We continued today our tour of several AUS states in the NorthWest and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to Spiker_ for the generation of this nice cache Gemfields (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Today we headed to Sapphire and Rubyvale to explore parts of gem country. It took a few minutes to locate this cache. We thought that we were looking for a regular cache but it was actually small - makes a big difference when searching these objects. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Spiker for the cache.
Thank you for the little adventure. We left a little gift behind for future catchers!
Definitely a tricky one to find unspotted by the muggles waiting for water. Stealth mode activates. Cache was found undetected. TFTC
Would like to know what this old rusty thing did. Lots of muggles lined up for water on the other side of the car park. TFTH
This was a quick find in good condition...I think. I'm sitting in a Cafe in London logging some weeks after finding this cache. At the time I had to store it as optus had little coverage out that way. Tftc
This was a suprising spot to find a cache and I am having fun exploring the area.
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Heading to Rubyvale today, a quick find on the way. A nice old relic. Tftc
During our stay at the Emerald Motel, we had the opportunity to explore the area and find hidden caches. We also had the chance to take in the sights and sounds of the local area. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Spiker_.
33,533. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 27. After a fun night at the local Pub, we packed up and cleaned out the Gemfields/Sapphire/Rubyvale region. Once that was complete we headed a little bit more East to Emerald where we both had unfinished business to attend to. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
Found by Mary and David at 15:00. Wonder how this machinery relic was used in mining around here? Our thanks to Spiker_.

On a slow, meandering trip out to Longreach for the QOGM 2023 event.

The area is strewn with bits of machinery so it was no surprise that we would eventually get to explore a relic. Tftc
On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. A quick find here. A couple of caching days planned in and around Rubyvale, Sapphire and a chance for Mrs Geo to hit the gem fields. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Heading back to our accomodations we drop by here and found it quickly after the fail last visit

I’m off on my annual 6 week adventure and it is back to Outback Queensland to finish off what I started last time but got interrupted along the way.
It is nice and quiet on the roads this morning and I’m now in QLD and the weather can only get better to what Melbourne is at the moment.
After a beautiful couple of days at Carnarvon Gorge it was time to head to Anakie for a couple of nights.
Arrived at Anakie then set up the van so now it is off to explore the area as much as I am able to do so.
My trip has turned pear shaped as my knee has gone and so there is now very little walking so if you saw someone hobbling around that was probably me.
Continuing on with my caching tour of Sapphire and Rubyvale and what an interesting place to visit.
As I was approaching some locals had just finished off filling their ICB’s with the water that is available from the nearby large tap.
Cache has been replaced and message sent to the CO.
Thanks Spiker_ TFTC.

Nice easy find. Unfortunately something dead nearby so very stinky. No traceable as indicated. TNLN TFTC
Looks like it's gone. Would someone in the area or passing through be kind enough hide a replacement cache? I hid this when my dad lived nearby and we visited often. Now he's passed away visits will be rare but for sentimental reasons I'd really like to keep this cache going. Many thanks to anyone willing to help out.
On a geo road trip with swearah and stephyy. Staying in the gemfields tonight and we ventured out to grab a few caches. Once at GZ I spotted the hide here. Tftc Spiker_ ️
A fun afternoon caching adventure with Stephyy and jodsta83. Stephyy spotted this one for the team.
Thank for the cache, Spiker_

Along with the Trudge2TVL mob (Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, Captain Terror, Crew 153 and myself) we have been buzzing around the general broader Townsville district all week having a blast .. and today we are heading south towards Brisbane (having left the Captain up there). Via Clermont because we could.
After yet another (but final for the trip) 4am start, our 14 hour amble back to Brisbane was well underway by the time we got into the Gemfields. And the sun was really just arising. The moon just setting. Cache quickly found at GZ, and with the lure of coffee in Emerald now calling - a quick final group shot ... and the 14 hour final drive continued.
Thanks Spiker_ for entertaining me at this location.

Trudge to Townsville Day 9: the final day of our trip, and a return driving day from Clermont to home (Brisbane). This was on our list as a nice old cache, which is what 95% of our caches were during this trip, and with the moon still in the sky we set off from our accommodation at 4am.
The sun was only just starting to peak out to signify the dawn of the new day when we pulled up here. I clambered up and made a quick find, with a very appropriate and cute little decorative nest of eggs in the cache - the perfect find as the sun came up on Easter morning!
Thanks for the cache Spiker_.

1MinnieMoo, Pprime, Crew 153, and I were heading home from Clermont. We made a deviation to grab this beast.
I was a little sullen as I pulled into GZ, as I had unavoidably hit a roo on the other side of town - and the car behind me made sure that was the end of him
After making sure the car wasn't damaged, we set about hunting for this beast. We soon found the prize safe and sound. A great little excuse for a stop. TFTC Spiker_

A roadside stop on the last long leg from Clermont to Brisbane It didn't take long to locate the cache.

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks Spiker_ (F=136 H=13) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

It was reasonably hot today so we were all pleased that this one didn't take too long to find as some surfaces seem to attract the heat well. Thanks for the cache.
We are zig zagging our way north with micaparamedic, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 and after staying at Blackall we are heading towards the Lab caches in Emerald via Barcaldine to grab a few solved puzzles there.
We had spent the night in Sapphire as the sun had set by the time we had finished the Rockhound trail. Today we were having a more leisurely day
We have been enjoying our tour of Sapphire and Rubyvale letting geocaching be our guide..
and we have seen quite a bit that we may not have seen otherwise.
Being very hot today we were happy that the cache was a nice easy find and after adding our names to the log we headed back to the air conditioned cars.
Thanks Spiker for the hide.
