With a light rain developing, this was just the nice straightforward multi needed. Solved nicely, and a short wander till the item needed to search was spotted. Explored the nearby zip line and old bridge support briefly before it was time to get back to the car and out the rain.We stayed in Bairnsdale last night, with a day to cache and explore our way to lillydale. A little wet with light rain at times but still managed to cache along the way and stay dry enough and it stopped towards the afternoon.. Honourable mention to JJ's in Lillydale for the great Pizza, very yummy! We're heading to King Island, via Mallacoota and lakes entrance towards Melbourne. An atlas mapping challenge directing our way towards our waiting plane. Flinders Island, some mainland Tassie, before our target, King Island... our last cachable LGA in Australia!Having been caching for years on our LGAs, sacada and myself teamed up six months ago to tackle the hard ones, then as it happened, all of those that remained. We now are making our way to the last, Flinders for sacada, then King for us both. It has been quite a journey!
Off to Tasmania to get Flinders Island LGA and finally the last LGA for AU at King Island. TFTC.Continuing from Bairnsdale to Lillydale, Melbourne on our trip to Tasmania. A quickish trip slowed way down with caching along the way. Made it late to the van park, but all is ok for sorting the long term caravan parking via email.Nice straightforward multi with a quick find.
Had no problem with this cache and it was quickly found. All is in good order. TFTC.
Had a mixture of cache types on the target list today while out caching with iloook4geo. This was a quick multi as the time taken to get the new numbers organised, move on to GZ, find, sign the log and return to the car was less than 5 minutes. Thanks for this cache placement go to Elmer_Stratty.
We were heading home after a delightful stay in Lakes Entrance and Raymond Island. This brought back memories of our walk across England a few years ago. What a beautiful spot worthy of a cache being here simply to highlight the river. So sorry to hear about the accident with the elephant. Thanks for the hunt Elmer_Stratty
Not quite as you like it but Ill take it. No toil and trouble or bubbles today. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks Elmer_Stratty and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Why do people put logs in the wrong way! Cache eventually found and signed Caching around on the road trip that encompasses Barrington Tops, Sydney, the Easter Geobash Mega in Canberra then the return via who knows where to homeThanks Elmer_Stratty for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
YAY - I've finally stopped in Stratford long enough to search for this cache AND I found it. Thanks Elmer Stratty for the history lesson, the visit to the monument and then the walk around the garden area was greatly appreciated. I rarely deviate off the highway on my journeys from one end of Gippsland to the other. I hadn't realised that there was a lovely walking track and great views of the Avon at that side of Stratford.PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today.
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.Stopped off and grabbed the info needed here. After doing the maths, it only took a short search to come up with the goods. So much history out this way. Thanks Elmer_Stratty for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
After having had lunch at the nearby hotel, we went down to this cache. The information at WP1 were retrieved and the coordinates for GZ calculated. Once there, the GPS was a bit reluctant to settle down properly, but finally we had the cache in hand.
Found It!After a quick visit to WP1, I was soon at the final location. Then after a lot of searching in all the wrong places, I finally looked in the right place and found the cache!TFTC
Something special or unusual goes here:The roads were very busy today so we decided to have a break and find this cache. A quick find once a GZ But then we read about the elephant.. so sad. The Generic Bit:Both Bri and Sal are on the road for a holiday. [^] Holiday - Not a caching trip. This means if we are stopping for a rest, lunch, dinner or to see something whilst on holiday and there just happens to be a cache nearby then maybe Bri can go and try to find it. Maybe. Day 11: Today we left Lakes Entrance to get to Inverloch. Firstly we made our way down to Metung hoping to glimpse the dolphins that were absent from yesterdays cruise. No luck today either so it was off to Tarra Bulga National Park to try and glimpse a Lyrebird . Better luck there, we then continued onto our overnight stop. We managed to stop and grab a few caches along the way. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks Elmer_Stratty for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

Welcome stop on our drive to Lakes Entrance. This one was quick to workout and find. TFTC
I had a few choices on what to do and where to go for this long weekend so after a fair bit of deliberation I chose Eastern Victoria.
I headed this way so I could finally finish off the UBD challenge that I started a while ago so I made Cann River last night
This was going to be a very whirlwind tour as I was just picking up the required caches that I needed to finish it off passing a lot of other caches along the way.
Well that was 2 maps down yesterday so today was going to be a quick in and out visit to Mallacoota.
So after very foggy drive this morning to Mallacoota and back I decided to call it a day and stay at Stratford.
I have driven through here many a time without stopping so it will be great to see what the town has to offer.
A nice simply multi to do especially on a Sunday with not having to worry about the school close by.
Worked out the coords and soon added my name to the log.
A great of the river as you a bit closer to it.
Thanks Elmer_Stratty TFTC.

B & C’s excellent adventure! With just 2 of us left in Eagle Point, and a caravan to trek the 4.5 hour journey home we decided to break up the first half of the journey with a cache (or 7). Our original plans to go visit Billy Goats Gruff were scuppered when I realised that could be challenging (if not downright silly) with a SUV/Van combo so we picked a few caches off the highway and some virtuals to help build our numbers for those.
Silly B decided to sign a challenge cache in Morwell that required 20 Multi’s in Gippsland. We have 0. And live in Geelong. So yeah….
Of the 2 multi’s here this one looked to be substantially quicker, so it was the chosen one. Gathered the required info and sorted out GZ without even having to get out of the car, then set off for GZ where C was happy to make the find. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

What a delightful and peaceful area. We put the first mark on the new log sheet at 5.48pm On our way through Stratford to Sale. Left: pathtag Took: cat charm #9548 TFTC
Stopped and got some numbers at the listed co ords and then went and made a quick find. Another multi closer to 1000 multis. Another find in this LGA.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.

I was interested in the event happening at the Den of Nargun, as its a place that has always intrigued me but just never went. As such I left home early to collect a few caches that interested me and some that I needed for some challenges. Didn't get the whole list, but had time to collect a few others after the event.
Done a lot of research on Angus McMillan today. Visited his burial plot and site of his death, so was able to work out this final easily. Tiz quickly found this one while I was looking in the wrong places. Interesting remains of an old bridge nearby.

Following a semi nearby event 999hunter and I decided to team up for two multis in Stratford on the way home. This was the first on our list having gathered the information at various waypoints on our journey today. Suprisingly I made the find at all our joint caches today, hunters skills must be wearing off on me.
30 Nov22 Hunted all around, could not find, tried coordinates, still could not find. This is the first one we have been unable to find.

Nice spot on the river but abit windy today. Found with kidsbeer on a short explore in tbe area.Tftc
Found on a wander around town on a roadtrip stop. Grabbed the date, and then found a spot to rest while I kicked my brain into gear to work out the new coordinates. Once done, my GPS led me on a merry dance before it finally settled - right where I'd been earlier! TFTC - what a pretty spot.
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Elmer_Stratty

Suscoe headed out today for a wander to the north east of Sale.
It was a delightful day with plenty of sunshine but a cold wind kept us aware that Winter is not far off.
We enjoyed a lovely drive through the countryside, lots of trees, cattle and some sheep. We also saw a lot of parrots along the road sides.
We found a range of caches in various locations and some interesting hides.
Thanks to Elmer_Stratty for this hide. An enjoyable piece of history.

The map led us astray a bit and was pointing us about 40-50 odd metres from where it was actually located, but we found it. Thanks for a good hunt.
Day 5 of the Bring In The New Year (BITNY) road-trip and a big day it is with my 6000th cache milestone, coinciding with the completion of the mammoth Victorian Premiers Challenge. Some LGA caching is thrown in also as we head back towards Melbourne.
Another multi ticked off the list. Some cool woodwork at GZ.
Thanks Elmer_Stratty for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Time to rest and time to chip away at a multi mission. Enroute to see a buddy so far away so took a nice circuitous route. Apologies for very late log. Just happen to be in LOCKDOWN and have some DOWNTIME and discovered a list of DRAFTS! TFTC and the fun.
We worked out the required coordinates and went for our search. We checked the hint, and went for our search. After a few minutes, we decided to read a few logs. Agree with ultravvioletlights, not magnetically attached. TFTC Elmer_stratty.

Found! not sure if its been moved at some point as the hint says its magnetic but its no longer magnetically attached to anything. container is a lil worse for wear and paper was getting a bit damp
A great little multi cache. I love these caches that teach us a bit of history.
n0w0rries finally located it but it did seem to be in a different spot to where the hint suggested. Thanks for the multi cache Elmer_Stratty

After stopping to let the GeoMutts, EveTheStaffy and MaxTheCollie take a dip in the river we paid homage to Angus McMillan.
I do love a nice simple offset multi with some history and information to it.
This one did not disappoint.
A quick find with +Wife after taking everyone's advice and completely ignoring the hint.
Thanks for the Multi-cache Elmer_Stratty. Happy New Year to you.

T'was a busy day today! We started out the day in Maryborough, went to Bridgewater where I entered my very first triathlon!, back to Maryborough to hitch up the caravan, drove all the way to Stratford, set up camp and now I've finally managed to find an accessible geocache to continue our streak.
It was dark when I finally got here so I didn't get to enjoy any of the views but we'll come out in daylight hours this week to enjoy this charming little town.

Now that leaves us with a day of caching around Stratford.

TFTC. We were returning form the shire of East Gippsland and stopped in Stratford for a cache or two. We are working on Multis and this seemed like a nice simple one to do before heading back to Camp in Rosedale. Quickly worked the co-ordinates out. Had a search but nothing came to hand. After reading a log we ignored the clue and the container was quickly revealed.
We are staying in Stratford for a Anniversary weekend away and so we could find The Billy Goats Gruff as the last cache for us for the Ausmer Challenge this morning. Yeehah! After finding that and a few more on the way home from Mitchell River National Park, GMelb who has a virus needed a nap before we headed out again in the arvo for some caches in Stratford. This was the fifth for the arvo and a lovely spot for photos once near GZ. Cache was uncovered so we recovered a bit better.

DNF. Not far from where we're staying, so a no brainer to go for this one. Co-ords obtained, search ensued but to no avail ! Only found a dog tag with somebody's ph. no. on it, so did the right thing and messaged owner. Hid tag in true geo-caching style for later pick-up. Hey ! maybe it was a treasure in the cache ? ?
BREAKING NEWS : Mrs rhubarbroad went back late this arvo whilst I did my ablutions. She found it quite quickly, but didn't have a pen. So we both went back for the third time to do the log. Much happier now thankyou very much !

We’d looked for this one before with no luck as we thought the cache was still affixed the way the hint suggested so we concentrated our efforts differently. Today we were back and decided to ignore the hint completely and we very quickly had the cache in hand!! Argggh there it is!! Yay!!!!! Great to be able to turn the sad face on the map into a smiley This is such an interesting little spot with some great history. Thanks for bringing us here. SL TFTC
This was a nice quick find for us today. The cache was sitting out in the open so we have tucked it out of sight as best we could. Thanks for bringing us here.
Today was the day. New family member day for OHC. This meant a road trip. One that would, of course, involve some caches. Obviously this is one that we found, on what shall forever be known in my head as “Flufflepuff’s adoption day”. Disclaimer: the names mentioned may not be the true, agreed upon name, but rather names I feel are suitable... we too found this one on the ground, and the log had plenty of empty pages for us to sign. Thanks for placing the cache Elmer_Stratty.

Was on the ground when I found it but the coordinates are spot on. Have to come back and sign the log as it was full
Worked out the co-ords and headed down to check out GZ. Had a good look around but no luck for us. The sun was belting down and we retreated a few times into the shade to study the area and re-evaluate where we had looked, and still needed to look. We even checked around on the ground in case it had fallen down, but no good. After 40 minutes we gave up, completely stumped. A great area though with an interesting history. Thanks for the hunt - we’ll be back another day.
On a camping trip to north of Dargo and we stopped here for lunch and yes there was a cache. After solving the puzzle, we made a quick easy find as the cache was sitting on the ground, but when Mr Pooky tried to retrieve the log book from the cache he got his finger caught on one of the staples and couldn't get his finger or the log book out. We thought it was going to be a trip to the emergency department of the nearest hospital. A bit of manipulation from a fellow cacher and we soon had the finger and the log book in hand. More manipulation of the container and the staples, log book signed and cache returned to its position. TFTC .
Typed the coordinates in wrong at first but found when re entered, thanks for the cache
We love a multi that is simple yet still manages to teach you something. The final co-ords are spot on and the cachee is in good condition. SL TFTC

We found a great spot to eat lunch at a picnic table overlooking the river and there just happened to be an orange spot on my Geocaching app soooo close! (I am the navigator.) I got the required information at the cairn over the road and did the calculations while eating my pie. GZ was close by, so I grabbed it while we were there, and read all the interesting information on the nearby plaques, admired the view and took a photo all in one place! What a wonderful combination. Just what a cache should be in my opinion!
Meeting a friend here today so thought I would give this one a shot.

Staying overnight and just time for a quickie, cache that is. Bit of history and lovely view of the Avon. Thnx.
When we pulled up here Mrs B and I decided this would be a great place to have our lunch so I whipped out the "deckies" and we tucked into our salad lunch while enjoying the great views on this sunny day. Anyway after feeding our faces we then tackled the cache which ended up being hidden only a few paces away from where we were so, thankfully, we didn't need to waddle too far afield.

A very late night decision ended in Brodie, muggle partner and I driving from Shepparton to Bairnsdale yesterday Aah the things we do for geocaching!
I'd downloaded pocket queries into GSAK, drawn up my polygon based on Whereis.com's route, refreshed all of the caches within the polygon and then loaded the GPSr [^] We were set! [^]
Leaving at 6am, the Nuvi in Harry suddenly decided that we were NOT going to Bairnsdale via the freeway and Melbourne but that we WERE going to Bairnsdale via the Great Alpine Road [?] Amazingly we saw snow and snow skiers then had 32 degree heat and masses of dusty windy gales all in the one day on Saturday, the day of the 2 Months to the event in Alexandra - Bairnsdale event [?]
Then Sunday was more windy gales, scattered rain, more windy gales and sandblasting of our eyes and bodies while finding a multi in a cemetery and a free wash as we raced back over a pedestrian boardwalk at McGlockko's Beach
I did at least get to laugh as muggle partner tried to move an echidna off of the road and learned that their spines are hard, sharp and go through windcheaters The echidna was still saved though [^]
So many caches that I just did not have time to find however Oh boy! [^] So very pleased that I finally managed to find a couple of older caches that I have been wanting to find for some years now [^] The Billy Goat's Gruff and Devil Bend are now safely claimed as found [^]
Although Devil Bend, being the last cache for the day at 11pm before the mad freeway drive back to Shepp, had it's own story as yes of course the police arrived just as we got out of Harry [^] They loved Brodie and thought his ramp to get out of Harry was great
After breath testing muggle partner and checking both his licence and Harry's rego, they wished us good luck and made to leave
Seems they weren't interested in finding a fantastic old cache as they refused to come and help us find it!
Their comment as they left was 'if we get calls in about torchlights, we'll know it's you!'
14 cache finds today on a ripper caching day! [^]
A good multi is great and this one had history, views and interesting tales too [^]
As I'd not refreshed the polygfon of caches from GSAK this morning, I had this multi showing as 'temporarily disabled'due to needing maintenance. So I targeted this cache for this town, in the hope of assisting with maintenance and keeping the cache alive.
When I got to GZ the cache was a quick find from the right angle and it had a new, good log book in it too [^]
Really enjoyed the stories of times past [^]

On my way to the 2 Months to the event in Alexandra - Bairnsdale event! A quick multi was in order and this one was found quickly - I even think I was the first one to sign the new logbook. Thanks for the cache Elmer_Stratty.

Another weekend and another road trip, this time I was headed to Bairnsdale to attend the next lead up event for the Alexandra Mega.
Apart from letterbox caches, I was also having ago at a few multi's along the way so I made my way to this one.
I gathered the required information and sat in my car out of the hot wind and came up with a new set of numbers which happened to be where a muggle was when I arrived but he had just left.
I headed over and looked at the obvious spots and then the not so obvious and still no cache until I came back to where I started and had a better look, this time it was there.
**Thanks to Elmer_Stratty for placing this cache.**

While wandering around town with the family last Sunday slowly knocking off the Arts Trail we discovered that this one was at one of the waypoints. Very handy stopping point it was too, because we were all dying for a picnic break. So while the kids were unloaded by the geohubby I quickly dashed across the road to the monument in question and gathered the relevant data then crunched the numbers while enjoying a well earned vegemite and cheese sandwich! Then we had a slight battle to redirect the eldest child away from the track down to the river and instead join in the hunt for the 'treasure'. I wandered in many a direction before I realized my gps was pointing to exactly where we'd been standing arguing with the almost threenager minutes earlier! And there it was! Thanks for the cache and the handy stopping point Elmer Stratty.
