While tidying up the muggled remains found geocaon Naughty and Nice. Will move it on.
Have archived this one following recent muggling as well as availability of nearby Earth Cache at same site. Thanks to those who made the effort to find this one. CoomaClan
Found with Roadie1212. Unfortunately it has been trashed, found both parts of the container but nothing else, placed it where we thought it most likely came from.
Thanks
Thanks
Went there and found a place I didn't know about even though I'd been in Comma for nearly 20 years. I could see where I suspect the cache could be but due to health problems I couldn't climb up to it. Regardless I'll be back when I feel better as this is an amazing place hidden just around the corner from my home.
Took a little bit for us to find but got there in the end. Kids enjoyed looking at the nearby bolts and climbing all over the rocks.
A quick check on condition - all OK. Site has recently had some additional info boards placed in the vicinity. Cooma Clan
Left after doing the earth cache only to realise I had this little one to do whilst I was here, Thanks for the cache nice spot.
Well, this was a bonus! Having just completed the Earthcache and selecting nearest geocache, it told me I had arrived ! Whooooot ! Ohhhhhh, it meant rock clambering, oh well, at this altitude I'm not too bad though a bee kept on wanting to taste my nectar. Reasonably quick find, admired the view and was on my way !
On a caching trip out of Bendigo to take in Earthcache I, this is one of many found on my trip. I found this a very interesting cache and site. TFTC
Finding the way into this gorge could be the hardest part of the cache
Fortunately I had found a map that pointed the way near a plane wreck [:o]
So I wandered off along the path....
Crikey!! This place is well hidden
If you can find it, then it is well worth all the effort
I found the bolts in question and tried to pull a couple out.
An act that can be performed by only the true king [:o)]
The bolts held tight.
A bit of a scramble later and I did manage to pull a cache out of the stone
I continued my stroll up to the lookout.
The trail is not well used and kept disappearing into the scrub.
A fun stroll in the rain [^]

Nice easy find and a great cache. Took Geocoin. Thanks to CoomaClan for the cache.
Nice easy find and a great cache. Took Geocoin. Thanks to CoomaClan for the cache.
On my last trip through Cooma I could figure out the right approach to this one. This time I found the track. TFTC.
A days worth of Flying Cooma Cache runs with BatGirl&Co. This one was interesting in that we came from the wrong side. We weren't killed by savage wombats pushing rocks on us, or by the nasty flock of ducks that looked rather viscious. The Frogs were calling the amphibious army out, but we made it up and down without too much trouble. I dropped off Darky, the lamb. He's sure to get somewhere from here.
Loved it, loved it, loved it. A great walk in, a fun scramble down, up, over and around. Thoroughly enjoyable. TFTC.
Great little history lesson, and not a bad little walk, although it had been raining and kept looking like it might start again any minute. I went to see the gorge as well. Very interesting! Thanks for bringing us here.
ut on a maintenance run down south so thought we might try and bolt some rocks. A quick find to SL and we took some time out to enjoy the sights. Thanks for bringing us here.
What an adventurous and historical .location and have been coming to Cooma for years and didn't know Lambie George existed.
13th of 13 of our Merimbula trip. Pretty easy. Nice walk and area. Cool container and hiding spot. Took TB in exchange for a green turtle. TFTC.
Rock hopped, good spot, never heard about it before. But we will read directions more closely in future to avoid rock hopping and bushes.
Great way to start a Sunday morning. Nice walk out here this morning to drop off Coogie TB to help him on his way to Melbourne. Very interesting little place. It's always good to learn something before breakfast!

A beautiful warm sunny day, excellent company, and a stack of caches to collect. Couldn't ask for more. We picked up over 30 GC and GCA caches on our comfortable run from Canberra to Cooma. Thanks to all.
This GZ was the highlight of our day. What a fantastic rocky area and some real history to showcase. Really enjoyed the visit thanks.

A beautiful sunny warm Spring day - a good day for a numbers run to Cooma for lunch.
What a magnificent place - I absolutely love BIG GRANITE ROCKS and gorges! This place has cultural significance for me as a rock squirrel. The highlight of the day and thanks for showcasing it.
Perhaps you could put another cache in further....

Lo\ved the engineering bent on this one as I occasionally work in coal mines where these are used every square meter. Thanks
Reperio at 1120. Parked about 200m from GZ and came in from the top to scramble down and across the many rocks scattered about to locate the cache. I bet many a kid would love climbing about this area, because I enjoyed it.

Wow beauty area and interesting about history. Thanks for show me. SL. CoomaClan
Having cached yesterday, I then spent the night in Cooma. The plan was to find this cache then go up Mt Kosciusko. Decided instead to take a good tumble, make a couple of spiral fractures in my foot, then have to drive back to Tumut. Still, managed to limp to this one before I left. This is being logged four weeks late and I am due to have the plaster off next week. Yippee!! Great cache and met a very nice local who walked with me to the cache site. TFTH
I LOVED this cache! It's really fascinating to see this history and we were so luck to meet a few of the locals. Michael the local "bubble man" was busy flying his kite today rather than blowing huge bubbles and his friend gave us a copy of the Rock Bolting booklet written for the 60th anniversary of the start of the Snowy scheme. What an amazing story!
Had fun scrambling around in the rocks. The difficult part was finding the access point. Thanks!
Found with the team of Moneydork, Rediguana, Tofska, and Pohutukawa as we made our way to Wagga Wagga for the Mega event.
Really interesting, enjoyed the visit to this one.

Took a bit to find this one in the gully with so many hiding spots, but ADV came up with the goods. Cheers Gav [5222]
The second cache for the day that we took the scnic rout to only to find the right way the second try ! to easy in the end ! really like spots such as ! thanx for the cache and a bit of history, well done
Bit of an incident on the way over to this one, there was a lot of newly laid tar and road 'metal' on the streets and I must have picked up a bit. By the time I got to the 'club' my front passenger wheel was screaming like a grinding wheel on sheet metal. I spent 15 -20 minutes poking and proding around the wheel trying to find the obviously stuck rock that was causing all the noise with no joy. Took a break to clear my head by finding the cache that turned out to be an easy find but was heavily guarded by large biting ants that got all over me while I leaned on the tree, that made for an interesting! couple of minutes wacking the little buggers off me and still scored a few bites to my arms and hands. Walked around the other side and carefully finished logging and returning the cache. Walked back to the car really pissed off and booted the tire very hard a couple of times, no noise or any problems after that. See you just have to use plan B (BOOT THE BUGGER)
TFTC I hope future finders have an easier time of it.
P.S. mind the ants near the cache.

First sought from Princess St then moved to the bowling club for much easier access. This has become my favorite Cooma cache, as I love engineering feats and the science behind them. Good stuff. Thanks.
Suspect we attacked this from the wrong side. Parked south of the cache and walked down the hill to an easy find. TNLNSL.
I did a rock bolter to this.
With Mrs GUIO and miss 2.5yrs very hungry in the car and a light drizzel, I went for a jog.
Interesting container I had not seen this type before.
Lucky for me the GPS actually worked and led me straight to it otherwise it might have been a nightmare.

Tftc. nice little spot. never new it was there. to get there park behind the bowling club and you can walk or if you went to find the southern cloud cache take a short cut through the showground past the horse stables. dropped off geocoin
Neither my Nuvi nor my handheld could workout how to get me to GZ. At one stage I entered a huge undercover carpark via a rough track - the burgular's way of entering a motel. Moved on after then driving into a nursing home. The Nuvi had a terrible time in Cooma - it sent me into Chapman St no matter what cache I was looking for. Just used common sense & guess work based on the handheld's directional arrow.
Had fun and games getting close to the starting point
but then a quick and easy find using good hints.

Like Jusojara, I am also familiar with rock bolts, having placed a few while working underground in Broken Hill in a past life. I had no idea of the history behind the technique until now, it was just something I took for granted at the time. We managed to find the closest approach, driving up to within 50m of GZ, and it was a relatively simple find once at GZ. Thanks for the cache and the history lesson CoomClan

1245 Took a couple of attempts to find the way into this cache. By that time we had dried from our skiing over the last week. Not quite the type of bolts I'm used to putting into cliff faces for rockclimbing, but interesting to see their work.
Left a black pen (one there was a dud), and stretchy snake.
Took: the dud pen - somebodies plumbing service.
Brought through for mileage: Baa, Oink, B2B, GBOT, Mushoo TB and MMoccasin TB.

Ra had a last minute job in Cooma tonight and as she doesn't like driving at night asked me to drive her and this was my fourth find for the night. I initially was going to leave this one for a daylight trip when I parked some distance from GZ.
After completing a nearby I decided to try to get closer and managed to park 40m from GZ. Once there I made an easy find. This was a very interesting area that I will return to in the daylight. The last time I saw rock bolting like this was underground in Broken Hill.

I'm not too sure that we parked the Stealth GeoBeast at the best location - it was a bit of a trek to the rock wall at dusk. Still, it was a nice stroll cross-country.
The torch came in handy when finding the cache - Matt found it. However, it was really a bit too late to explore the area.
Thanks CoomaClan - I may come for a better look sometime as it looks an interesting place

Walked and drove around in circles for a while before we got the approach right. Interesting spot TFTC
What an interesting spot! All those holes and poles! And finished before I was born! Great Cache! Thanks.
After an unsuccessful attempt to find this late yesterday afternoon (mainly because we couldn't work out where the gorge walk started from) we came back with more determination this morning. Cheated a bit and drove around the back of the bowling club (not too busy on a Sunday morning) which meant minimal walking and a fairly easy find. TNLN.
Found with Ultra Violet Z, SuperJaz & Bewilderbeest. We had a bit of an adventure finding new places on our way to Tumut. It was lots of fun and good caching.
Sorry, I'm a bit behind on logging my finds.

Found with the Team Bananaphone crew of Little Buds, SuperJaz & Bewilderbeest. We did this on our weekend trip to Tumut, we had great fun.
Sorry, I'm way behind on logging my finds.

We definitely came at this one from the wrong side. It was much harder work than it should have been. Then we had trouble locating the cache. It was starting to look like a DNF when to our relief the cache was spotted.
Another "Team Bananaphone" find with SuperJaz, Ultra Violet Z and Little Buds

I suspect we approached this one from the most difficult direction possible (at least it seemed that way) but found the area quite fascinating. We had a bit of trouble finding the cache and were about to declare it a DNF when Bewilderbeest spotted it. Yay! TFTC

What strange rocks, we decided it was to hot to go to the look out today, so just settled for the well hidden cache - took a while to find. Thank you for the cache.
We decided it was time to finish off the Cooma caches that were popping up. I remember going to the show grounds and visiting the nursing home in Primary school and well... doing everything around this area, but it was a first time for me seeing the area the cache is hidden. Thanks for showing me something new in my home town!

Found at 1725hrs (25mins after beer o'clock, and we were dry) We walked in from the wrong side then explored the area before finally making our way back to a watering location (bottle shop) This is a very interesting place that seems to be in need of a bit of TLC. TNLNSL

Beautiful little spot here. As others have done, initially came in from the wrong side. We were a bit too sore from a previous days hike to try and get across, so went in for lunch and came back from the bowling club side. Bit of a poke around, and then had the cache in had. Found a broken TB that we put back together and took with us. TFTC

An interesting find, exploring the back roads of Cooma, startling a group of people all dressed in white as we zoomed into their (sort of) back yard.
I really appreciated visiting this site for its historic value and the work that had gone into developing good drilling techniques. Thanks CoomaClan for the cache and thanks to Mrs Winglen and McPhan for their great company.

1609. Mrs Winglen had told RexTrex and me about this cache and said that it was a must do, and so it was. Ignoring the multitude of GPSs telling her she was going the wrong way, Mrs WInglen lead us to the proper starting spot and then we were off. A very interesting place and history. It appears our GPSs agreed as they were spinning around not being a great deal of help. All in all a fitting (caching) end to a great weekend with great company - thank you Mrs Winglen and RexTrex.
And of course TFTC CoomaClan and the very interesting site.
