This cache is a bit special for me but more for my non-Geo partner, who is listed on the first sign, as she was instrumental in setting up the interpretive signs, back when we lived here quite a while ago. There was a lot of collaboration between many agencies and people within them.
Our favourite bit of the signage is the kid's drawings of the native animals, especially the echidna. It still makes us laugh, even after a decade.
We tried to walk the whole trail north, but it sort of ran out by the railway line, so we turned round and came back.
Thanks doheng, this gets a favourite point for the memories.
PS saw a heron telling a cat "where to go" on the bridge back to the car park as we left, then spotted a crake in the typha rushes by the creek.

Found by my newbie geo neice. Easy find, nice little walk for my beautiful pregnant geo wife! Tftc. Took a fairy pad, left a putt putt mildura ticket. 7pm
Easy find. Love the location. Would never have come in here if not for GEOcaching!
Another fine day in Mildura so we ventured future afield and managed to get some great caches. This was one we targetted and found. A very nice walk to gz and we enjoyed having a look around.
Thanks to doheng.
Thanks to doheng.
Found on a bracing walk in the wind today. The old log is only half full and already people have started the new one!
This wet land at Lake Hawthorn has come up a treat since the drought has broken.
A lovely walk with Mrs H & C's also GeoDog. Replaced cache with a little more covering that it had when we found it. Took a TB and dropped a coin. TFTC.
On the trip to Hay we had an break and we found this cache. Very nice view on the lake and the city. Thank you for hide.

We walked the lake after dark, we looked but couldn't see any bunyips. We took the present Geocoin, we had to look twice to confirm it was a coin and not a swap.
So many snails, all resembling bird poo. Tried to avoid walking on them, enjoyed the bird life of which there were heaps, and enjoyed our walk .

Nice area but not much bird life today. Thanks doheng, we have certainly seen some different scenery while following your caches. Found with fellow cachers while visiting the area. Silky Seekers Brisbane.
FlyingPigSquadron has landed!Still following GoldJ around! Lovely spot I suspect it hasn't had this much water in it for a long time TNLNSLTFTCH&BUH doheng
Our team found this one during the dark of night it will give u a fright in the dark of night -captain-green-
Yay so happy to find this cache as it's the first one I ever tried to find so nice to see so much water
Looked around for well over a hour and couldn't find it. But it was dark at the time.
14 people were on the hunt but unfortunately we didn't find the cache. It was darkish. We did however manage to drive close to avoid a night walk with the Mosquitos.
Found 8.30am
Nice to park up in front of the lake and walk round to the cache. Had a quick look at the bird hide before going to GZ where we found the cache exposed, signed the log and covered over a bit better.

TFTC Found on our second Grey Nomad Adventure camping around the Mighty Murray. It was like the earth open up and spewed those satanic little insects. The beagle was running around like the devil was attached to her tail. BUT we got our smiley face (and covered in bites)
Found the cache today at 11.15am with beanie

We picked this cache to do as we are Hawthorn supporters lol and as we were first walking along and the area was quite dry we were joking that maybe it represented Hawthorn's performance in 09 and early 10 lol!
Once we rounded the corner we saw the lake and lovely views.
We picked up a TB that was actually dropped off today!! (not logged yet)
Pity we missed these cachers - (they logged their swaps but no caching name) as it is quite enjoyable to meet cachers "in the wild" lol
Took Snow White TB and bubble mixture
Left Disney Princess Shower Creme (in own bag) and stickers
TFTC doheng - another pretty place!

Walked from the river to this cache. About 5km along goat track country roads, until I got to the parking co ordinates. Then I walked on a sandy track until i reached gz. I started my search and came up empty handed. I then read the logs and started kicking I found it almost straight away! Mmmmm maybe this is telling me something. In case of a possible dnf KICK! TFTC the lake surely looks dry now.
Nice little spot have never been here before and lived in the area all my life.....
My 8 year old found it just after I told him to stop kicking the ground...... then he called out I found it!!!!!

You have to love it when you GPS thinks a route exists that just isn't possible.
After doing the Green belt I was bought over to the other side of the lake. My GPS was determined there a route across the middle.
So then we had to work our way around the edge. I think I have had the grand tour of this area.
Finally parked and had a lovely stroll into GZ.

A top spot for a cache. A whirl wind visit as my time for leaving Mildura for Wagga was nearing. I was on a mission here and the grand tour was nearing completion. Clear skies from TeamAstro.
We managed to drive within 30 mtrs of GZ. Very interesting area with the lake on one side and the vines on the other. TFTC SL TNLN
The previous too evenings had been a bit too warm to tackle this one but this evening was perfect. Very quiet, no people and no birdlife around for the pleasant walk. TFTC
An early start to a hot day.
An interesting wetlands which could do with some rain.

Thanks again Doheng. Another lovely spot in Mildura which we wouldn't haved found without your cache. TN Left lizard.
I saw this full of water at the 2004 hot air balloon championships.
My father was paddling his canoe in the lake and the balloons were flying over it to the target at the South eastern corner.
Today doheng and I jogged to the cache. And another sneaky one it was too.
TFTC
I was very puffed at the end of the jog, but we have more to do this afternoon.

Found the cache at 5pm. Lovely walk along to the cache - pity not enough water... No swap SL. Thanks doheng for organising the cache and hunt.
2nd of 9 finds for the day, after a day and a half of doing the right parent thing decided to do the caching thing. Mr E had to go it alone with 3 precious geokids not wanting to brave the heat (A whopping 29 degrees). Quick find, had to squint to see the wet lands. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found whilst Raiding the Fruit Bowl, nice spot - sorry about the late log - TFTC
First cache of the morning at a very early time of 5:30. We had a big day of caching and driving ahead of us and wanted to make sure we could fit it all in! I missed the parking coords, for some reason they didn't get exported to my GPSr, so we parked at the top end of the walking track and made our way from there. Somewhere between the day before and this morning I lost my torch but was thankful for my caching partner's spare.
MV made the find while I was sniffing around a different spot. We didn't get to see a lot of the area in the dark but the brisk walk and cool air was a big wake up!
Thanks,
R + W - B

Found at 0530. After a great night was had last night, and an even better weekend, it was time to head home...but not before grabbing a few caches around the area. We got early as we had a long way to go to get home, and whilst the air was a bit cool this morning, we enjoyed the walk along the track to GZ with only the moonlight and a couple of torches to light our way. Couldn't see much of the surrounding area, so this might be one to revisit on a return trip.
Thanks.
Thanks.
We really enjoyed the walk to this one and the interesting info boards along the way. There was a lovely River Eagle flying overhead [^] Nice Little Hide TNLNSL TFTC
We tried to attack this from the wrong entry point, before I realized that there were car park co-ordinates listed with the cache, doh. Though we could have walked from where we first stopped, it just looked like it might be along private property.
We followed the walking track around to the cache, and then Maccamob turned up, and walk straight across the lake, so we took that route home.
Interesting place, with a straight forward cache.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Find # 477 @ 15:35 and the 11th for the day out with the 4x4 convoy whilst attending the "Lets Raid the Food Bowl" event in Mildura.
Only 400 metres to the cache. Hmmm might be easier from the other side of the lake. Drove the 4.5 ks only to find it was 400 metres to the cache again.
Hopped onto shanks's pony and after a nice walk, we arrived, signed the log and departed. Great lake. Would be even better with some some water in it.

In the company of Ian&Penny, pprass Squalid and 3UP. Much discussion (to the north of the cache site) as to the best way to approach this cache when it was found it could not be made into a drive-by. Those who chose to walk from the location demonstrate that sometimes man power is more efficent than horse power.

10th find of the cache run and 2115th total find at 15:40.
An interesting find. After much discussion, half the group decided to approach from the closest point - near the vinyard, while the rest of us drove around to the parking co-prdinates to do the cache properly.
We thoroughly enjoyed the nature walk, and the views over the ?lake?
Took: Nothing
Left: Screwdriver

Day 2 for GC1TJ3B - Let's Raid the Food Bowl with travels and caching around the Mildura area extending into NSW.
No rain today, plenty of sunshine in the morning but it was cooler and overcast in the afternoon.
We missed the right parking area so we had a little longer walk to get to the cache but it was good. TFTC.

Found with a group of cachers while up here for the "Let's raid the food bowl" event. One group chose the longer walk in, while we chose he closer car park. The walkers beat us quite easily - there was much to-ing and fro-ing on the radios. Thanks for the cache.
Found by Mary & David at 1325. There was a little water in the lake. We enjoyed the walk and the information boards. Perhaps the bird hide should be moved much closer. Wonder how long since the water covered the sand. Caught up with Round Circle and GeoFerret. Our thanks yet again to Doheng.

Will the lake ever refill? A muti million dollar question. Left something and took a travel bug, Santa elf. Checked out the hide only to discover the local birds had invisible bikinis and in fact they too were invisible. Didn't try it but I wander if you could walk across the lake. Cache 13 in Mildura and will hopefully get a couple on the way south tomorrow morning. Thanks to the locals for putting out the caches. They brought me to this city. Now the caching is done I can play tourist for the afternoon.
Was out this way yesterday and did not know this one was here so came back today to grab my seventh doheng cache for my winter trip up North.A very pleasant wander down to the near dry lake and a easy find. Thanks again doheng for providing a variety of different caches for us to hunt. I will have to return another time and put some more smiley faces in this location.
