen Dioxide to get this one.

We had trouble finding how to access the GZ. Our first three attempts were muddy and unsucessful Red Face but finally we found the correct path and the cache was quickly in hand after some quick thinking Big Grin. Great idea for a cache, can't wait for the maxi. T4TC.

21-Mar-09
Came prepared with necessary equipment having done a similar cache at Nelson. Still took a while to locate the cache! Good hide. Thanks

17-Mar-09
We had not expected to do this cache tonight so did not come prepared. Had a bit of time to spare so decided to have a look anyway. Now understand some of the other logs about the difficulty of finding the way to the cache. After a few false starts we realised the route to take, but darkness was now upon us. Returned to the car to find funkymunkyzone just arriving fully equipped, and they generously offered to share with us. Grabbed our torches and headed for GZ. A bit of bush bashing later there it was. Very ingenious!

Met up with kiwicouple again at this one - they were just leaving, perhaps a little *thirsty* to find the cache right now. We offered them something to quench their *thirst* and they joined with us for the hunt. Together we bush bashed our way in and located the ingenious cache.... container? hide? machine? Excellent stuff, and a good cache to bring up another minor milestone of #725. TFTC!!!

07-Mar-09
Found together with KiwiLeon.

Cache was still nice and dry despite the heavy rain but we got it anyway.

Clever hide - T4TC

Second time around (for me) came prepared this time with the right "equipment".

Thanks TWS a very enjoyable cache.

Needs a new log

26-Jan-09
This was a great cache. First of all, we were introduced to our guide dogs, two apparently very old but also very nice Golden Retrievers. Then we headed off towards GZ and spent a while figuring out how to get to the exact location. Being warned by the description and other logs, we were prepared with a fully charged "extraction assistance device" and quickly had the cache in our hands. Great idea. Sadly, the logbook was wet and veeery smelly. On our way back, one of the dogs took the shortcut through the ditch and also came out veeeery smelly. We felt so bad for the owner. Even more as this dog started to walk to the car with us and we had to play "fetch the stick" and quickly drive off to "get rid of him".

We are logging "TFN's TFTC Geocoin" through this cache to show our appreciation for a memorable cache.

Having a car serviced in Silverdale so had time to kill and this was near.
Got to the cache with the tide low , saw what had to be done TwistedCool so had a hunt around the various flotsam but the fun was getting the other item.
Brilliant cache and idea Cool
Log a little damp

Without a doubt, one of the best caches this year. This cache has all the elements of a great cache, an element of "where the hang is it---across there! How the ---" to a nice little discovery of how to get there & then at GZ "wow, thats neat, wish I had of thought of that-- Wink came prepared as I sort of knew what to expect --Wink even so, I was still blown away by this one, nicely put together, NICE!!--TNSLLNTFTCACHE!!

25-Dec-08
First cache for Xmas. A very clever cache idea
Thanks

23-Dec-08
Found the cache quite easily. Luckily we came sufficiently prepared for the retrieval without too much trouble. Very clever hide, we were most impressed. TFTC

01-Dec-08
I was the opposite, nearly came under prepared. Well actually just enough. Great idea. TFTC

27-Nov-08
We were rather over-prepared for this cache, just in case!
Is that an old un-used school nearby?

Brilliant little science experiment.

15-Nov-08
Great hide, guessed what was needed, so a quick find on our short auckland visit to red beach. TFTC

04-Oct-08
Rather cryptic, but clever

25-Sep-08
Walked around GZ but ran out of time.
Had to wear my overall the rest of the day to avoid questions about all the mud on my trousers.....
Will come back with a bit more time

13-Sep-08
Muddy feet, torn pants, and a trip back to the car for a very important ingredient had us all laughing. Indiana Jill, Kayaknkiwi and I all agreed this was a very clever cache. Thanks!

13-Sep-08
Was part of the trio with Indiana Jill. This was fantastic. Really enjoyed this one, especially the muddy feet! TFTC.

13-Sep-08
Trio went in search of this one. Description tells all we needed to know, but inadequate supplies first sent one of us in to the mud . . . and then, thwarted, back to the car for replenishment. Up it popped and away we went! Clever. Wish I had a photo of the muddy feet. But then they'd display a photo of the hole in the seat of my jeans!

01-Jun-08
Cool! We liked this cache. We didn't have enough of the required tool so used the same source as Moneydork!

25-May-08
Hadn't done any homework on this one, however with a bit oc searching I found the tools that I required near the cache site. TFTC.

11-May-08
Done a few of these now so knew what would be required.

Spent a while probing the soft mud with a big stick looking for a safe crossing, while Mrs Sp8 stood quietly in front of the safe crossing. Razz

TFTC, nicely done.

03-May-08
How very interesting, just last week we had done a very similar cache but in another city, so we knew what was required. Check out the bus dwellers on the way, and what about the tame miner birds that hop into your car looking for food!

Well constructed cache in a cool location. TFTC

26-Apr-08
Not an obvious route to cache... but the butterfly quickly spied the planks to walk. Got the cache, signed the log, added more lead to Gr8dads one....

I thought it rather fortunate to have the kayak with me. Great ingeneous cache! Smile. T4tc tws - M@

#873. 3TF. I thought I was being led up the garden path or rather into the swampy mangroves but lo and behold there was the cache sequestered in a little oasis.
I had the requisite supplies but there was an anxious moment where I wondered if I had enough!
Clever stuff TWS. Well done. TFTC.

Stopped by here on the way back from work near Kaiwaka.
And YES, FTF ( First to Float)!! What a neat idea, and well executed as well!! Great stuff!Cool

Wonder how it looked, heading off for a walk with copious amounts of H2O - enough for a day-tramp!! Then returning soon after with most of it gone!![:0]

Out - nill
In - a hand full of lead sinkers!Twisted

Lets see how the next Joker gets it!!Big Grin

PS: Nahhh just joking ( was very tempted though) - left only a wet spot on the ground!!Red Face
