Today we decided to head North and try finding the caches between Wombarra and Stanwell Park.

Unfortunately and disappointingly, we found far less than we attempted (4 out of 13 = 30.77%). This was by far one of the worst days we've faced in a long time.

We agreed that these caches need to be checked by the CO's.
Pretty defeated to come this far for likely missing caches.

21-Jan-18
Changing my log from 'Needs Maintenance' to 'Needs Archived'.

There's been a string of DNF's,
I posted a 'Needs Maintenance' on 1st December, 2017.

It's been more than 28 days, and there has been no response from the Cache Owner.

Any chance the CO can check on this one?
Thank you

09-May-17
To good for me today. GPS was going nuts under the bridge.

20-Jan-17
Unfortunately couldn't find this one. I approached GZ from both directions but the wind and rain hindered a thorough search, will be back.

09-Nov-16
While staying at Moss Vale we took a drive out through some of the local area to look at the scenery and grab a few caches. TFTC

04-Oct-16
Back in Australia to help celebrate my grandmother's 100th birthday. But that isn't for a few days. Staying with an aunt/uncle and we went for a drive to the beach. Wound up walking the entire bridge. And had the opportunity to give this cache an attempt. Searched a good bit but came up empty, But had a good time. Great views!

04-Oct-16
I had found this cache years ago! But does not seem to be there! Sad great hang out spot but love it!!

02-Apr-16
So I hate roads, cars and bridges but for some reason I love this place. maybe it has something to do with all the stingrays I also see from the bridge. Views aren't bad and its also pretty good for a perv on a windy day.

Today I thought I would give this one ago, coming in from the old highway. Amazingly the road seemed to be very narrow. I am sure it used to be wider.

Anyway took a book of a contour struggle to get there but once I got to the correct gz, the cache was quickly found.

TFTC TNLN and a favourite for bringing me to such an awesome spot.

27-Feb-16
Lovely spot to end our geocaching adventure

18-Jan-16
After slipping through the handy hole in the fence with Geomum and geohound we made our way to the GZ. Finding is tricky but I think that this would be better suited to a terrain 4. We all looked at the bottom of the slope then made our way under the bridge. Still no luck. Then we moved a bit across and Geomum exclaimed "it could be here" and sure enough the cache was in hand moments later. Beautiful spot and definitely cache worthy. Tftc!!

05-Jan-16
A grey and windy day, no good for the beach but just right for some giro-caching (I'm on my bike).
Misty view north. Thanks

28-Dec-15
There's an interesting battle going on here - between the railing cutters and the railing repairers. Currently the cutters are winning so it wasn't too hard to lose the altitude required to start finding the cache ...

07-Nov-15
The irony of this cache is, as construction work cordoned off the sea-side access, I had to use the old road to get to it Smile

But I remember cycling along the old road. With severe erosion and undercutting, parts of the edge of the carriageway was little more than the thickness of the bitumen. Precarious stuff now made all good and smooth riding.
And they even reduced the gradient of the climb on the South side (used to be the steepest gradient part of the Sydney-to-Gong ride!).

In: TB/f.001
Out: nothing

This was a challenge, between searching the bridge, no luck, but then finding it after some challenging effort, must admit it was a thrill. Well worth the effort.

28-Oct-15
Wow! What a great view!! Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC

26-Jul-15
We can finally mark this one off our list, left 2xTB.. No pen in Cache, so we left a calling card & photo for log. TFTC.

26-Jan-15
Parked the car some distance away put on our rain coats and hunting we went, everything a little bit slippery adding to the challenge, challenge was soon met. Some odd 12 cracy fishermen are in the far distance trying their luck. Great views from here. TFTC

Easy find as I was already "there"...cache is dry and reasanably clean inside...

28-Dec-14
Nach dem Brückenspaziergang sind wir auch noch zum "Fundament" der Brücke hinabgestiegen und haben nach der Dose gesucht. Gut gefunden.

Advised by the wife that she and the kids would stay on the right side of the fence for this one, I quickly popped down for a nice easy find. A few strange looks as I clambered back over....

An interesting walk and a tricky scramble down to the cache.
HINT: Go *very* slowly down the steep bit !
I send BIG thanks to Ironbark for re-establishing this cache, since the original cache owner has apparently moved on to other hobbies.
By the way, I had the privilege of being shown this cache by The Skink, one of the design engineers responsable for the Sea Cliff Bridge, an absolutely stunning piece of technology and (in my humble opinion) a beautiful 'work of art'.
Greetings from France.
Thanks Ironbark and Grrriffo for the cache, I give a favourite point.

Unfortunately another dnf for us, using the phone GPS means that sometime it is too hard. Once again disappointed geokids

21-Aug-14
An easy find with the more enjoyable terrain just to make it interesting.
I had teamed up with Team Canary for a day of caching on the coast. This was one of the last we found as a group before heading our separate ways.
Thanks for the cache.

21-Aug-14
Noodles22 and my youngest took off and grabbed this one before I reached the end of the bridge. They loved it.

TFTC.

12-Jul-14
Beautiful day in the national park. Stopped over. Great cache and great view. No one in sight which was great. TFTC!

02-Jul-14
Awesome cache simply for the stunning location with an off the track scramble. Loved it. Liked driving across the bridge I had to do it a couple of times for The Sheer Driving Pleasure.

13-Jun-14
Felt like a complete fool clambering around in dress sandals. Geo hubby made yhe find but was last signed6/4/14. So maybe there is 2? Tftc

06-May-14
Under time pressure with a carful waiting in the "no waiting" zone...oops. Arriving at GZ I became aware that my top half was literally covered with spikes from the plant life I had just hacked my way through. There should be an attribute for "expensive knitwear not recommended". Lots of rocks to look under, no time to do it with! Found on second go round, run back through killer spikes, jump fence, nearly lose balance and crash in front of worker in his hi-viz! Epic. Would have been good spending some time under the bridge enjoying the view - next time maybe. TFTCM!

Weren't sure that we would be able to get this one today but wandering back across the bridge we saw the entrance point and plenty of muggles exploring beyond the bars. So we certainly weren't out of place having a closer look down low. Spectacular views from a different vantage point and slowly we made our way where the GPSr was pointing. Cache was in the obvious spot thankfully. Cache safely retrieved, signed and replaced and we made it back down without slipping. A beautiful spot.
Thanks Grrriffo Big Grin

Found with dlsme, a previous finder, so it didn't prove all that difficult. Got some great photos from down here. TFCT!

Awesome spot! Tftc

08-Jan-14
Tftc. What a cool spot. This one has been on the radar for a while, so as had Jacobel with me today we at least had a person to call for help if one of us plummeted! As were making decent found some other cachers who pointed us in the right direction. Found and replaced, I may do my own cache here soon. Fave point for the location

I found this while on a motorcycling tour. I had wanted to ride along this bridge for many years, and this was my chance. A very impressive structure. tftc.

That’s one more find for me! Thanks so much for hiding this geocache.

07-Dec-13
I have driven over it, cycled over it and walked over it but haven't seen it from this perspective before, at least not since it was opened. As I was part of the design team that created it, this cache had a special significance for me. I have to give it a fave point. TFTC.

16-Nov-13
Unfortunately I couldn't find this one.

19-Sep-13
Many many months ago saw that this cache had gone but the other day noticed it hadn`t been archived so checked the logs only to find that a while ago Ironbark kindly replaced the cache with a new container so I just had to find this one. Parked in a nearby side street on the northern side of the bridge & walked along the pedestrian walkway until I found the perfect spot to cross the road (be very careful as it`s often a very busy road) made my way a bit further north to the end of the caged rocks, hopped over them & headed a bit downhill until it was time to clamber underneath the bridge itself, very carefully zeroed in on the cache being careful of the steep slope nearby, made a quick find & enjoyed the views from a different aspect to the one most people see.

Take it slow and don't slip. You'll probably regret doing so!

Tough one here as I climbed up from the bottom. Finally made the find after searching all over the area. Enjoyed this one. TFTC!!

Great family adventure. Have been waiting a long time to do this one.

26-Jun-13
Magnificent! The family loved this one! Drove over the bridge, parked and went for a nice walk to GZ. Bit confused but eventually figured out the location. Had a great time down here TFTC Grrriffo

WooHoo - what a find! If you stepped backwards while signing this log you'd probably die! Concealed it where we found it. Now to find somewhere to have lunch Smile

25-Feb-13
FOUND! Clambered around and located quickly.

03-Jan-13
walked the bridge and then ducked under to find the cache.

01-Dec-12
Ok asked a previous finder where it was as this place needs a cache due to its international significance, so with that in mind took a new container, found the old log and replaced the new container within a few metres of the previous.
So all is good to go.
Happy caching.

Ironbark.

20-Nov-12
Cache is no longer there ( see previous log). Owner not responding to several needs maintenance requests and has not logged in for nearly 3 years.

04-Nov-12
On the ways past this to the Earthcache near by, after arriving at GZ all I could find was the remains of a logbook.

The container is definatly gone. I can vouch that all that remains is a old 'Spiral' brand log book (see photo)
This needs replacing.
Now im off to the earthcache.... TFTC

16-Jul-12

A great day out with our nephew authentix and a great cachetour along the pacific drive.

Cache found after a long search but is in miserable condition and needs to be replaced.

Cache owner not logged on for many years.
One cacher states definitely gone and then somebody finds it!!

Not sure if I should ignore or just go for it!

Does local reviewer have any thoughts?

29-Jan-12
No luck for me here. Thanks

26-Jan-12
We looked and looked but had no luck Sad

02-Nov-11
very nice place

15-Aug-11
Didn't realise this had so many DNF until we reached GZ. Enjoyed the walk but I think this one is gone.

04-May-11
This cache has disappeared completely, logbook included. Needs owner intervention. I think the bar owner or its patrons may have helped this happen. There is a makeshift pub setup in the area. Smile look forward to knocking this one over when it comes back online. Great spot.

OMG there's no cache container... Signed log though.

Found at 17:30 while on a caching trip from Adelaide. A great view from the bridge. Was very careful heading to GZ and found it after I went too far and headed back up the track. I was surprised you can't hear the traffic when under the bridge. SL. TFTC.

14-Oct-10
Easy find fun to get.

12-Oct-10
Together with cacheFinder_General, thanks for the cache

12-Oct-10
After Thai dinner in Thirroul, back on the way to Stanwell Park, I thought I show my friends 'cacheFinder_General' that cache under the bridge. Had the cache 'Sea Cliffs' in mind and climbed along the bridge wall to look into the tube holes. In the darkness, we looked around for further holes - it was in 2006 I found it; so things may have changed. Indeed, I made the conclusion, the place must have changed - and found finally the new one. Take care when running around there - especially at night time.

Late at night, I was kindly led to the cache site by kdliss after dinner. The terrain is quite tricky in the dark. It's definitely better to do in daylight, the view to the sea is probably really cool then as well. Thanks for the cache,

cFg

07-Oct-10
Quick and easy find on a blustery Spring day, thanks for the warning, lucky Geomum wasn't with us, she would have freaked out with the kids being so close to the edge!
TFTC, No swaps, Took Geocoin "Merry Christmas" and will try and get it to QLD as requested

07-Oct-10
No where near as dangerous as some would have you believe, an easy find in the end, and the views........wow!

Thanks....

What a great place for a cache! As i was walking away from this cache i thought to myself, if i hadnt started geocaching i never would have come here. ever. Glad i did! Thanks heaps. TNLN! Found with club_bindi and new found friends jyge.

22-Jul-10
We went for a wander in the stormy weather, and came in from the north end over the drain. Not the easiest way to go, but we got down to GZ to some pretty awesome views. Fairly easy find, signed the log and back up the hill and take the longer, easier way south. TNLN, TFTC.

26-Jun-10
This cache had a sense of déjà vu for me having found the original sea-cliff cache very close by in June 2006! Despite the warnings on the cache page, this one was a lot safer to retrieve than the predecessor!
Fabulous view out of the ocean and rock platform from here.
Thanks for the cache Grrriffo.

26-Jun-10
With the warning clear in our mind we carefully manoeuvred to the cache. You certainly need to be aware of your footing - it's a long drop. An amazing bridge and great scenery. Took the turtle TB.

07-Apr-10
Found pretty quickly without any problems, though it should be mentioned to be very careful if attempting this cache after the rain. Great hide thanks TNLN TeamVera

16-Mar-10
Nice little adventure getting to this one, got a rough bearing on where it was on the way to it and of course the gps was pretty useless once under the large concrete structure... ended up being where I expected thankfully as I would have hated a DNF after the effort to get up to the cache location!

On the drive south afterwards I was briefly checking out the old road, albeit a bit longer looks like it would have been a much easier path to access the cache via.

One of the best caches I've done, thank you for an excellent cache.

16-Mar-10
Found the cache with Dodgy123. I'm not sure if there was a more easier terrain which led to the cache because I personally found it a bit steep and scary! Despite that, it was a rewarding first find of the day. Thanks for the cache, bringing us back to this lovely location with beautiful views.

13-Mar-10
You're right, it is hazardous. I was hoping it wasn't down there but...
Lots of muggles have signed the book and they left the container quite exposed, so I covered it with some rocks.
Took the old road back - rougher but more interesting.
Anyone noticed all the locks on the sea-side guard rail near the southern carpark? They have commemorative engravings on them. Is this a new trend?
Thanks.

14-Feb-10
Took a while for the GPS to settle down when out from under the bridge. When we got a bearing the cache was quickly in hand. Took GC. TFTC.

I love this cache! Went looking for the cache around 19:30 when the bridge was empty, making it easy to get down to where the cache is. After finding the cache with the help of some friends explored the area. Awesome Smile

10-Jan-10
Now this is an impressive structure. Did the walk and got to GZ and of course I was at the wrong altitude. Found a way to the right altitude and found the cache. TFTC. Big Grin

24-Nov-09
Ding and I did a night stealth mission to locate this cache. We almost had to double back but we got it right the first time.
I took a shark TB.
Cheers.

Looked and looked and looked...no success.

15-Nov-09
Found after a search that was considerably longer than it should have been. Tftc

30-Oct-09
Had always wanted to visit the new bridge since it was built. Today on the 3rd day of our holidays we dropped by. Parked the vehicle nearby and decided to walk over the bridge. Had a quick look for the cache and realised it was not as simple as it looked and required a bit more adventure. A quick trip to the dark side and we had it in hand. Tnln, tftc

18-Oct-09
After the success of the moon mission metion to leapin75 that harry the shark TB was looking for a
seaside cache to visit no worries and five min later on the under side of the bridge in he goes. The cache
was empty so harry had more than enough room....TFTC....

Thanks to leapin75 for bringing me to this one and nice to meet you hopefully we can team up again

.....Time to go and find this gnome on the mountian........

The bridge decorations Leapin75 pointed out has given me a great idea for a cache....Smile
