Time for this cache to close. Too many non cachers now know this spot, and find replacement cache positions.
It seems that after many years of peaceful repose, this cache has been discovered by people other than cachers. Judging by the joint butts left behind, it seems this cache has gone up in a puff of smoke.
Some work will need to be done to find a safer position to carry on caching.

It was rather cold and windy this morning as we wandered around this little park collecting the required numbers. Armed with the co-ords we were headed to the final location, but could not spot any cache there. Given some of the previous "quick easy find" logs we would like to think that we would have found it if it was in place.
Nice spot, had a feast of meat pie and a sticky bun fron the nearby hot bread shop, good to watch the ships leaving port. All in good order and log dry. TNLN. This one is a wrap. Mission accomplished TFTC! Blenheim Bear

cool little cache and we loved finding the numbers. When we plugged in the final coords - we weren't sure they were right so decided to not find the final.
That was cool! Kids loved all the clue solving! Great amount of history here! Been past many times but never really looked! Thanks for giving us the opportunity!
Out on the MTBike to find some local caches. Arrived at GZ and the code made perfect sense - Clever use of numbers!
After doing the figuring the cache was quickly in hand, in fact by pure fluke I had stopped at the right spot to do the figuring so did not have to go far at all.
Thanks for placement at this very historic spot.

Thanks for placement at this very historic spot.
Easy find once Google maps stopped sending me to an address rather than the GPS coords. Thanks.
first time I have been here since lived in taranaki over 13 years with patrick and rob
We ended up having a picnic here and decided to improve our knowledge of the history of the area. This is a cool field puzzle and the hide bought a smile to our faces for its simplicity and brazenness.
Found on a lovely evening. This is a great spot that I have visited a bit recently. A nice view and great to watch the little yachts out in the harbour. TFTC
Have seen this little reserve often, but never checked it out properly before, This was a good opportunity, with interesting reminders of NP's past. Straightforward find. TFTC
Our first puzzle cache. We enjoyed this one! A team effort in the rain with steedandpeel.
What a great puzzle cache! The weather was so bad that we had no worries about muggles! We quickly realised what we needed to do and split up to find the necessary info, then gathered back in the van to put in the final coords. Two of us dashed to GZ for a successful grab, back to the van again to sign and swap, and I got the honour of dashing out in the rain to replace it.
A fav from us!

I quite enjoyed introducing yet another couch surfer to geocaching while working at the August challenge. I also was happy to go caching with a person in a wheelchair for the first time. I probably should have mentioned that it can be addictive for my hosts caretaker is now hooked.
Found this cache today in the freezing cold. Discovered the label that must've been attached to the geocoin but the coin has obviously been taken. Thanks for the cache
After walking past it several times frustrated as. Found it. Good hide. Tftc
I'd solved a number of puzzles before heading down for the weekend but as it turned out this was the only puzzle I was able to attempt, and it was a very enjoyable one at that.
Managed to get the cache in hand just before another big shower came down so didn't get too wet doing this one. Really nicely done, TFTC

This was an excellent cache. I've used this spot and it's hints for a number of Urban Rogaines on behalf of the Taranaki Orienteering Club. This gets a favourite 'tick'. Left a pencil stub and Phronimos token. TFTC. Unfortunately the Cape Henry Light House geocoin was not here, but there's been no other visitors since it was left. Shame.
Very well done cache, from the use of the history through to the hide.
Dropped off a trackable that's heading north up the coast.

Very clever use of local history for this cache. Enjoyed doing the field puzzle and quickly found the cache. Fortunately the final was located out of sight of the 'Tree Scape' men who pulled up in their truck just as we were starting the search. Thanks for the effort and a wonderful cache.
877 - I've visited this spot a number of times over the last few days and didn't realise this one was here until yesterday. I came back today with family and this was my niece's first puzzle cache so that was pretty cool. We initially missed one plaque but it sure didn't take long to locate it and then the cache was right where I thought it would be, nice! Thanks for more lovely memories on my trip here.
Wandered in circles a couple of times until I clicked on to what was needed. Once more around and then a rest while I entered the co-ords, then a relatively easy find. Left a leather key tag, and signed the log. A clever puzzle and nicely done. Thanks for the cache.
Very interesting history and times see "our" FAMILIES ARRIVAL vessel mentioned on both the plaque and monument was very good, followed this up with a visit to Richmond house to see records of family members on the first boats here

What a great puzzle - a lovely spot with some interesting history. We didn't even know it was here. Couldn't find that last clue though. We guessed the number and it paid off.
Had great fun doing this cache. Walked around in circles deciphering clues. Sat down to enter answers into GPS then realised that final was not far from me. LOL! Dropped off Mystery Tour GC
Such a weather-beaten day, took advantage of a break in the rain to go out to do this cache. Glad we did as it was great! Loved it. Have travelled this road many times but never knew this was here. Soon onto solving the puzzle, and found the container in the first place we looked. After looking out over the prow, took the zigzag track down to Ngamotu beach to watch the waves smashing over the breakwater. TFTPC, gets a favourite.
Found @ 2:15pm with hccatcher11415
We enjoyed doing this one, left a pathtag and a keyring. Thanks for the education Southern Augurs!!!

Found this one with johnyoung. Enjoyed the walk around the area to solve it.
Was pleased to see the logbook - two New Plymouth District Council gardeners have found the cache (I'm assuming accidentally whilst working), signed the logbook and replaced it. Very cool.

Tricky little one, lucky rp252 and myself were working together today and got it sorted.
Had a bit of trouble finding one of the numbers - it was only after we had guessed where the final was that we discovered it. Most interesting and a nice idea for a puzzle.

daughter thought she'd nosy around while I started on the clues. Had just worked out the first one when she said she'd found it. Quickest puzzle cache we've ever done! Left a pet rock - a duck. TFTC
great cache found at night while locking up fontera took skeleton left amourgaurd slips
Took a bit to find the last number, but a nice little history lesson, and an easy find. Cheers Gav [8216]
This is a really interesting cache and good use made of the area to place one. TFTC #1877
I used to live just down the hill by the beach when I first started flatting, things have changed a bit around here. Thanks for the cache and local history.
#525. A great little multi, we really enjoyed solving this one. It took a couple of loops to get the required information, but lots of fun. Found the cache immediately once we identified GZ, SL, TFTC. -rubber, -pokemon, -2xtbs, +bone, +yoyo, +soldier.
Interesting local history used to complete this cache find. Thanks for sharing, swapped TBs T4TC.
didn't find this on the first try, came back a year later and found it no problem. fun and informative. thank you
Nicely organised and interesting cache. Soon had it under control and found cache after a short search. SL TFTC
Started this one last night just on dark, got all the information and searched for about 10 minutes with no luck, returned this morning for a quick find. TNLN SL TFTC

An interesting and informative cache, located GZ and cache without difficulty. NINO TFTC
I didn't even realize that I had a geocache (literally) down the road from me. Took a quick walk, and I found it a lot easier than I thought I would.. Swapped the foreign coin for a small, green glass egg. TFTC.
No muggles around despite being the middle of the day. Great to read about the history of the area, especially when descended from one of the pioneers on one of the ships mentioned! Mum came with us - she drove past this for 5 years without knowing what was really there. Great puzzle...! TFTC.
Had great fun doing this cache, thanks for not making the puzzle too obvious. In silver pin, out nil. Wasnt actually much in the container.
Enjoyable little history lessons with a reward at the end for getting it all right. Well constructed and thought out. SL, TFTC.
Found during our afternoon walk on Boxing Day.
Learnt a whole bunch about the port area!

To learn some history of the places we visit and combine this with a geo-cache find makes for an enjoyable day. Our first cache in the Taranaki area. May there be many more.

Interesting cache with some history quite pertinent to our family, although they have spelt the Timandra wrong, doh! Anyway, nice quick find of this rather bold cache hide. TFTC!!!
0paco0, Red and the Cache-dogs found it!

Thin-sliced the puzzle (read 'Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell) and found the cache within a minute. Nice puzzle, great hide. Signed log and off to the next one!
