No joy here today. Given the growing list of dnfs, could the owner please check this out.
last one for the day and a Huge DNF. I see now other logs inderciate the same all DNF. May pay to check this please.
Spent the day at Snow Planet, and went to find this on the way home. Arrived at GZ but wasn't our day today.
couldnt find were right on GZ and would have been a great park and grab will return again in the hope it has been replaced and in the location we think!!!???
Was on my way north and thought that this was going to be a very appropriate cache for me to do as I was going to bypass the toll road on this trip north as I wanted to do a few caches in this area before heading further north. Arriving near GZ I was able to find a carpark not too far from the cache and it was a quick walk to GZ, as it was very early in the morning it was easy to grab the cache without attracting too much attention, found the cache quickly, signed and replaced and was on my way within a few minutes, another quick and easy drive-by cache, TFTC TNLNSL (3619)
On our way home from the 11-11-11 event in Auckland with Flowernz, thought we would find a few caches on our home North.
Nice quick find. We had driven down the 'old road' on the way down so took the toll route this time.TFTC

After our huge day yesterday - attempting the 7+ a day challenge and attending the 11-11-11 event we still had to do a few caches on the way back to WHangarei.
Picked this up and went home via the toll road - had come down via Waiwera and Orewa and done caches and really enjoyed the 'old' road - still have lots more caches to do down that way too - but this toll road does make for a quicker easier journey these days.

Stopped right beside this one to have a read of my notes about the planned route. great stuff. TFTC #2631
Decided to do a tour up North, so an early start with a couple FTF's as well! Thanks for this one...my GPS had me walking around in circles for a while...
Easy find. Was on my way to "The Shed" at Dairy Flat, so not tolling, nor not tolling .
Swung past this one with evilno9 on our way to orewa. Quick find this time. TFTC
Finally back in the area after trying to find the cache a few months earlier. Parked in the same spot and looked in the same place... and this time it was there Quick find on a gloomy day with mel_ramsay. TFTC
On a mission today, caching in the rain, to collect lonely caches. While this cache isn't lonely, it was on the way home. I did take the toll road going north (as per usual), but as today's lonely caches were on or near State Highway 16 I came back by the alternative route (no toll). Found a very safe place to park and made a quick find after making a quick dash in the wet. Cheers for the cache!
First stop in this area for the day with evilon9. After a good search and a couple of eyes on us, we decided to flag it for another day. Will be back to claim it someday
Unfortunately for us we couldn't use jet lag as a reason for not making the find - we thought we had it sussed but were denied. Decided to move on when a van stopped further up the road and its occupants kept an eye on us. We'll be back another day - it's a great drive even with a bit of rain in the air.
28-03 1st DNF of the day at 07:37
We flew into Auckland this morning as a two day stop over on our way home from South America and were hot footing it out of the city before the traffic got too bad.
We decided this looked like a good spot to start our NZ caching but after a bit of searching and a lot of jet lag we moved on. It's not so much that the cache wasn't there as that our eyes just weren't open yet but the break still did us good.
(''\(OoO)/'') Thanks KiwiLeon, but no luck today...

Only going as far as Silverdale so it does not really count this time. When going north I go for the toll road.
Found with Biggles while caching in the area. Avoided the toll on this trip - maybe next time. TFTC
Found on day 1 of a 3 day Auckland cache raid with Kiwi Explorer. This was about as close to the toll road we got on this trip. TFTC, Biggles.
[ At 14:00 NZDT. Nice easy find but very busy with passing traffic. Been shopping at our favourite fish retailer at Silverdale, no tolls involved as on way home. TFTC ]
On a journey with Noserider and found this one... Nice Cache ... load of fast moving muggles around.
Quick Easy Drive by Cache. And we didn't take the Toll Road, as we were only going as far as Orewa. But Going any Further, Sure I would choose the Toll Rd over the other.
Had to get this one as it was so close to where I was driving. Nice quick drive by.

Had to wait for quite a few muggle cars but got there in the end for an easy find. Thank you.
We should have read the description of this and we wouldn't have taken the toll thinking we could pay cash.
Although we were trying to avoid the temptation of all the caches at Orewa, so we make it North in good time.
Stopped off to do this cache though.
thanks, Robmc.

We travelled the toll road but not until we travelled along and realised it was electronic and we had just a few coins to pay the required amount
Luckily we spotted a booth on our return and got out of debt.
Meanwhile this cache was retrieved and signed.

To be honest we didn't get it on our first pass but here was a muggle in our way. We came back and found it. TFTC
Found when meeting up with kiwifamily for a day of caching.

Nice quick cache find. Nothing for me as only going a little further north. SL TFTC
On our way from one birthday party (84) to another birthday party (60) so just had time to spot a quick drive by cache. TFTC We took the Toll road BTW.
Quick find on the way to Silverdale. Like the others I stood on the side of the road pretending that the GPS was a cellphone. TFTC.
Hundreds of bikers had gone through here on the ACC protest ride so it was quite a noisy and exciting caching morning. Police at the round about, but no one looked our way. Was out with the team, but had been away when they got this one, so an extra stop was made for my benefit. Soggy log, but not too wet. TFTC.
Pulled over here and decided to use the 'Stop to talk on the Cellphone' ruze. Talked to my wife on the phone while grabbing this cache. TFTC.
Quick easy find...TFTC

Not too many cars to worry about. Had to turn off to Orewa anyway to pick up our favourite pie (chicken & veggie)…..and they had sold out!!!!! TFTCSL
Stopped off on my way home from a shopping trip to Albany - leaving a trip on the Toll Road for another day. TFTC
Mrs Budokan was fast asleep in the car after a hard days caching so I couldnt resist a quick drive by. parked within a metre but need to get out of the car. TFTC
Sorry for the late posting! Kayaknkiwi and I were celebrating BookwormMum's birthday with an afternoon of caching. Stopped here after finding Petrol & Burgers. It was great meeting you, KiwiLeon . . . we were delighted you spotted us and stopped to say 'hi'! TFTC!!
Apologies for late posting - forgot this one as it was a spontaneous drive by! Wouldn't want to be too short - and nice to meet you Leon! TFTC!
1148 Mr Geckoh is Dutch, he had just commented that we should plant a cache on the free road called "If you are Dutch turn left". There are no prizes for guessing which road we took! This was a purely geocaching orientated decision (Mr G is left handed also). Thanks for the amusement KiwiLeon.
The first cache in my raid on the Silverdale caches for this morning.
Cheers for the cache.

Doing some caches for my mum's 70th birthday
Very cute hide...there's one like this in Warrigul (Victoria Australia) called Nutbush City Limits.

Co-ords were a bit off. Must have been before your new Oregon?? The cache container was lying on the floor so once log signed I returned it securely to were it should have been. TFTC.
Quick find on way home - across to SH16 then north, less traffic and more fun road

In the area late this afternoon, couldn't help myself I had to get this one. Had to use some skills to reach this one..... Nice hide, really drive up and drive out. Thanks for the adventure! TFTC!
Grabbed this in the dark on the way home from Cirque Du Soleil. A little bit muddy around it but Easy Find. TFTC
Quick find on my way south. What an impressive bit of road that stretch of toll road is.

09/08/2009 14:29 - Quick Drive by on our way home, at first I thought the cache was higher up (nice views from up there). But no I was mistaken and cache closer to car that thought.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Compulsary stop with the owner Kiwileon waiting in the car.
Turns out it wasn't 'exactly' how he placed it.

Challenging retrieval with the peak hour traffic starting to appear. Managed to wait for gaps to make the grab and return. Cheers Gav [3926]
Been past this often enough, about time I signed the log
Took the toll into auckland, and returned by the free (only to get some caches over there of course)

Found at 1120 with Marg. Had to wait until a muggle moved off, for some reason he decided to pull up right at the cache. and easy find. Cac he OK and dry. TFTC.
Had us scratching our heads for a few minutes, as our WP took us to a grassed hilly area. But logic prevailed - only one spot it really could be! Freeway north for us today, as no caches on the toll way.
But quicker way home, for sure!

Found with Imgettingannoyed during our 3 n half week NZ mega cache mission!!
2546. A quick find as we started to make our way north. We were making a small detour so we could visit the newest niece!

2.15pm. Quick find with Sallies on the way to see the new baby at Whangaparoa. Thank you. David and Noeline.
Stopped off at this cache (S-bound) tonight after visiting a couple of new caches just north of here - using the toll road of course. Used it a few times now and it certainly shaves time off the journey north. It was dark by the time we got here, so it was easy to retrieve and replace the cache without attracting attention. Thanks.
