I came with Dimepodore to grab this one, I looked where I could, but no luck, I suggested a different use of the phone and soon we saw the container. I was too small, but good to find this one, after a few visits. TFTC Find#147
It took a while to get this cache. After a first attempt, we realised some numbers were wrong, as the final was far from anything the hint could allude to. We continued searching to finally get some coords that made sense. At GZ, we didn't see anything during our second visit and asked the CO for help. As we come quite often in the area, we kept this for a dot day, but there were too many muggles and car parked every time since then. Tonight was looking better. It was a quick stop, as we knew where to look. LoupLaVu taught new ways to use my use and view things that where out of eye reach. There it was, retrieved, signed and replaced. Thanks for the nice puzzle and lots of learning.
Day 6 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc. We are staying in New Brighton and today was all about washing and domestic chores. Still we managed to grab a couple of caches.Another beautiful sunny day to be out and about again. CC you have really turned on the nice weather for us.This one ended up being about 20 metres from our GZ but we managed to spot the likely location. Fabulous mural. Thanks for contributing to the fun bo&bronnie
Day six of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Staying in Christchurch and spent the day being domestic (with a few caches on the side!)Solved the puzzle before we left home, just needed to find it now.Lady Morris did the honors. It was a fair bit out, but the clue was precise. Thanks, Robmc.
Came in on a frosty morning before going for a swim. Had a hunt around where I thought it was, couldnt find it. Was about to give up when I thought what about? and found it. A bit hard to try and extract the log with numb fingers. Thanks for the hide.
Finally got round to finding this one. I think it was probably the first puzzle cache I solved, thanks!
Rather interesting area to explore. What is this building used for? This would be a good place for a CITO. Perfect place to hide a cache! Well done with the GZ choice. The well protected is safe and dry. My coords were a bit off but basic geosense won the day.
Saw that the CO had been by and replaced the log, thanks for that. Had taken our daughter and Grandson to the pool while they were visiting from Wellington, so stopped in to change my blue face into a smiley. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache bo&bronnie.
Down in the Christchurch area with woolwood9. Day 6 - A bit of threatening cloud and spits of rain but didn't effect us overly much today.SL *tm/ww NZ*Thank you for the reason to visit this cache and location New container fits the location well.*Good find and hide.*
After the terrible weather yesterday we were pleased to see a little sun today.Day six of my trip away in Christchurch with tmann42 hunting caches.Signed all logs tm/ww NZGood hide here, soon foundThank you for the placement and the time spent making the caches ready for us to find.
Went and checked on Cache today. Found on the ground around some discarded rubbish. Have now replaced the cache with a smaller one to tuck out of sight.
Solved this while Miss 10 went down the hydro-slide almost a million times!Once she was sufficiently wrinkly we stopped at GZ while heading home.Found the perfect hiding spot, which I believe from previous logs is the nook mentioned, but no cache. Hasn't been found in over six months and there is a lot of rubbish around. Looks like a bit of a hang out spot. Will try again the next time I'm over this side of town, which if Miss 10 has anything to do with it will be soon.Maybe CO could check if they are able to?
Similar to previous logs I was *fairly certain* I was in the right spot.
Coordinates seemed a bit out (maybe 10m) but put me close to something that related to the hint.
Knowing the type of cache I was looking for was helpful too- also thanks to the activity log.
A bit of a search then I spotted something peeking out
TFTC & puzzle.
Container and log are dry and in good order.
Much enjoyed

Enjoyed this puzzle and searching for the answers. Today was coming home from visiting at Burwood Hospital and decided to stop for a look. With it being 4 degrees not many people around. Went to the final and found the cache cleverly hidden as per hint. A fav from us for the fun and hide. Thanks for this puzzle and the cache Bo&Bronnie.
Stoked to grab this one as I was not confident with my answers and no Geochecker to confirm my solution. GZ was a likely hiding place so spent a little extra time searching and was finally rewarded with the cache in a nook I thought I previously searched; TFTC
Thanks!!! A good puzzle and a good cache find. Cheers for the local history
Haha...took 2 goes to find this 1 and the first time I basically put my hand on it without noticing, then went back the 2nd time and found it straight away...cacher's blank moment
Anyway, successfully signed tftc!

Well, this piece of caching history in NZ - solved then fenced off for a year or five then finally claimed today. Very well hidden indeed! It's the first time I've been over here for a few years, the place sure has changed. Someone moved the pool! Cheers
Having rechecked our coordinates since the last visit - with the conclusion that they were indeed correct - we returned today for a more thorough search. After a short time we spotted a small nook we had overlooked on the previous visit, reached in, and made the find by touch rather than by sight. This is indeed very well hidden. TFTC!

Caching in the area today whilst visiting family and making the most of the great weather and caches along the way.
Had solved this during the week in the hopes I'd get a chance to come and have a look here especially as I'd had a chance to carry the baton in 1990 in Auckland, the games were always something I looked forward to as a kid.
Nice and quiet other than a couple of watchful birds nearby but I was able to sneak in and make the cache without them alerting anyone to my whereabouts and I was off to the next in quick time. Fun one to do - TFTC

As I was heading for a movie night in this direction, it was a great excuse to go and find a few caches along the way - and finally collect this one! Very appropriate location TFTC!!
I have had this puzzle solved for a while but I am not over this side of town very often. Finally we were in the area so took the opportunity to grab it. It was a quick find.
We then wandered over to have a look at the newly opened QEII facility. It was absolutely heaving! Glad we hadn't come all this way hoping for a swim but great to see it being so well used.

In Christchurch this weekend signing off a few puzzles that have been solved for a long time on my Planetary Pursuit. This was one of them and quite coincidentally is the one that gets me all the way to Pluto so although most friends have well and truly reached it I'll still take that gold thanks very much. The place was really busy today and by another coincidence I spent quite a bit of time watching this sport on the coverage of the Commonwealth games on the TV last night. TFTC # 12,317
I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

Took me two visits to get this right. Last weekend, I had the coordinates take me to the stadium that is completely fenced off. I had read something about fences in the logs so I still considered that it could be in there. Jumped the fence, went to GZ - nope, right in the middle of the field.
Went back home, started reviewing the numbers, one that I was not sure about, was the song - and really, after a bit more persistent searching, I found another song name. There was one more song that was played/sung at the opening ceremony that is not the Join Together and not the one required in the task.
Came back to the reworked GZ today, yes, looked like there is a place that fits the hint. A bit of looking from different angles and a part of the cache box was spied! Good hiding spot!

Another calendar day challenge. Today had three things going for it, no work and sunshine and still some unfound geocaches on the map.
I wondered if this geocaches would still be here because of the work going on to reopen QE2. A very clever hide. No wonder it has lasted so long.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent)
Thanks. Bo&Bronnie for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4854 for me.

Thanks. Bo&Bronnie for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4854 for me.
I started geocaching back in 2010 after accidentally finding a plastic box hidden in the bush just out of Greymouth. A few months after finding that first cache with my daughter where we signed the logbook I decided to checkout geocaching.com after reviewing the photos I took. I couldn't believe I didn't know geocaching existed! Anyway I remember having a go at solving this puzzle about then....let's just say this cache has been on my 'solve' list for a long time. It feels particularly satisfying to have found it, although I suspect I may have one of the lesser digits wrong but thankfully the hint got me on target. Thanks bo&bonnie.
Quick find after the research. I remember the games well. A friend had a job as one of the medal carriers. Watched many athletic events here over the years and the odd concert. Thanks for the cache.
Injeanious and I had been here before, but I had obviously gotten one of my answers wrong, had another look and the cache was found! Thanks for this little piece of history at our doorstep!
Thanks to the CO for some help ,found today, nearly didn't retrieve it, definitely vertically challenged! TFTC
JD and I came looking for this one ages ago, but our GZ was in a chained off area. Hmm, that doesn't seem right. JD reviewed her answers and realised something was out. We came out to check out the new GZ and sure enough it was the right spot. Tftc.
Down south once again for work and with bit of spare time to complete a number of tasks that I had set for myself. This included collecting a number of caches that have been sitting in my "to Collect" list for some time as they meet various requirements for challenges that I have set myself.
So wiith a nice and early start, it was always going to be a big few days caching and the work conforence that I was attending was still (damm it) going to be a priority.
So thanks to all the cache owners for the set ups and apologies for taking so long to log them but the logging of caches had to take a back seat to collecting the APE CACHE
thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

We were over this part of town doing some secret lab cache stuff, and picking up some pre-solved puzzle caches. We wondered over to this one from the other part of the park, and while the boys were looking in one spot, the Queen found the cache and we all signed our lives away.
Thanks bo&bronnie for the puzzle and cache.

Day seven of my New Zealand caching holiday. Today I was with Skullracing and The Geo Princess. Our main aim was to register our attendance at the Mega and then hit the Lab caches put out for the occasion. Weather was once again looking pretty good, so off we went.
Continuing our tour east of Christchurch city, a couple of extra solved puzzles were next on the list. Mr SR and I were searching while Mrs SR had already found and was retrieving the container.

Thought we had this one solved and the co-ordinates looked possible on the map but either we have the puzzle wrong or we just could not find it - not sure which. Will submit out co-ordinates to the CO next time before we hunt it down again.
Finally managed to knock this one off. Worked it out a while ago but turned out to be incorrect. Had another crack and bingo, found it. Coordinates still seemed a wee bit out, but with a bit of logic we figured it out quickly enough. Thanks for the sporting history lesson, and thanks for placing this cache.
Pokernet did the solving as part of her new challenge to do some puzzles. MacPacMum managed the find so real team effort.
Yeah I actually can do puzzle caches I worked it out and Mac Pac Mum got her hands on it first. Thanks for the find
Well this is embarrassing... I have had the correct coordinates for about three and a half years, but didn't know it. I first went for a look back then and mustn't have tried very hard, ever since then it has been in the too hard basket. I have even found an email from the CO telling me I have it all correct (mostly) - how slack of me . TFTC (1828)

Mrs Sharpe solved some time ago, Mr Sharpe located. Fairly quick find, cool subject but the location is sad these days.
Puzzle turned out to be harder than it initially looked. But I got there in the end after getting stuck on a couple of numbers. Luckily the cache was a quick find once I ignored the GPS. It is a great hide. I haven't been here since before the earthquakes and really miss the facilities, it is such a shame to see the state of the park now. Thanks for the puzzle and cache.
SO pleased to tick this off. Worked it out ages ago- except for one number, which I couldn't find. We were heading that way today - so had another crack at it- and found the info with no problem !! So now to search for the cache. Very nice hide- took quite a bit to winkle it out, but we got there. Thanks- good fun
Had worked most of this out a whille back but got stuck on one point. Warfi finally mannaged to come up with the info and we made a fairly quick find, A fun challenge-thanks
I solved this a while ago and came to find it but it was too dark. Today with the help of Jadeisaminx success.

Solved this one earlier in the week - but somehow ended up with coords on the other side of the same wall of the same building - so not too far off, but luckily was corrected before heading out
After church mentioned to looking4thebroc that I was going out for this cache, and whether r not he wanted to come along with, seeing as it was just round the corner almost.
He said yes, and offered his car also.
So we searched around in the dark - GPS wasn't cooperating, so we went for the likely spot, and near where google maps had suggested.
Sure enough, success! Though retrieval was a bit of a problem.
I remember coming to this place heaps as a kid though, swimming competitions and all. My main memory is of one time when I was 12, and me and my friends had a break between our races. We were playing on the '8 and under' year old pool playground. The lifeguard came to us, and told us all off, and I started leaving with my friends (all same age as me +-1 year...) , when he said to me "No, not you little girl, you can stay! Those big girls weren't being mean to you were they?" Wow. I always knew I was a small child, but that was proof for sure!

Had one of the numbers wrong as I guessed at the song title. A email to the CO and I thought I would collect this one tonight. It was all going well, I was out in the lead. I could see the GZ and was putting the GPSr away when just like the Baton carrier at the previous games I fell flat on my face with the finish line in sight. A hole in the grass just after the top of a mound was my undoing. I got back up and completed the cache. Great hide. Thanks
This puzzle was a little tricky to solve, and CO was kind enough to point me in the right direction on a couple of answers. Got to GZ this afternoon...and went straight to the structure that the GZ was pointing us to...and looked...and looked...checked the hint...yep, we're pretty sure we're in the right place...hmmm...20mins later....wifey spotted the sneaky hide! Thanks for the cache.
This cache is all good to go again, Thanks ADV for the the update on the access, Cheers Bo
A good subject, the 1974 games were certainly a major event at the time. Cache found in good condition and there are no issues with access. Whatever fence others have encountered is no longer there.

645 - After visiting here a couple of days ago, I received a whisper in my ear. I returned tonight on the way home with friends from a night of caching nearby. Yay Gold today! So sad to see the demolition the other day and glad I couldn't see it tonight. I can still vividly remember Dick Taylor winning his gold, and watching the games on TV as I didn't live in Christchurch then. TFTC
I visited GZ today and I'm pretty sure it's now behind a fence. Yes, I did look for a way in to see if my theory was correct but the fence is too high to climb and I couldn't get around it, rats! I'll just have to wait until the fences are taken down. I should have read the logs, how did you others get in that fence, through that wooden bit or was that put there because of your efforts?
Wasn't even dressed when RuruNZ phoned and asked if I wanted to go find this one. Didn't take much coaxing to head on out (once dressed) and found after wondering about the fence as well. Area is still quite boggy so watch where you walk. Although our co-ords were different, we found it really quickly, signed log and were outta there asap.
Definitely a good day to have found this one.
NZ's second GOLD of the London Olympics just won by the rowing boys.
NZ's second GOLD of the London Olympics just won by the rowing boys.
Even tho they say that QE2 is going to be demolished or ( deconstructed as they say ) The hiding place where the cache is placed has been structually checked and found to be safe. cant say too much else as it would be a give away as to where it is. So even tho the area looks a bit dodgy I am told that it is safe. And like any other cache in christchurch at the moment we have to use our own instincts as to wheather or not we want to enter an area to retrieve a cache. Cheers Bo
Solved this long ago, though I think it was post quake, and have been put off by reports of the fence. After confirmation over the weekend that the stadium was indeed coming down, thought I'd best get it before it disappears for good.
Knowing kiwicampnut had also solved but not found, I picked her up and headed here. We had slightly different coords, but with the hint there was one obvious place ... And it was, as expected, behind the fence. Not much traffic so made a quick expedition into unkept territory.
Would recommend that this cache is moved slightly to an area that its less "dangerous" and more likely to be accessible when demolition starts.
A good day to get this as or rowers weaned or first GOLD in the London Olympics last night.

Coming around the last bend in the track he dashes for the finish line... GOLD!!! Yay, I struck gold on this one. I had solved this one and had two possible outcomes. Went to first GZ and looked promising but didn't supply the goods. Thought I better try the second GZ (it was the first answer I got when solving puzzle). You'll know when you get to GZ. Once again a high viz top and work boots paid off. Got to GZ and nearly missed the cache. Good spot. TFTC!
Must not have worked out co-ords correctly because it just lead me to a spindly tree. Not much else. Will try again later.
After finding and solving 3 LGM puzzles today I was within reach of getting 4 puzzles caches for 8manafters 4x4 challenge (tricky given I have solved and found most puzzles in CHCH). This one was on the cards if only I could find it on my nighttime mission. Puzzle was interesting to solve & fingers crossed that I had the 'correct' information! Hit GZ late...and thankfully all was quiet. Soon found an entry and after a wee search (torch anyone?!) I tracked it down. Most excellent. Thanks for the effort creating & placing.
A teensy bit nervous about the "surrounds" but all safe and accessible. Enjoyed the research and it brought back some memories. Thank you.
We solved this one weeks ago and decided today would be the day to go for it. I think it was best we did this one now and not leave it for later because who knows how much longer it will be accessible. There is a fence all around the cache, but we found our way inside and found the cache soon after without a problem.
Found with Mporokosa without too many muggles around today. I was at the 1974 games and this GC brought back memories of happier days for this once magnificent stadium.
Tried this a few weeks ago with no luck. Had really good look online for correct answers and was certain I was in the right area, and I was, finally got this find today, I think it's time for me to get glasses. TFTC.
TFTC. I love the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. I even ran down the side of the rack when Dick Taylor won his gold medal at QEII. Those were the days! So was pleased to be able to earn a smilie for this cache.
Another solved cache goes into the found pile! Thanks for the history lesson for the area.
Confirmation from CO certainly help with this puzzle - LG dived behind the fence to get the cache that kept us going for a few minutes & nice hide LGM
