See now we were the last visitors before its final demise. Shame because a great spot.
First cache for the year!!! The cache has lost one end, I attempted to put it all back and cover it.
Definately needs to be repaired.

This cache is dying......
I could not get a replacement ammo container in time....
I will leave it active because it is still there and operating ok....
But will archive when it is too dead.

I know you are going soon and I see that you have archived some of your caches already so this is not easy.
The ammo container is in very poor condition and the hinge broken. what were you thinking old steel container and salt water not a good combination!!
The contents are ok as the hole is to the bottom when in it's hiding hole.
You will need to do somthing with it soon.
Sorry to see you going I am doing as many of your caches while they are still around.

Man this cache is really starting to rust away.
Hopefully it will last the year out.
Please be careful, it has a lot of character.
Nice to see an ammo can with something it.
A very nice spot here. Enjoyed the view.

Day two of theheadchef and spikeymikey's excellent adventures to Nelson Bay and damn, Spikeymikey has summed it up in his log, I don't really have much to add, other than the cave we took refuge in wasn't that much drier than outside. If my wife kicks me out I am going to come and live in one of these caves. Took TB
A walk along the track to GZ had us going through 3 seasons.........pelting rain, blustery wind, and then sunshine (for a short while).
After finding the cache, we had to shelter in one of the caves to sign the log. And then it was sunny and still!!
Found one cave with furniture in it!!

Great cache. I was surprised to find a cache quite so large, hidden in this area. The cache seemed quite dry, but I guess the outside takes a pounding in rough seas. I retrieved a TB that has not been noted here (which I will log) and left some goodies.
Found by Mary & David at 1615. A nice walk along the foreshore to do both caches. Many great views down the bat. Noisy parrots in the trees, but nobody else near GZ. Dropped off 'Colonel Kombi Mustard' TB. Yet more thanks to Madstars.
Nice walk in and the GeoKid's loved the fish activity in the water and the caves on the way back. TFTC, TeamAJKW.

Luckily a couple of fishing muggles were just leaving as we arrived at GZ. Quick find, nice spot.

Our very first attempt and found after a short search (once we got the GPS working correctly). Kids loved it and we can't believe we walk past this spot nearly every day! Took nothing & left nothing. Thanks for the experience. Colemans
Nice walk from the other close by Cache. Luckily the Geoeye spotted something amiss with the rocks and found the Cache quickly.

A nice little walk to GZ from the car park, which I found by accident rather than follow the helpful WP! The cache was another beaut ammo tin, which could perhaps do with a spot of WD40 in the near future! On the way back, I exchanged a few words with a local fisherman, who agreed that it was a 'top spot'! TNLNSL TFTC!

I took lots of toys that keep the kids happy and dropped off a few too. thanks for the large container.
Our very first atempt at geo cache was a mixed bag though we found this one after a little look around. Thanks MadStar!!
We both had the day off so we decided to do our own little ‘invasion’ of Port Stephens. Our first full on all day effort. Loved this one, a beautiful and sheltered location, the wind was howling while we were here and it was quite calm at the cache due to the protection of the headland. TFTC. [Cache 96].
8th for the day nice spot had to watch for muggles walking dogs & children TFTC
Pt. Stephens Invasion.2. A bit further along and we found another little headland with more views and a few interesting hide spots. Thanks.

another stroll to stretch the legs, Z was looking longingly at the small caves and cliffs along the path , while Red tag recounted some other excursion where she got someone to carry a ladder into a GZ to retrieve it... great location and always nice to see an ammo box...

BigON took the lead on this one - to the delight and surprise of the wimpier team members who chose a more sedate way down to sea level. Thanks MADSTARS for bringing us around here.
Note to self (and the other McWinTrexON team members!) - really should read the cache description to check whether it recommends a good parking spot. We alighted from the McPhan mobile at the top of the steep sandy slope. BigON embarked two steps down the slope, then slid the next five or more metres while the rest of us held our breath, then advised we would drive around the long way and meet him. Thanks MADSTARS.
I was a bit of a girl at this one and picked a path to the cache that left my legs in somewhat of a more ladylike state. Ended up going back with the others so it wasnt worth the effort in the end
Very scenic looking out into the channel

Found as part of Team McWinTrexOn, easy and quick access to the GZ care of a little sand surfing the first 8 to 12 meters, Yeah OK the whole way down in one easy lesson (and stayed on my feet the whole way, beat that)... easy pezzy. Got to the bottom (natch) looked up and holy sheet did I just do that!! the rest of the team showed more sense and walked around from other caches, I had this one ready by the time they joined me, at least I only had to walk one way.

Oh well - the hill wasn't that steep & I was the quickest back up again which was a wonder. It always pays to follow the route of someone else though, so they can clear away the spider webs for you! TFTC.
Found as part of the Canberra Invasion to Newcastle/Nelsons Bay/Port Stephens and surrounding areas with Tealby, Tankengine, Redtag, Zytheran, Mtrax and Albida. This was day two and it was going to be a long one..........

2138. Threw our cache retrieval tool down the hill at this one. It was a very impressive sight to see BigON surfing down this steep slope. RexTrex, Winglen and I then found a less adventurous way in to meet up with him.

Another beautiful spot you have taken us to Madstars - thank you. It was handy to have the co-ordinates for the parking spot otherwise I think we may have ended up falling down the cliff which could have resulted in lots of "Pebbles and Bamm Bamm"! Found the cache fairly easily. Took a Scratchie and left a Friendship Bag. Dropped off Beer TB, signed log. TFTC

Walked around from the previous cache, and quickly found this one. Love the way it is rusting to blend in with the colour of the rocks Cheers Gav [4124]

Well after replacing this cache with a nice big Ammo container filled with wonderful swaps ranging from DVDs, CDs and toys for the kids we had a mishap with the next cacher.
The URBANCACHEPIRATES swiped all the swaps for their own caches. Didnt know caching worked that way, especially after spending a few bucks filling it myself.
Anyhow I went a spent a few more bucks and filled it again... Third time in its life....
Hopefully they will not return.
Enjoy the cache everyone... except PIRATES>

Not only did I find it but I replaced the cache for Madstars with an ammo box he as the current cache was damaged. I had to excavate quite a bit out to allow the updated cache to fit. Geo Teens didn't want to help at this point as they may brake a nail...

There was a family group that was fishing off the rocks. After finding the cache we passed them on the way back and they had just pulled in a small dog shark. Lovely views along here. TNLNSL
great walk around this track, very relaxing although I broke the cache
tracked with the GPS, I stood on a rock and said 'its around here somewhere, start looking' took a step to the side and heard a crunch...'oh no, hope that wasnt the cache'.
my daughter looked under and sure enough it was...sorry, the lid cracked.

When we 1st arrived here we came to a high up location above the GZ for the cache. Not wanting to bash to it from here we found the recommended parking and legged it from there, noticed huge piles of seaweed on the shore before we arrived at GZ then we continued on after a short search I spotted it, but was still some rock hopping away so the Geoboy did the honours, after we made it back to stable land the cache logging was started. We dropped off a TB here to help it on it's way, Geomrs stumbled on unstable rocks and took gouges out of her left shin and foot, she somehow made it back to the picnic area were we proceeded to first aid her. All cleaned up and here war wounds dressed some lunch was had! Thanks for the cache shame about the sharp unsettled rocks, future cachers watch your step!
We were really looking forward to fish and chips on the beach and on coming across Salties at the local shops, made our purchase and headed off to this hide...sat and enjoyed lunch and the views then made our find...T Tronaminer and Goofy TB

Great cache done as a family today. We parked nearby and took the kids in to find the GZ. My little boy liked the "treasure box" and I guess more the contents as both the kids were taking long periods of time to investigate.

Yipee #500 and what a great cache. Took a bit to find the track and found I could have parked closer. Beautiful night for a walk with a gentle breeze and 24°C. Left the Mojo coin to continue its travels. Thanks Madstars
Another great location with brilliant views. Drove along the top road and saw how steep the hill was, read the description and located the "secret" parking area. (The Rats must be keen to come in from the top.) Enjoyed a pleasant walk along the foreshore, past a fishing muggle, at least he wasn't too close to GZ, and located the cache quickly.
Thanks again Madstars.
