I had come to this area here seeking the final for a cool looking wherigo cache and quiet literally stumbled across this cache hide while rummaging around. Seeing as I found the physical cache I believe I can log it etc, cheers
Spent nearly 45 min here trying to find any signs, got two for sure, but half of them are inside and others idk if they are the right ones. Took a bunch of notes and pics but I'm really not sure what to make of them so will keep this on the back burner for now until I either figure the math out, do some extra research, or ask the CO haha
I had picked up some of this information months ago but couldn't complete it all as part of it was under construction and fenced off. I was back in the area today with Jag50 and Aiden29 so we decided to see if we could knock this one off. The sign for St Mary's has now gone but we could make a guess at what those numbers were and after a short walk we had all the other information.
Despite a thorough search we couldn't find the cache so will watch this one

In the area picking up our daily cache accross the road. Had a bit of time to kill so thought about giving this a go. Found 3 out of the 4 virtual waypoints. Could not find St Mary's. Made an educated guess at what these numbers would be and this seemed to put a likely spot. Intersting walk through an area I have never been before which fitted with the finals location. Unfortunately the GPS ended up putting me in someones backyard. Not sure where I have gone wrong. Will need to revisit.
Last cache for today, we came past a little earlier in the day, and unsurprisingly for a Sunday it was very busy - came back and much quieter for walking around. Found two of the clues quite easily and then one with much more difficulty - we weren't able to get close up to it and it was partly concealed but with a bit of luck and some squinting we were able to get the information that we needed. Sadly we couldn't find one of the clues but it wasn't difficult to work out a good set of coordinates from the information we did have so we took a chance and walked over for a look.
Geocaching off the phone today and I was regretting not having the GPSr with us as the phone was going haywire trying to work out where to place us. In the end we relied on the geosenses to think about where it could be and expanded out the search radius. Took about 20 minutes but in the end managed to finally find the cache. Logbook was a bit damp and the plastic bag has had its day so we replaced the ziplock bag and signed the log. Hopefully that helps keep it dry. Thanks for placing this cache and giving us a chance to take a walk around the cathedral precinct.

Stopped here today on our hop on hop off tour and we are glad that we did. What a beautiful church on the inside. Took us a bit on the clues but finally figured them out and made the walk over to the final. Stopped for lunch right across the street and then made our way down to another quick cache at the chocolate store. Our 2nd day of a 22 day journey through New Zealand and Australia.

What a cool little adventure we had today doing this field puzzle! Admired the artwork we found around the churches while looking for clues and enjoyed having look around inside both beautiful buildings. Added bonus that we met a fellow cacher who works there (nice to meet you, am sure we'll see you around . Searched for several minutes at final location and managed to sign log on back page - the rest were wet and stuck together. Spent several more minutes being entertained by cheeky local fantails - they were quite curious about us and flew right up to us, one actually landed on Mrs B's head. FP well deserved for this fun and interesting cache TFTC!
Have a set of coordinates since I moved to Parnell, which is quite a long time ago. With the construction going on, I put this onto the waitlist. Saw some finds recently and contacted LGLNZ to help me with the last missing bit. He verified that I only had one digit incorrect and with an additional hint from him, I ventured out today. Even with the hint, it took me a while at GZ to make the find. The paper is wet and needs replacement. Glad to have my home area cleaned out after such a long time . TFTC
This cache has taken some finding - visited the cathedral a while ago and was able to find all points except AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM. Sought advice from CO regards location of this plaque and the work being carried out on the site - no feedback from CO, however I was able to check my workings with tmann421 - thanks for that tmann421.
GPSr was all over the place under the canopy and GZ found to be a bit overgrown in parts which covers the cache well. After a spell of metrical searching the cache was found. Log is damp and beginning to fall apart. TNLNSL - TFTC.

So, first I found ST MARY'S. Easy enough. Went a bit further, found FIRST LAID. Then, I was stopped by a construction fence at one side of the Cathedral. OK, nevermind, I'll just go back and hope that I missed the two others before.
Indeed, I found "AMDG - Cross on the ridge", only after another AMDG that I didn't need.
I went all around again, until dead-ended by the construction site from either of sides.
What now? Is AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM somewhere in the construction zone? Then I spotted a stone just behind the fence, sneaked inside, but the stone didn't have any plaques on or aside of it.
I gathered what I had and made a square of possible coordinates. No good, with the middle digits unknown, each facet of the square was still ~120m, so 14400m² to comb through. Without a hint - no way.
Then I gave up and went to the library to use the public computers when an idea struck me - I should try to google the values. And I succeeded, I'm pretty sure about it.
Put in the missing digits, got a plausible spot went to look for the cache. Nada. Even with the precise coords I couldn't find it. Maybe I'll have to go back someday, double check the values and try to search again. Although the spot I have now, really looks quite probable (judging by the map).

Nice to be the first finders for well over a year, was a fairly tough find for us today!
Container a bit damp inside, plastic bag with holes and log a bit rough but could still leave our mark ok

Spend as long admiring the cathedral and the beautiful stained glass windows as we did searching for the clues for this one. Despite our best efforts in going round the cathedral grounds three times, we still only found two of the required clue sites. After a fall near the building site entrance we called it quits and went to the panetteria across the road! Maybe another time to admire the cathedral again too!!!)
Found tonight before work with lokky1. Ended up being quite a challenge with one of the elements for a crucial coordinate, able to be interpreted in different ways...perhaps I was just trying to 'Over Think' challenge initially, and I needed a 'Simpler Mind' to look for the easiest answer; thanks Andy!!!
Once correct coordinates were calculated, still ended up quite away from G.Z....GPS signal in ****** **, but a wider search eventually found cache due to good old 'Crashing About'. Great Camo too...
An interesting challenge, and thanks for mental and physical work out.
cheers V.

second time looking for this as somebody *voshed* had made an error with the final workings and put us in the wrong place, so yesterday went to work out again and i came up with a different coord so today we went for a look before work and came with the hide, thanks for the challenge (for some) easy i say, gps jumps around a bit under the canopy, tftc
Another one with mike-miss that we'd both been sitting on for a while without actually collecting. Being in the area meant that we gave it a go, and it was a good fun puzzle to figure out. Some of the waypoints fell quickly, and others took a bit more looking but we ended up with some likely coordinates and went off in search of the cache.
GZ seemed likely though nothing stood out initially. In the end I just followed the GPS after I caught a glimpse of something likely in that direction and the cache was in hand soon after.
Nice one to complete, TFTC

Headed out after the flashmob with evilno9 for a couple of caches. We'd both been meaning to do this one for awhile so this one was on the list to complete.
Collected up all the required info after spending a few minutes trying to spot "AMDG - Cross on the ridge". Once we had the final coords, we headed over to GZ. GPS was bouncing around abit but evilno9 made the find after we spent a few minutes walking around in circles. An enjoyable cache and final located in a pleasant spot, TFTC!

I first attempted this 2 years ago, but I had made a mistake in gathering the clues. Finally I was back in Auckland and this time I had the right answer. I really enjoyed gathering all the clues. Some years ago I lived nearby, but had never stopped here. Thanks for the wonderful history lesson on this magnificent place. This deserves a Favourite point from me
This one took far too long solve! The simple reason is that it took a number of different visits to collect the required information. However I misinterpreted one of the numbers which meant that I started searching for the cache at the wrong GZ (a number of different times). After rethinking my approach, I decided to return back and revalidate my numbers. This time I find my stupid mistake and soon had the correct location.
It wasn't then until today that I was driving past that I decided to quickly swing past and collect this cache. However approaching the (correct) GZ, I realised that this was going to be a lot harder than expected - Especially since it hadn't been found for a year. Fortunately after 5 minutes, I zoned in on the clever hide and soon had the log book signed. All in all very enjoyable cache! (Just a pity about the mosquitos that were eating me alive!)

Managed all the data collection and on-the-ground work, got to GZ according to my workings and we were unable to locate the cache.

Stopped and had a walk around to get the answers today. Missed "AMDG - Cross on the ridge" the first time round but wandered back to an area I'd passed where I had a hunch it would be.
Interesting to see the labyrinth maze there. I lived at the top of St Georges Bay Road for about four years and walked past the cathedral many times to get to and from work and had no idea it was there, although I see it's not on Google Maps Street View so it actually looks like it's actually a recent development.
Worked out the final coordinates in the field and proceeded to GZ. Just as I was thinking I'd be in for a bit of a search I turned around and spotted the cache's hiding place.
Thanks!

Needed a puzzle solve to finish off the day, this one was perfect. Started along quite nicely with sign identification, but were puzzled by one plaque mix-up. An extra loop around the building and we had all the information in hand. My legs were not happy with the approach to the final, but a relatively quick and happy find. The last one of the day

Visited Parnell with WelshGirl77 to have some lunch and thought we'd take the opportunity to grab a cache or two. Solving the puzzle in less than 15 minutes and we then strolled to GZ. The actual cache was quickly locate and we then made a hasty exit to escape the mozzies.

I visited this beautiful church a while ago and solved the puzzle with no difficulty. Finding the cache on the other hand had me hunting for a bit. No joy on my first visit. I dropped by today to have a go with my new Garmin and it took me right there. It really does make a difference as compared to the iPhone. On my first search I couldn't get better than 10m accuracy. This time around I had 5m accuracy and nearly perfect guidance. In any case, I had a thoroughly enjoyable time solving this one. TFTC
Was here attending a wedding, couldn't fit the gps in my evening handbag, but did manage to have a printout and pen squashed in there, so before and after the nuptials could teeter around finding out the info, not really the best footwear for caching... hehe, lol.., Collected the rest of info this morning and headed off to GZ. Quick find, good hide. Thanks for the info about the area, very interesting. SL. TFTC.
Nice walk around the grounds gathering the info. For once the maths was done right first time so off to the final. A bit of fluffing around at GZ but got there in the end. TFTC and the puzzle.
With a gap in my work schedule yesterday I headed out this way on the bus to finish off a certain trig based multi. Knowing that I would catch the bus back to work near here, I printed off the cache info just in case I had some spare time.
Turns out that I did and I was soon spotting virtual WPs of interest--in the rain. Even spotted the first before I had got the info-sheet ready. Made quick work of finding the information and quickly performed the stipulated calculations. A shortish walk had me close to GZ and with the GPS behaving its self in the conditions I soon spotted a place that I was certain would contain a spice jar. It did do!
A nice easy solve and find in the end. What was not so easy was the walk/jog into Newmarket to catch another bus when the Link I was waiting for was cancelled![:(!] Cheers for the puzzle and the cache!

A straightforward solution to the questions and a quick find for the cache in another of Auckland's pleasant little spots. Beware of the cloud of killer mosquitoes that is waiting to descend upon you as you sign the log Signed log, TFTC and got out of there as fast as possible!
We tried this one some time ago and could figure out one of the glues. This time we decided to give it a go again and we were surprised that some of the glues changed. We found all hints and went to the final coordinates. After some minutes we could find it and many mosquitos too. Anyway TFTC
We fluked this big time as incorrectly identified a plague. However, will take the smiley. TFTC
Took the opportunity to complete the required tasks on a Saturday when few people were around. Another spot we hadn't seen close up before and we enjoyed reading the history. Found the required information and made our way to GZ where we soon had the cache in hand T4TC.
Completed this multi (?) and headed off to an unlikely GZ. Fortunately we quickly found the cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

This little puzzle was enjoyable to solve as we drove around the area and gathered the required information.
We had some doubts about where we ended up though and it was with some relief that the cache
revealed itself in the only likely hiding spot.

I decided to do this cache on the spur of the moment, quickly jotted down the questions over breakfast and added it to the mornings itinerary. So glad I did, thoroughly enjoyed doing it despite missing one of the locations even after walking past it twice. Quick find at GZ which was most satisfying. SL TFTC
2099 What an awesome cathedral, such a wonderful place to visit. Thank you YuGeo4 for bringing us to such a great spot with an enjoyable puzzle thrown in. TFTPC
Found with davedeve - nice walk after finding the answers to all of the clues. A good excuse to read all of the plaques! TFTC.
Found at about 3pm with my mum - easy spot and not covered with leaves. Davedeve wonders what tree was there. My travel Bug too small - will try elsewhere.
Nice temple. Collected the clues with some help from the local staff. Then on to GZ. That far. I was surprised. Wow. Who finds a place like this. Found the cache in the end. I had inspected most places though.
Delightful cache, and a beautiful church which we saw from the inside. We met two of the "flower girls", who were our ages (60+), and had a good time in general. For once we did all the entries correctly and found the cache right off. TFTC
Had a great time doing this cache, and loved the cathedral and its architecture and stained glass.
Found the required info OK. I must make an effort to read the cache pages properly, this would save a lot of time and aggravation when working out the answers. Final cords worked out and quick find made. Thanks.
Found the required info at the Church and headed back to the car and off to the final. GPS struggled with the tree cover and could not lock in a GZ. Was just about to call it quits when our 4 year old said "This would be a good place for a cache" and there it was. TFTC
Well there we were, the father the son (not sure about the holy ghost?) not to mention mother and daughter with all the info in hand. Off to the final and found with the GPS all over the place but those instincts led us to the right place. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
We were here the other night for a school event and picked up a couple of the clues then finished it off today in the morning sunshine. A nice multi with a lovely feeling walking around the different parts of the church. Did get hung up on one of the clues but not for long! TFTC

Found on second visit, much easier by daylight! loads of bugs in the undergrowth and a strange smell, but worth it in the end! Really enjoyed the puzzle, thanks!
our 72nd find - but we started back in July - got the co-ords but the GPS was off in the rain. It was slightly easier today. The massive spider had been scared off by the earlier finders... TFTC

Interesting to have the excuse to explore around the Holy Trinity. We remember when St Mary's was moved across the road from its original site - such a huge building to move! Been to a couple of funerals at the cathedral, and Mark's godfather used to be the organist here.
Circumnavigated the buildings, and eventually found all the information required for the Final. Had to dodge a helpful muggle who offered to show us around inside. But it was getting dark by this time and we were keen to get on and make the find. Got there by torchlight shortly after dark.
Thanks for this, our 70th puzzle cache, and our 450th find!

We had a lot of fun doing this one, we were realy hoping to be the first to find the cache. We opened the container sort of like Charlie looking for the golden ticket only to find someone had betten us by an hour.
Yay! FTF! Was really surprised after getting up late this morning (9.50 am)to still find this unclaimed. Thought the locals might have nabbed this one.
Anyway, had a nice stroll around with the family. Never really looked closely at this site before.
Got the numbers and trotted off to GZ. Getting really worried now as GPS batteries fading fast. Seems I had packed two sets of flat NiMhs in the pack. Thought I would have to resort to GPS in the phone but they had enough guts to carry us through.
