Not sure why I missed this when I first looked! A very quick find on my way through for a walk today. TFTC
Went around in circles here initially until we decided to use the GZ for the zero in. Discovered a crevice blue tinge nearby in initial frisk! TFTC Nathanr.au and gavz for bringing us here for some adventure!
Went past a bit before realizing but came back up. Bag broken but container is ok.Nice day to be out and about with Albida and Kittykatch. Thanks for getting me out and about nathanr.au
Mount StromloI joined up with Joolay and albida33 today to take a walk and grab some caches. We headed out early to avoid the hottest part of the day. Lots of mountain bikes, whizzing around. Cache found in good condition. Thanks for the hide nathanr.au
Nice quick find, beautiful view. Hard to stay out of sight from the BMX riders.

Noticed something that drew my there right away. Coords were fantastic which is always so appreciated when it comes to rocks.

#1730 While already on the mountain for a cache, I headed this way on my way back to the car. Thankfully not a busy day for cyclists ??? but I did wait for a couple to pass on my bush bash descent. The Geo sense allowed for a fast enough find of a well hidden cache. Cheers.
What an amazing way to start my holidays from work. Geo-events, traveling, meeting up with friends and finding many different caches made it fun! It’s so nice to finally be able to do all these things… again. The following descriptions are my adventures between the days of 12/11/21 and 16/11/21. Each cache has been logged to the end of my adventures for the day of finding them. If you would like to read my full log, please find it on any cache I found on the 16/11/21.
Day #1: I finished work at 4pm and headed over to Wagga for the only GIFF event in NSW. Apart from the CO, I was the first to arrive at the event. It was great to finally attend a Geocaching after many months without them. All talk Geo was had by all until we were told that dinner was ready. Soon after, the popcorn was ready and the movies were on. Congratulations to all the GIFF finalists and they were all a great watch. Also, Congratulations to BMG for receiving the FTF on the event. Then it was time to head home and get ready to head to Canberra for the next few days.
Day #2: I was nearly late to my own event. O’well… It was still fun with the small group of us that turned up. We also discovered many Moveable caches before heading off to today’s main goal. This happened to be finding the ‘A’ part of the GA geo-art series as well as the lone GC caches around the area which I hadn’t found as I pasted by them. I wasn’t alone as AKM came for the walk as well. After finding all but the last two we headed our separate ways as it started raining heavier. Hopefully, it won’t be raining tomorrow so the event goes ahead but well will need to see. Also pizza for dinner tonight.
Day #3: Today’s adventures included the CCE down in Booroomba and as many of the nearby caches as possible. I didn’t do the walk to the ‘Booroomba Rocks’ but I am still able to log the event. I then headed off with a large group of others to find the nearby caches. After that, I caught a lift with Kittykatch, Joolay, isopeda and Barb2e and we headed down to the ACT boarder finding the caches along the way many caches were found and a new GCA cache placed (Gudgenby – GA25097). It was great to see some ammo cans out in the wild, even if they were slightly damaged by the fires. As we arrived back in Tharwa we had afternoon tea and headed our separate ways. Another great day and so much more to go.
Day #4: Not many finds today, but definitely quality finds including a 2003 cache. They are becoming few and far between and it was great to see this one still alive. Many unique locations that I would never have visited if it wasn’t for geocaching. Most caches I found were somewhere along the drive/walk around Mount Stromlo. I also wandered around the Belconnen Mall to do some Christmas shopping. Another great day but my trip away is coming to an end… as tomorrow is my last day.
TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and the rest of the caching community enjoyment.

Out and about on Stromlo today, turning as many greens into yellows as I can and a freezingly chilly wind day. Lots of fun with the elevation and the eMTB
Grateful thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining the caches that continue to entertain me on my caching journey.

I parked at the visitors centre at the top of the hill and enjoyed an 11.5km loop hike around the western Stromlo caches today.
Last one for the day, down the hill from Stromlo Summit III and a nice straightforward find at GZ.
thanks, nathanr.au and gavz.

I set out today with this cache my sole target as I aim to complete my day hidden calendar - only one more date to go now!
My approach certainly wasn't consistent with the terrain rating of 2.0, having gone cross-country from Uriarra Road. The cache itself was readily found and is in good condition. The next finder may even find a pair of Bolle sunglasses sitting on a rock near the cache .

The Omnia Friday Ramble explored Mt Stromlo today which provided the opportunity to seek out some geocaches, of which I located nine. This one, the final one of the morning, was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot on the coordinates. Thank you nathanr.au and gavz for installing and maintaining this cache.
I'm not looking forward to the climb back up the hill to the car so I'm logging at the gz. Ack! Think of the steps count. Just keep walking... just keep walking... TFTC
ANother day up at Stromlo... its so close to where I live that I have overlooked it for a long time, not anymore.
11 years old and not a single favourite point... that seems wrong especially from such a cool location. Fave point awarded

"Do we have to walk back up that hill" said Muggle, we had best find the cache! Silvereyes and Muggle had their eyes in a different direction, and this was one for me, interesting shaped rocks, with bicycle track going right thru the middle, again great views.
Full honours to TravelGran for this one. The hint brought to mind I was once married to a man with a similar name - similar personality - ha ha. Tftc

A warm sunny day to be out caching, and getting exercise. This was the fourth of several bike rides (and walks) today. 4 caches on this ride - a loop from one at the the top, this one, down to 2 others and then a slog back up again. TFTC.

Had a bit of time at the end of the workday to get a cache before dark. Parked down on the main road and walked up. Definitely a higher than T2 approach!! Quick find, once a mountain biker or two dashed past. TFTC
Was out in the area with dty73 for a walk around the Stromlo area. Plenty of riders out zooming about and nice views along the way. Do love caches with rocks, bit trickier searching sometimes but nice to sit on! Found easy enough today but can see how this could be tricky. Thanks for the cache.
Out with Aquilus1 for some caching. Parked at the observatory and walked around to 9 caches in the area. Luckily this cache was in a familiar hide. My phone was not helping at all through here. Tftc!!!
A few MTBers around, but not enough to get in my way. Still, I couldn't find it. Next time I'll bring my proper GPS, rather than trying to use the notoriously unreliable phone.
We managed to find a non-mtb track to wander along to get to GZ. There we made a quick find. Interesting rocks around here! Thanks nathanr.au
A massive effort to get to this cache! I came from the cache below at the bottom of the hill (Around the Clock) and it was an uphill trek through a Double Black mountain bike run!
I had to push my bike the entire way as well, there was no way I was going to try ride it uphill in the dirt
I finally reached GZ but my phone stopped working but the name of the cache gave it away and I soon had the find even without an accurate GPS reading!
Thanks for placing!

I was another of the small bunch of people who came and found a few caches up here on the post-event walk
I mostly led the way down here (I think I have some mountain goat genes ... and the others were crazy enough to follow me?!) ... I was still doing a lap of the first place my phone was pointing me to, when it decided to do the usual "ok, now I made you go past it, it is actually over there" thing it seems to do ... and that is when someone else found it there - lol
TFTC - nice interesting little spot hidden away here ... I might have to come back and have another look here when I am back in this area finding the other caches I have not found yet, downhill from here

Who can resist coming out for this one when we were only 400 meters away!!! Great to find a cache that's been unloved for awhile... here's to 9 new logs! Lol
Decided to try for this because it hadn't been found for 13 months. Group find after nearby event. Yay! Cache in great condition.
Joined the expedition to this cache after the event, led by DarksideDan. Thanks Tankengine.
The group led by Darksidedan after the Red Centre Experience bbq Event had not intended to look for this cache but hey, not that much further - in for a penny, in for a pound! A good find of a cache in great condition. Thanks for the encouragement Darksidedan! SL
#11297. Day 5 of our two week Canberra Holiday with Robmc. First thing on the agenda was to buy me some new "Grass Seed Proof" Boots. Thanks Mr Anaconda - I bagged a winner!! Other things on the agenda were finding a few caches as we headed to Mt Stromlo for the Red Centre Event and then a walk to a few caches led by DARKSIDEDAN.
A most enjoyable day had - especially the socialising with other over the border raiders and several of the locals that we have met earlier in the year or around the traps.
13 months of unlove on this cache. You have to love that. A group find with many others after the Red Centre Event here today.
Thanks nathanr.au

Made the walk down to these nice rocks. Luckily found in the first place that I looked.

#852 Our last find for the day. Signed log and replaced. Found with Green-martian and NightHawke238. TFTC.
3rd and final find on my mtb loop, nice hide! Fun little trail too, might motivate me to explore more than just skyline. Tftc
I must have ridden by this cache several without realising it was there. Rode out to Stromlo via Lyneham Eucalypts, Bruce Ridge, Black Mtn, Aranda Bushland, the Cork Oaks, Dairy Farmer's Hill, and the bike path to Stromlo around the new suburbs. Whipped up to the top and came over from Closer to the Stars. There was a fair bit of passing traffic on the trail below.
SL, then ripped off down the fun of Roller coaster/Skyline/Luge

We found this on our run today over and around Mr Stromlo. Being a weekday, it was fairly quiet, and we enjoyed some great views along the way.

Set out to do some goecaching around the Mt Stromlo area. Got the bike and set off to find Balderdash, nice quick find and TFTC nathanr.au
Found this with Rick on a unicycle ride up Stromlo to drop some trackables off.
We piked and went back out Magpie Rock and down Skyline, as we've ridden around Magpie Rock before, are flying to the UK tomorrow, and didn't purchase cancellation insurance
Nice views up here -- TFTC.

An early morning foray on Mt Stromlo. Nice to see the countryside back green. TFTC.
With The Rats trying to find #10,000 before July, steeba and I were easy to convince to come on a trip to Canberra to have a big day of raiding numbers. Despite the temperature hitting 37°C we still managed to find a lot of caches. Although it sure was testing in that heat.
I am not sure why I did not find this one the last time I was up here. Oh well, problem rectified now!
Cheers

Found on a quick overnight trip down to Canberra with The Rats and Hoojar.
We managed to clear out Stromlo today which was great- and some interesting MTB spots. TFTC!

Headed down to Canberra for a bit of caching with steeba and Hoojar. This was one of a few caches we found on a very hot day in Canberra.
With the temperature nudging 37deg the order of the day was plenty of water, shade with a bit of caching thrown in.
Thanks

There was a ride day on today at Stromers.
There were heaps of riders test riding pushies
Oddly, while i searched for the cache, not one person rode past this quite little side track.
This could have been a lengthy search, but the co-ords were spot on.
Many thanks for the hide.

This was the twenty-first find in a series of finds while navigating in the Mt Stromlo area. I originally stopped my bike a bit further away from Gz but later brought it a bit closer. Met a nice Mt biker on my way through. Found the cache after a bit of searching. TNLNSL TFTC nathanr.au!
been through this area before, way before geocaching. tftc and the chance to come back to this beautiful area. "Closer to the Stars" a few meters south is one of my favorite caches of all time.
2073. Grabbed this one without any troubles while wandering around the top of the mountain. TFTC.
found when riding to the top of Mt Stromlo, we cut to the cache after reaching the top and had to go back to start the down hill but latter relised it was on our track. I fun extra activite to our bike ride TFTC
Our last find on the mountain. We didn't notice that it would be on the bike track, so we went to get the cache, then rode all the way back up to the top because we skipped too much of the track.
TFTC.

Walked from summit of Stromlo and did 3 caches in a row, together with Iewie and paps
One of my favourite spots to ride through. Little did I know there was a cache here. Ta.
With only a Tom Tom for my GPS guide it took a little while to find this, but I did. TFTC.
Saturday 22 September 2012 - on a very warm sunny spring afternoon this cache was a quick find. Thx p2p, TFTC
Great little hide. Lots of mountain bikers out today but no one came whizzing by while we were searching and signing. Thanks for bringing us here!
The search took a bit longer than the easy rating would suggest given some growth and demise on GZ but it is there. Dino and Pebbles made swaps. Jackathol and I SL. Thanks nathanr.au.
I finally made it up here today and once at GZ made a quick find. The views from here are great, TFTC
Met with a huge Black Cockatoo guarding this cache, squawking its protest at our visit to this pretty location on a glorious January morning. We couldn't get the camera out before the "keeper" flew away. TFTC
Found with our friends on a caching run on Mt Stromlo. A pretty easy find with a good view. Nice walk to the cache. We then swapped a few things. TFTC nathanr.au and gavz![:o)]
TFTC. This is the type of place we never go without geocaching. Just wouldnt know about. Thanks for the intro to the place
I would have ridden past this about 100 times over the last few years. Great place for a cache. Quick find after an enjoyable ride.
We were at Stromlo yesterday for picnic where our 9 year old left her iPod Touch behind, so I came back today to unsuccessfully look for it. After my search I thought I may as well get a cache:-). I'd failed in this cache a few years ago but found it first try today. TFTC!
Going past here on a ride so it was a good spot to stop. Just wish I have more time up my sleve to take a whole bunch of photos. Great weather for a ride and great fun too. Thanks.
We have cycled the Cockatoo Switchbacks, Red Rocks Lookout, Wedgetail and had Coffee and Sticky Date Pudding.
We found a Trig Point (again) for GCA and a couple of sundials for Waymarking and came down to decision time . . .
Blue Trail of Green trail?
Ultimately we made the wrong choice and found ourselves below the cache and had to make a climb back up the hill to the find. Not such a big problem because it was a fine day to be out riding and we had the trail to ourselves.
Cache found and on our way.
Cruising now - done all the cranking to get to this point - BUMP - flat tyre (and no repair kit).
So disappointing to have to push and carry the bike back down hill to the car.

A nice easy walk around Mt Stromlo with my friend on a gorgeous day. The location for the cache has a splendid view of the land below stretching out towards the Parliamentary triangle. Came across the remains of a cacher who must have met foul play - poor thing.
I am regularly amazed at the fact that Agent Basil and I seem to synchronously yet unknowingly cache together. I also made an attempt on this and some other caches in the area with dogs and without a bike on a Sunday early on in my caching days. As you may imagine I was deterred by the number of people whizzing past at what seemed amazing speeds. I spotted the line to this cache at that point and counted up the number of 2-wheeled obstacles in the way and decided against it. This afternoon, having already conquered this particular trail on two wheels early in the day...well...maybe not 'conquered' but did not come off spectacularly or lose any skin, I returned with the dog again on foot to retrieve this one. Great views - certainly well worth both visits today!
When I was a novice cacher, I spent a good deal of time sitting on top of this cache, waiting for all the cyclists to disappear. Knew where it was but ran out of time but logged it anycase. My signature is now in the log-book, my conscience is clear, got sleeted on and took the TB!
Found with Lordjimbob55 as we were checking out track number 2. Great views back to Canberra.
Dropped in a TB.
