Solved this the other day, able to come here after work, along with gumboots. GZ not too hard to find and the cache was found shortly afterwards.

28-Aug-18
needed to solve in case the tracks the other finals are on reopen. Cache wet but still in good condition.

01-Dec-17
Have been meaning to do these CMC puzzle caches for a while now and slowly got around to locating the DVDs and solving the puzzles. Despite this one being archived, logs would indicate that it is still there, so Yorkshirekiwi83 and I managed to hire a copy of the movie from the Library and solve the puzzle. Having finally solved all 3 puzzles, we went out after work today to see if we could find all caches in the series and finish it off. Arrived at GZ for this one and the area looks like people use it as a drinking spot, however the cache was still safely tucked away in it's hiding spot, although it is still very wet inside. Signed the extra log sheet and re-hid as found. TFTC!

01-Dec-17
Vistra and I hired this movie ages ago to watch and start solving the series, I had never seen it it and was fun to watch. With the imminent closure of the Waitakeres it was on our minds we had to quickly locate and watch these movies (which was harder than it seems) and find time to go out and get them. We had time after work to pick up a couple of them, so we headed off and made the finds. TFTC

12-Jun-16
Completing the process.

22-May-16
I'm on a mission to tackle and finish this series so after solving all of the caches I popped by this one hoping it was still in place to find the information for the final. Luckily it was and I was able to get the required information. I signed off on the slightly damp log that Merlot58 added, but the original log is completly soaked. Otherwise, the cache is in decent shape. TFTC! #1001

Will disable this until I can get out and replace.

Everything was sopping wet and the log book unsignable. I've added a clean dry log and plastic bag, but the cache needs cleaning and drying out.

01-Oct-15
As it was a lovely spring day and I didn't have to work I decided to pick up some of my solved puzzles. I only solved this one yesterday while I had a bit of down time at work. Having not seen the movie (though now I want to!) I went to my good friend google to see what I could find. I soon had answers to all but one of the questions and after looking on google maps I decided it could only be one of 2 numbers, so tried with the first one in the geochecker and got the green tick.

The cache itself is sopping wet, the log book totally unsignable so I added a piece of paper and clean, dry plastic bag, but this one needs some TLC.

27-Sep-15
Making the most of a nice spring day to get some puzzle caches with 10centnz.
This one wasn't too tricky to find, movie was a bit bizarre!
You really need to sort out this cache, it's still full of water and everything is mush.

27-Sep-15
Puzzle solved by synchnz! This one has been annoying me for a while being so close to home! Glad to finally get it! Tftc very wet inside though! Needs a bit of tlc

22-Aug-15
Found this one fine. Couldn't sign log due to completely wet through. Son found this one today. TFTC. Now to just collecting the rest of the series.

Wet completely through the whole cache. Was only able to drain water out. Log and anything paper will need to be replaced.

15-Aug-15
Gps wad accurate but got sidetracked with a red herring. Finally found when I decided to follow the gps. There is makeshift housing and old clothing and empty alcohol cans around this area. Decided against leaving tb's behind.

09-Aug-15
Couldn't sign the logbook, cache is wet

09-Aug-15
Found it after poking around in a few other likely spots. Couldn't sign the logbook as it was soaked. TFTC

Tftc, this was fun to work out and find, found all the answers but 1 without watching the movie and managed to work it out from there.

10-May-15
After a year of unfair neglect by cachers this one has become quite sodden. A signable log sheet has been added by someone but original log book is a slimey mess. Placed in a great spot. I practised a little CITO while picking this one up.

10-May-15
Woohoo! Big Grin Just what I need to qualify for A timely Challenge cache by a whisker. And being my #300 cache it is timely indeed. Loved the movie- I vagely remember seeing and enjoying it many moons ago so was happy to hire it out and re-watch again. tftc.

07-May-14
Researched this movie online but am now interested in watching it. While finding this cache tonight I found some random clothes, papers and ring binder, was pretty weird. TFTC.

15-Feb-14
Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz

See log below, GZ a little messy, could do with some CITO. The pictures that are missing from the cache page are not required for solving the puzzle. From what I can remember they where a poster/photo from the movie. Final appropriately themed. Thanks again for the puzzle and hide.

Watched the movie a few months ago, certainly a little different. Hired it from the Auckland public library for $2. See earlier log can be solved without watching, but you would be missing out on a classic!

01-Nov-13
Used the internet to answer questions. Now want to see the movie, after watching a few clips on You tube. Hide location ideal, used the clue and a stick to locate the cache. (note: Log slightly damp)

A lot of late night research went in on this one, but had the OK and find.
Certainly damp. TFTC.

Managed to get the movie for $1 for the week from Ponsonby near my work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
......Rather random storyline , especially at the end !
Had to watch it like a hawk to get all the clues !..... Then off to get the cache !
Keen to do other two movie mysteries in series now ! [^]

03-Aug-13
Found today after doing some google research. Log book a little bit damp but was still able to log the find. Nice hide, carried on to find another one that was not to far away from here.

21-Jun-13
Solved the puzzle over a few weeks and was able to answer most questions thanks to Google. I had one outstanding answer and I simply used Google Earth and the hint to narrow my search area.

I needed to fill today on my caching calendar so decided to go and find this one. My GPSr reception was pretty poor around GZ and I therefore searched a much larger area than necessary. When I eventually located the cache using the hint, my GPSr was still reporting it as 8m away. The LB was soaked through and totally useless but I was then grateful to see another log sheet included and was able to sign this one.

After seeing some of the clips, I will probably watch the film if the opportunity arises. Thanks for this puzzle and TFTC.

Planned to make a caching trip with evilno9 this afternoon and he was pretty organised with which ones we could and this one was on top of the list. He did mention it was pretty exciting to solve this one and he had heaps of fun.

I personally have not being on side of this area so exploring this end was something new. We saw a guy walking out of the bushes and away from here so we were left to do our own thing. A good measure for the place this one. Thanks for bringing us here.

Very pleased to have finally come through here to collect this cache as this was my closest unfound cache to home. And now it's not...

After allocating watching the movie to angeshirl and leaving me to do the calculations, it ended up that neither of us watched it and I had to resort to the higher wisdom of Google to get everything I needed bar one question. Spent far too long getting the tick but was very happy when I did, and so came through with snakelion today to complete the formalities.

Did spot a gentleman coming out of the trees just before we showed up but he had his own agenda and was long gone in a matter of minutes.

Cool puzzle and looking forward to the rest - TFTC

Decided to do all four CMC caches so set about watching the movies and solving the clues - only completed the first two in the end.

I couldn't find a copy of Harold and Maude (later saw in the comments to try Fatso) but pieced the clues together through youtube clips and some google searches. Now I really want to watch the movie!!

Location was really fitting. Took quite a while to find this one as I headed into the scrub in the wrong area and ended up doing a huge circle. It started to rain and got a bit dark mid way through - I completely freaked out when I stumbled over a body shaped car seat cover! - but finally found the cache, signed the log, and went to find #2.

03-Jan-13
I was in Glen Eden for the first time and was pickup up some completed puzzles and was driving near this one and had to go for it. This was solved months ago in prep for my Auckland raid for our Christmas break. This one was solved without watching the movie. I have seen the other two. It's amazing what you can find with Mr. Google. The cache was located easily and extra number was recorded. The original log is wet and the replacement was in good nick. Thanks for the puzzle and cache.

We have been keen to do this Cult Movie Classics series for a long time, so don't know why it took us so long to actually get around to doing it. We watched Harold and Maude a few nights ago - can see why it is a cult movie Wink. By the end of the movie we had our co-ordinates for the cache. Set out this afternoon to make the find in an in-theme location. Very enjoyable cache, thanks.

We had fun google solving this one. Found while in the area today collecting a few solved puzzles. We had read the previous log and came prepared with a new log sheet and a plastic bag and we dried the cache out so its all good now TFTC.

Out with Mikemiss this evening--racking up the DNFs. This was my only uneventfull find/DNF. Followed the GPSr and Mikemiss immediately spotted the cache. Cache is in a sorry state and needs attention. Luckily we were able to record the bonus info, but the log book was pulb. Mikemiss did all the hard work on the puzzle. But given that I enjoyed the other movies in this series, I ahould probably add this one to our que. Cheers for the cache!

This was one of my first puzzle solves and finally in the area last night to grab this one. The cache is in very bad condition as per the previous finders logs. Couldnt sign log book as its sopping wet. Bonus info still dry so have recorded the info. TFTP&C! Big GrinBig Grin

19-Jan-12
Cache very wet inside and logbook is pulp.

18-Jan-12
Solved this one ages ago - great movie! Forgot about the cache until today - decided it was high time to find the final. Cache is indeed needing some TLC - log too wet to write on (but took a photo of the cache as proof of visit if necessary). The clue for the bonus cache is in good nick though (took a picture of that too for future reference). The cache was sitting exposed, so covered it with natural camouflage, so at least it shouldn't get any more unwanted attention before the owner can attend to it. Unfortunately I was rather unprepared and had only my phone and a pen - if I had my caching bag I would have put a fresh dry log in. TFTC, looking forward to working out the rest of the series, particularly as I have seen the other movies also.

13-Jan-12
The movie is brilliant, but unfortunately the cache was in a bad way.

It was open, waterlogged, and the contents strewn all over the place. The logbook had been removed from it's bag, giving me the impression someone has ransacked the cache.

Everything was sitting on a tea towel and sheet/bag so I'm unsure if this is the camo.

I emptied the water, put everything back in, and returned the cache to it's correct place.

The owner might want to check on this one as the logbook is drenched and unable to be used.

I had a good look around, so Im either in the wrong place, blind or its gone.

Solved before leaving England and had a little free time after Mum's interment today, so popped over to do it. Took a few minutes to find as I found quite a few of the items in the clue and everything needed checking. Had hoped to do the nearby night cache tonight with some muggle relatives but as we sat in the car nearby munching our pizza, it poured down ***again***. Sigh... Not a time of year I would normally choose to visit... TFTC Might catch the film sometime. Thanks for the recommendation.

05-Jun-10
A nice quiet spot on an early morning stroll. No muggles to be seen.
Managed to solve the puzzle without seeing the movie,
but after reading about it I think I will be viewing it. TFTC

No research required, we just rented the video for a buck from the video shop and thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie, in fact, all the movies in this series, and we were determined to collect them all today, unfortunately not the final bonus cache, we will be back!!

Thanks KiwiGary for a great time with these caches.

Out with BaldEd mainly on a signoff of solved puzzle caches with the odd trad as well.

I'll do the others another day - they are solved but need to be signed off.

Cheers for the cache.

I was not familiar with this movie so I had to do quite a bit of research to get the coordinate values. Found the cache with Tufty on a 'boys' day out'. T4TC.

Well! What a great movie.
Missed it first time round - yes, that'll surprise some geocachers - that St. Ouens was a teenager in 1971 - hard to believe, but true.Big Grin
But yeah, what a movie and man Cat Stevens, wow.
Thanks Kiwi Gary and Margaret.

All honour to Rich for locating the cache... really enjoyed the puzzle, look forward to getting onto the others. (Bet you to it Philip!) T4TC

A rather interesting and enjoyable movie. I'd recorded the cache co-ordinates slightly incorrectly after checking them on the geochecker site. Doh! Had me looking in a place for a while that I was certain it couldn't be. Came home again to check and realised what I had done. Off again to find the cache, and found it with relative ease. Nice camo, nice hide. Enjoyed this cache immensely.

This was the only one of the series which we couldn't find the movie, so had to resort to more traditional means.

Followed Tramper Ted around the series today, or did they follow us, seems they were a bit confused on their dates.

Yep Mr TT put the wrong date in the logbook, he was a day ahead of himself. This was probably the hardest to solve, but got there in the end. Nice camo!! TFTC

Went up and caught up with Harold, man this is scary dude! Even scarier when finding in the dark!! In a TB and signed Log.
Thanks Gary for the cache!
