On our way home from Auckland, had already stopped at 2 caches along the way to explain geocaching to a friend so decided this was the perfect one for her to find herself. This particular place has a very soft spot in my heart as it is practically in my backyard of the house I lived in when we first moved to NZ 15yrs ago. As my friend was searching, my old landlord popped out of his house next door and told my friend exactly were to find the cache. She found it without any difficulty after that and has just texted me to say she's made an account and when can we go adventuring?
Greetings from two german Cacher!!

Walked along the track from the Boat ramp . Very pleasant thankyou .
When I wandered up to the lookout a dog bounded out from a nearby property ; which gave me a bit of a fright !
Loved the hiding place ....first place I looked in .

Nice quick find here tonight weather was a little bit rough with a few passing showers. Stopped here on my way home from Auckland decided it would be a nice evening stroll around the coast. I had to back track a bot here as I passed GZ realized my error once I was on the seat having a rest.

2272 Parked and walked around the track. Most enjoyable. Tide was out but good views. Easy find.
A nice walk from the Jetty, the tui were in a playful mood. Thanks for the seat to sign the log.
A night at The Mount, a short days cache from Waihi Beach. A nice warm sunny drive, unusual for this time of year.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

After climbing up to the relatively new cache at Te Puna Quarry I decided to come finish off Tanners Point.
First stop after parking at the jetty was here.
An awesome walk along the track with choice views of the water and some boats.
Went too far and had to come back down to find the cache but soon had it in hand.
Signed and returned.
Thanks willbuild.

Wow what a great walk ...I don't remember seeing or hearing so many tuis in song ....it was so nice to hear ...found the cache ok and soon had the log signed great cache thanks willbuild
So busy watching and listening to all the tuis that I walked straight past thus and had to backtrack. Great views. Thanks for bringing us here
A little trickier than the last but not too bad. Track a little slippery but nice walk listening to all the birds.
Loved finding this cache, was surrounded by so many friendly dogs and the owners came out and asked us if we were looking for it, but we found it with ease despite the gps being a little off. Tftc!
#11579. We enjoyed our walk to the point, and also encountered the friendly dog. TFTC.
We had visited Waihi Beach a few days ago, but wanted to return with our bikes to ride on the cycle way to Bowentown. Tomorrow we are leaving Waihi so this was the last chance to do it. The temperature seemed a little bit cooler this morning, but the sea breeze (which was pretty strong in exposed places) was also welcome when the sun came out.
I had never heard of Tanner's Point before, but we needed to find a cache there for the 37 South latitude challenge cache in Hamilton (all we needed were 28 and 29 minutes). In the end we found all five caches in the area. A nice wee settlement here and a short pleasant walk to this cache I was thinking that GZ seemed pretty exposed to the nearby house, but realised if I dropped down a few metres, I would be nicely hidden from view. The cache was then quickly found. TFTC.

Ended up in totally the wrong place however it is a very stunning place dog was super friendly and we had to throw his stick for him a few times before we left tfyc
Greetings from Wellington. Go for a walk and get some geocaches, they said. Take your nephew and the dogs, they said. It will be fun, they said. Not in the pouring rain it wasn't!
Straight forward find. Had a look at the view and if the weather been nicer, I'm sure it would have been stunning! TFTC.

Last find of the year for me and a pretty sweet one to finish up with. We were joined by a couple of nearby dogs who made sure we got all the way back to the car ok (and almost hopped in with us as well). Great views over towards where we were staying for the last few days, TFTC
Would have never come down here. Thanks for bringing me to an interesting spot!
A great walk round the track to the sound of Tuis and Kingfishers. Thanks Willbuild.
I was working in the area and took a brief lunch break down at the boat ramp. Made a quick find at that one and I still had time for another.
I found the walkway along the ridge top to this. The GPS struggles a little under the trees, but I ignored it and systematically searched the area. It was found closer to the track than I expected, but a good hide. Thanks willbuild. I will return another day for the newer ones in the area and check out the new tracks. TFTC

We were greeted by the white dog as we arrived and fortunately it turned out to be a "Nice doggy" Cache was found and logged and we were on our way back to the car.
TFTC! This was our last find for the day, on our little caching ramble...mrs scoobydoo and her three junior scoobydoos. A quick find on a scenic track. Masterscoobydoo was super impressed at how much kawakawa was growing in the area.
Today was a day to pick up the caches south of Athenree.
A nice area to which this is the second time I have been here. This time successful and had a nice chat to the nearby landowner.
Cheers for the cache.

Found quickly and in good condition, nice short walk because we didn't need to go far. Interesting house on the corner - plenty of character there but wasn't to sure where the walkway ended and the property began.. but we just kept left - all good. Tanners Point - beautiful place
Found it easily. We were lazy and took the shorter track. Nice little drive and walk. Tftc
good easy find. Went early in morn to find as were staying near by. Was hoping to grab the travel bug but was not in container. Cool container.
Easy peasy find with a most beautiful walk! It was dusk and we even had the luxury of spotting an owl!
Little muggle dog let everyone know we were there, lucky cache was down out of site...TFTC
I'm over this way for the weekend with Book Club, staying at the new second home of one of our members. We decided to walk the coastal walkway to have a break from eating, chatting and doing the jigsaw, so I found this one with the help of five muggles. We then continued around the walkway to the new part where they had recently planted shrubs.
The cache is well camoed, but quickly found. I left a book (of course) which is an eraser in a cover, and a bucket and spade. Thanks for helping me fill another dot day.

Random trip to find a few T2A-R and a couple caches for a 175 East longitude challenge, TFTC! Nice camo

Out for the day with Squirrel Nutcase. We were on a mission to fill in a few caches to qualify for the 37º latitude challenge and to introduce "The Squirrel" to the wonders of the Coromandel Peninsular.
This has to be the last one for the day, otherwise we'll never get home. We have had a great day out with The Squirrel and hope he enjoyed his tiki tour of some of Coromandel and is inspired to return. He told us about this cache which will be the final qualifying cache for our 37º Challenge and although he had already done it he came along for the walk and told us about the friendly little dog who wanted to play stick with us.
Nice easy walk at the end of a long day.
Thanks willbuild, another smilie face. 31 smilie's for the day.

Having a lazy Sunday afternoon so decided to cache close to home..... Gorgeous spot on our own doorstep. Description & Gz spot on. TFTC
Detoured on the way home from Whitianga to this cache as it was the last cache that I needed to fulfil a challenge. Parked up and ran to GZ, to begin the search. A four legged muggle was keeping a eye on me as I searched for the cache. After re-reading the cache page I narrowed down the search and after systematically going over the hint item I located the goods. Cache was well hidden but shouldn't of taken this long to find. Thanks for the cache placement and taking me to a great spot.
collecting the last 2 caches to qualify for a challenge, spent way too long and ended up phoning a friend who pointed me in the right direction (Thanks!)
Headed over this way as needed a few caches and Mrs Dragon was willing for a road trip. the was the last that I needed for my own challenge (37 south just to prove that I too could complete the requirements although I won't be logging a "found" on my own challenge).
Parking nearby and the cache was in hand in a matter of moments
Thanks for bringing me here today TFTC

Easter Tuesday (Bonus Day Off Work). Have been on 'lock down' since Saturday... family holiday at Maketu. Wasn't allowed to geocache, but I did scout some excellent locations for prospective hides. Will have to wait for the school holidays for action.
We got a visitor around lunchtime... So while the family were preoccupied, I snuck out. Decided to see how far I could go within a very short timeframe...
Tanners Point... I'm back again! Met the neighbour and he told me where the cache was hidden. As it was muggled, I logged a DNF on my last visit. Today was a formality. Was in and out in about three minutes. Took the TB to move along. Thanks for replacing and TFTC. Hope you are feeling better Willbuild.

We searched several areas using the iPhone. After struggling with that, we also fired up the Garmin. The kids found a Matchbox Hummer and a spinning top in the scrub, but no cache.
We were joined by the neighbour, who confirmed the cache had been taken. He knew of its placement, size and camouflage detail, so there was no need to doubt him.
What a shame there is no cache. This is a beautiful location. Needs replacement cache please.

We started out loop walk for. The end of Moana Drive and headed to the point. As we neared the cache, al little dog came up and introduced himself, he was very friendly. We were a bit worried he would follow us, but he layer down in the shade of a big tree and didn't look like moving anytime soon. We found the cache fairly quickly. I signed the log and we headed off around the other side of the point than the direction we came in on, sure it would make a loop eventually.
There were so many derelict paths down to the main path from the surrounding houses, most looked like your have a hard it e trying to use them now. The path we took up to the end of Giles Way really looked like someone's drive way, but it had official signs at both ends and you can clearly see it on the cad aster layer in google. It reminded me of a few places o. The bay in Melbourne were the land owners try to. Make the 'right of ways' look private to discourage people for using them.
Thanks for the cache willbuild, LouiseAnn - visiting from Melbourne Australia

The weather held off long enough for a walk to GZ. Grandson spotted the cache before me. I reckon my height was a disadvantage. We both signed the log and then sat on the seat at the lookout and ate some chippies to fill the tank before attempting the next one. I have logged this cache as part of 12-12-12: A Challenge? http://coord.info/GC42CNY TFTC

A nice walk to find the treasure but I couldn't find any toys. I had some lunch on the seat.

Easy find on our way home from a weekend away in Waihi Beach we were followed by a friendly little white puppy, who just wanted to play fetch!
2nd look lucky-I cant imagine how I missed it the first time there-perhaps I needed the 'barker' in the background to make my eyes see it TFTC

Found it. 4 out of 4 today. The kids LOVED the little dog. Was impressed with how many sticks it could fit in its mouth. TFTC
Nice little walkway. A new and very pleasant place that Ive never been to before.
Cache well placed out of sight of the nearby resident!
Thanks tfc!!

Pretty walk.Find slowed a bit by resident dog being very vocal about me being close to his patch. Pleased he was only about 300mm high. Thanks
