I believe this one should be archived due to the following reasons:
- no finds since October last year (and those were logged by two "new" cachers), the previous find to these was back in March last year...10 DNFs in that time...
- no owner check logged in that time
- internal damage to the tree I believe is caused by the search for the cache (possibly from unlogged DNFs?) - this is a cool tree and doesn't deserve this treatment.

Looked for about 20 minutes for this high muggle area cache. No luck here.

Couldn't find this one. Found a flute but after looking around everywhere and immersed myself in the hole I had no luck. Great history.
Spent a bit of time looking for this one but all we could find was a toy plastic flute.
found our 2nd cache. dont 2 give up hope. hint its not magnetic anymore and it helps if u have a torch.
Ha ha as the other geo family will post. small child came in handy . great history. Great find. muggles were chilled eating lunch with 11 geo family members scampering in and out and around looking 4 this cache don't give up.
After having a good search of GZ neither allrounder nor I were able to make the find.
Will keep an eye on this one and see if its found or replaced by the next trip to the coast.

hccatcher11415 and I had a good search for this one, using torches to look in all the nooks and crannies, is it still there??
Thanks for bringing us here Derf10 even if we didn't find it!

Neither our telstra or optus phones had reception here so were not able to access the geocaching site.. will go back with a printed map next time.
On the way home after a lovely weekend down the coast, thought we might grab this on the way though...
Luckily hardly any muggles were around, so we could have a good search..
However, after 15mins and using the clue, couldn't locate it...
May need to be checked..

Was just getting into looking for this one when a boat load of senior citizen rocked up and yes you guessed it, they headed straight for GZ.. I played tourist for a while but they weren't going anywhere in a hurry, so in the end I packed up and left.. Will try next time I get this way...
Thanks derf10 for the cache..

Since we are not campers we asked some friends to drop off the travel bug we picked up a while ago. They picked this cache to put it in. So thanks dgbouwat for doing that. Hopefully it will be picked up and moved on soon.
Found on a caching run with ACBC 66 and fitzy_1965.

Out finding some "treasures" with Fitzy and the geokid (Awesome L).
We've tried this one before and just couldn't manage it with the muggle factor, but today we were lucky.
Maybe the light rain was keeping them away.
Fitzy came up with the goods before I could bat an eyelid!

Yep it's still here - the mobile phone torch light helped. Here's a hint - it's not magnetic anymore.
Thanks for the history - I loved the old bits of metal sticking out the tree, I wonder if that's what killed the tree? M

Did niot find this time. See that we are not the only ones. Will keep an eye on the log and maybe pick up on the next run down the coast.
There's only one spot that this one could be in and it's not there. This spot is a little visible so maybe has been muggled. Or maybe we are just a bit blind and couldn't see it anyway....................
I spied GZ, that is as I drove over the bridge but with traffic bumper to bumper I chose to keep going. Maybe next time.
Second time lucky. Last time there were SO many muggles. Interesting history behind this.

Interesting find in a cool spot. Did it after hours so was quite easy to find.
Wow didn't see there were so many DNF's!

Having seen the previous logs I wasn't expecting this to be here, but we were visiting anyway (boat trip from Batemans Bay, very touristy but extremely relaxing!).
A nice spot for a quick leg stretch in the fading light this evening before heading further north. Unfortunately there was no sign of the cache.
It's comforting at least to read where it's gone in the logs. Wish we'd read them BEFORE we looked for it though.
The log and the container seem to have parted ways. This one will need some love and repairs.
I found the log, but no container. I tried to locate a container to place the log into, but failed. At least my name is on the log, and therefore I will claim the find.

Quick and nice one at picknick break in Nelligen. Just scared of the beasts in that hole. Together with lady_YY. The Arkaroo.
After all our delays on the Mountain, ended up going past this cache during daylight. No details with me, but looked where I expected it to be from our unsuccessful visit a year ago, and lo and behold there it was. TFTC.
Found it, or rather just the container. It was hanging in clear view and empty. Quickly checked the vacinity but no log to be found.
Good hide!! Learnt some very interesting facts about the area while stopping here to find the cache.
Cool cache ! as we were signing the log a car load of kidmuggles showed up to use the nearby little house ! could do nothing, busted, doh they continued on as we drove around to make sure. i hope no harm is to come of it.
Thanx for something a little different ! well done

Pulled into Nelligan on the way to Batemans Bay, had to wait for a group of muggles to move on before my wife and son located the cache. Great location and nice hide
Found it. Its still sitting on the fridge waiting to be replaced. Not a proper find but do i get half marks? Forgot to fill in the log. Told the old man to replace it so I can go hunting.

Search everywhere included the torch, mirror, ladder - still couldn't find the cache. Thanks
Interesting tree and kiln! Didn't manage to find the cache, and found where we thought it would have been mounted. Cheers Gav
Its still there .As a result of so many DNF logs I have changed the Difficulty to 3
A great spot to stop an stretch the legs
Early morning with a chill still in the air I wandered across the bridge taking in the scenic surrounds as I strolled.
At the other end I wandered into the almost deserted park and found GZ.
But after an extensive search all I found was the attatchment point for the cache
I dug around in there for a goodly 5 minutes or more to no avail..
But thanks for the exercise and views.

I think this 1 is gone; owner will need to check on this 1.
Well we were muggled by the pleasure cruise that went through the bay bridge cache when we were looking for that 1. got to GZ had a good look but was muggled out of area.

Didn't find it. We had a whole group of friend toy hunters but still couldn't find it. We tried twice over the weekend. Maybe it's fallen down again as mentioned in a previous log or it might have been muggled? Still had a great time looking though.
Found this hide while camping over Australia Day. Great day, great spot, great hide.

Didn't find, I am sure I found where it had been, but may have fallen when rubbish fell on it. May need to be checked. Good posi though.
A really nice spot to stop, spent quite a bit of time walking around the small town, Also some interesting history. Not something the town is probably wanting to be know for.
A nice hide too.
Thanks, Robmc.

Time for a Mea Culpa: I found this cache in November '09 with TraineeDiplomat and Aboreham but neglected to log it online at the time.
While the details of the day are now mostly lost to memory, it was an great day with many excellent caches.

Again, apologies for the lateness of the log.

Was on a solo drive back from the coast today, so thought I would pick up a few along the Kings Highway on the way. This one has been calling to me for a while, so I thought I would have a look.
Soon made the find and got back on the road.

610. A nice quick find as we had the sun on our side and could see the cache so didn't have to feel around for it. Amazing piece of history and am pleased it has been recognised and the tree kept. There are an awful lot of nails and other metal bits and pieces stuck all around this tree, if only it could talk! Log was a bit damp so dried it in the sun for a bit before returning cache. Thanks for a lovely stop along the highway and for the story. TFTC
Found 09:20, a nice piece of history, and a nice location.

I was there and my senses were tingling but, too many muggles to make a safe grab. 6 foot arms would also be handy

Found on a leisurely drive down the coast. Had a McGyver moment and used jacket sleeve to retrieve cache. Ok it was fading light without a torch. SL TFTC.

17:40 Found with ywurry on a leisurely drive down the coast. Nice photos of boats reflecting on the water. The daring ywurry risked limb to retrieve cache that I located (it was getting dark!!!) TNLNSL TFTC.
Janwyn1 and Mrs J found it at 1200hrs nice day with a few muggles having lunch T.N.L.N. T.F.T.C
The last time I was through here I was flying up to the bushfires and wasnt allowed to stop. Great salt n' pepper squid at the nearby shop too.
Great spot for a break and a cache only problem was lots of muggles the river cruise had just got in and people every where. TFTC.
Located this cache in the late afternoon, with the light failing and a gentle rain falling - kept the muggles away. Loved the history lesson and the hide. This is also the first time I had stopped in Nelligen, but it won't be the last. Thanks Derf10 for the cache.

Found on the way home from 3 days on a house boat on the Clyde - highly recommended. Thanks for the cache. TNLNSL

This cache was great. Loved the hide, though it did take me two goes to find it. Admittedly I already knew about the tree and its history, but Nelligen is always a nice spot to stop.
Thanks,
Gwen

Thanks for a nice easy cache, Not many people around at this end of the park today.
Quite a few muggles on patrol but found easily enough - returning it to the proper condition proved a little challenging.
after reading the boards the hunt was on i had to check twice to find the cache
very insightful cache

Wasn't able to retrieve this one today. Tried to find at night on the way back from the coast to Canberra. Had a good LED headlamp and got to GZ very quickly after parking the car. Snooped around for a minute or two and was about to hoan in on particular cavity when I spotted a huntsman about 10cm in diameter sitting just adjacent on the tree. It scared living daylights out of me, and was not game to put my hand inside after that, and indeed had a few cold shivers just going over it in my mind while driving up the Clyde! Will be back another time.
So my advice - watch out for BIG spiders!

Found on the way home from a nice coastal holiday.
Not too many people here today, so we set out looking. It took the second look in the hiding spot to find the cache. Signed the temporary log sheet and replaced. It's great that the remains of this tree have survived so long. It's funny though, you look at how huge it is but there are no other trees of similar size nearby...
Thanks, Jezzza Xtreme.

Muggles around this morning, but with three of us we were able to keep watch and provide some cover for each other - a bit like the Clark brothers perhaps, but no suspicious intentions on our part - aside from finding the cache! This one needs maintenance. We found half the container and left a new note sheet with what we had on us. Thanks for an interesting story.
Liked the yarn - thanks for that.
As per the Winglen note, we found a part of the container but no log so left an improvised one in place. TFTC and the history.

1632. Pooh corner 2 perhaps? That will mislead some (sorry) but the rabbit's hole comes back to mind - Winglen and RexTrex politely not looking while I bend into a hole. (Glad I don't have a mirror on a stick, I may be tempted to look - eurgh)

A nice easy find on the way to the coast for the day! Nicely hidden - love it! Took a little faith to retrieve! Needed the stop to. Thanks for a great cache Derf10!
It scares me what I am willing to do with my hands these days. Found it OK, took ages to squeeze it all back in the container. Thanks.

An easy find but need to be careful of local muggle kids and visiting motorcyclists hanging around. With crystal warrior. SL
Easy find on a wonderful spring day, surprisingly very few muggles around. been a popular cache over the past 3 days.Very interesting history lesson. Thanks
Nice quick find however found the cache below rather than above. It appears the mounting screw for this one has come loose so I hid it as best I could. TFTC.
FF who is following who? we have been in the same area caching several times.... Found this fellow after visiting my dad for fathers day at B'bay.
