DNF - 5 of us for about 30 minutes rotating rocks in the creek, we couldn't discern anything resembling an X.If the cache was here, it didn't make itself known to us. I hoped they'd be a more logic-based way to reliably find this other than a time sink.
Man, this one is a tough one, no clue to where it is after a long time of looking. Will have to come back to this one latter on
Picked up the cheezel1961 on the way down south.Stopped by this one for an evil hide.Hate rocksTFTC SL
Cheezel1961 and CCCL23 invited me to join them both on a Sunday adventure finding a few caches, sharing some stories and generally having a good old giggle. It has been a fun day.OMFG ROCK OUT - and I can confirm that X really does mark the spot! Thanks once again to CCCL23s determination, if it was up to me I would have been eating lunch in some random cafe TFTC Lead n LaceKeep smiling
Out with CCCL23 and Jolly0 today collecting a few caches around Adelaide Quickly found here today and log stamped..this took soooooo long to findTFTC
Wow what a satisfying find!!Cheezel1961, Jolly0 and I were out on a fun day of caching. This was one of our targets for the day, particularly seeing it hadnt been found for over 12 months. We turned over countless amounts of rocks and just as Cheezel and Jolly called it I found it!!!FP awarded for the challenge!! TFTC!
Today searched with Beaker and could not find despite turning over many rocks. Trying to find something related to the hint, but not today. Will come back and keep searching
Wow. Wow. Wow. Finally! Oh my goodness I'm so happy. I first looked for this one with dad back in 2012 multiple times. I remember each visit we'd spend close to an hour turning rocks over with no luck. I came back in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2021 but still couldn't find it. I must have spent a total of five hours or more poking around here if you add up all my efforts through the years. This evening I came back for my inaugural search, I spent about forty minutes looking and just as I was about to give up, I spotted something unusual upon turning over yet another rock. Words can't describe how satisfying it is to find the unfindable cache. TFTC Lead n' Lace! I can finally tick this one off.
The adventures of Sparkie and Goldy continue, this time with a drive around Hawthorndene, Blackwood and Flagstaff Hill.
We thought we'd have a go... seeing if we could find it.
We set a 20 minute limit of searching given the area and how many places we could look.
Turns out we didn't need that much, finding the cache around the 6 minute mark.
Can't believe it has been over 3 years since it was found by OZGrumpy. That's probably my record for longest unfound since one in Wallaroo...
I'm probably going to get a lot of messages after this...
Very cool to be finding it after that long, we had a celebration at GZ.
We both agreed that the difficulty rating should stay as is.
I loved the theme and location so it gets a favourite from me!
Thanks Lead 'n Lace for this cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2903 on the 10th of April 2023.
I have hosted quite a few CITO's in my time, making huge differences thanks to the people who came along!
Whether you're out finding caches or just taking a stroll somewhere, remember to always be CITO-ing to help maintain our parks and reserves!
**South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!**

Cache was checked two days after disablement and found to be insitue. It is not an easy cache to find hence the rating.

Once again this has been checked and found to be in its location. I note that of the four DNF's two are relatively new and this cache is rated at 4. Possibly it could be 5 since its original placement with grass growth and discolouration of the rocks making it more difficult. I will take advice from other cachers who have found it re the rating.
Perhaps the rating should be taken into account by the reviewers when contemplating Disablement due to DNF's
Cheers,
Lead.

Nice day for a search but after finding what we thought was a clue no cache was found. Tftc anyway. Who knows if it is even there now
From reading logs need to go without a dog and some spare time and perhaps when not so hot. All I coukd think about was snakes lol
Thanks lead and lace for this cache. Really hard. I consider myself lucky here. Took about 8 minutes
Came past this one with Davidwazza a month ago nd after a long search we gave up. Came back with a previous finder tonight and even they didn’t prove to be much help. After about 10 mins of searching I finally found the bastard. Oh so tricky.
Out for the afternoon by myself for a nice walk for a few hours in Belair national park. Collected a few caches along the way. Followed by an evening of some high DT caching trip with Davidwazza and Weredunn4. With the 5 DT loop completed.

A nice late winter evening travelling around with [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and [@weredunn4](http://coord.info/PRC5T5A) targeting a few high D/T caches using our prepared TOTTs where possible. A few Zytheran caches were visited and collected, and even a D4/T3.5 traditional cache was quickly collected. A quick dinner pit stop was also had, and a rather tiring night overall.
After [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and my DNF here about a month ago, we returned with a previous finder in the hope that they could lead us to a quick find. We were joking around to whether they would find the cache less than a minute, or in single digit minutes. However, our over confidence was our downfall, as 5-10 min had passed, with all three of us going through the motions of lifting up rocks to inspect, and then placing right beside us. Sigh, long and time consuming, and I again continued to mutter comments like this was hopeless, and to come back another day with even more geocachers. However right when my despair was starting to overcome me, it was the terrific [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) with the find! Wow, an impressive hide indeed, and I think this place will be burnt into my memory now. Yay, glad to have had this cache find behind me now, thanks Lead 'n Lace
As per my previous log, I travelled to Everest Base Camp (EBC) two years ago, and saw Khumbu Glacier first hand. I certainly had a few elements of altitude sickness, and was determined to get there in one piece, even though I was unwell the few nights prior to travelling to that GZ. It's amazing how much energy the altitude sucks out of you, and for someone that I thought I was rather fit, certainly challenged me. Unfortunately we never made it to the lookout over Mount Everest, Kata Pattar, the next morning following walk to EBC, so I guess we'll need to return at a later date to collect that virtual cache!

A bit of a random night this evening, as I targeted the Deep Dark Ryobi Forest geocache after just recently acquiring the key TB. After that, it was just driving around with [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) finding various caches around Hawthorndene and Blackwood. It was quite unexpected to see the many oldies in this area, and kept getting surprised by their years hidden away. A nice night with about 10 finds in the bank.
I visited Everest Base Camp in mid 2017, and suffered elevation sickness as we got past Gorakshep, but determined to get there. So I can honestly say with my experience, that trying to find this cache was on par with that one. [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I spent 20 min looking here, and even made a call to a previous finder who tried to describe what we were looking for and the search area that we should be focusing on. However the cache alluded us tonight, so we had to leave empty handed. I guess we will be back. Tough indeed.

Found it!! After a quick unsuccessful search yesterday, we decided to try again today. The younger kids got a bit bored after a while, so they played while my 17yo son and I kept looking. Glad to say I beat him to it this time. Loved this one - thanks.
We were standing right at GZ and at what is the most likely location for a hide, but nothing here.
Out on another DNF run with Brisal5, SA Sewer Rats and Blackadder, collecting a milestone for a Starfish and other caches on the way. This one was on the side of the road shouting at owl. Normally she has ignored the shouts, but with 4 sets of eyes, today was the day to finally stop and ,after a reasonable search, make the find.
Out with a Rat, Owl and a Starfish seeking previous DNF's. This one took much longer than it should have. Even with a previous finder, the search area was large. Under this, under that? Eventually the hide was espied by the Rat from afar and the cache zero'ed onto. Retreived and signed it was returned as found. TFTC
FINALLY!
Found it!
After a DNF about in July'16, this one has been burning a hole in my pocket, and considering it was in Dunn reserve, I felt impelled to get it for namesake.
So today, after searching for 1hr 10 mins, I can finally put my name on the log after a total combined search time (July'16 + today) of 2hrs and 5 minutes .
Found about 3m from GZ and the fallen tree hampered searching a little, and pleased to see its not actually a nano.

Turned over many rocks. Gps put me on a log..nothing there..couldnt find x. Will place on my watchlist and come back when it is found
Had a quick look on a walk with the geo-pup, but life's too short to spend time looking for the most pointless of cache hides, among thousands of rocks...
""Sneaky Squeaky" Woz ere" A quick but enjoyable find. From Me To You From SQ72 T.F.T.C
2nd visit here for me. This time I had company who had found it before, so after watching me for a while they lent a hand finding it. Found it after a while, had to move the recent fallen over tree to find it. that cache earns it's d stars.
I admitted I must be crazy to try this one alone, spent more than half hour look around and found nothing.
Was out with 3LG for a spot of caching this afternoon and gee I was thankful that I had them with me for this one. Mrs 3LG pointed me in the right direction and after a little while the X was spotted.
Thanks for the cache Lead 'n Lace.

After we finished caching in Belair National Park with earthlight we grabbed a few as we made our way to Christies beach to have a BBQ with Rod81w and his family. TFTC
Today was out with 3LG and Rod81w who met us in Belair park
After 3 weeks looking after my mother in-law I definately needed the break.
We walked and explored many beautiful areas today.
Many had wild flowers in abundance.
I dreaded looking for this after all the rain we had recently.
Resorted to PAF for hint.
I found 30 caches in total.

3rd times a charm. Searched and searched and searched some more till finally I saw THE X. Glad to finally get this off the nemesis list.
When I arrived at GZ and saw all those rocks my ankles said: "Don't even think about it" The 4Star D rating for me was in just finding the rock with an X on it. I had no clue what kind of X. I guess I was hoping for a neon sign sized X I searched for about 15 mins turning rocks as one does at a location like this [B)] I reckon I kind of got lucky and saw the X and then found myself signing the logbook and doing a small dance of celebration (off the rocks of course lol). To grab this one in under 15mins for my first attempt is what Charlie Sheen would say; "D-Uh! Winning! " So happy to have this one found and not let it become a nemesis cache... phew! The cache and it's log book are in good shape [^] Have a fave point just for the challenge and the evil of hiding a small cache here. Imagine if this one suffered cache-creep [:o] 5 star D for sure lol SL at 13:22 on Sun 21 Aug 2016. TFTC Lead 'n Lace
I had looked for this cache once before with no success and knew how hard it was to find, so today I decided to join the group assault on difficult southern caches and hoped my luck would change.
It sure did, and I was so happy to finally get this one ticked off the list. Ismartis will not need to revisit this glacier again

As one of the most well known rock heap caches in Adelaide, this was the start point for the Rocky Rocks Tour! After a bit of wandering around the rocks someone in the group spotted the right one! Nice to finally cross this one off the list...

In town for the weekend to attend a couple of events on Saturday and Sunday...and to do a few caches as well! There was a group assault organised for some of the "Harder" caches in town. This was the agreed meeting spot and while a couple of the group had found it previously, they couldn't remember were. After a short search, the power of several pairs of eyes soon had the cache in hand...TFTC
This was the start of a long day of caching and fun.
there were a few of the group who had found this one previously, but could not remember where it was.

Joined a motley bunch of cachers for a GCA event targeting what I called ASS caches.
(Annoying Southern Stones)
Several good ASS caches were located, including this one
which has to take the prize for being the most annoying of all.
Only about the fifth visit here, but have brought friends, other cachers, the dog,
even came and had picnic tea here while searching once.
So glad to have it signed off !!!!

Silly me for attempting to
a) trying to find a micro (which I utterly detest)
b) in the dark
c) when my phone would not pick up a sat lock for the entire time I was there
Frustratingly turned over about 300 rocks and wasted 50 minutes of my life. DNF & CBF for this one

O. M. G. 4 years later and we finally find the X !! With some hope after anothers team find this morning we only searched for 5 mins before the find. In comparison to hours wasted in the past.....and in eXactly the same spot..thanks for the great stressful and now joyous hide !!!
Had the opportunity to try this one again as part of a group assault. Luckily for us, ttrogg managed to spot the faint mark of a suspect cache fairly quickly... though he let the rest of us continue to search to see if we could also spot where it was hiding. It was a still a struggle... but once pointed out... what is seen can not be unseen! A fav point for the challenge :c) Glad the finally have a smilie for this one. TFTC Lead 'n Lace!
Last night, while busy celebrating Mrs Aussie M and M's 50th birthday, I received a call from ttrogg about a cache run today to try and find a nemesis cache of mine.
No way I could knock back a chance like this! [^]
Hence ttrogg, Mr Team Scoobster and I headed down and met redRONSO at Khumbu Glacier Revisited for a group search
When ttrogg and I arrived back at his place for muggle partner to pick me up, I had 4 cache finds for the day
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.
I'd last been here twice on 13/10/2015 with other groups, including the 2 FTF finders, and no find eventuated
Twice before that I had been here looking for ages and ages and no find eventuated on those occasions
On those visits, I didn't log a DNF as I was still a relatively new geocacher and felt that not finding the cache said more about my lack of cache finding abilities than about the cache being MIA
Today within moments of arriving, ttrogg said 'I know where it is!' [?]
We all gave him a 'seriously[?]' look and he informed us all that it was 1yard away from where I was standing
It really was.... as we all saw when he pointed the 'X' out to us
That 'X' was almost invisible due to the moss growing over it and disguising it
I am so pleased to now have this cache found! [^]

Thought that lots of eyes might help when there are lots of rocks so with redRONSO already on-site, arrived with locus cache and Team Scoobster for a group effort at getting this on our found lists.
Thanks to significant pointers from a previous finder it wasn't long at all before an "X" was spotted, much to the relief of all present.

Noticed the difficullty rating so was semi-prepared.
Parked on side street and wandered over. Found my GZ much closer to the triangle than the rocks so seemed that co-ords weren't going to be much help
Set a timer for 42 minutes and started.
Firstly tried a methodical approach but eventually changed to intuition/guesswork. But was not to be today, timer announced time to leave so I did.
I'll be back

We stopped and had takeaway at this evil location.
Sadly it got dark before we could see the "x".

Good Look and I met up after work for some night time geocaching as we wanted to have another go at a cache that we had DNFed last night.
This cache was the purpose of our trip - fortunately we found it relatively quickly this time.
We had an awesome evening - thanks for placing the cache for us to find.

Oh my goodness, what a crazy hide! [xx(] Tonight was my second attempt at finding this cache. Last night I flipped over about 50+ rocks I think, and today my back was not happy with me [B)]. So I spoke with a wonderful and helpful geo-buddy (and previous finder) and his assistance pointed me in the right direction where "x" really did mark the spot ....not that you could easily see it!
Out and about with Moneydork on a fun Wednesday night caching jaunt filled with lots of laughter.

Another DNF for me today. With all the rains since October last year (and some of them were torrential), can the CO please confirm that this one is still present, and the hint is still valid?
After a number of DNF's, especially by some who had found it previously, an Owner maintenance trip (short as it is) was required.
All good, cache in position, log book dry and waiting for some logs.

Two visits to this site tonight, in the presence of three other cachers on the first visit, including one of the original first to finders. The second visit we were joined by the other first to find team but none of us could come up with the goods here after some very extensive searching.
Moneydork wanted to go caching and so sushilord, RideTheGeoWalrus and I joined him.
A later start than usual after 3 of us devoured Al Pacino's pizza for tea, as 2 of the gang had worked late.
A sad caching night for me...3 DNFs (2 on the same cache) and only 6 finds
However lots of fun was had although pants were torn (sushilord's) , injuries were received (sushilord) and late night coffees were drunk at a fireman's house in order to coax him to help us find Khumbu Glacier Revisted .....although it still wasn't found

DNF! Considering that sushilord and firesafe both shared FTF here, you would think that one of them would have found the cache for us tonight on our second attempt but no, even with firesafe graciously accompanying us back here at about 11.15pm, still no find
We drove off leaving firesafe still searching.

A later start than usual after 3 of us devoured Al Pacino's pizza for tea, as 2 of the gang had worked late.

Did not have enough time or appropriate footwear to do a thorough search today, will come back another day more suitably attired
Looking around here for a while sore something that looked like an X buy no cache
Third DNF of the day. Time for home when the success ratio reaches 40% terrible sat lock, no x's spotted anywhere. Lots of rocks to look under, but the numbers got a bit intimidating...
Found whilst out and about with Tomboy711...
Thanks for highlighting this for us... Thankfully the previous finder who was with me, laughed and laughed until I managed to find this elusive little sucker...
A short stroll, a short search, found cache, stamped and returned...
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment...

Came here a while ago with Frog friends.
Dropped past again for another look.
Sadly no luck.
There has been a lot of activity here though
with recent tree plantings and quite a bit has been
disturbed.
Will watch for a while - hopefully owner can confirm if still there.

We can see this one becoming a nemisis cache spent some time looking with no luck but will be back for a more thourgh search TFTC
No luck today, even after spending a good 40 mins or so wondering around in circles. No "X" to be seen... maybe it melted in the hot weather, lol. We will be back!
Eventually found it after some time. Admittedly I did call in some help from a previous finder. Great hide, TFTC
This was really hard to find but it was so awesome to finally find. Thanks for an awesome cache.
WHOO. WHOO
I finally found this on my third visit.
This one almost had me beat.
Yes it definitely is there... This is my first cache with a difficulty if four and it certainly earned its rating. Thanks for this great cache

Poor sat lock = check.
Lots of potential hiding spots = check.
Wandering back and forth with seeming little purpose = check.
Using my iPhone for an impromptu bit of caching often leads to me looking in one place and then the compass jumping to 9m west. I'll move west and it'll jump to saying east.
I had to give up on GPSr help and use the old fashioned "have a look around. "
Very clever hide.
Log book is slightly damp.

Two old codgers walking around in circles - found a triangle but only imaginary crosses. Will try again
# 8041 Found on the SA leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure, while at Belair for a few days.
No muggles around and a reasonably quick find.
I dreaded this one but had a good look around and with a little help, eventually located it.
This is evil and just like many others that I have not been able to find.
Thanks for the cache Lead 'n Lace,
Roostaman.

E's first find! Many thanks to all the logs and photo's. Great to see the reserve looking like a woodland again
Wow!! It's definitely there. Just allow a lot of time to find it.
Got it on my second time.
Got it on my second time.
We have been here on 6 separate occasions, day and night. We had friends help us, at one point we had 8 people there. We even hired a metal detector from Blackwood hire but had not luck. I cannot believe we found it tonight. Only by chance and shining a light across the X accidentally. So relieved now, can finally sleep at night lol
Found with JMCH and celebrating my 100th find as Featherlump (instead of the H in JMCH!!!).
This was a tad tricky and had given M lots of problems. A re-assess of a few photos and we knew what we were looking for - shortly after we had the cache - Finally!

Checked today and found the log un-servicable, so it has now been replaced.
