We are travelling with Pprass and after a small delay at the hospital in Whyalla for an Xray for Mr Morris we have now arrived in Cleve for a couple of days. So much to see and do here and the weather has been sunny and conducive to getting out and about. Today we headed around town and country towards Cowell for lunch collecting some caches and AdLabs. Thanks for the tour around the area valiantscot

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 10 - Cleve to Port Lincoln via Port Neill and Tumby Bay. My short days continue and I spent a bit of time around Cleve before I got under way. Plenty of roadside caches along the highways. I ventured into Pot Neill, Tumby Bay and Port Louth to check out the villages. As ever I would have loved to have stopped for lunch or dinner in each one, but I stuck to the plan and made it to the caravan park in Port Lincoln. Once I was set up I went and did a few more caches on the edge of town. A couple more Counties today. I'll spend another day here tomorrow before heading North West to th Nullabor over a few days after that.As I drove from Cleve I stopped at many but not all of the roadside caches. They all went smoothly except one. Oh well, can't get them all .. Or so they tell me.Thanks for the cache valiantscot46603.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2021 Community Volunteer Tag A#465**Albida**

Took off to the North West a bit with Purrfect Di to avoid the rains back home.
Turned out this worked quite well as we only had a couple of showers for the whole weekend and saw some great scenery and found the odd cache or two!

We love to see old school buildings as we live in one ourselves. Not much left here Surprised
12 month school perhaps.

Many thanks to valiantscot for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo-map Cool

Travelling around - searching, spotting and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck WinkCoolBig Grin
Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!

*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*

---
Beware! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres Surprised
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]

Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on Wink
Keep your distance - cache the countryside Big Grin

Really fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting Cool

Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Wink Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

After a great free camp night (Rex spent most of the night mousing) we headed off to Arno Bay. More caching along the way and then an afternoon of R&R as the rain came when we got to the campsite.
Had a super camp supper until Rex ran away because he was scared of the champagne bottle pop. Thankfully after searching for him for a hour he slunk back to camp.
Enjoyed our caching today. TFTC

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.

Today leaving Whyalla, we headed down the Lincoln Highway, passing through Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay, Port Neill, and Tumby Bay. Just prior to lunch, we also completed the *Cleve Cleaver* geoart trail. A rather long day of geocaching numbers, but the inland and coastal towns were enjoyable to visit, along with the various picturesque beaches along the way.

An interesting piece of history here, and yeah, sounds like a temporary school setup here during the war, perhaps? A decent sized container, with the cache container and logbook in good shape. We had a little car trouble here, with [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY)'s car's left indicator light randomly staying on? A bit of troubleshooting and removed fuse appeared to fix that problem (along with the loss of capability to indicator left/right, activate hazard lights, and full dashboard display including speed/odometer display). Thanks valiantscot for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Today davidwazza and I made our way from Whyalla to Port Lincoln as part of a weekend away to clean up as much as we could. Today was filled with some good and bad times, plus a few car issues along the way but all in all a great day out and 105 caches found in total.
Thanks for the cache

Thanks for the cache valiantscot!

Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.

Moving today from Cowell, we stopped in Port Gibbon and Arno Bay and unhitched so we cache around the area without the caravan on tow.

Arrived late afternoon in Port Neill and explored the general area before sunset. Nice to see some sunshine and less wind after the last few days. Cool

Hi there valiantscot.

We found your cache **"12 mile school"** at 1:24:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 13828.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the local area today. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we thought that it would be nice to visit Arno Bay to have one of their "arnormous" hamburgers for lunch..

###Thanks for not placing an eclipse tin or a 200ml Sistema here. Once upon a time caches seemed to be "regular" sized, and well stocked with goodies for kids to swap. Nowadays it seems like every other cache is small and devoid anything to induce children to enjoy the hunt. It made us feel really good to find this cache in a "special" place.###

We ended up finding 19 & DNFing 0 caches today. Wink

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape, and it's certainly not small. Big Grin
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Off on a caching adventure with GoodLook on the Easter long weekend!! We had perfect weather and, for the route we were taking, surprisingly little traffic! Our target was the Cleve Cowell area althouth we started way before this. Our biggest challenge was the lack of anything open, apart from roadhouses, on the Friday and Saturday!!
Cache was totally destroyed but luckily I had a largish screw top container so we removed the broken pieces and put the contents in it!!

26-Mar-16
This cache was completely broken, CP replaced the container for you, we put all of the contents into the new vessel.

Found whilst on a fabulous Easter long weekend caching trip with CPwanderer travelling from Adelaide to the Eyre Peninsula.

Today has been filled with much of the same as yesterday - fun, laughter and lots of crazy caching adventures [^] ....as well as flies (that were very friendly and seemed to like riding in the air conditioned car with us), HUGE and hungry ants (ouch!), a large nest of spiky caterpillars, cute little kangaroos and even having a close call with a DEATH ADDER SNAKE - keep in mind I was with CP!! WinkRazzBig Grin

Thanks for the cache valiantscot Smile

Day 1 for the BAM team at the June Long Weekend Event.

The BAM team (brisal5, Aussie M&M, and mogni) arrived overnight, and after a restless night were ready to tackle the JLW Event. Today was the day of working up a strategy by studying the playing field and placing our cache installations. We also managed to fit in some caching.

Mr M always loves a cache that takes him to a ruin. As others signed the log, he had fun looking at all the debris and some interesting rubbish. TFTC valiantscot.
