A couple of days that I expected to need to get this cache up again has stretched to over a year and a half. I have an idea for another 'bigger and better' Box 'O Books but first need to find a suitable location.

Taking the cache away for a short while to clean and maintain it. Will have it back in a day or two.

Nice find while exploring this walkway, log quite damp. TFTC

Well hidden but def a great find!

Great cache to find. The container had a bit of water in it and the log book is now filled up and damp from rain and needs to be changed.

Watch out for the mosquitos' they were in strong numbers there today. Great find though.

Today yorkshirekiwi83 and I decided to return to East Auckland for another part day of caching - basically continuing where we left off yesterday and the weather was even hotter than yesterdays! Parked at Page Point then wandered along the valley pathway picking up all caches along here. This good sized cache was a nice quick find, TFTC!

Vistra and I werent happy with our find numbers the day before due to the heat, so another early morning and back out there today to get our numbers, nice to be able to wander all the way up the valley and grab this cache. Nice and quick.

Once we got our bearings it was quite straight forward.
Biggest cache found so far.

Found it with mozzies at dusk.

In Howick for the day doing some caching, this one took us a wee while to locate due to the coordinates being a few metres off. Other than that nice hide TFTC

Out picking up caches with attributes needed for our ongoing attempt at completing the GIO Licence.

Great find

Spotted the cache with the help of the hint but pointed Mr 4 in the right direction to let him find it. He was pretty happy to find a cache so big! Didn't take any books but swapped some swag for the kids and took the TB to move on. Watch out for the mozzies, I got munched! TFTC!

Took awhile to find, swapped a book

First find!

Gps was bouncing around then I spotted a tiny bit poking out! Yay! TFTC

Picked up gorgeous TB that made my day. This was the our last cache for the day and we were hot & thirsty & almost gave up but then found it when we went back to the first place we looked

A quick find for us as we headed along the MacDonald Walkway for a few caches. Signed log and dropped TB, TFTC!

Lovely walk in this previously unknown park area, found cache exposed and not sure how all the books fitted as i couldn't get the lid to close again after signing the log. Took a book and now everything fits covered the cache a bit more as well. TFTC

Struggled with the compass so searched a big area but didnt want to give up on books! Finally found. Really wish I had worn bug spray. Thanks for the awesome cache.

Could not resist this cache while in the area. Have been littering the countryside with literature for 10 years now. Was luckyto meet up with suppernanny and ric near gz as I written down 1 number wrong in co ordinates. Took Winnie the Poohand left a Miss Silver mystery. Tftc

Had been at the meet up at Eastern beach, and this was our last search in the area. Urbangypsynz has been releasing books into the wild for a while, so we had to come and visit this book crossing themed cache. The container was a little damp, so wiped dry, tipped out some water, luckily the books are fine. Thanks for the hide and spreading the word!

Always appreciate a cache that is a little bit different to the norm and this one is no exception. Parked up a wee way away and followed the trail to this cache. No one else was out on the walkway so I had the area to myself (other than a mozzie or eight), and the cache was quickly found.

Nice spot for a first timer

Set off down this lovely track, took me way too long to find this cache, I overlooked the obvious as I soon found out! Some Chinese muggles gave me the suspicious look as they passed me by hanging in the bushes.

Originally logged and found whilst out with mum (keylev) but now have own account so logging all finds I was present at and helped with.

Lovely short walk to GZ. Cache was sitting very exposed so saw it immediately. Had a quick look through but took nothing, left nothing. Mr 7 was very interested in book crossing so we might have to look into that for him.

We originally walked right past this cache, oops! Quickly spotted it on the way back down though. Signed the log, had a quick nosey at the goodies in the container, but were getting eaten alive by the mozzies, so decided to skedaddle. Great cache, thanks for the hide!

Cache is back, all clean and dry with some new books. There is now also a container inside the main container to try keep books drier. Please seal both when replacing the cache.

I have removed cache to do some much needed maintenance (26 December 2013). It will be back later today or tomorrow morning. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Emptied out a fair bit of water and dried it out as much as possible but will still be a bit damp unfortunately. TFTC

Found it and picked up "the death of Dalziel". Sadly, no pen/pencil so couldn't sign the log. The dead ponga has fallen over...

This one took a little longer to find as the GPS was jumping around lots under the tree cover, plus with this drought there seems to be a lot of dead pongas! When we got to the right one it was an easy grab. TFTC

After our GPS sorted itself out we found it fairly easily. What a great idea for a cache! Didn't need to take any books. TFTC

The GPS doesn't like working in trees so the hint was very helpful. Mum was off looking at one likely spot when Dad found it by accident. We left 2 books: The Hairy Toe (for kids) & a Harlan Coban book for adults.

Loved the walk from the parking spot, seeing a couple of ducks with some almost fully grown chicks in the small stream. The cache was a quick find once in the area where the cache was hidden.

A very exciting find, thrilled to swap for a book especially a family one which is perfect for our kids! This was the best find of the day and a little bush walk too

Was a relatively quick find (Mum was practically standing on it!) - Dad found it and was excited to find a book he was interested in (The Closers - Michael Connelly).

We have taken the book and will log it on the BookCrossing website.

A beautiful day today so headed out to Howick area to find some caches and took along 2 of my Girl Guides to try their hand at caching. Jess soon had mastered the GPS operations and Amy loved being able to find some today. We left a book which I have logged on the web site suggested to folk . . . . . took nothing. Found the cache, examined the library, choose the book 'A Imanginative Experience' as this appeares to be what I was having! Left the Simpsons book. Unfortunatly I didn't have time to register this with Bookcrossing. Thanks for a decent size cache and the creative hide.

Dried out the cache and placed a few more books into it. Despite the moisture in the cache the last book was still in excellent condition.

All very damp as the previous log said. The books would still be quite readable with their double protection though, the owner may wish to rescue them while everything is dried out. No sign of a coin either! Tnln tftc. Centuryson from Australia

Cache has standing water inside this morning and thought I drained it the books, trade items and log will need some assistance if they are to stay in tack.

Super quick find late this morning. Felt very exposed at GZ to possible muggles however fortunately the only muggles which arrived were of the feathered variety. Sad to say that even though we have a bounty of fine dry weather of late the cache is in desperate need of maintainence. I drained the water to the best of my ability. The books, which sit on the bottom, will need a look at. Luckily the log was on top and so it was still easily signable though was a little damp. Great trail for a hide. TFTC.
